nabi2 trouble - Fuhu Nabi 2

heres wha i have done and my problem, sure hope theres some help an i havent broken it. Since FuHu has removed the updates i decided to give it a whir myself. I read and read on the nabi and differant ways to update, but none worked. Somehow i deleted the OS, but i figured no problem and found the xda site for the nabi stuff. I was able to install twrp 2.2.2, it wouldnt read the micros sd card, i up graded the twro to 2.8 version, everythig semed to work except the deggone "slide button" id recon youd call it. Back to the drawing board. I down loaded twrp 2.6 for the nabi and installed. Have no idea what went wrong, but now, i fire up the nabi, go into recovery kernal ( without being plugged into the pc ) it just sits there, when i plug the usb cable into nabi then the laptop, it automaticall connects to the driver, and goes to a screen that has,,
bootloader
continue
reboot-bootloader
reboot
power off
now if i press the vol - again it goes to a screen....
boot normally
fastboot protocol
recovery kernal
forced recovery
it just keep fliping back and forth betwen thos 2 screens,it shows connected on my laptop, but try to load anything and it says no device connected..
Truley baffeled,, any help is appreciated
Thank you

I just went through the same thing and this helped me fix mine from not even powering on .. go to bootloader where fastboot is in menu and go to forced recovery and download the NABI2RESIZE.zip from https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2101277&page=13
and follow those instructions in that post make sure you have apx drivers installed .. let me know if you have problems downloading i will upload the files i have used for you to dl but it should fix it .. if not let me know i have become a nabi brick unbrick expert over the last year lmao
i am pretty sure you shouldn't have any problems .. make sure bootloader is unlocked
let me know if you need help i will chat with you somewhere and walk you through it .

need a mentor for streak

ok i have been all over the place trying to figure this process out. i found everything that i believe that i need and have saved all info. well i did not get far.
here is what i have done so far. i have dl 1.9.0 from dj steve i have created my install .txt file. i tried the fast boot and thats as far as i get. i try the find driver and there is not even a google, inc folder to choose. if possible i would like to get someone on some sort of chat be it yahoo or whatever that could take the time to walk me through this from start to finish. i know that this is a rather large task but if i could get it i would be greatful.
here is what i am working with.
at&t dell streak 5
android version 2.2
build number 14844
i have taken everything back to off of sd card like the rcoverey and install and 1.9.0 files.
that is all that i know so far and sorry if i am not on the right track but with all of the write ups online it is almost impossible to figure out which is best and easiest ect... well thanks to everyone for the help whether i get any or not.
Start here
Quickest way to ROOT access is to
Hold your streak above your head with both hands
Close your eyes
Shout out loudly " OPEN SESAME " (must be yelled out loudly or will not work)
Then with all the energy summoned
SMASH YOUR PHONE INTO THE GROUND
CONGRATS NOW YOU SHOULD BE ROOTED WITH SUPER USER
thanks marvin for the link i already have been all over that and no luck. i cant even get into fastboot. when i try to bring up the add driver and go to select from list google inc is not there. i have gone over every step a hundred times and dont know what it is. if anyone knows where i can dl the driver file that would be awesome. but i have read other places with guys having the same issue and they dont get any help either so, i will just hold off.
also i am trying to do this on windows 7 with x86 i dont know if this could be the issue. if so i have a vista laptop also if that would be more useful. just looking for info,
and yes i have vista in test mode

I also use windows 7 x86, follow the instruction on streskdroid in how to setup qdltool, when you get to installing certificates do not worry if you can nnot install it just follow the next instruction. Dont forget to do that in test mode.

There is no reason to actually run the QDLTool on your phone because the ROM you have is later than the one it will install. But the download will include the drivers, unzip it and look in the driver folder for what you need.
just finished with the streak droid 1.9 upgrade and first power up is coming up now mu phone just opened with a nice looking streakdroid logo by djsteve. thanks again to everyone that helped me out it is most appreciated.
how can i be sure that my install.txt file took? want to make sure i got my volume boost and density
ok scratch that ^^^^^ it took
lets say i wanted to modify that txt file on the root to make changes do i have to go back and upgrade through clockwork or will it take automatically with a reboot?? thanks guys
ok well to answer my question lol post whoreing.
i just pwrd on with the vol keys held went to update via .zip again. this was after changing the txt file and the changes took it also saved all my info and setting so i didnt have to worry about setting up all my email and stuff like that again. starting to get the hang of this.

[Q] Major mess up! Help please!

