The demo shows a standard tempered glass screen protector being glued in onto the Gorilla Glass of the ZXP. Looks great and all, but how would you remove it if you damaged the screen protector only? Wouldn't glueing the screen protector on permanently make the replaceable protector sort of redundant?
I am all for a great fit screen protector but this does seam a little silly to me.

Seems like they have demo videos of the removal - http://www.sgfreshidea.com/mobile-p...e-will-it-affect-your-oleophobic-coating.html

yes but please note that we do not use the standard 1000 glue or 2500 you can get on Aliexpress as those glue are extremely hard to remove.

Hi @whiteangelcl
How does this type of screen protect differ from the full adhesive tempered glass that you have with the coloured edges?
If I were to order it, do I need the special equipment that you have used during the "curing" process?
I tried so many screen protectors so far and they've all been terrible!
The full adhesive ones didn't cover the entire screens and the ones that covered the entire screen were not full adhesive.
If the screen protectors you have are able to provide full protection without affecting the colour accuracy or the clarity of the 4k display then I will buy it immediately
I hope that you can ship to England.

Hi thanks for checking. The main difference is that those with the colored edges will block the color of the top and bottom portion of the phone and the edges on the right and left will cut off the display slightly.
This retail version will be launched in a weeks time and it comes with the full set of equipment necessary to complete the job.

It does cover the screen fully and also does not impact the color.
We do ship to England but the retail version is not out yet.
Will keep you posted.

Based on the video, you guys are in Singapore right?
Also, is there a choice of the actual screen protector used? The one in the demo video has cutouts that seem a little "off" (not perfectly centered around the lens and sensor which triggers my OCD) and an extra hole for the notification light.

Hi yes we are from Singapore. There is only 1 type of tempered glass sad to say. There is a small dot at the notification light.
When we were pasting it, the alignment seems to be correct. Perhaps it is a camera angle issue.

Is the retail version out yet?
I recently purchase the Red XZ Premium and is currently unhappy with my tempered glass as it only adhesive to the side only and I can see the adhesive line quite clearly when using the phone

Does this protector lessen the screen quality in anyway? My current protector im using is one of those plastic ones that stretch if you try to strech it. My issue with it is that it creates a rainbow effect when the brightness is high perhaps due to the sticky/glue on it. Does this do that or is it 100% clear to the point where it feels as if I dont have a protector on? Thanks

Hi thanks for asking no it does not lessen the quality in anyway. It is using LOCA to adhere the tempered glass to the display and LOCA is Liquid Optically Clear Adhesive.
It is a piece of tempered glass and due to the adhesive in the middle, there will be no rainbow effect even when the brightness is high.
It does add some thickness to the phone though as it is still a piece of additional tempered glass on top of your display but not to the extent that it becomes very thick.

Let me tell you the downside. As it is a LOCA based tempered glass, it requires a slightly higher patience level and it is more difficult than pasting a normal protector onto the phone.

I have a 1/4 inch long scratch on my screen. You can see it when you look for it and can barely feel it with your fingernail. Will this LOCA protector hide this scratch?

Are you keeping your Z Ultra once the Z2 is released? I'm debating if I should keep it or not.
I've always used Zagg HD version and never had issues. Does anyone know if any of the listed screen protectors as well as the tempered glass are waterproof? This device is water resistant so say i spend some time with under water pictures. Will i have to worry that my screen protector will fall off?
What's the benefit of putting a tempered glass screen protector on top of a glass phone? Glass on glass?

I would bet they are water resistant, at least to a strong degree. The benefit is the same when using a screen protector: that you don't damage the original glass. Also its real glass, so it retains the feel of glass.

Umm, I have two questions.
1. Since its glass and not plastic sheet, doesn't it add extra weight to the device?
2. Is it crystal clear? I usually order these.
http://www.clarivue.com/sony-d6502-xperia-z2-ultra-clear-screen-protector
They have glass ones tho, although a bit more expensive, but I don't really care about the price.
http://www.clarivue.com/sony-d6502-xperia-z2-xt-tempered-glass-screen-protector-cover
Edit : Make that 3 questions, 3rd would be, is the protector for both back and front or front only?
My Nillkin came in yesterday, bit disappointed in the rear protector. I thought it would be the same as the front, I guess I'll have to order something better for the rear like a wet mount one.

