App update crashes phone, now in bootloop - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have Oneplus One running CM11 44s Kitkat 4.4.4
So I updated Facebook app and as soon as it updated, my phone rebooted and entered bootloop. I entered Safe mode and uninstalled FB, but now all apps are randomly crashing. Trebuchet stops working, cant access settings, Settings stopped working. This all happens continuously.
So I formatted and reinstalled CM11 44s, but in this fresh OS, as soon as I install Facebook, all of the above crashing n all, starts allover again!!
Again, I flashed a fresh copy of CM11 and decided not to install FB this time, but as soon as I install/update any app , everything crashes and phone enters bootloop. (I downloaded a fresh copy of CM11 incase the one I had was corrupted)
What is the problem is beyond me! Please help.
P.S: I installed Nougat after this and it ran fine with all apps, but I went back to CM11 and again I am stuck.
Please help!!

My bro same happened to me.

What did you do then ? Were you able to rectify the problem?

I deal with it by booting to twrp and deleting /data/app/facebook.katana and /data/data/facebook.katana
Phone works fine.

You are just removing FB, but that doesnt solve my problem. Why is this happening and how to fix this is the issue. And I am unable to update or install anyother app too!

Why is this happening is the same reason I've been banging my head for 2 Days.Since the fb update came.

I have the same problem as yours.
Uninstalled FB, Telegram and couple other apps to avoid the bootloop.
Busybox doesn't solve the issue.

I have upgraded to Sultan Resurrection Remix running on Nougat 7.0 and have not been facing any issues since past 2 months now!

[ROM] LG Lifeless Rom [ATT] [1/21] [Beta] [Aroma]

Hi All,
I Wrote an Aroma Installer so you can now pick and choose your modifications and launchers. Please do a full wipe
I called this Lifeless to remove most of the bloat and LG launcher but still keeping LG essentials. It's not exactly AOSP, but it's something
Aroma seems to be freezing up on people with ATT devices. I'm working on this. I restored the link for the people who have had luck
http://upload.goo.im/public_html/Roms/Stable/Att/Lifelessv10Att.zip
Recommend TWRP and Backup
1. Wipe Caches
2. Factory Wipe
3. Install Zip
4. Restart
5. Let ROM sit for 5 minutes
6. Restart Device

S3 Stuck in a boot loop, need help

Hello guys
I've been searching for a few days how to fix this problem but nothing helps, so I came to ask here.
I've tried flashing emergency firmware , also with .pit files ; tried repairing it with KIES too. Nothing.
It's S3 Blue 16gb version.
It's impossible to get into recovery , but I managed to get in it with CWM(after trying at least 100 times) , and these are the errors I got.

It shows Samsung galaxy S III logo and stays there or reboots all the time.
I can get into download mode and flash whatever I want with odin, but whatever I flash, same issue.
Looking forward to your advices/help. Anything would be appriciated.

I had that issue before. Try to update your version of CWM or just change and use philz TWRP. Then wipe/format data, system, cache and dalvik then try again to flash the rom of your choice :fingers-crossed:

I need to try like 100x times to just get into CWM and then when i try to wipe I get those errors I posted in photos.
Philz / TWRP doesn't even want to boot into them.
When I boot into recovery there is android standing and some sort of progress bar and it starts to fill and the phone restarts to galaxy logo again..

Phone issues, HELP!

So here's the story..
I recently decided to root my Galaxy s6 Edge 6.0.1. The root worked fine.
However, I found out that it caused the default phone app to not work properly. I could call and receive calls, but neither of us could hear each other.
I downloaded this one app that can modify system apps. I went to the phone app, backed it up, deleted, and tried to re install. However.. It failed me. It would not let me use the backup I had created, and just let me to the google play store.
After trying so many things to fix it, I ended up just removing the root, and factory reset my phone. Now I have a new problem. It wont even let me call anyone. It tells me "Unfortunately com.android.phone has stopped working". Now I tested it to see if it was the actual phone. I downloaded WhatsApp and tried calling from there. It worked fine, and I could hear the other person and they could hear me. Which lead me to believe that it was a problem with the systems phone.
Is there anyway to get that back? What can I do? Please help, I literally just voided my warranty 24 hours ago and now it's about to bite me in the ass....

TWRP RECOVERY Built from latest 7.1 source

This recovery is built from latest twrp source 7.1. should work on every version of R1HD phone.
this twrp adds ability to reverse navbar layout.
install TWR app
and so on.
after install I recommend
Settings > Restore Defaults.
Then setup recovery how you want.
I haven't installed the TWRP app as it doesn't contain anything for our device, but it is a feature added in the 7.1 source, perhaps our device will be added some day.
I do use the Reversed Navbar layout though.

Must be the boot.img you are using, not correct settings, forcing bootloader to select system instead of recovery.

Probably needs to be repacked correctly, So bootloader understands it correctly, has nothing to due with recovery.
Recovery send command to bootloader, then bootloader decides what to do.
If everything is OK, bootloader sends reboot to recovery if not sends to system.

Daily driver.
I downloaded the zip and tried to flash it. In TWRP it starts to extract files with the progress bar only a 1/4 of the way over and after about 10 seconds it reboots back into recovery as if it crashed. I figured it was a bad download so I downloaded it again and tried a second time and same thing. not sure if it a bad upload or what I am doing wrong. I am using rooted version. Thanks
