Did you receive a 128 or 256 microSD card? - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Guides, News, & Discussion

I pre-ordered on the 25th for the TMO black, with the N7 deal. My email confirm said I was getting the 128gb chip, which goes for a little over $50 on Amazon. I just opened the box, and to my great surprise, I found a 256gb MB-MC256DA/AM chip inside. It goes for around $150. With the fast charger, that means around $200 in goodies at retail.
Thank you Samsung!!!!

256gb here

Was this the sd and charger deal?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

thats what folsk are saying on slickdeals as well.
darned, if i knew that i would have gotten in on the 256gb card.
already had a 128gb and got the camera bundle.
256gb sd $$ = camera $$

omg, so unfair
Here in Finland and pretty much all Europe is not getting sd-cards or fast chargers with their note 8. We are getting the Dex-station. That is so lame. I would rather take the fast charger and sd-card, but thats not an option here in Finland.
Don't know whatta hek im suppose to do with it..
Have to buy a fast wireless charger of some sort anyways. I have a wireless charger intergated in my car already, I want one at home too. Any suggestions what fast wireless chager to buy?

I was shocked to see a 256 Gb card in the box.

Honestly, had I known that Samsung was shipping a 256 GB memory card with that promo, I would have definitely opted for that and not the 360 camera... I guess everything is not as it seems with this entire Note 8 Fiasco ?

Not for resale given what they go for on the secondary market, great deal if you plan to use it though.

How long did this stuff take to get to you?

Oh man, I hope they are giving 256s!

I received 256 with my order from Samsung...(former Note 7 deal)

Oh man. I hope I get a 256gb too!

Since the note 7,
The market has bren flooded with this 256 evo plus (note 7 promotion) and costs about $100 +/- now
I'm pretty sure they are just getting rid of what they had from last year to now.
For the price, it works great. I've been using one since last year in my v20 and not a problem.

256GB and I got a 256GB with my note 7 purchase last year this time. The extra one doesn't work in my drone, so it's in my night stand for now...

I have my 250gb one from my note 7
Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

I got the 256GB one as well. Gave it to my wife since I have a 256GB from my Note7.

i called samsung, and they confirmed that they are giving the 256 GB sd cards.

Nice. Had I known. Oh well. I love Samsung.

Class ratings are only a minimum guaranteed sequential write spec, not an absolute qualification of the card's speed... It's like desktop memory really. The manufacturer will test it at one or two speeds, say class 2 & 4, any card that fails to write at class 4 speeds gets tested at 2, there could very well be class 6's or barely 6's in the batch of 4s tho.... Specially with a manufacturer like Sandisk who doesn't really do a lot of speed binning on the smaller cards and is known to vastly underrate them at times. The class rating doesn't even mean anything for the purpose of read speeds which can and do vary.
I've got a class 6 Adata card that writes at 10MB/s, effectively making it a class 10... Cost $25 on Newegg IIRC. I paid like a buck more at CompUSA for a Patriot 16GB C4 card that writes at like 5.9MB/s, so really more like class 6. Both read at around 18MB/s. Got an 8GB class 4 Sandisk that came with my EVO 3D that reads at around 18MB/s too and writes at like 5MB/s. Meanwhile the 8GB class 6 Patriot card I bought when I had my EVO 3D only reads at just under 14MB/s but it writes at over 8MB/s.
Frankly I think anything over class 4 is fine... And overpriced c10 cards and the like are rarely worth it. I have an older 2GB PNY card made by Toshiba that doesn't even have a class rating and it's actually one of the faster cards I have. Meanwhile an even older 1GB card is dog slow.
BUMP!
In case people missed it, another one of those "deal" sites is offering the same exact card now for the same price. $35 shipped. I frequently see stuff that doesn't sell out on 1saleaday.com get offered there after a few days. They have a "status bar" kind of like how Woot does during the wootoffs so you can see how much available stock is left. Looks like they might have this for a couple of days, but I wouldn't wait too long.
http://bensoutlet.com/products/sandisk-32gb
I can vouch for them. I've ordered through them before and I think they're actually quicker than 1saleaday.com.

Micro SD in Phone at purchase?

So When I bought my SG S II I got it from Best Buy, only because it was a sunday and I had to have a phone. Anyhow, did you guys get an SD card with it? I thought at least it would come with a lame 2GB like my wife's Infuse, but I got nothing? WTF? My buddy with verizon gets 16GB cards with his Droids. SO Im am wondering did I get gimped out? or do they come with no SD card?
I got mine from AT&T and I didn't receive an SD card as well. Although, for me, I was trading in a thrill. although, I still paid $235 so I feel that I should have gotten one

I think most HTC phones have very little internal memory (from a quick search, HTC Sensation has 1gb, Thunderbolt hs 8gb) compared to ours, which is why they probably include a microsd to keep up.
Yeah, direct order from ATT, it came with nothing at all. Slightly dissapointed it didn't come with even a headset.