I haven't seen it off of the backing paper yet being that I don't have the phone yet. It has the typical green/blue hue on the edges that you normally see on clear glass(which really isn't clear), so it's technically not crystal clear. Being that it's so thing I'm sure it's effectively clear.
Which one shall I get?
Nillkin screen protector http://dx-box.com/nillkin-9h-hardness-tempered-glass-screen-protector-for-sony-xperia-z2.html
or
Spigen screen protector (it's double the price so I would like to know if there is actually any significant difference) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Spigen-Prot...40&sr=8-3&keywords=xperia+z2+screen+protector

Hmm, just wanted to know if it'll affect the screen clarity in anyway. I like screen protectors which act like they're not even there when it comes to viewing the screen.
Guys i bought Nilkin from dx-box they sent me for Z1C then they told me they were gonna send again for Z2.I bought magnetic charging cable as well from same place and they sent me again wrong one for Z1.Be aware about this website.
I looked at that nilkin glass screen protector and I looked at the pictures and it looks like there are no cutouts for the front facing speakers. Isn't that going to muffle the sound or damage the speakers?

Isn't the magnetic cable the same for the Z1 and Z2?
Also, is there anyone selling just a non-glass rear protector for the Z2? I like those because it makes the back more grippy and makes me less concerned about setting it down anywhere. I don't like front protectors.
I was wondering if someone found a front AND back set with tempered glass? Couldn't find any. I currently have this on my Z1:
http://theglass-m.com/products/glass-m-premium-tempered-glass-screen-protector-for-sony-xperia-z1
Have anyone who installed tempered glass and put it into water, will it peel off and unable to stick to the screen??
I gonna buy Z2 so i need dual layer of tempered glass for front and back. I do search online but unluckily there is nothing show for dual layer(front and back).

Who needs a screen protector? Make stock glass oleophobic

I took off my stock screen protector a while ago and installed a tempered glass screen protector since the stock glass has no oleophobic coating and feels a little sticky. Well my screen protector chipped so I removed it and applied a coat of rain x. It feels great! Still slightly more sticky than gorilla glass but much better than the stock glass. I applied some to the back glass too just for protection under my case. The glass is more shiny and attracts fingerprints less. Any fingerprints are wiped off easier. I highly recommend using rain x instead of a screen protector after removing the stock layer. Now I'm pissed that I spent so much on those stupid screen protectors that are hard to apply perfectly and chip/crack after a few months.
..exactly what tempered screen protector did you buy? You have a link?
Great idea!!
Might use this on my new mobile phone, as I am looking to upgrade to this model.

I started with the one everyone on here recommends, m-glass. I got some crap under the front glass so I ordered the explosion proof front protector off amazon. The front protector chipped near the microphone after a few months and when I removed my case I noticed the m-glass back had cracked. The glass protectors feel nice but are too expensive and not durable imo.

Not sure if you want to be in regular contact with those chemicals: http://goo.gl/yLmN1d
Known eye irritant.
May want to consider something less toxic like http://goo.gl/le5xtW if you want to go down this road.
So, I did this. Looks like a lot of forums have threads about Rain-X yielding positive results.
I also found this post and followed one of the comments.
Not sure if its available everywhere, but for glass coating I use Gtechniq G5. It lasts way longer than Rain X.
Applying is the same for both, tho.. The trick is to clean the screen as good as possible, and use something alcohol-based to make the surface free of residue from the cleaners. Put some G5/Rain X on a cotton patch and apply it in a THIN layer on the glass in "up and down" movements (not circular). Let it sit for a while (2-5min), then apply a new layer the same way on top of the previous layer and let that sit for a while again. Use a clean hot water-moist microfiber cloth to buff it off, and a dry one after.
Let the glass cure for a couple of hours (NO TOUCHING), and your good to go. The G5 coating should last for at least 6 month, and your glass screen should be resistant to dust and fluids. MUCH easier to clean too!

