LG V30 Sensor list (Does is have barometer sensor? ) - LG V30 Questions & Answers

Could U Please update sensor lists using CPU- Z apps. Please Upload Screen Short of CPU-Z . Please also specify ur LG V30 Phone model number. thanks

I don't have that app but I did open Google's Science Journal app and it is reading barometric pressure readings. I didn't see anything too crazy outside of that though.

Lots of sites say no.
Comparing to iPhone or Samsung phones, they list barometer in those phones but not the LG V30.

Android: help to clone perfectly an iphone camera (Sony sensor)

Hi.
I need help to understand which are the main components and factors that can make hard or possible to clone perfectly
the iphone 4s/5s camera, that for what I know is an IMX-145 Sony sensor.
I read in the past a comment of a moderator that the sensor itself is not sufficient but there are other factor to consider like optics, post processing etc.
Now we are in 2014..... I can't imagine that can be so hard just to find a way, expensive or cheap, to make the same camera for android seen that the sensor component of Sony it's avaible.
Can some expert in the forum please explain in few and simple details which are the components we can clone and which not, to replicate such camera on an android smartphone?
Please help thank you
I thought the difference was software?

Using Redmi 3 with Google Play and Cardboard

Hi all.
I just took delivery of a Redmi 3 in Switzerland, bought from an online vendor. The unit was pre-configured for English, had the Mi market replaced with Google Play, and very few pre-installed apps. The MIUI version shows
MIUI Global 7.1|Stable
71.91.99(LHPCNCK)
I have not rooted it, but have replaced the Mi Launcher with Nova for a familiar look.
The only real thing I miss is the lack of 5GHz wifi, which gives me poorer reception at home. But I also have a couple of questions:
While I appreciate Google Play being installed (and default), am I missing anything important in NOT having the MiUI apps store installed, or not having a Mi account?
I want to use this phone with Google Cardboard. But, in use, while the VR works fine when head turning up-and-down, it doesn't respond when moving side-to-side. The Compass app seems to work OK (if a little jittery). Is there some calibration that I need to do? Or is it just not possible?
There's a setting under Network->More called "wireless display". Does anyone know what this is, if I can use this to display my phone's screen on a bigger display? Is it Miracast, something else? It would be great if I could use this feature.
Many thanks for any suggestions. And this is just after day 1!
i believe that's problem with Redmi 3 it self, since it also happen on me, when i use cardboard it deosn't work properly ( ithink there is something with sensor, not sure if it hardware or software)
as you MIUI version, if you only need english language, go flash via Mi flash an official Rom or even perhaps Developer Rom (curently v.6.3.25) it's stable at least for me, also battery is good for few days (more than 2 day battery life-depend on how you use the phone)
Many Redmi 3 user also expirience the same problem. Because there is no real gyro hardware. U can check it from CIT mode. Akm or bosch sensor suffer jittering but only a few Yas sensor got the problem, by disabling the magnet in the cardboard. Like my device sensor is akm so i cant use vr but that ok i fell sick when using vr (borrowing my friends vr). I still hoping its only a software problem. Coz there is no gyro hardware, some said its an emulated compas and accelerometer sensor. If its true may be an OP or DEV can make the fix
I have the same problem, it's impossible to pan sideways, just up and down, it makes Cardboard useless. Hope someone can find a fix to this problem!

Some can, some is not. If your vision jitter, try not to use the magnet. See if it still jitter or not.

Bluboo S1 - Anyone succeeded in upgrading sensors (proximity and light sensor) ?