Greetings All,
I rooted my phone few months ago and have installed few ROM's. Sadly the one I had for sometime was a battery hog and couldnt even last for a day. I thought its time to change it and tried installing elinux and looks like I messed up my phone.
I installed elinux update.zip and it rebooted and is giving me boot loop. It just gets struck at htc screen and does not move ahead. I also dont see recovery in hboot. most of the times I cant get to hboot and when I do it shows me error message which is in the lines of no image - error . Can someone please ,please tell me what to do? of what I read online, I can install recovery image using adb..but in my case, I cant as I cant enable that usb debugging option.
please please help me...
phone : HTC hero - Asian
Thanks a ton and appreciate you reading this
My prepared answer for all such questions: Try a RUU install from PC It always works
thanks for reading my question.
Can you please tell me more about installing ruu from system. how do I do that? How can I install ruu or anythin like that when I cant connect my phone to my com[puter and change the usb debugging. I would really appreciate if you can let me know. thanks a ton
The trick is, you don't need usb debugging checked for installing ruu Booting into fastboot is enough (Power+Back).
In this case, You'll ned to download a proper official ruu for your device ASIA_HTC_HERO +verson for example, just google it). then connect usb cabel, power into fastboot wait a little for drivers, and run the ruu exe file. It will do all the work.
You just need to find the right RUU for your regional phone version.
Didnt want to mess it up without knowing what am doing. Took it to a shop and its up and running. Thanks for your help buddy.

[Q] Think i Bricked the Unbrickable... =/ .. No joke. Tried EVERYTHING.

Ok so i was in my flash happy mood earlier today..
I saw that ICS slim was updated and was going to try that, well i had ICZen on my phone at the time and tried to flash Slim, well blah blah, it didnt work.. The op told me to flash from a rom that had cm9 (iczen has glitch) so i flashed Lithium MIUI--went back into recovery and started to wipe.. i wiped everything.. So i went to go flash ics slim, and as soon as i pressed 'Yes, install..' it was installing for a very short bit, then all a sudden a reboot and got stuck on the rainbow screen...
I cannot go back into recovery, but i can go into download mode.. BUT this is where the kicker is......
My computer doesnt recognize my device... ive installed driver after driver to get it to recognize. Well, no avail
Even tried installing the drivers on 6 other friends computers (at my college) and all of them still didnt recognize my device..... SMDH.. been trying to fix this all day and im pissed.
Any ideas what to do? Hate to go out and buy another phone......
And before yall say 'you cant flash miui and then go straight to ics, you have to odin' --- No, i did it all the time.. This time something went wrong and idk what
Wow, 158 views and no replies..
Guess i did permanently brick it.. ok
If you can get in to download mode, you're not bricked.
I've read/heard that since our ICS roms are built off of Nexus code, you need to install the nexus drivers. Have you tried doing that? Also, are you sure it's not a bad cable? Try another samsung cable (if you can get a hold of one) to be sure.

yes, ive installed the nexus drivers too.. im positive its not a bad cable, ive used it on my computer before hand.. and yea, ive tried another cable as well..
I remember experiencing something like this a while back. i softbricked, could enter download mode, but the computer would not pick up my phone. i dont remember an exact solution, i just remember downloading all sorts of drivers and eventually i got it to pick up.

as far as views:replies, you have to realize that even though you are in panic mode (weve all been there, so we know how you feel), that doesnt necessarily mean people are automatically going to have an answer for you. in this type of situation, its virtually impossible for anyone to tell you an exact solution (if there is one) unless they are sitting right next to you.

i honestly wish i could tell you exactly, this was a whiiile back, prob over a year.
all i remember was a lot of installing/uninstalling/reinstalling drivers, rebooting comp/phone, unplugging/replugging....it seemed like there was no hope so all i could do all day was fiddle and just hope and pray that i would do something right and the phone would read
im not going to lie though, it does sound pretty bad that youve tried it on multiple computers. that means your possible problems are (from most to least severe):
1. Busted USB port
2. Wrong drivers installed
3. Malfunctioning chord
Although i WILL say: make sure all of your USB connections are free of lint, gunk, etc. I know this sounds like one of those stupid, default troubleshooting steps, and i always looked down my nose at it. however there was a point in time the the comp wouldnt pick up my phone. i tried eeeeverything to remedy it and nothing was working. sure enough, i looked at the standard usb connector on my charging chord and it was FILLED with pocket lint. once i picked it out, BAM good as new!!

im slowly losing hope on this .. but im continuing to try and fix this
Couple of things. Why don't you go over to the Dev section and download the AIO toolbox. Tiber I think has a link in one of the last posts that should still be working. It has all the pit/tar files, drivers (I know, I know), Odin and is very handy. Don't forget to make usre you have the .net files too.
Then try this
Make sure you have ODIN OPEN with admin privileges!
1.) Take off your back cover, remove your sim & mirco sd card.
2.) Remove your battery.
Make sure you have the USB plugged into your PC but NOT your phone!
3.) Hold the volume buttons.
4.) Put the battery in.
5.) Put the USB in.
You don't necessarily need the download mode image to be present. As long as you are getting the COM ID to light up yellow in ODIN, just flash back to stock like normal.

