If I recall correctly, Sure, but you need an unlocked bootloader as well as TWRP recovery which is compiled / ported for your device.

Download your stock rom. Extract boot.img file from it then patch that file with magisk. Unlock you device's bootloader and flash that boot image. If you want help send boot.img to me so i can patch it and give you.

I can't unlock my bootloader

3. How to install twrp
4. If i stuck on bootloop then how to reboot phone as well as how to reboot from bootloader without pc because we can't remove battery
Plz help
Thanks i andvance
First of all you need to apply for permission at http://en.miui.com/unlock/ to unlock your bootloader
Then u need to use MiUnlock tool to unlock your bootloader
Then you can flash twrp using same old fastboot
There are so many threads for stock roms in development section.
And you need to use MiFlash instead of odin to flash stock firmware
You can boot to bootloader by holding power+vol down if you stuck in bootloop

Clarify whether you have already unlocked your bootloader, as you mentioned you unlocked your phone. I understood that to mean that you unlocked the bootloader.
The instructions are all over everywhere.
I too came from a Samsung so I know exactly what you think. The only thing you have to do differently is unlock the bootloader and there are clear instructions out there to do so. Flashing TWRP is about the same, so you can decide which version you wish to use. I use the standard but I started out using Cofface so perhaps you should consider using TWRP Alka or Cofface.
Flashing SuperSU is the same with TWRP as doing it on a Samsung. That isn't different.
I already download twrp 3.0.2.2 Official but how to install this twrp my device??

Google is your friend.

Unlocked bootloader. Do I need to flash boot.img before flashing TWRP?

System Configuration:
ROM: MIUI Global 8.1.25 | Beta
Kernel: 3.10.84-perf-g1cb6922
RAM: 2.00 GB
Device: Redmi note 3 (kenzo) with officially unlocked bootloader.
There are a number of tutorials and posts on XDA and YouTube with varying content. Some of them do not flash the boot.img, some of them do.
I will be using Ubuntu to flash using adb and fastboot. Any suggestions regarding that would be great.
Here are the steps I think I should follow ( from the posts I read):
1. Boot into fastboot.
2. Flash twrp-**.img
3. Boot into TWRP recovery.
4. Flash SuperSU
5. Flash Lazyflasher
Would that sequence cause any problem?
No problem, just flash twrp without prior boot.img flashing.

yes the steps you're mentioned above is correct, you don't have to flash boot.img. just do the steps above.

Thank you, bud! I have successfully install TWRP and also installed RR Rom on my Redmi Note 3. However, I have now lost root access.
I tried flashing the SuperSU.zip again, but to no avail. Where did I go wrong? How can I get root access back?

Thanks! Worked like charm. But I now lost root after installing RR custom Rom.
hey
I'm glad it worked, would you be so kind to post the links for those files you mentioned?
Also I'm on the latest stable Miui 9(snapdragon), will it work for me?

I recommend you to use magisk as a root access. To be safe you need to make clean flash your rom again , who's know maybe superSu already exists in your system but not appear on apps drawer by doing this your device will be cleaned from anything that can cause you into bootloop. First download magisk and magisk manager and place it in phone memory or SD card it's up to you and then reboot to TWRP ,wipe everything cache , dalvik cache , system and data then flash rom , gapps and magisk.. reboot. Search for magisk at XDA and download it.

TWRP: Go to official website and download latest version
SuperSU: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=385035244224394155
lazy-flasher: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767111293
I am not sure if it would work, but I was also on MIUI 9 and it worked for me. Hopefully, someone else here will be able to let you know. AFAIK, it should work.

Hello, I updated to Q and can't get it rooted.
It bootlooped.
How can I root Android Q?
visit: h t t p s : / / twrp.me/site/update/2019/10/23/twrp-and-android-10.html
As, if now you cannot. For Android Q, it's still in research.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Never tried but: ClockworkMod Recovery – a past alternative to TWRP custom recovery.
h t t p s : / / en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ClockworkMod#ClockworkMod_Recovery
Research over it & let me know if anything worked for you-!
I successfully roote Q with this ?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/universal-dm-verity-forceencrypt-t3817389
I just flash TWRP, format and flash custom rom. Rooted.
First of all. What device do you have and what exactly have you tried? Include references.
Remember first step is to search before asking.

I would recommend you flashing custom firmware, like the one in my signature. Everything is working, including Security Folder.

Which TWRP version you used and how did you install TWRP on a non-rooted phone? Do you not have to use Magisk to root the phone first?

This isn't true I flashed Twrp 3.5.091 via Odin, S9+ exynos android 10, then flashed Magisk 21.4.
When I got phone it was android 10 June 2020 security update. It then updated again to 21/02/2021 ota.. I was able to flash recovery twrp and root/debloat. Only problem I did find is that I cannot flash lineage 18.1 or any custom roms.

hey ,
1.install magisk manager on your phone
2.download the firmware from samfirmware for your model of phone to pc
3.download 7zip with lz4
4. use 7zip lz4 to extract boot img from AP(firmware)
5. send the xtracted boot.img to phone sdcard and use magisk manager to patch said image .
6. send the patched img to pc and use 7zip to create archive as boot.tar file
7. one you install the firmware as normal via odin (disable auto reboot ) go back and disconnect/reconnect usb from phone so it appears as added in odin once more.
8. add the boot.tar file to AP in odin and flash the phone , reboot system and install magisk manager again , go into magisk and it will reboot again to fix the root.
there is a video somwhere on youtube showing you better than ive tried to here.
this is by far he best way as you can still take ota updates because stock recovery is still present .
regards

Hi there
Simply Download magisk.zip and flash it via TWRP
And be sure that your TWRP is not on only read mode
BTW: which phone you have?
Does the bootloader unlocked?
If you have s9 or "+ or note 9 you can't do this
And please give us more information about error

I didn't hear that phone before
But make sure that your USBdebug is enabled and use proper cable
Sreach at Google to install TWRP
Then just flash magisk.zip at that and your phone will esally root able
And if you didn't find any way to install TWRP try to root your phone via king root or etc
But the best way is to install magisk