A friend of mine bought a Bluboo S1 on august.... it now has firmware V10_20170818 ... no proximity sensor working and no light sensor working... a total disaster...
Bluboo itself released on its site a firmware upgrade ( 2,2 Gb of compressed files...) called Upgrade Sensor s1 which promise, after a long procedure, to activate both sensors... they also showed the complete procedure in a youtube video, but the video itself is in chinese language so that for the rest of non chinese readers/speakers it' s very difficult to understand step by step...
Anyone of you succeeded in activting those sensors ?
As far as it concerns, we understood that bluboo released two different stock of the same phone : the first stock has firmware Vxxxxxxx (and no working sensors), the second stock has firware L-Vxxxx and sensors already working. We tried to flash firmware L_V01 on my friend's phone, but no sensor war activated by this firmware.-... it seems the only way to activate those damend sensors is to installate the "upgrade sensors S1" released by bluboo but we can not understand how to do because we think the file itself is corrupted....
Anyone can help ?
Thank you in advance
Hey,
yes, I succesfully completed all steps and verified them on my Bluboo S1 (white). I even checked that the config data was succesfully transfered to the Goodix GT 5663 chipset. However, the FW BLUBOO_S1_Helio_P25_V10_20170818 does still not give correct light or proximity sensor readings.
I wonder if the sensors start working if I installed a "BLUBOO_S1_Helio_P25_L_04_20170908" firmware. If you can advise where to get the latest firmware I'll b glad to try and explain all steps in detail.
My second S1 (black) came with that firmware and it works perfectly.
Best regards
Dr.Go
the sensors still not work either on L04 or L02
those firmwares are for the second batch of bluboo s1 which support physical sensors
Regardless I have followed the steps and installed the P25_L_V01 FW update. The sensors still give no reading. I hve looked at the small sensor window closely and came to the conslusion that - just as drgalan stated - there simpy are no physical sensors in the first batch of devices.
I really wonder why Bluboo has put that complicated update procedure on its official support forum anyway: ht:cyclops:tp://www.bluboo.hk/community/viewtopic.php?t=604 ?
What a nuisance ...
Regards,
Dr.Go
I can not believe bluboo simply forgot to install those sensors... I read somewhere else that after flashing the update sensors s1 someone , with no sensor working, used a trial apk (can not rimember if it was cpu-z or something else... I don't have this device ... ) and the sensor where detected as present but not working....
I think it finally comes down to this: The chipset Goodix GT 5663 is allways installed. It supports the multitouchpad a.s.o. so it must be there and that is why the sensor itself is detected. However, the tiny infrared/photodiode and proximity sensor is missing on some devices, presumably the first production batch. This is an epic fail and we can only speculate why that has happened. Maybe that component was sold out at that time or it was simply forgotten. Who knows? I got a ticket open with Bluboo HK but I doubt there will be any reaction.
Later I will double check if the tiny window is really empty. But, well, I think so ...
Best,
Dr.Go
I have checked very carefully with a looking glass and as a matter of fact the space below the tiny window is empty. There simply is no sensor installed though the chipset supports it. Period. At least in one of the devices I have.
hi dr.go. how u managed to upload the .cfg to the phone file with guitartest platform?
Hi all! I bought this phone and the proximity sensor seem to be working but it only register two values, either youre close or youre not. The light sensor doesn't seem to be working as there is no option for auto screen light. Althought if you install any cpu-z or program like this, it will the detect the sensor in the hardware.
I've updated with upgrade sensores s1 Andrés próximo turno sensor works bit light sensor doesn't works yet.
I think our phone doesn't hace that sensor
Guys, Should we do a mass complain with Bluboo? That and also the bloatware?
Light Sensor & VoLTE _not_ working.
I received my S1 only yesterday and the first thing I did was to upgrade to the v10 firmware. I can confirm the following:
1) Proximity sensor : Working : The display goes off when I am in a call. (This should be good enough for most ?)
2) Ambient Light Sensor : NOT Working (No sensor values in CPU-Z for light sensor)
3) VoLTE : NOT Working (Reliance JIO network is detected, data works, but calls using native phone app NOT working.)
What about the bloatware. I didn't find many, honestly...
hi.
i have a bluboo s1 black with 18.08.2017 firmware and proximity sensor not work.
where i can find the L04 firmware..and how can update?

How can i do that?????
i have bluboo S1 Helio P25 I V04 20170908 5/8/2017 Bluboo S1 4Gb Ram black
I have an early s1 can confirm there is no apature for proximity sensor next to earpiece although if you touch screen at top left with a test app it will register a reading but does not work????? Also there is NO light sensor and only one of the dual cameras work.Bad show bluboo and don't bother contacting them they ignore us all ( have tried a lot)
Oh and by the way there are Trojans in SC weather and free touch apps!!!!!

Device check
Hi thanks for the link, tried it and as i suspected, there is NO light sensor, there is no opening where proximity sensor should be but as i said in previous post if i touch the screen just below where it should be the test goes from far to near (wtf),also with the camera test if i cover one lens with my finger you can see my finger, cover the other one and nothing, when i did audio test with supplied usbc to 3.5 i am getting sound from phone speakers and head phones, i hope this is just a faulty lead and not another device problem. I now realize why you should not buy chinese phones on presale you end up with a model that has not been fully tested which is a con as i could have bought the same phone 4 weeks later for less money and it seems with all sensor working!!!!! That said i still think bluboo should replace these devices foc (ha ha fat chance as you cant contact them) sorry for ramble but i feel cheated as others do.
Today I am returning my phone back. You must be a developer to fix all these problems.....