Well that's because the Charge had 512mb of internal storage. Class 4 microsds are slow as hell. I never move any of my apps to SD for that very reason and just use it mainly for music only.
Again, the GSII has 16GB built in. That's why it doesn't come with one in the box.

Then how come other Samsung phones like the Infuse, which also has 16GB internal storage, came with an SD card? It's not a big deal to me as I already had an 8GB card ready to go but clearly Samsung gutted the package a tad too much. Infuse also came with the HDMI adapter.

A 64gb microsdhc card on eBay for ~$60 shipped from Hong Kong...... not sure if you are aware of this but the majority of these "too good to be true" deals on eBay for microsdhc cards from Asia are fake.
Don't be surprised if it is a counterfeit when you get it. I do not recommend anyone buy microsdhc cards from eBay. There are a lot of fakes out there and most importantly manufacturers will not honor your warranty if something were to go wrong with the card.
Be smart people, spend the extra money and buy from a reputable vendor like newegg, Amazon, bestbuy, staples, etc. You will thank yourself later.

I would advise caution, and use a reputable ebay seller. Mine deserved his 5 stars review from me. I watched 50+gigs of video files get copied and show up and play, so I know I wasn't scammed. It is a genuine red-and-gray Sandisk.
But I won't speak for anyone else's lack of pre-research.
$65 bucks for a 64gb card is outstanding... and lucky for me, I am patient; years of cool and cheap goodies from dealextreme.com under my belt in preparation.
Example: picked up an outstanding leather case for my Note with the drawstrap built in, cost all of $2.60 and shipped for free. Those guys don't seem to care about losing money shipping small items from Hong Kong free.
(no, I did not buy the card from dx.com)
I agree, know what kind of seller they are before making the purchase. eBay isnt all that bad, ive bought hundreds of stuff on there and never got scammed. *knocks on wood*. Also, if you use paypal, you can always dispute an item.

I have Sprint and they are also giving either the 256 GB card or the Gear Fit 2. I already have a 200 GB card so getting the 256 GB card doesn't appeal to me and I have a smart watch and don't really care for the Gear Fit 2.
Memory cards are going for that much on Ebay but the Gear Fit 2 is going for $100+ on Ebay so I guess I am going with the fitness tracker to make a couple buck to pay for this expensive phone.
It's not really a gift, though, since they basically added tne cost of the "gift" into the price of the phine.

i lucked out back when San-Disk was having a sale on Amazon for their 256GB cards and got one for $60, but i'm happy to have the gear fit, i probably will save it as a gift for someone since i still have my Gear 2-- i refuse to upgrade it since it has the camera on there. what smartwatch do you have?

CRAP i forgot about best buy, cause i was so enamored with getting the d*mn thing on VZW's site. but since VZW is giving me trade in value on my old S5, i don't regret it too much. i forgot you could probably pick your phone up in best buy on release day rather than waiting on Fed Ex, huh

I recently bought the Asus Zenwatch 2 and sent my Fitbit Blaze back to Fitbit for a refund. I actually bought a Sandisk Ultra 200gb card off Ebay for $25. The seller got it for free with the LG V10 preorder and had it listed for $50 and I offered $25 and he accepted. I'd say that was the deal of the year for me haha.

Except they aren't doing that at all. Price will be the same with or without the "gifts"

Except every Note has been around $700. Add in the $150 for the Gear Fit 2 and you get the current price for the Note 7 of $850. You can be in denial all you like, but most free gifts are included in the price no matter what they are. You're not getting a free TV with the purchase of a new bed. It's added in the price.
The Note 7 is no different, evidenced by the exorbitant price hike this year.

What about the $250 SD card? That brings the adjusted price of the phone to $600.

I don't know where you got that price from. A 256 GB SD card on Amazon goes for $120-$180. I even saw some 512 GB SD cards for $199. And these are all name brand.
And since Samsung would be buying them in bulk, the cost would be even lower.

Well, I would hope that nobody would pay full price for anything at Best Buy as high as theIr prices are. I always make them price match Amazon if I have to buy anything from them.
No way would I pay $250 for a 256 GB SD card when you can get a 512 GB for $199 at Amazon. That's just ludicrous.

Yea I understand and agree...just telling you what best buy has that card valued at, to counter your argument about the extras being included in the price of the phone, rendering your point moot.

The gift is through Samsung actually. You have to go Samsung website and input your phone info and then choose between Netflix, gear fit 2 or 256gb SD card

I can assure you the point most-definitely hasn't been rendereed moot just because a retailer doubles the price of other retailers.
We don't care what they value the card at. We don't care how much they sell the card for. The real price and value can be found at more reasonable retailers. Rendering my point, perfectly accurate.
Nice try, though.
