MIUI 9
Very very pleased!!! - i want miui on this phone(((((

IIt would be nice to see it in some time but i dont think it is compatible yet. Even the battery administration can be a really big problem, for example.

Port from x720
Please port from leeco x720 pro3 - miui 9 v2...

Please, port from multirom Xiaomi mi5

Why do you guys want MIUI so badly? Someone ported a working LOS ROM on Oreo for this phone and you guys still want MIUI... you guys should've just bought Xiaomi phones then.

Yeah people are strange Xiaomi phones are cheap as chip like $200 or less. I got Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 with Sd625, it's decent. Battery 2-3 days for moderate use. They make good phones Wifi signal and everything work excellent. The stock OS is well optimized and everything flying. I also have Redmi4 sd625 32gb rom/3Gb ram, some of the things it does it's faster than Le Pro3 that how good Xiaomi optimize the phone. If you never buy Xiaomi you missing out on some good phones, not rip off charging so much for a piece of plastic like Sammy, Huawei, Apple etc

Whilst I agree with you about the virtues of Xiaomi devices ( Redmi note 2 here ) I don’t think even Xiaomi provides anything with this price/specs/hardware combination ( Don’t know how much it was at time of op , but now it’s $150 ) And I suppose if someone likes miui , and knows there’s a rom for x720 , it’s not such a stretch that they might ask for it on this device .

Well, the Mi5 does, but with less RAM, unless you choose the "Pro" edition. It lacks support for North American bands, though (1700 AWS), unlike the Pro3 Elite. But it has a slightly better screen, Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and a headphone jack. Oh, and NFC and an IR port and a barometer, of all things. But it's battery is smaller (3000mAh). It also gets updates, unlike the Pro3 Elite, but still costs more even though it's a year older. Otherwise specs wise they're both pretty much the same.
The best bargain out there would be the Pro3 standard variant with the Snapdragon 821 and NFC for $230 or even $300, but you'd never catch me paying $300 for an LeEco phone... too risky since hardware defects seem to be widespread. With Xiaomi phones, you pay a bit more and you get more support. Hardware tends to be decent, but not perfect. You'll still hear about screen issues, camera issues, and so on. Just look at the Mi A1 and its screen issues and headphone jack issues... QC is still lacking in China.
But then again, look at LG's horrible record. Three bootlooping phones in 1 year: LG V10, LG Nexus 5X, LG G4. Good luck getting those RMA'd, lol. And even the Nexus 6P has so many battery and bootloop issues. Even the Pixel 2 and Galaxy S8 Snapdragon variant have problems! The issue is with all Android OEMs. They pump too many phones out without quality checking them. It's something that will only be fixed as smartphones mature.

Still worth buying?

Hi, I am kinda bored of my Moto G3 which have only 8gb memory.
I would like to buy the best q/p phone I can found. So I saw the Xiaomi's phone.
Then I saw the Redmi Note 3 Pro and the Redmi Note 4.
I am wondering, is the Kenzo/Kate still worth buying at the end of year 2016?
If yes, should I consider the Kenzo or Kate?
I don't care about 4G but I care about ROMS (=Kenzo), accessories (=Kenzo) and built quality (=Kate? Newer is better?) as the aftersale can be a real problem with this phone.
And what about the Redmi Note 4? I would trust him more for the build quality but I might be wrong... I know that there is a poor amount of rom/update but if the phone is smooth enough it might be enough for me.
My thanks guys
Go for the Kenzo, you won't regret it.
What you will regret though is wasting your money on the Redmi Note 4 aka a pile of trash.

Still worth it, i have the RN3 Snapdragon since 02/16 and was thinking to buy a new device, of course the build quality is better on the RN4 and it is looking a little bit nicer, but the RN4 isn't so smooth as the RN3 in some points, for example in gaming, the camera with ONLY 13mp / the software for the camera is also not good, but this is a known miui problem for likely all devices.
You can also find some threads in the miui forum, that Nougat or higher will not be supported for the RN4, but for the RN3 causes of the MTK-chipset. You can find hundreds of cons & pros at the miui forum or somewhere else but at all i'm thinking the RN3 is a good choice and take the Kenzo, more stable than the Kate one for me.
Hope that this will help you a bit :good:

If i buy it I will pray that they won't release a 4 with 652 or a Redmi 5 in a month :v and that i won't have any hardware issue
I am not sur I can trust Top one, but they are the only one who sales the white RN3P
I want RN4 for design and smoothness but I am also considering Redmi 4 Prime for snapdragon processor

Yeah, run this one, Top One is legit and ask if you can get the phone SEALED!
I think it is running a custom vendors rom, not so great, if you can get it sealed, it would be better because you dont have to flash an original rom.
When you get it with a vendors rom, then flash over fastboot with mi flash, if fastboot isn't working, simply turn your phone into EDL mode, then flash it :good:
Look on Miui Forum for the tutorial

Kenzo have more roms, this is why I want a Kenzo or at least flash Kenzo roms on Kate. I don't care about 4g
I think this phone is still a good buy. I went with Kate just so I could get LTE here in the States. I was getting sick of 3G/H+ speeds with my past 5 Xiaomi devices.

