The Kernel has Anykernel2 Support:
Code:
AnyKernel2 - Flashable Zip Template for Kernel Releases with Ramdisk Modifications
by osm0sis @ xda-developers
"AnyKernel is a template for an update.zip that can apply any kernel to any ROM, regardless of ramdisk." - Koush
AnyKernel2 pushes the format even further by allowing kernel developers to modify the underlying ramdisk for kernel feature support easily using a number of included command methods along with properties and variables.
NOTE: Due to Forced Encryption being disabled you MUST remove encryption from the data partition by using the FORMAT DATA button in TWRP. (THIS WILL WIPE ALL YOUR DATA!)
For information how to decrypt see the TWRP thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...recovery-twrp-3-1-0-1-samsung-galaxy-t3581359
IMPORTANT: THIS WILL TRIP THE KNOX COUNTER AND I HOLD NO RESPONSIBILTY FOR WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU DECIDE TO FLASH THIS. ITS UP TO YOU TO MAKE A DEVICE BACKUP WITH TWRP OR HAVE THE STOCK FIRMWARE TO HAND!
Download:
SM-T820
SM-T825
Install:
Flash the Kernel zip in TWRP Recovery.
Note: if you come from other Kernel, you should dirty flash your ROM/Boot.img before flashing "FlashKernel.zip" and SuperSu or magisk If you need.

I just disabled securitylogagent with bk disabler. Not sure if this really corrects the issue
Also make sure oem unlock is on in your developer options

Hello. So not sure if I screwed something up along the way. Has anyone experienced laggy/ stuttering video playback on youtube? Also I don't have any sound out of the devices speakers.
Sound DOES work out of the headphone jack and while headphones are plugged into the aux jack youtube works fine. as soon as i unplug the headphones the problem reoccurs.
Now here is how I was setup, Im not sure where along the line I lost speaker output:
1: stock AQI2 Rom
2:installed TWRP from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...recovery-twrp-3-1-0-1-samsung-galaxy-t3581359 through odin
3:right after install I booted to TWRP formated DATA then flashed Flash-Kernel 1.0 and then the latest MAGISK 14
4: Device booted up and worked fine
5:I updated magisk manager to the latest
6:I installed the Gapps module and youtube 4k module through magisk manager
7:went to test youtube and noticed that I had no speaker output and videos were laggy without headphones plugged in
I reinstalled the factory AP BL CSC in odin and my speakers and youtube all works fine again
I am going to go through the install again and see where I messed up but I was just curious if anyone else saw this??
Thank you -Joe

Your warranty is now void.
We are not responsible if your phone, sdcard or anything else will be damaged, broken, bricked, bootlooping or detonating in a thermonuclear reaction.
YOU are choosing to make these modifications and accept the fact that something might go horribly wrong.
Important / read before flash mandatory
This build is only for the LG-H815 EUR, AND NO OTHER VARIANT.
Do NOT flash it on any other variant, only on the H815. Bugs and any problems resulting from flashing this on any other variant than the H815 will be ignored and reported.
Flashing on a wrong variant may also hardbrick your phone for all I know, so stay away from it.
This build is not a Stable release, but considered a Beta. Much more will be added as soon as I have lived together with my new phone for a while.
The build has only been tested on the version V10c-EUR-XX.

IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT SELECTING GOVERNORS:
WARNING: It has not yet been tested how the phone will behave if A53 and A57 don't use the same governor. There might be everything between smoothness, lag, instability, bricks or Unicorns, I don't know. I highly advise to ALWAYS HAVE THE SAME GOVERNOR ON BOTH CLUSTERS and NEVER RUN A GOVERNOR ON ONLY ONE CLUSTER AND NOT THE OTHER. You have been warned. EXAMPLE: If you select Ondemand for A53, also select it for A57

