Wireless Charging anyone? - Google Pixel Accessories

I'm a huge fan of wireless charging. I've installed adapters on my past phones. Does anyone have a wireless charging solution for the Pixel?

I'm a huge fan of searching first...

I cant remember the name of the one I have been using since I purchased my Pixel but they are on Amazon and if you have a phone case then it works great and you cant see it. Plus, if you position it right it does not get in the way of the fingerprint sensor.

I have searched but short of modding a case, I haven't seen one I liked

There is this thing that seems good. Strange, but is a solution.
Edit: it's not rated good, but the idea is this, maybe look for other brands

I use this with a case and it works fine. Slow charge though, but fine for overnight.

Why does anyone want wireless charging? Efficiency is always <60% so you are just burning through energy and time.

In theory, you should actually lose charge while listening to Spotify on Qi depending on where your phone is at on its battery life. Qi charging can run as low as 45% efficency, which means your phone might actually be dying faster than its charging.

ohhh pretty nice! how about charging is it good at it becasuse i used to have a few chargers and none charge the phone takes a lonnnng time to even charge 1% or nothing at all i know any charger WONT charge at same rate of the wall charger but something reasonable. THANKS!
I don't know of anything that does a good job as an all-in-one, but this car charger works exceptionally well. I am able to use GPS, and stream pandora through bluetooth and the device will still charge with the screen on.

Yeah I just use this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009GSI0MM/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It too works very well.
And I just use whatever USB 2.0 cable I have around, or a USB 3.0 cable. It doesn't matter. All charges the same for me. I get 1200 with the screen on, 1800 with screen off.

If you're really wanting something that performs well and is all in one, I'd suggest proclip. Unfortunately, I don't have one myself to guarantee it charges well enough.
http://www.proclipusa.com/phone-hol...-and-cigarette-lighter-plug-512564-19506.cmsv
They also have a USB charger, so you'd be able to swap the cig adapter part out for something better
http://www.proclipusa.com/phone-hol...-usb-cigarette-lighter-plug-521564-19506.cmsv
But like I said, I can't guarantee it charges well. I just know proclip usually makes quality stuff.
Downside is you can't use a case with it, and you'd have to get another adapter from proclip to mount it wherever you want to mount it.
But this would be the easiest design where you could just slide the phone in and not worry about having to plug another wire into the usb port on the phone.
Everything else that's available is just a mount + cable + cig adapter. Even the iBolt works the same. You still have to manually plug in the power cord to the USB port on the phone every time. It is the same as using a universal mount + cable
i saw this one at pepboys but not really sure about the quality anyone hear about it?

I use the ram X grip and glued on a Nokia dt900 wireless charger works well I tested with a battery drain app and after an hour it dropped 2% battery. But the app turns everything on and brightness at 100% and does calculations. Battery gets hot. I think if u just have gps running it will keep battery where it's at or even charge it a bit. Also have a anker 24watt usb charger if I need a fast charge.

Did you have to also have to get an inverter to work with that?
No I hardwired it to the cars accessory wire and put a fuse in line. The Nokia dt900 is 12v dc same as car. I will have to keep testing to see if it survives the cars fluctuations in voltage from 12-13.5 volts

Qi Car Charger

Has anyone purchased/used one yet? I am looking at getting one, but haven't yet, mostly because I haven't found one that I am sold on. Thanks
I've got two different ones that I've tried now and neither of them keep the phone charging, but the battery will usually stay at the same amount. They charged my Nexus 5 pretty well even under hard use while driving.

Funny enough, one of them is the same one you just posted, just a different brand name. Worked good for my Nexus 5, but my LG G3 usually just stays at the current level when I put it on there with Ingress or Waze plus BT Streaming going on. If it is hot out it loses charge slowly.
Here's the other one.

Grips MUCH better, and is a really nice mount. 3 coil also, but not enough juice to do better than the other one. I've tried multiple 2.1A usb chargers too.

Does your DigiYes consistently charge your phone? I have one of the DigiYes models, but I'm finding it frequently stops charging, often within seconds of beginning charging, though sometimes it lasts a few minutes before giving up. I always get the "Wireless Charging" message on the display, never the "slow charging" warning.
I tried swapping their 2.1A cigarette lighter adapter for an Anker 2.4A charger -- same deal. Tried adjusting the vertical position in the charger -- sometimes seems to last a little longer before giving up, but generally doesn't help at all. When it stops charging, the blue light stays on (rather than going back to green).
When it does charge, I seem to get a decent charge current out of it. Very confusing, and probably going to get shipped back.
Edit: it seems to drop out less when charging from wall power, though it still happens -- perhaps correlated with greater power demands on the phone (Google Earth).
I did state above that it charges my phone, but if Navigation and BT Streaming is going on it keeps it at a steady level, or if hot discharges slowly.
If you don't have a 3 coil QI charger, positioning is very important, if it charges and stops, it is a positioning issue for sure.
Changing to a higher amperage charger won't help, as Qi only puts out so much. The new Qi standard coming out should fix this for us though, it transmits 2 amps I think, and has more distance so positioning shouldn't matter AS much.

Does the DigiYes disconnect constantly like the one I have? Or no?
Nope.
My other one did, but after adjusting how high it sat with the bottom brace that problem went away.
My air dock keeps the phone at a steady charge while running navigstion, bluetooth (aptx) via stock music app, and 100% brightness. The thermal protection activates eventually and lowers the brightness to 90%, and then it starts to very slowly charge. It charges fast if not running anything.
Also, you don't need 3 charging coils. My powerbot disk style charger easily works without worrying about position. I opened it up and the whole thing (~2.5") is one big coil. The air dock works well too, but I haven't opened it up.