If all else fails, just keep trying. It boots up to Download mode so it is salvagable and not hard bricked. If you do end up finding a new phone on CL and want to donate you Vibrant, i am looking for one to work on some things with.

So the one Rapidshare from Tiber isn't working? What about the one from OldeCrow 2 posts up. If neither of them are working, I can get it to you later on tonight when I get home from work.
Regardless, if you have the drivers and have Odin installed, try the tricks in my earlier post and see it works that way. Panic mode is probably not deep set in, don't worry we'll get it on.
When you say yours (and 6 others) don't recognize the phone, are you talking about Mass Storage mode or do all 6 of your friends have Odin installed on their computers? Might seem like a BS question and I am sorry about that but it is a one or the other type situation. It will be in download mode OR mass storage.
Can you boot into recovery by chance?
Depending on what bootloader you have it will be (Froyo) Vol+/- and power or (GB) Vol+ and Power. Also not to sound noob-ish but just bc you have a GB ROM doesnt mean you have GB bl's. Dealt with that with someone else this week and fought me tooth and nail over it.
if you have clockwork mod installed you can put a rom on your SD card through your computer, wipe your phone and then flash the from with a full wipe.

That is what I am getting at.
If he can get into CWR then he can mount the phone to the computer in Mounts and Storage, put a simple 2.2 ROM on there and get it to boot up so that it works. then figure out the driver thing later on once we can get it to fully boot up.

that person had the same problem as me and everyone tried to help, they gave him/her links and everything.. i followed with the links too, and just like that person, none of them worked for me either
saw the download link that oldecrow posted.. its working.. downloading now
Ok. Keep trying once it is downloaded and let us know how it is going. I am getting ready to leave work soon, so I won't be on until later tonight but there are plenty of others that can help.
There's also the One-Click Vibrant DeBrick from Adam Outler. I've used it on my netbook on phones with your identical problem and its never failed yet.

There is adb in TWRP, you can just push the files over to the sdcard.
adb push xxxx.xxx /sdcard where xxxx.xxx is your files.
But I can't tell from your post if you have lost ADB and fastboot driver in Windows 8. Or don't you have a miniSD converter you can plug into a PC?
Yeah dude
i dont have an adapter but i just orderd one from ebay. yes i cant get my computer to install the right driver.. but thats cus its soft brickd. im assuming once i put the stock rom on the sdcard and flash it in twrp and then swipe to reboot or whatever im guessing its gonna be back to stock n working... so then i will just re-root it at that point and be extra careful.. see this all started because i got poweramp and the unlocker and lucky patch and busy box and something else and patched it n followed some info on youtube because i wanted poweramp full cus its siiick. then it out of nowhere started saying trail has expired.. it said that before and after i patchd stuff for weeks it worked fine.. o well next time im not gonna b careful not to delete my google play right after i deleted my browser.

Sounds like you need to update to the latest version of ADB/FASTBOOT the "device offline" is usually due to an incomatible older version of ADB. Get the latest version on your PC then make sure that ADB is working before trying fastboot.

We don't have an S-off solution for this phone yet but it is not required for root, although you will need to flash jmz's insecure kernel for changes to "/system" to stick after reboot even when rooted,

ok it still not getting teh recovery.img on the phone. it just keeps sending it with out doing anything..
ok so this htc is giving me way mopre problems then the htc one vx. i really need help. and now im kind of lost what to do. Currently all i have done is unlocked the device.
ADB says my device is there. Threw cmd i can't get it to fastboot using adb reboot fastboot. all it does it reboot teh device, it wont go to bootloader. I do have bootloader unlocked. when i go and make my device go to bootloader manually i try to do the fastboot flash recovery recovery.img it starts to send the file then fails. unknown error. what am i doing wrong?

That's info that more people should have. The right usb cord can be difference between failure & success. I remember I went through 6 different usb cables jailbreaking my atv2.
For this phone, however, I just used the one that came with it. But I found the automated process to be sticky (not a tech term) it seemed to freeze a lot during the process.
I wound up plugging and replugging the usb when it froze.
It rooted my phone, installed twrp but needed to flash jmz kernel manually. The root tool works though. And to be honest, until I read this I didn't even think that a different cable might fix those issues in the automated process.
The other night for fun I rooted an old kindle hd and I needed to unplug and replug to get that to work. I was using the same cable that came with HTC desire.
***Anyone ever use a fastboot cable? Apparently u need one to install a 2nd boot loader on kindle hd and I'm wondering if that type of cable would resolve issues like this? That's a question not a go ahead to try it. I know very little about that and don't know if it could possibly cause more serious issues. They're cheap on eBay and I'm getting one for the kfhd.