Glass screen protector anyone?

I don't have a DT2 yet but may purchase one by the end of the week. The outer screen is plastic and I read a post where people saw some Turbo 2's on display at Verizon with scratches on the screens. I also read that they will have the replacement external screens for sale for $30. I would like to put on a glass screen to protect it. I have one on my GS4 and it is great. You can't really tell a screen is on it. But since the Turbo 2 already has 4 screens I wonder if an additional screen would cause an issue with the display's brightness and resolution. Anyone put on a screen protector yet?
I had the store apply the flexible glass protector from Verizon. Realizing that you can replace the outer plastic lens (screen protector), you may not want to do that. However, the outer lens gets micro scratches too easily for my liking. So, I have a glass protector on top of it. A bit of a belt and suspenders situation, I'll admit. From my experience, there is no issue with display brightness from having yet another glass protector on it.
What I have been wondering is: Instead of putting a screen protector on top of the outer lens, would it be possible/better to remove the outer lens , and replace it with a tempered glass screen protector? That way you get rid of that lousy Verizon logo and get a glass look & feel. Thoughts?

I've thought about that but the glass protectors I've seen so far are not a perfect fit. The only perfect fit that I've found is the oem from Verizon. But its still early.

Motorola has stated this is a bad idea on the customer forums. The adhesive they use with the outer plastic lens is different. You'll need an outer lens, and glass on top, if you want glass. Otherwise you void the warranty. The Verizon glass protector is well made and I see no reason to chance it. I had a fresh outer plastic lens and put the glass on before using the phone once. The screen is pristine. The check mark is no reason to void the 4 year screen warranty.

Can you post a pic of what your VZ glass protector looks like?
We can easily get rid of the "check mark" once the force is released and they Moto is selling plastic lens replacements for it.
Honestly, there isn't anything to see. It's a near perfect fit.

Thanks for the input Dave, I'm browsing the Moto forums now and see that post. Where did you see the info about the adhesive being different? Moto definitely says that "using your Turbo II without the official Shattershield lens voids your warranty", which obviously makes sense. I would never use it without any outer lens; my thought was that if the OEM outer lens is replaceable, then I could technically replace it with anything, right? If something happened that I needed warranty on, I could at the very least take off my third party glass protector (I'm a fan of Skinomi products) and put a Shattershield outer lens back on? The checkmark does suck, but it's not a huge deal for me to begin with. People seem to be having success with putting a screen protector on top without compromising screen quality, so I guess it's not as big a deal as I thought.
Also, what the hell is "flexible" glass? Seems like an oxymoron. If flexible, unbreakable glass was a thing, wouldn't everyone be using it??? I wonder why they didn't make the outer lens glass if it's something that's user-replaceable.

I was more referring to the thickness of it... I have only seen those glass privacy screens and usually they add considerable thickness to the front of the device.
You are saying this lays flat on it, just like a plastic one normally does on a glass screen?

I'm absolutely getting VZW's tempered glass protector. In the past, I've been adamantly against them since Gorilla Glass makes having one redundant, but since the top Shattershield lens is plastic, it is necessary. You can buy the Shatterproof lens from Moto (sans Verizon logo) for $30 every few months, or buy the glass protector for $25 now and be done with it.
Did any of you apply the protector yourself? or did you have the store do it?
Is the glass protector able to be reapplied? Might wait until I get rid of that VZW check then get the glass protector.
I'm also wondering if one can just use DT2 without top layer. There are many reports of outer layer easily scratchng, even for me after 2 days i have a faint scratch. Without the layer screen will likely look a tad crsiper and i wonder if anyone has used it w/o the layer and seen how strong the 4th layer is.

I think this would be a HUGE mistake. Put either a sacrificial moto outer lens on solo, or with a glass protector. But to leave the interior lens unprotected seems like an invitation for a permanently scratched screen.