Anyone using the S9 Plus with Filmic Pro? (and/or Zhiyun Smooth 4 gimbal)

Hi,
I have a Galaxy S9 Plus arriving tomorrow that I had intended to use with Filmic Pro and a Zhiyun Smooth 4 stabilizer (anyone got one?).
Somewhat belatedly, I've just discovered (here) that inbuilt restrictions prevent Filmic Pro from using the second rear camera.
Has anyone any experience of using the Filmic Pro's zoom function without the S9 Plus's optical zoom?
Thanks,
John Latter
Sadly it's true..
Samsung S9 and S9+ FiLMiC Pro v6 Compatibility Guide
The Samsung S9 and S9+ are capable of absolutely stunning footage when used with FiLMiC Pro v6 for Android, and we have worked hard to bring the best possible shooting experience to both handsets. However there are two issues that can impact on the available features you have access to and overall performance on the S9/S9+.
Samsung’s implementation of the camera framework
Firstly, Samsung’s implementation of the Android camera framework denies third party developers access to some feature that are available in the native Samsung camera app. This includes high-speed framerates such as 60fps, 120fps and 240fps.
On Exynos equipped devices we have found a workaround that allows us to deliver high speed framerates even though not officially supported (up to 240fps at 1080p, and up to 60fps at 4k), however this is not applicable to snapdragon equipped devices (see below for more information).
The current Samsung camera framework implementation also prevents third party developers from supporting the dual lenses found on the S9+. At present only the wide lens is supported.
Finally, in order to deliver stable 4k performance we need to use Samsung's 'limited' mode that prevents access to the cinematographer kit LOG/FLAT profiles as well as custom white balance controls.
The Snapdragon CPU
And secondly, in addition to Samsung’s restrictive implementation of the camera framework, they chose to produce the S9 and S9+ with two different CPUs: an Exynos version - and a Snapdragon version.
You can find out which CPU your devices uses with the app AIDA64.
Unfortunately not all chips are created equal and the Snapdragon version has the following limitations for video:
No support for 60fps at any resolution
Whilst we can bypass the Samsung 60fps limitation on Exynos devices, this is impossible on Snapdragon devices.
No support for 120fps.
Whilst we can bypass the Samsung 120fps limitation on Exynos devices, this is impossible on Snapdragon devices.
Automatic White Balance UI doesn’t update.
The camera driver doesn’t provide information about the current white balance being applied, so we cannot reflect this status on the UI on snapdragon equipped devices.
HDR video unsupported
On Exynos versions of the S9/S9+ we can support access to high dynamic range video recordings, however this is not currently supported on Snapdragon equipped handsets.

According to this thread on the US Samsung Community forums, the 2 x optical zoom is not available to S9 Plus owners in Pro Mode.
In "Auto Mode" the second rear camera may or may not be selected by the software, depending - apparently - on "how much light is available".
In other words, there are probably lots of S9 Plus owners walking around thinking they've just taken a zoomed photo whereas in reality it's likely to be only a digital crop.
Amazing!

