wiped /vendor, did i just brick my phone? - Honor 9 Questions & Answers

Hi all,
i got a quick question.
I recently got my Honor 9 (STF-L09) and tried to get the linage rom to work.
In the process i wiped /vendor with TWRP. (without backing up the original)
I tried to flash the provided vendor.zip which resulted in the Following Error:
Code:
[COLOR="Red"]Zip file is corrupt![/COLOR]
which i "solved" by extracting the .img and exectuting the following command in the shell:
Code:
dd if=/sdcard/TWRP/vendor.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/vendor_a
now if i try flashing the linage.zip i get the following Error:
Code:
E3004: This package is for device: hi3660,stf; this device is duk.
[COLOR="red"]Updater process ended with ERROR: 7
.[/COLOR]
Q: Is there a way to get this fixed or at least go back?
any help would be appreciated.
also, if this isn't the right place for this post, please kindly point out where to post this.

I'm with the same problem as you, have you solved it?

Hi,
i am at work at the moment.
Unfortunately i haven't solved this jet.
Tonight i'll look for the stock vendor.img and try to flash that.
Then see where this gets us.
we're gonna solve this my friend.

If you can still enter Fastboot and TWRP you could try flashing the original ROM with this. In the update packages is also a vendor.img which you could extract with the Huawei Update Extractor.

[SOLVED] Soft-bricked Honor 9 while trying to root

I'm not sure if this properly constitutes a soft-brick, but it's left me with an unusable OS at the least.
I was attempting to root my new honor 9 (STF-AL10) using TWRP and SuperSU, but TWRP had a permission denied error whilst flashing SuperSU (I forget the exact error :S). Since then I've spent 2 days just attempting to revert to stock, abandoning my root plans in despair.
My present situation is that I can boot into fastboot and flash recoveries OK, I can get into TWRP and stock recovery (whichever is flashed), and I can get into Android but with apps and features missing (such as the back and menu buttons!) I've tried many guides on flashing stock, but I either end up with an incomplete OS, or the stock recovery just says the update is incompatible. I'm at a loss with how to fix this at this point. Surely it is fixable given that I can get into fastboot and recovery? Does anyone have any similar experience, or advice on flashing stock from any state?
SOLVED
I managed to install a stock rom finally using the method here
The link to HWOTA.zip is broken, but I found it here
I had to fiddle with the HWOTA script a little to get it to work, in particular there is an typo:
Code:
$ADB shell "dd if=/tmp/oeminfo of=/dev/block/platform/hi_mci.0/by-name/oeminfo"
should be
Code:
$ADB shell "dd if=/tmp/oeminfo.bin of=/dev/block/platform/hi_mci.0/by-name/oeminfo"
I used this rom, and had to rebrand using HWOTA to STF-L09432.
After that the EMUI updater worked and installed the rom, and everything was fine. The only issue I've come across so far is that the updater seems to be missing, so I guess I'll have to manually update the rom in future. I was also able to re-flash TWRP and install SuperSU afterwards which was a bonus.

Huawei mate 10 pro wont boot at all. Please help.!!

Hello,
I was wondering if some could help me please. I wanted to flash RR Rom 6.0 on my BLA-L09(I think that what's it is) phone.
I was able to unlock my boot loader, and flash TWRP my device but my dumb s*** flashed TWRP to my file system use FLASH SYSTEM instead of FLASH RECOVERY. Now, I can't fix it ?. I know I can use sideload so I'm not panicking just yet however I know I messed up the file system.
Could someone tell me what file system system I should be using (fat, exfat, ext4, etc...) and what to do to get this think to boot backup.?
I've tried and side loading "update_full_BLA-L29_hw_la.zip" stock ROM but no luck... I keep getting this error message:
"check_write_data_to_partition,write data error
Update_huawei_pkg_from_ota_zip: update package from zip failed

Just boot to fastboot, flash RR to system and TWRP to recovery_ramdisk?