Known BUGS
Known BUGS
- Broken extSDcard
Probably related to LGs disabling of exFat support in the kernel config.
If you flash the kernel, your external sdcard might not be recognized. According to reports, it might also work if you insert it after flashing.
However according to one report, the card was formatted by itself after flashing and all data was lost. I'm still trying to verify the report.
Your phone might probably ask you to format your extSDcard when it has troubles recognizing it (usually after booting, but it might happen at anytime else as well), DO NOT format it! You WILL LOSE ALL YOUR DATA ON THE CARD.
A build with a hopeful fix will be available once I am back from vacation. It is highly ADVISED NOT TO USE AN EXTSDCARD WITH THIS KERNEL UNTIL THEN.

Hopefully coming up when I'm back from vacation:
- IntelliThermal
- FauxSound
- KCAL
Hopefully, since it needs some adaption, but some stuff might not work on our chipset, I don't know yet.

That would somehow void the purpose of locking the bootloader in the first place
At the moment it is impossible, sorry. You'll need an open bootloader to flash my kernel
P.S: Never try flashing it on a locked bootloader! Never!
Gonna flash it now and give it a go.

Thanks for the great work. Will flash when I get a second and report back on my experience..
With regards to your statement above, I have been trying this out using Kernel Adiutor for the past week or so on the stock kernel without any ill effect. As you state, it's not been properly tested and people should try and their own risk but so far it seems to be working for me.

On the first glance I didn't see anything in the governors either. I come from Samsungs 7420, where Interactive is adapted to serve both clusters, so I'll still have to survey if LG didn't do anything similar altough I didn't see anything on the first quick glance though. Chose the statement to take absolutely no chances until I had some quality time though

Thank you for this, I love your work and now for the g4, I'm blessed....
I'm working on a close to stock ROM, with priority on battery life first.... Hope to incorporate your kernel later, maybe do some co-operative work together????? To get the best battery life possible, and with no lag...
How can your kernel be port it to h811?

I haven't even downloaded the H811 source yet. Next sunday I'll return from a vacation and diff them out and then try to unify them if that is possible. Otherwise I would just make a separate build. H811 support is definately planned once I have the time for it
Keep in mind that I also need to take care of the CM kernel, which is my main focus at the moment

Will work on the plus model, in fact it's an unified zip file which will install the right kernel on the right model (but you can head over to the plus thread)
Sweet thanks! I did have a concern also. With batstock rom 1.0 when I install all is well, but when I go to install apps from the SD card it says app not installed with a triangle. Why would that be?
You did it again
PS: by "samsung security related configs disabled" you mean that we can use Secure Folder now ?
nice to see the first kernel for our s8
just wondering not sure what kernel i was using on my s7 edge but the dev enabled a setting to let you make screen a bit brighter in settings you could only use it for so long then it went back to normal any chance you could look at this when you get some time thanks
Hell yeah! Phone feels great after flashing and for the first time since I got the device, there is no framerate drops when unlocking using my fingerprint. The animation/transition is super smooth now. Thank you!

That is due to the wipe option. It somehow damages the data partition. If you flash the rom with dirty flash after you choose wipe, format data, 'yes' it will work

Nope. Samsung has fixed this bug from the S7.
And most likely they will patch the s7 soon as well so we won't be able to use it.
On the s7 it was: hmmm kernel gives me no result, I think that means successfull passed.
Pretty stupid [emoji23]

Yeah it does, flash magisk or supersu after kernel
Time to flash custom now i guess been patiently waiting
Can confirm Kernel works fine on Renovate Rom V1.2 with magisk installed after installing kernel. Don't know what the other guy was doing. Thanks dude
I have tried everything.
Flashed the kernel, wiped cache en then installed Magisk 12.0
Maybe it has something to do with the version of TWRP ?
I have version 3.1.0-r 1
I have tried to install the Batrom, but i get a error at the end.
Unmount of /data failed (-1) device or resource busy
It installs fine and it reboots.
But when i install the kernel it doesn't boot.
I think it has something to do with rights ?
Tried to flash the kernel over BatRom, then flash Magisk 12. But I still cannot get root working. Can anyone help? Thank you!
Gents, I managed to get it working via Magisk Manager. Updated to the latest version, reboot, and all is GOOD!
Thank you, good luck and best wishes all!