Le Max 2 Pros & Cons?

Hello everybody
I'm thinking about buying this phone, probably the X820. But I wanna ask you for advises, what are the pros & cons of this monster?
I've heard that there is some issues with camera, fingerprint scanner... are those issues solved by software update?
Does the 6GB Ram worth the extra money? some bench pls...
Regards
It's a flasher's paradise/playground for those who don't want to spend a fortune on a phone with great value in terms of specs. If you won't be flashing ROMs, then youtube EUI and see if you are comfortable with it.
Don't expect updates from LeEco. They might update. Just don't expect it. And don't expect much support from LeEco. I have few problems with fingerprint sensor. But then this is the first phone I've had that has one, so what do I compare it to? lol. Camera IMO is really good. Quick charge 3 is really nice to have.
I'm quite happy with the Max 2. It's fast and a great value as long as you're getting the best current price from one of the Chinese outlets. I came from a Moto G4, and this phone performs so much better.
I've been using this device for 9 months, still pretty good value for money considering the hardware it offers. Leeco's support is disappointing, but you just have to deal with. I mean, I use this phone in Europe without official support, so I don't expect much. I would be very happy for seeing official Nougat on this device though.
Some people have issues with the fingerprint sensor, the cause has not been identified.
Camera is decent, personally I don't use it often. But if I do, the result is okay.
Luckily, some guys work really hard on this device here in XDA, which is very appreciated.
Thank you for your answers!
Support is the big problem with chinese smartphones manufacturers.. But since LeEco has released source code for its phones, things are moving, and I can see that there is an official LineageOS rom and many other roms.. If the developers continue their work on this device, it'll be more than enough for me. Of course it'll be great if LeEco resolves the issues with fps and camera through an official update to nougat or Android O when released.
Checkout the LeEco Le Pro 3 Elite, same specs as the Le Pro 3, but it has a 820 instead of a 821. The 6gb version is a little bit more expensive. Don't know if it is worth.. Battery and maybe size are the only "cons". The phone works like charm. Hope this helps you

LeEco Pro 3 Elite X722 vs. LeEco Le Max 2

Has anyone had both of these phones in hand? Both can be purchased for the same price.
I have a rough idea of the positives and negatives of each model in my head. Does anyone else here have an opinion on which is the better phone overall?
I have also posted this to the LeEco Pro 3 community to try to get a better idea from owners of both phones.
Why not X720? The X722 does not share the same hardware as X720 and there is less development/support. Keep in mind that LeEco might never update any device in the future, so all lies with the good hearted developers.
If you live in Europe and you'll choose LeMax2, make sure it's the X820 and not the cheaper X829 due to Band20.
For me, the choice would be between X720 and X820.

Hey, thanks for you reply. I can get the X722 and X820 for the same price.
The X720 will be 45%-50% more for me.
Would you say that the X820 is the clear winner over the X722? I have to agree with you with regards to ROM development. There only seem to be ~3 active ROMs for the X722. The Le Max 2 seems to have a lot more active community.
The X722 is a niche device, so I would say it's not worth it.
I would go for the X820 in this case. It already has android 8.1. All credit goes to the excellent devs.
The only thing that might bother you is the fingerprint lottery. Many users claim it fails after a while. Mine is working for more than 1.5 years, but some report total breakdown of the fp even after few days of usage. If you can live without it, then just get it. I'd say a 50-50 chance.
I have both., X820 and X722.
1. Display - Le Max wins - super colors and ultrasharp, Le Pro looks much worse side to side.
2. Battery - Le Pro wins, lasts longer.
3. Custom ROMS - no winner. Indeed, there are not too many roms for LePro but in the end you need only one. I use AEX 7.1.2, stable, full features, no bugs noticed.
4. Sound - Le Pro wins - stereo speakers.
But my final suggestion is: if you don't care too much about battery life, buy Le Max 2. The display makes the real difference.
Heyyo, I would NOT RECOMMEND the Le Pro 3 Elite! It is NOT COMPATIBLE with Le Pro 3 custom ROMs as it uses the SD 821 and Le Pro 3 Elite uses the SD820!
There have been some community members messing about trying to get it working properly on LineageOS but it won't have as good of support as an actual Le Pro 3...
Same goes for that Le Pro 3 AI Edition which uses a MediaTek Helio X23. No kernel sources for that means no custom ROMs.
Isn't the x722 the pro elite. To be honest I just want a phone with the Google camera. So considering the Max 2 has better ROMs, would that be a better option to buy?
x722 is slowly getting ROMs, so it's an option I think. Le Max 2 has a good chance to have a dead FP out of the box, or the FP to die suddenly (like mine) and recover God knows when if it recovers (yes, by itself) at all. x722 is good if more developers start doing stuff for it, I see a good start.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/le...rom-lineage-os-14-1-x722-elite-based-t3705186
In my opinion, the Le Max 2 X820 is a better choice. Hardwear is the same in both Snapdragon 820, Adreno 530, RAM LPDDR4 and UFS 2.0, but the Le Max 2 has a much better display, the battery is smaller, but it loads very fast thanks to Quick Charge 3.0. The loudspeaker sounds very loud and good. There are plenty of ROMs to choose from. Thanks to the fact that the screen is flat, there is no problem with matching the tempered glass.
I recently bought the X820 6/64 version with the B20 band for 200 USD and I recommend it, I'm satisfied.

