J7 Pro camera has fixed f/1.7 aperture which is bad at Hight Light conditions! - Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) Guides, News, & Discussio

Hello,
I have got my new J7 Pro (SM-J730F/DS) Smartphone.
It has amazing features regarding the missed gorilla glass :crying:
It features a 13 MP rear camera with an aperture of f/1.7
They say it's good for low light conditions. but what about sunlight.
actually, I miss my old Xperia SP 8MP camera with f/2.4 aperture!
Xperia SP camera has better colors than my new J7 Pro.

I miss the feature too! It was awesome! Samsung, please put it back. I've enjoyed using it in my S5, S7 and now missing it on S9...

I might have to return the s9 and keep the s8. The main reason I'm staying with samsung phones because of the dual camera recording mode. Have any1 noticed videos freezes in s9 when playing previous recorded dual camera mode?
Hello everybody, there is a new app called DuoVision Camera that records and takes picture from both front and back cameras simultaneously, and even has the retro frame with todays date. Check it out on playstore https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sec.android.app.camera.duovisioncamera&hl=en. Enjoy !

works like this with videos and photos
Short answer: most likely no.
From what I understand you want a joint picture between the 2 cameras. That doesn't exist AFAIK. The only thing u can get with *some* cameras is a small window on the back camera that houses the image from the front camera. I think Sony had that feature on one extension... But it's pretty much impossible to port. There must be other apps that support this but certainly not full on 360. How would you use 2 *different* cameras for this? You'd have dramatic differences in quality, locked white balance and exposure (if you want a viable image at all) etc..

nah, there just isnt, shouldnt be much of a problem (for me atleast)
I suspect most people did not switch the settings from FHD on the S7 and on to QHD in display settings. Most people won't notice the difference. The screen is great on the note 10

Still, original definition of Note series was over the top best hardware around with everything except kitchen sink, not budget phone with premium price. Note series was one the first phablets on the market, one of the first with 4k video recording etc. So instead of saying like we used to " I didn't know Note had humidity sensor , heart/o2 monitors, IR blaster or 4k video recording" now you say " I didn't know there is no notification LED, no phone jack, no heart monitor" , kind of very dissapointing if you ask me, at least they kept s-pen

General Apple implements 2x portrait zoom - Samsung removes it

On my previous phone Galaxy S21 Ultra there´s a 2x portrait zoom option.

On my new phone Galaxy s23 Ultra this feature has been removed.
Does anyone knows why or how to get it back?
The standard lens is to wide for portraits and faces gets distorted. But I'm in most cases to close to the subject to use the 3x. I love the 2x digital zoom option. And I can't understand why Samsung removed this option. Also the 200mp sensor would be ideal for digital 2x zoom. Iphone recently introduced 2x digital zoom and made kind of a big deal out of it.
And what about S22 Ultra? Is there a 2x option?
As a workaround, you can apply portrait effect after the fact in the gallery app so you can always take a picture in 1x, then apply portrait and crop.
Granted it's not remotely as convenient as having a 2x option in camera... Hopefully they add it back in a future update
Thank you PhilMorin for your reply.
I didn´t know the gallery app had this feature. I will check it out!
To avoid the work of manually cropping and also reducing megapixels you could tap the 1x zoom and then 2x that appears (But this can't be done in portrait mode).

Question Looking for a decription, which lense at the backside is serving which camera functionality I can chose ...!
