Thanks for your work! Always nice to have another O rom for Bacon in the works.

Thank you @jhalayashraj.
Bacon never dies

Wow, have anyone tried it yet? Does UX get lag when installed 50+ apps?
Edit: flash gapps cause a bunch of error and very laggy setup wizard (can't pas it). Without Gapps everything is fine. (Tried both opengapps and slimgapps)

What errors did you run in to exactly? It wasn't totally a smooth process for me but I was able to get through the setup wizard and use the play store.

I show play store stopped, media stopped and more. Yes you can get through setup wizard with struggling; it's not smooth as AOSP, which is big problem to me. I haven't tried it without gapps yet but I think it should be fine BTW very first build of Oreo every bug is expected

i found no sound for incoming call or no voice in ringtone

Camera fix! (thanks to @sefurd for sharing)
Open Root Explorer and browse to Root > System > Vendor > Firmware
Simply Copy all files beginning with name SlimISP**.bin (Total 11)
Now go back to Root Directory > Data folder
If you are asked to grant Root Permissions then simply tap on grant.
Now look for cfw folder which is present in Data folder
Paste all the files which you copied earlier. Now the important step begins.
You will need to set the permissions for all 11 files to 755.
Then reboot the phone. There is a chance the stock camera won't work, but the Google camera will. Stock has always worked for me.

OrionLP is a project based on slim. The name Orion was chosen as a representation of the beauty and vastness of world around us (Too much Philosophy, eh? [emoji14]). We started this project for falcon (Moto G), to make a stable Rom which would include Bitsyko layers and important customization. The Rom is built with Uber toolchain which delivers awesome smoothness and is packed with a custom kernel built from ground-up to ensure good performance [WIP]. Needless to say, this project is a product of our hobbies and the love we bore for Android.

I guess I'm the only one getting this... I get the Orion LP boot screen then the 'Optimizing Apps'. When it finishes optimizing, it just reboots to the Galaxy Note II splash followed by the Orion LP boot screen. Lather. Rinse. Repeat. Forever.
On TWRP 2.8.6.0. Tried it with both zero and mini gapps from the link on the first post, and also tried the latest TKgapps (mini and pico). Thought it might be my download so I re-downloaded it and checked md5 to be certain.

Yea I tried a few times. Oh well. I'll give the next release a shot. I'll keep an eye on the thread for the next update. So far I've had good luck with other t0lte LP ROMs except for this and LiquidSmooth, but I'm a sucker who'll keep trying all new builds. LOL!
Hi,
at first the Rom seems to be very nice.
Nice bootlogo etc.
But when the screen is turned off the phone doent react to any buttons or anything else.
How can i solve this ?
The Rom was installed with a full whipe.
I use TWRP 2.8.7.0 + Agni Kernel 2.8.9 for CM , i tried to whipe Cache and Dalvik.
Thank u for this rom.

Try the ROM out without flashing Agni for CM, because I think this is AOSP/Slim based and using Agni CM will cause some issues.
Or use the Agni smdk4x12 version which provides more compatibility.

As observed in the above post, Face unlock is about to disappear soon from most of the Custom ROMs, sadly.
Why?
- Y'all might be aware of the SenseTime SDK takedown request to LineageOS for using proprietary HALs. Well, in case you dunno, the existing faceunlock implementation uses Lenovo's proprietary implementation reverse-engineered.
- Guess what? The same story happens again... Hence, press F for face unlock guys!(?)
What's next?
- Since the code is precious, there could be patches, or private builds, maybe something out of the box...
That's it, guys! hope you enjoy IR Face unlock while it lasts

Why would face unlock disappear from custom roms because it came from lenovo? I don't get.