DISCLAIMER:
Lineage 15.0 is in no way, shape, or form, stable. Lineage 14.1 is mostly stable. If you want to use bleeding edge builds, flash 15.0. If you're looking for stability, flash 14.1. If you end up deciding to flash Lineage-15.0, updating TWRP is required.
Installation Instructions:
First off, make sure you are running the latest official TWRP. It will be continually updated with support for this ROM's features.
Secondly, ensure at the very least, you are on the MM update. If you are not, then flash the stock ROM via Odin, and perform a system update.
Thirdly, this ROM is ONLY for the SM-J700P, also known as j7ltespr, or the J7 2015 Snapdragon.
Perform a factory reset in TWRP
Select advanced settings under 'Wipe', and wipe 'System'
Flash the LineageOS 15.0/14.1 ROM
Install any other modifications (MindTheGapps (ARM), and/or Lineage SU)
Wipe Dalvik & Cache
Reboot and wait

Good work bro you are awesome if you can builid roms ?
Why did you run Lineage OS only for a variant of J7 2015? If this ROM does not work on other variants such as J700M and J700F, please put a warning, this will save several J7 bootloops

Well it says the damn model number of our version and you guys have a thread for your phone. No need of warning, just look.
Does this really work? Just so I'm correct, this is for the SM-j700p, I'm using that on boost mobile. I have that same j7 update so I will go ahead if this is real and try it out.
edit**
also how can I find out if I'm using your version of TWRP? I'm pretty sure I might be, but how can I know for sure?
& could you advise which GAPS to download?

In the post title, it says "J700P". I'll make it even more clear in order to prevent this.

This build here "works", but soon, after I get all of these bug squashed, there is going to be a build with everything working. And yes, this is for the J700P. I'm not entirely sure how you can tell if you're using my TWRP. If you aren't sure, reflash my TWRP.

any idea of the hugs involved? Could you create a rough list of bugs you have noticed. Also if you don't mind, do you know where I can get the stock room/other files so I can revert back to default. This is my main phone so I need to make sure I have what I need to make it operable again, just in case it becomes inoperable.
*Edit* also if you wouldnt mind showing me how to use logcat and whatever else I will need to properly test and help isolate things.

A new build of LineageOS 14.1 is here! With it, are many changes.
Changelog
Upstreamed kernel to latest CAF Branch (LA.BR.1.2.9_rb1.22)
Upstreamed wifi driver to latest CAF Branch (LA.BR.1.2.9_rb1.22)
Added F2FS support
Crushed many bugs (In-Call Audio is still broken, but that's it AFAIK)
Updated SDCardFS driver
Went from permissive SELinux to enforcing
The download link is already updated in the post. If there are any issues, please run "adb logcat -v long > log.txt" and attach the long, along with a verbose description of the issue.
A simple way to show you appreciate development is to hit that thanks button, so make sure to hit it as a simple way to show continued support!

Wow. That's amazing. It is a somewhat major issue, but at least it's only one main issue to tackle. I'll definitely make this my daily driver once that gets fixed. Thank you for the great work you do!

PLEASE READ THE FAQ!
Installation:
0. Backup is mandatory!!!
1. Download the latest kernel version zip file
2. Go to recovery
3. Flash the kernel zip
4. If you were rooted then flash root again otherwise you'll get a bootloop
5. Enjoy
Optionally, install Kernel Adiutor from Play Store to get control over the kernel. Install Synapse from Play Store or Synapse MOD (read FAQ).