I don't have any experience with Filmic Pro.
But the default Samsung camera app also doesn't use the secondary camera for video. So it's not different.....
I had a few back and forth converstions with Samsung and Filic Pro support teams.
The following is the correspondence with Filic pro ragarding the matter:
Blue is me and black is Filmic pro support
"I'm sure you guys get annoyed about hearing about samsung users questions, but unfortunately I do not see any clear and open communication about it.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S9+
I would like to know if you guys are working on support for 4k 60fps, 1080p 120fps, and use of the telephoto lens. If so, do you have an estimated time frame that each of these will be supported?
How can I, or other samsung users, help to make the dream of full feature utilization a reality?
thank you"
"Thank you for writing in. Unfortunately, the lack of support for frame rates above 30fps on your device is due to errors in Samsung's camera framework implementation on S9 series devices containing the Snapdragon chipset. To learn more about these limitations, please refer to this resource --> Samsung S9 and S9+ FiLMiC Pro v6 Compatibility Guide
Furthermore, Samsung currently restrict 3rd party developers from accessing the tele lens on their devices. They told us at their developers conference last year that they plan to address this problem, but they are running late.
If Samsung correct these issues in the future, we will be quick to support for the features you mention. The best we can do is continue to raise the issue with Samsung until they recognize their users' demand for these repairs."
"I contacted you guys a few days ago regarding the S9+ and it's features and I received a very informative response that helped me a lot; so thanks for that!
I then decided to contact Samsung about the same issues and they seem to not be on the same page as you guys. After 2 support inquiries here is what I received from Samsung:
"We understand you would like Samsung to enable the [email protected], 1080p @ 60/120/240fps and utilization of telephoto lens to Filmic Pro app.
In the previous email, our agent had informed the camera specifications which the Galaxy S9+ supports. Indeed the Galaxy S9+ hardware supports [email protected] and 1080p @ 60/120/240fps using the in built Samsung camera app.
As the hardware supports the required format for videos, it is upon us the app developers to utilize the Camera hardware and develop the app code which can support this feature.
Samsung cannot change the software for the Camera if third party apps cannot utilize the camera hardware of Galaxy S9+. In this situation, we request to contact the app developer again and confirm if there are new updates available for the app which can support the camera hardware of Galaxy S9+."
With this in mind, it seems that they (or at least their support staff) believe that there are no restrictions on what 3rd party developers can do with the Samsung hardware. Because they are such a large company I would understand that their support staff is not privy to the detailed information of this one specific issue, but I'm curious if the entire company is not actually aware of the issue.
I realize this is a vague question, but I'm wondering if there is anything that can be done to push Samsung to allow Filmic pro to access all of the features that it's hardware provides. I have done extensive research of message boards and forums, but to no avail.
Can you point me in the right direction? Can we start some sort of petition? What can we do to get Samsungs attention?"
"Thanks very much for the followup. While it's true that Exynos devices are capable of the high fps/resolution combinations he mentions, S9 devices containing the Snapdragon chipset cannot achieve this with stability. It's a bit unclear to me, but it almost looks like he claims that 3rd party developers might now have access to both front facing lenses (!!). I at least I think that's what he means by "we request to contact the app developer again and confirm if there are new updates available for the app which can support the camera hardware of Galaxy S9+."
Anyway, I'm going to pass this along to the development team now to determine if maybe we did miss something in a system update that might grant us access to more features (at least for Snapdragon variants of S9 series devices, if we're lucky). We do understand that Samsung place restrictions on 3rd party developers in this manner, but we were told by Samsung at their developers conference last year that they plan to lift some of these restrictions. Maybe they changed their mind and pressing them with more requests for this improvement is not such a bad idea."
Conclusion:
Although I did not completely determine both company's standing on the issue, at least some light was shed on the matter. It also seems that Filmic pro will now press the issues further with Samsung to open up full feature capability at a future date.
If anyone knows of a way that we can group together in an effort to get Samsung's attention, please post about it here.
Just use an iphone. Had issues with my gimbal, drones, YOU name IT on android. No Issues on the iPhone.

Hello
On Oreo Samsung Camera app used Telephoto lens for video as well when there is enough light before you start recording it will switch to Telephoto. adjusting the zoom from 2.0 anywhere else while you are recording switches to Wide lens. (You can see shift in perspective and hear the click).
I could easily test this by pointing the camera directly to a light bulb before starting a recording on AUTO with 2x zoom.. (this doesn't work on current latest build of Pie and stock Camera app for video.
On Oreo you can verify that Telephoto lens is used by sticking some object or your finger in front of the wide lens while recording. ]
What makes me pissed off the most on Pie is that there is no support for Pro Mode Video - you cannot set manual ISO and/or Shutter and this was the main reasons why I purchased Filmic Pro.
To my surprise on Pie / Exynos The Filmic Pro app is able to switch apertures as well. I haven't see this on any other 3rd party camera app.

Martin

Amazfit GTS automatic arrhytmia identification

Anyone manage to get the Biotracker (all-day heart rate and automatic arrhytmia identification, incl. atrial fibrillation) to work? Shouldnt the watch give some feedback regarding the heart beat. Or is it not released in Europe yet?

That function will not be available in any way on the GTS/GTR. It cant detected arythmia cause it doesnt do a ECG, but take pointy HR, it should be done by mi watch if it has the right sensor (it must by more pricey than the basic version).

Amazit GTS has the sensor, but as the website said:
Note: *The AI automatic identification function for arrhythmia (including atrial fibrillation) will be gradually available in different countries based on local regulations.
So, what we need to do is just to wait until is available in our country in next firmware releases.

No. It cant. If you read it says about an "AI". It isnt an ecg sensor, so it can stimate about your hearth rate in a number of cases, or statistics. Its not a sensor. And it cant say in real time if you had an arythmia