Custom roms are free to build because all the code is open source. But the sdk used for the faceunlock is lets say copyrighted. You cant just use it. Lenovo made or payed somebody to use it. So they own it and we have no right to use it even if it was reverse engineered. Hope that explains it
How is the gaming performance of this ROM compared to Corvus 3.5

Thanks for the warning I downloaded the 1224 build a couple of hours ago and it worked.
Only problem could be for some users that the build doesn't get the certified from play store.
So some people might have to sideload their apps as you can't download them from the play store now

You will lose the LTE functionality then as that isn't included in the rom as far as I see.

Not yet, I'll make one soon for gtaxllte
Build for t585 please)
Latest chrome update keeps force closing. Everything else works fine for what I saw.
After a couple of days of using this rom I found this.
Headphone bug is there for some users like on the other 10 roms.
Latest chrome version keeps crashing this bug isn't pressent with another 10 rom, firefox or another browser works fine.
SOT is around 5 hours.
The tablet heats up at the side where the buttons are, isn't pressent with another 10 rom.
It lost its certified status, this could be a problem for some apps, but the other latest 10 roms now also lost there certified status.
For the rest this is the only things I noticed and the rest works like it should so far for me
Same for me with Chrome Browser force closing with latest update. Also auto rotate seems buggy, sometimes works after messing around with the rotation angles settings but most of the time it does not.
There was an update to Google Chrome through the Google Play Store after the initial 2020-04-24 release of this ROM (Evolution X 4.20.2) and using that updated version of Google Chrome, it did show any crashes during the time I tested it.
This ROM definitely got very much improved batter power time compared to the last official ROM that I got as an official OTA update anyway, in case anyone was wondering.
Apart from that of course also being very much more up to date against known security vulnerabilities and added features.
Can anyone let me know if adoptable storage is or is not working?
Seems to be a common issue among non lineage based ROMs so not willing to try without it confirmed working but ROM looks great
New update available!
Evolution X 4.3 for gtaxlwifi
Shouldn't have any problems with chrome, as I tested
And I'm planning to support gtaxllte too soon btw
can you guys confirm that adoptable storage is working?
thanks

Just wanted to check what "latest TWRP" means...is this v3.3.1 or can 3.2.3 work also?
Hi, thanks for the great rom. However, I seem to be having this issue with quickstep:
(From here https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-quickswitch-universal-quickstep-t3884797 )
Setting the provider is successful but it still didn't work after a reboot
type this command in a terminal
Code:
su -c cmd overlay dump xyz.paphonb.quickstepswitcher.overlay
If you see this line:
Code:
mState.................: STATE_NO_IDMAP
You need to ask your rom maintainer to add this commit. only for your device, it will cause issues on other devices.
Another fix you can do yourself if that happens is enter this command in a root environment (If stuffs breaks after doing this delete the .replace file through ADB).
Code:
mkdir -p /data/adb/modules/quickstepswitcher/system/vendor/overlay && touch /data/adb/modules/quickstepswitcher/system/vendor/overlay/.replace

Sheeesh, when will people learn that Volte won't be on any aosp or los based rom, its Samsung's propietary code which makes volte work.
Do your research.

This was a major stumbling block for me also, but I have found a workaround that works for me and I am not looking back to bloated, slow OneUI.
I'm lucky enough that we still have 850Mhz 3G as part of our network mix. The 850Mhz wavelength is shaped in such a way that it can easily penetrate double brick internal and external walls.
The widget below by cygery can toggle the 3G/ LTE network from my home screen, or can be set up with tasker or ITTT. Basically I use 4G when I'm out, and 3G + Wifi when I'm home and no longer rely on Wifi Calling to make sure that my calls come through.
https://labs.xda-developers.com/store/app/com.cygery.togglenetworktype.xda
After a few weeks on Evox, then Bootleggers there is absolutely no way I'd go back to OneUI roms. Aside from wifi calling/ volte, there isn't a single feature that can't be replicated with some 3rd party tool or another, and in exchange you get double the battery life and amazing performance. Rob and others have done an amazing job on these roms and are keeping them up to date. Some even have OTA updates!
My advice to you all, unless you are on Jio or some other garbage provider that doesn't actually have calls or sms and relies on mobile data for all services...gives these roms a go! The level of customisation as well as the fantastic UI performance is worlds ahead of anything being done on OneUI based roms.
Extremely impressive work by those building, and those maintaining upstream as well. Very happy to have access to these as it will probably mean I get another year or two out of this device.
lovely rom. I use google pay. but safety net is failing. anyone got same problem. have you found a way round it. thanks

