Trying to root honor 7 - Honor 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys.
I am having issues getting root access on my phone.
The story:
I have just bought a brand new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV s-edition. This car have an app to be used with Android or iPhone, but the car only got wifi (with horrible range) without internet capabilities. So I did some investigating, I thought I could have a phone in my car, connected to my cars wifi, and then just remote connect to that phone with an app like teamviewer.
I tested this out with my nephews honor 7 and I was able to make it work. Now, I thought to buy a phone with biggest battery, and fell on a Lenovo P2.
However, I tried everything, but nothing would work (setting "mobil data always active" in developer options did nothing. So I asked my nephew if he wanted to switch phones. He was super-happy to do so...
But now I am totally unable to do what I did earlier: connect to my car with my iPhone through the honor 7. So I am now trying to root the phone to be able to use full advantage of the application : Super download.
So, I have come to the place where I have installed a new bootloader: twrp.
But I am unable to get root access. I have tried several options installed through the bootloader, but nothing seems to work.
Who would think that being able to connect to two networks at the same time in 2017 should me so difficult with a phone?
It's either on the wifi(intranet) or the mobile 3g/4g, but never both... Oh noo

, that's impossible... Yes to send people to the moon in 1969 is fine, but to connect the phone on two networks at same time in 2017 is impossible? Who could know...
But yeah, if I could get root access on my phone u could try the app Super Download and try to connect to both intranet(wifi) and internet(mobile-data) at the same time.
Any help, or will this app not work, event with root?

There is no error message. The phone seems to do its thing, but when it is finished and booted up again, there is no root.

when you flash any new sbf (which is exactly what an OTA does), you will lose root. You just have to use one of the methods and see if you can get root back.
Either I'm noobing something up, or there does seem to be some change to the root method needed as I had this working before.
Running photon-torpedo.sh still gives me that giant error message that successfully roots me so the hard part is done.
However, it seems like the install-su.sh is complaining:
mount: can't find /system in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab
plus a few other errors after that.
root is still open. i just rooted through adb and am typing this while tethered.
almost had a heart attack...now rooted again
Will I have to do the dock-less method again after updating, to use just an hdmi cord for webtop?

Mine works fine. I used the test app from the galaxy S2 forum, I then got voodoo rootkeeper, if your rooted, from the market and installed and ran it it will temporarily unroot. Then install the test app and sign in. Obviously this is UK only and you need a sky account. When I'm not using it I just reroot using voodoo

Sky Go in Italy, on Android devices, it's an exclusive for Samsung Tablets. May be there are some commercial agreements between Samsung and Sky...
They told me that it's an exclusive of samsung's tablets but in the next moths there will be an official Sky Go app for any android devices

[Q] Nabi 2 Root Problems

Hi
I would have posted this in the Nabi 2 root thread, but i don't have enough posts to do so.
I have tried and tried to root both my girls Nabi 2 tablets and i get errors with both of them, i have rooted a few Android devices before and find it easy, but i just cant get these to Nabi 2's done.
Using jmztaylor's method i get this error:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
If i try to install root or gapps via recovery, i get this error:
I cannot see or understand what i am doing wrong, i rooted my Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 at Christmas and everything went fine, im using the same computer to do thes Nabi 2's but just errors all the time.
My most recent update on them was December i think, is it possible Nabi may have blocked the method to do this between the root being released and Christmas ?

No i just have the normal Nabi 2, im thinking it was the update i did on Christmas day, its above the version that everyone is rooting their Nabi 2's on.
EDIT
Thanks to your link, i found this thread

It seemed to root fine, i even have SuperSU on the Nabi, but it wont install gapps, so i tried installing the Market independently, it installs but wont run, lol its frustrating as i normally find these things easy, now i feel a bit stupid for not being able to get it sorted.

Use the same method for the Alcatel one touch idol mini
this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2784451&d=1402084843
And I believe its the third option down, try it out. No recovery that I know of yet though.

This is my 1st post. I wanted to 2nd this. I just got my tablet for free from T-Mobile, AND they knocked $40 off my bill for giving me this tablet and 5gb of data on the tablet. I rooted it this morning with Kingo as well. It was extremely easy once I actually got the tablet to connect to their program. With the difficulty of connecting included, I would rate the total difficulty to root this tablet using Kingo as a 3/10. If you can actually get the tablet to connect to their program easily, then I would rate it as a 0.25/10.
Not to mention this was my first time rooting anything. Now if an exploit could come out for my XTE Xmax, I would be one happy camper.

AppLock application not listed in App With Usage Access menu

I'm using official Ressurection Remix rom as a daily driver and I've got no problem at all. This problem happened when I'm flash the HMnote3Pro_6.6.16_Modem.zip file. The phone boot normal until I found when I set screen lock PIN or pattern it'll force close (seems security FC). Right after that my applock app is re-asking permission for usage access, at this time I found that applock not listed in the App With Usage Access menu. So, I get back to TWRP and flash the CM13 Radio file and then I'm able to set PIN for lockscreen again. But, my applock still re-asking for permission and applock app still not listed in App With Usage Access menu. Why this happened? How to solve this? I've been tried to factory reset or reflash the rom but no luck, even when I'm switched to AICP the problem still exist. I've been trying to use another applock app but it just the same, not listed in App With Usage Access menu. So I will never able to use applock anymore if this problem couldn't be fixed.
But I have a nandroid backup of CM Official. And when I'm restoring the rom, this problem is not there. But when I'm switch to another rom like RR or AICP the problem is come again. I'm so frustating about this, I have no idea what's going on. I guess it because the nandroid backup is created before I'm flashing the HMnote3Pro_6.6.16_Modem.zip file or maybe because it's nanroid backup, it's like go to past time before I'm making a mistake.
Please help. Sorry for my bad english. Thank you.
--update--
This picture taken in Cm13 official showing that applock could be permitted, and this menu only shows apps that could be permitted or not. But when in another rom with applock not listed problem this menu showing all of google apps even apps that couldn't be permitted (the toggls is greyed out). But I forgot to take screenshot when in another rom.