Excatly. For example I use X722 (Elite) with AICP and this is stable and no buggy ROM. There is a nice feature to use on - one can change saturation of colors under Live Display options - and X722 display does need it

HARD GAMER please I need your help.

I've been stucking here on Nougat and fails to move on to Oreo. I don't know I just think that Nougat is better in term of performance and stability for gaming. But now, you know, all the threads and developers giving all their loves for Oreo. So maybe this is my time to move.
So, please all hard gamers. In your experience. I need your setup badly for which Oreo rom should I flash. The most minimal and only essential customizations but very good performance n gaming, and please tell me which kernel you've been using for gaming. I really need it badly. Gaming is life. Please.
FYI I play Vainglory, FreeFire or ROS. Thank you so much.
Since there are no Oreo blobs for the Redmi Note 4 from Xiaomi (the Redmi Note 4 has yet to get the MIUI Oreo update and Xiaomi won't release sources for it until it does), kernels are pretty useless, IMO. Just stick with Nougat. It has sources so kernels for it are a whole lot more useful.

Probably never. Xiaomi never updates its old phones to new Android versions (only makes aesthetic changes to MIUI in updates), and this phone is a year old now. So it's old in Xiaomi's eyes. Xiaomi is a hardware company. Makes its money off hardware. So it has to keep pumping out new phones to ensure sales. If everyone holds onto old phones, like us Note 4 owners, Xiaomi doesn't get paid.
So don't expect an Oreo update or official sources from Xiaomi. You'll probably have to move onto the Note 5 Pro if you want Oreo and good gaming performance.

Is this phone a good choice?

Hello dear XDA Experts
Which Xiaomi phone shall I buy (in Europe) that will be the most popular Xiaomi device for a long time (people will talk about it and buy it for a long time), have the longest support and have many and many custom roms made even after pulling it off the market and most of all custom rom Devs will love it?
Any answer is welcome to help!
BTW Do these devices met the above criteria? (Redmi Note 5 (Pro or non Pro, remember Europe), Pocophone F1, Redmi Note 6 (if it is available in Europe))
Flagship is what you are asking for, you should decide upon your needs because it is unfair to put the devices you mentioned in a comparison.

If it were SPECS differences that I'm looking for then yes but I'm looking for not SPECS but something else (I wrote it in the topic).
Why is it unfair? Is it because You think that POCO is a flagship?

Dude, really?
I'm a bit shocked cause in Europe the sales of A1 and A2 with all it's variants were nothing compered to Redmi Note 5 (Pro)
Thanks for answering but please tell my why would You pick A2 and which variant?
get the poco, or the note 5 (whyred). But I'd suggest poco because it's better, newer and more popular.
This forum is for Redmi 5 plus (vince)
Also. Redmi series are midrange devices with lower prices, poco is a flagship device with a midrange price. If you can afford poco, go for it. People are crazy about it now.

I am considering POCO but imagine that in Europe my native tribe has nowhere POCO in mall shops or dedicated electroncis shops. The only way to get it is by ordering online (not from China).
However, the RN5 (whyred) is widely spread in every shop. The online shops have always some percantage off the price of that phone. The sales of this model is beating every sale that both kind of shops had and thay can't keep up with supplying the overwhelming demand. So I think because RN5 (whyred) is so popular that it will get much more custom roms than any other phone. For POCO is to early to see cause they don't have it in local stores.
nah. devs will soon move on from RN5. Most custom rom devs are from Asia anyway so availability in Europe is irrelevant. Just check their XDA sections for both and see.

Did I understand You correctly?
The current situation is that in XDA's CUSTOM ROM section of RN5 (whyred) has less custom roms than the XDA's CUSTOM ROM section of POCO?