I ended up getting one from Amazon. It's a $7 one that is Tempered glass. It's on the screen now & it's wonderful, very hard, hides finger prints etc. It's the 1st tempered glass protector I've used. The bad news is that I got an email a few days before it arrived saying that they just found out that the screen has a very slight curve to it so the bottom of the protector tends to peel up.....which it does indeed do. I'm leaving it on until I find a suitable replacement for it. In the same email they asked me if I'd like to receive some basic plastix screen protectors as an apology free of charge. Haven't received them yet. Might be worth looking into the Verizon one. I've never bought a single Verizon accessory before as they are rediculously expensive.

Nothing like having to use a condom to protect another one. But I agree replacing a glass screen protector is preferable to paying more to replace a plastic one.

Well even though the shattershield screen is shatter proof it isn't scratch proof. So a screen protector is needed. You can't have everything.

I wouldn't recommend going balls out. The second screen is plastic too and not replaceable. You need some kind of top layer protection whether it be theirs or third party.

I just got this for my phone. If you do apply it yourself pay attention to the edges and corners, especially the top right corner where the "Front" sticker is. The sticker was covering a big bubble that I did not notice until 5 minutes after the apply. Putting pressure on it for a few minutes fixed it.

Screen protector

Hey everyone!
I read everywhere online that the 3/3T and the 5 share *very* similar screens. So similar, in fact, that they may very well have exact identical dimensions as well as being 2.5D.
So...with that in mind...
Anyone think the 3/3T screen protectors will fit the 5? Cases won't since the 5 is thinner, but maybe the SPs ?
Thoughts?

I think the phone is gonna have the same problem the 3t had. There won't be any good choices. Even the official one for the 5 has the same black border that caused blocked pixels on the 3t official tempered glass screen protector. Are those black borders really necessary?

Yeah, I know. For my 3/3T, I had finally *settled* on a Best Skins Ever (same as ZAGG) since it would stick everywhere and had no halo effet. Not glass, but still not so bad.
There's nothing out yet for the 5 so I was hoping to order another 3/3T Best Skins Ever for my 5.
Different screen protectors.

does the "best skins ever" screen protector and the body protector stick on the 3T properly?
i tried tempered glass and regular screen protector but all came off on the edges because of the 2.5D.

It does. It's very nice, much more so than half-assed 2.5D glass protectors with halo and dot matrix effects.
Can't speak for the body protector as I'm only using their screen protector (I use a Spigen case for the body).
If you have ever used ZAGG protectors, they're the same.
They're a wet application, as well, so that's something to consider if you're not cautious.

Whole screen covered, yes.
I'm at work right now and only have my own phone as a camera, so when I get back home, I'll use my extra phone to snap a pic and share tomorrow.

If it's the same as Zagg, does that mean that it has the orange peel effect too?

Yes, same orange peel as ZAGG. I don't mind it too much, though, as it's not that bad, but definitely nowhere near as nice as a tempered glass SP.
Here's the pic that you requested

Here's a picture of my OnePlus 3T with the BSE on.
It's been applied for about 5 months, now, with general use.
There are no bubbles, I just couldn't be bothered to dust it before snapping the pic

I hear you on the orange peel... On my "flat" screened phones, I always use glass SPs, but since the OP3/3T were curved, I preferred orange peel over having ****ty halo effect and dot matrix and lifting corners and what-have-you...
I wished the OP5 would have a flat screen, but alas, it's not the case

So there's no perfect phone? I was looking at the S8, but I don't like the curved screens. The Oneplus isn't curved much is it? I'm very sensitive to light and have to use an anti glare screen protector or else my vision goes double.
I wonder if @intelliARMOR will develop a screen protector for the OnePlus 5. Got their products for my old Nexus 6P and the quality and customer support was simply amazing! I've seen they already have a protector for the 1+3, maybe they'll update their intelliGLASS for this occasion.