SECURITY ADVICE
Don't flash ROMs or Magisk modules which set SELinux to permissive or you welcome malware on your device!
Install Latest Firmware
Grab the Sony Stock firmware using e.g. XPeriFrim. You should always flash the firmware matching the LOS build.
Grab newflasher and put it in the same folder as the firmware files.
Read the newflasher original post on XDA for general instructions!
Remove the following from the folder so they won't get flashed:
all *.ta files (keep the one in the boot/ directory)
Turn off your phone
Hold the volume down button and attach it via USB to your system till you see LED turning green
Run newflasher from within this directory to flash the remaining files
Skip the second optional step (dumping of trim area), it's useless if your bootloader is unlocked already and takes a long time.
Hit Yes for all the next questions asked in Newflasher(Only dumpin of trim area should be selected no and rest all questions should be selected as yes.
Once Newflasher flashes the Stock rom, boot into it and make sure volte is available.(VOLTE WILL NOT WORK ON BLISS IF YOU DO NOT HAVE IT IN STOCK ROM.
Incase you are not able to see volte icon in stock either your carrier does not support it or there is an issue with the stock rom(Try flashing it again).
Once you confirm Volte is available in stock, Flash the TWRP recovery and follow below instructions carefully.
Boot into recovery >> Format Data >> Power off the Phone.
Again boot into recovery >> Format Data >> Power off the Phone.
This time boot into recovery >> Wipe Internal Storage.
Flash ROM, Gapps, Magisk.
In the setup wizard select SIM 1 as the default sim for calls data and message.
Once Boot is complete, wait patiently for few mins.
Voilllaa you should have volte and dual sim both enabled.
Google Apps
You can download and install the Google Apps from opengapps.org. You need ARM64 and 10.x. I suggest to *always* use the pico or nano package. If you need additional apps you find them in the Play Store.
MicroG
This ROM does support Signature Spoofing. However we are watching MicroG and check if they provide newer builds e.g. for Android Pie.

Do I need to unlock my bootloader first, before installing this rom? Btw, Thank you for your effort.

Apologies for this dumb question, I'm very new to this and I really want to try this Rom. How can I tell if my downloaded firmware is matched with the LOS build?

If don't know what it's it, then please inform yourself, you will may loose guarantee if you unlock bootloader.
Please take into account that I am far from being a professional adviser.
Unlocking the bootloader means loosing the TA partition which contains some keys from the producer, every device has it's own dev keys.
Without them, the camera, for example, won't have the same performance with stock firmware. Or you won't be able to turn on advanced features for video playing.
They can be restored if you've backed them up.
I didn't backed them up but I don't miss stock that much.

Oh I see. Thank you very much for your patience. I'll ask google how to. One more thing, are you using this ROM for your daily driver? If so, what is the model of your phone? Mine is G8342. I'm sorry for asking too much.
Update: working, my download was corrupted

Is my second phone but I use it daily.
This Rom is stable, very stable, it seems that everything works, at least everything important. On the other hand you can find minor bugs on stock firmwares. Device G8341
To install in short
Unlock bootloader, see Sony site
Install the stock firmware with new flasher, using computer, see YouTube
Install twrp for poplar by computer, see xda posts, twrp helps you install custom ROMs and other programs for root, 3.3.0 and 3.4.0 (or something like that) are the latest versions, any of them is good.
Install Rom by entering twrp, see first post.
DO NOT SKIP ANY STEP from these guides above.
Once you will install a few custom ROMs you will know when you can do that