FAQ
1. Screen mirroring is not working. Is it kernel related?
No. It is root related. Just add this to your /system/build.prop :
Code:
wlan.wfd.hdcp=disable
2. Bootloop.
Did you flashed SuperSU or Magisk again? Maybe you were rooted before and you need to reflash root. Pay attention to OP instructions and to the text printed in recovery.
3. Thank you for this kernel.
But can you please help me to get surround sound on my S6?
Sure, here.
4. How to enable multiuser support?
Add these to your build.prop:
Code:
fw.show_multiuserui=1
fw.max_users=5
5. Synapse is saying:
- "No UCI support" → Close the app from recents and open it again. If still no UCI support then PM me with the output of this command: uci (run it with su permissions).
- "JSON configuration parsing failure" → Using a file manager go to /res/synapse and delete a file named "config.json", close Synapse then open again, UCI error, reopen and done.
- The apply and discard buttons appeared for no reason. Which one should I click? → Click "X". This is a bug in Synapse.
- Is there a mod for Synapse? → Yes, Morogoku worked on it and I modified it a little bit to match our kernel and I built it. Get it from the attachments below. All the credits are going to Morogoku. It features backup/restore profile option and a red material theme.
6. Where to install BusyBox? In /su/xbin or /system/xbin. I'm using SuperSU and Synapse is working perfectly. After each boot up I highly recommend you to check the Synapse settings, especially CPU OC to see if everything is ok.
7. How to build your kernel from source?
After you git cloned it, open terminal in the root of the cloned folder and enter this: "sudo bash build_kernel.sh G920F" (or your model). Choose stock dt.img during building process.
8. XYZ not working. PM me with logs and screenshots.
Thanks! I'll try it later

First, thanks for the great kernel.
It works perfectly on my g920i except for magisk is now frequently auto unrooting. I reflashed it several times but keeps unrooting after a few minutes. Any ideas for a solution?

Back again!
You may remember me from my SkyDragon roms/kernels and HolyDragon kernels for OP6/OP6T/OP3/N6/M8/M7/G3 among other devices. This is the latest sm8150 kernel+audio source from OnePlus. For now just some latency reductions and a couple listed features while I work on optimizing it. No plans for any overclocking cpu/gpu that slowly kill your phone. No plans to upstream anything as most of the time there's either no benefit at all or it performs worse than stock. I don't care about f2fs and recommend only ext4 as the stock filesystem. My only goal, as always, is to get the best performance *and* battery life out of our phone as possible. Kernel zip uses Anykernel3 by Osm0sis to install so no fear of losing root or ramdisk changes or anything.

Frequently Asked Questions
Before issues should be reported:
1. Rom needs to be clean flashed
2. No Xposed, AKT Profiles, Helix Engine, other magisk modules, or other mods, etc.
3. Do not restore any apps with TiBu or Swift or some other app restoring application
4. No Substratum themes installed
If you can still reproduce the issue you're having:
1. Logcat/logs must be provided with your report in order to receive any support.
2. I also need a full description of what happened, what you were doing when it happened, and a way to guarantee-ably reproduce the problem. If I or my testers cannot reproduce it, not only will it likely not get fixed, it likely isn't even an issue with the rom/kernel.
3. Screen record or picture of the issue is also helpful.
If you're not familiar with how to get logs, you can reference this great XDA Thread here.
If you can't give logs for errors or possible bugs, I literally cannot help you solve it.
Can't wait to try this out! Thanks!!
This could be a really dumb question, but could the zip be flashed in TWRP from a USB DRIVE..?
Or within an app like EX Kernel Manager?

I've noticed your commit is in the mmc driver but given that we have UFS3.0 (not emmc 5.1) and that we don't have a micro SD slot, isn't this a worthless change because we will never be using mmc based storage?

If the same as on OP6, then you can dismiss it on each reboot. Last year it took a couple of weeks to figure out what caused it and it was subsequently addressed. It doesn't have any impact on the working of your phone.