OnePlus screens have been working fine for me, however I simply wish it was easier to find decent glass SPs.
Maybe OnePlus 6

Agreed, their glass SP was perfect on my 6P. However, the 6P also had a flat glass screen, which the OP5 does not

I think the phone is gonna have the same problem the 3t had. There won't be any good choices. Even the official one for the 5 has the same black border that caused blocked pixels on the 3t official tempered glass screen protector. Are those black borders really necessary?

I can confirm the official TGSP for the 5 has the same pixel blocking issue. I didn't own a 3/3T, but I did just look up the photo of what you mentioned, and sure enough, I've got the same issue. Wish Orzly would make a completely transparent one like their one for the OPO (rocked it from October 2014 until now and it's been perfect).

ZUK Z2 Plus Screen Protectors

As I was searching for a screen protector (tempered glass) for my Lenovo z2 plus but was unable to find one with satisfactorily good rating on Amazon or Flipkart
So can someone from India suggest me a good tampered glass screen protector for this device

There is a 1mm gap on each side so screen guard doesn't stick out at the curve. For link search Ali express for nillkin Lenovo zuk z2 screen guard. They have 2 varieties. Matt and clear.

I Told you man, Donot buy from anywhere else other than the official website. In Amazon, more than half of these trink glasses are fake. I Know because a friend of mine tried for his Redmi Note 4X from Amazon. The Product was so fake that you can tell from the packaging itself. Then he came to know about the Official site and bought again and he was pretty much satisfied with the quality. See youtube for reviews of the trink glass bought from the official store. I Myself will try it out once the matte screen guard that came with the phone is worn out by scratches.
So did anybody find a good one for it?

If by good one you mean tempered glass having no gap in any of the side then.... Sadly No..!

I have purchased front and back glass from trinkshop official website. The quality is ok. But the main downside is that the front glass does not cover the entire landscape and just like any other tempered glass available anywhere it leaves the edges and top sensors uncovered. It's definitely risky to not apply a back case, but both side glass films provide a fantastic look

I come from using an oneplus x for 2 years with the exact same problem regarding tempered glasses. The reason there is no tempered glass with the perfect fit for these round edged phones is because manufacturers don't intend for people to use one on their phones nowadays. The last six months with my oneplus x I was using the phone with a rigid case and no tempered glass or screen protectors and it still is good with no scratches even after a few screen facing falls. I think the best setup for Z2 plus is the same approach but incase you want some scratch resistance use scratch guard films instead of tempered glasses. The only case i found online that covers the Z2 Plus' screen by giving a little rubber covering on the screen corners (like the spigen ones) is the generic kick stand two-part case. Those cases also give a good look without the kickstand part (picture attached below).
Finally got perfect tempered glass for lenovo z2 plus
I ordered this FAD-E™ Full Coverage Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Lenovo Z2 Plus
It's fitting perfectly and looks awesome. No effect on touch. Please note it's not matt. It's clean tempered glass.

Is there the rainbow effect while watching videos at an angle?
Please post close up pics of the tempered glass applied on the phone, with the screen both on and off.

Using one with Z2 Plus. Very bulky and uncomfortable. Beats the whole purpose of going for a 5 inch phone. Makes the already thick Z2 Plus even more thick

Beware. These full coverage tempered glasses look and for good but provide no screen protection except for direct scratch resistance. These are not full glue ones. Only the coloured parts have glue and on minor impact these glasses come of. Telling from RN4 experience with multiple friends ..
True protection from tempered glass comes from the ones which are glued thoroughly to the screen.
Glazedinc.com makes such full screen edge to edge full glue screen guards and their Redmi note 4 screen guard is quite popular - probably the best in India but I didn't find any product for Z2 Plus on their website. Maybe people can request them. I already did
If anyone is interested in having this bumper case: https://www.ebay.in/itm/New-Lenovo-...ck-stand-Hybrid-cover-case-black/142458738739 let me know. I bought one for myself but find it a bit bulky and that is just my individual preference. Perfect fit with all cut outs. Same one mentioned and used by this youtuber here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQ7nXahWVUE&t=2s
The ebay seller has increased the price for some reason (may be low stock). Actual price is 169. Someone preferably from Bangalore, if interestedm PM me