Phone Stuck

I have a redmi 5 plus. I managed to install TWRP via ADB as suggested by the official page. Then, the phone entered the bootloop. I loaded the ZIPs of a custom rom also from ADB, because I did not have another way, I made the wipes and tried to install the rom. It is version 8.1 AOSPExtended. When I do, I get the error "Assert failed: vince.verify_trustzone (" TZ.BF.4.0.5-152683 ") ==" 1 "" Updater process ended with error: 7. Could someone help me? I can not find the solution!
Thanks in advance
You should try to install twrp_3.2.2-0 again using fastboot, reboot into recovery, mount your device storage, copy ROM you want to install and try to install it.
And you can try method described here.
Have a nice day.
Same problem
I'm having the same issue, did you solve the problem? If you have solved the problem, please can you help me.

Honor 7A bootloop after patching wrong boot.img

Hello guys,I tried to root my Honor 7A with no success and now I'm in a bootloop situation.
I first unlocked bootloader succesfully with dc-unlocker2client. Then I installed this TWRP version 0.4 with adb fastboot:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-lite/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-1-0-t3783447
I couldn't get other TWRP to work. Finally in TWRP I tried to install Magicsk (several versions-18,17,16) but it came up with error 1.
I've dowloaded stock rom AUM-L29C185CUSTC185D1B140 from official site, extracted ABOOT.img, tried to flash it but no success, something wrong with partition, but I cant recall exactly. Then I accidentally did this: fastboot flash ramdisk ABOOT.img .Bootloop!!
I tried to flash extracted ramdisk,kernel,recovery_ramdisk again but still the same issue.I did 2 factory resets in stock recovery but the problem persists.
Please can anyone help?Is my phone wasted??
Anyone please?

[SOLVED] Realme 7 Pro Android 11/RUI 2.0 Firmware

Hello!
I don't think this question needs much information about my phone, so I'll just say:
I live in Europe, Poland. My model is: Rmx2170; I wanted to install a Custom ROM (Evolution X), but it requires android 11.
I was searching for quite a long time and still haven't found any WORKING Android 11, RUI 2.0 Firmware. And I came here to ask:
Does anyone have any of these / Know where I could get it?
Thanks
I found this file there.
Sadly, when installing the ROM on the recovery screen, I get this error:
Code:
Updater process ended with ERROR: 1
Error installing ZIP file '/external_sd/RMX2170_11_C.29.zip'
And with ADB & Sideload, I get this error:
Code:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>adb sideload C:\Users\Jacob\Downloads\RMX2170_11_C.29.zip
adb: failed to read command: No error
Things I did, Recovery I used:
The Recovery Screen I used (the newest version on the page)
(starting from a device with only the recovery screen and no system)
So, first I Formatted Data and Wiped: Dalvik / Art Cache, Data and Cache just to be sure.
Then I tried to install the firmware that I posted above, using the recovery screen, and got this error:
Code:
Updater process ended with ERROR: 1
Error installing ZIP file '/external_sd/RMX2170_11_C.29.zip'
Then I wiped: Dalvik / Art Cache, Data and Cache again and tried to install it via. Sideload:
Code:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>adb sideload C:\Users\Jacob\Downloads\RMX2170_11_C.29.zip
and got this error:
ADB: failed to read command: No error
Then I did the same stuff, but with one difference:
After every wipe, I would boot into the system and wait until it downloads (until I would see the language selection screen)
BUT I got the same errors...
By "wipe" I meant: Formatting data, and then wiping: Dalvik / Art Cache, Data and Cache.
My device:
Model: RMX2170
Last Used ROM: Android 10, RUI 2.0, Realme 7 Pro Firmware, I forgot the exact version.
Custom Recovery Screen (the latest on that site)
Trying to install: This Firmware (RUI 2.0), Android 11 (RMX2170_11_C.29.zip)
Does anyone know what could be causing this/ how to fix it?

Before someone smarter replies, try installing C20 (RMX2170PU_11_OTA_c20.zip). I call it a starter for custom 11 installations.
Also don't forget to flash vbmeta.img and patched_boot.img, you can find them on the telegram channel.

Eh, I wanted to have the European version
But you can't have everything in life, I guess.
(I did NOT flash patched_boot.img because it corrupted my stuff)
(Also, I am not sure did I do the vbmeta.img thingie. I forgot, sorry.)
Nonetheless, the RMX2170PU_11_OTA_c20.zip works like a charm.
Thanks!