It works perfectly fine. Does yours use both magnets and the suction pad? I believe they were separate options in one development point. Also, my car was dusty and it did get some dust on the pad which made it not hold, but wiping it with a damp cloth and letting it dry fixed that issue.

My DigiYes 3 coil frequently disconnects, sometimes in a constant connect-disconnect loop. Other times it holds for a while. It seemed to do better when I put it on a higher amperage charger than it came with, along with the original G3 cable. However this could be coincidence. When it does charge, the charging rate is comparable to any of my desktop qi chargers.

Battery drains while navigating and CHARGING?

How is this even possible? While using NAV, my G3 is plugged into the car charger is still decreasing in battery life. Albeit slower than when not charging, but it still goes down even though it is charging. What gives?
Using a charger bought at VZW.
Make sure the charger is 2.1 amp...if its a 1 amp, the combo of GPS, data, and screen on will still kill it.

Yup, totally depends on the charger. Some cheap ones are only .5A and most are 1A, which probably still isnt enough when using GPS and screen on.

I had this problem starting all the way back on Galaxy Nexus - crappy chargers and cables do not provide enough power to run the phone and the screen. My research and trial and error on many chargers lead me to understand that not only do you need a good high power charger, you need a good cable too. I now run 18awg charge-only cables exclusively as well as a 2.1amp charger. This pair has worked on all my devices since including fast charging on my G2 and G3.
Note that a charge-only USB cable has the data pair shorted and will only work for charging - will not work for data transfer. However the wires inside are thick and work great cars or other situations where you don't need the cable for data.
This is what I use:
Cable

Charger

True you only pay more for extra coils the name brand and possible quality build.
Nexus 4 orb
The nexus 4 orb charger works great with the Nexus 6. Charges to 100%, stops, then starts up again at around 96%. However, this stop/start charging cycle does not make any noise.
I did notice early on that my Nexus 6 would hit 100% charge, then completely stop. This was on a custom kernel (Franco), but once I replaced that with a different kernel (leanKernel), wireless charging started behaving properly again.
the Choe keeps it at 99 or 100, basically always charging....no extra sounds here either...IMHO works great.
and through a Ringke Fusion case
My question is this something to do with the nexus or all QI phones in general? Do they normally goto trickle charge? If so google should fix this, id imagine this cant be good for the battery actually really bad for the battery. Going really low or really high wears the battery more than keeping it in more of the ~30-80 range. Yo-yoing like that cant be good for the battery.

Wireless Charger

Has anyone had success getting wireless charging to work on the 6T? Before you start, I know, it's not built in. I mean with one of those little cards you plug into the bottom and slip between the phone and case. I have a 10w capable charging pad I'd like to use. The receiver I got doesn't seem to go in far enough. When plugged in to my old 3T, it will charge wirelessly and it doesn't go all the way into the phone unlike the 6T. I noticed that with the official OP charging cable there is a little click when inserting when then and only then it will charge. I can't get the receiver in far enough before bottoming out to get that click. Or would current output not be high enough on the receiver for the phone to recognize?

This phone can pretty much be charged once a day with the way most of us are using it. Having it slowly charge over night with wireless charging may be less straining in the battery. I'm tempted but so far I just charge to around 80% at night before bed and unplug overnight.
I was looking at that one on Amazon. Seems like the gold one on there may be better?
My question is, if you have to plug the wireless charging card into your USB C port anyway, does that defeat the entire purpose? Not dissing it or anything, that's very subjective, but.....

Just remove cable. No big deal I have done this. Plus I don't use the dongle only Bluetooth headphones.
The reason that I use a wireless charging receiver pad plugged into my usb-c is because I've seen more than one of them go bad on other phones.
Besides the power button, the next most likely part of a phone to fail is its charge port. Likely because of sheer mechanical wear and tear on both these components. Which is why I use gestures to turn on and off my display, and that wireless receiver.
However, it's not without drawbacks:
- I'm not sure that having something perpetually plugged in doesn't stress the port much less than taking something in and out. But I figure it does.
- It's a pain to use the port for anything else, like otg drives or wired headphones or adb
- dash charging is WAY faster than wireless

Why would you like to have a wireless charger? The cable charging is amazing is so fast. I normally charge round at 30 percent and I went to play battlefield 5 two games my phone will be fully charged is so fast. Not worth it to get a wireless charger. But is your phone do what you want I'm just here to give you a opinion lol

I have been using wireless charging since day one. No issues at all. Lay it on wireless charger at night. Wake up to full charge. No need to charge through out the day cause battery is fantastic for Edu Birdy website. This is the one I use.

Does it work if I have the terminal with the original red case?
Lack of wireless charging is my only real gripe with the 6T. This sounds like a good solution if you never plan to use the USB port. I like the quick wired charging but having the option for wireless would be a good feature. How hard could it have been for OnePlus to add? Is the back case metal? It looks like glass to me.
Just easier for me to plug in my USB-C slow charger. Not sure what the advantage is to doing this. If you put it between the back of the phone and a case, I get it. Just plugging it into a USB-C wireless receiver seems like a waste of 15 -20 bucks for zero gain. At least for me.
I bought this one so I can still charge it if needed. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QNW32V4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
