Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Where is changelog?
Changelog
or
Settings->System-About-Changelog
ROM is rootless?
Yes, this rom is rootless. Flash Magisk or SuperSU or LineageOS addon to gain root functionalities.
What is OpenDelta and how to use it? (Delta updates will be available later.)
- OpenDelta is an app developed by @Chainfire for OmniRoms which is open sourced and can be used by anyone. It's for providing incremental updates to users so instead of downloading a file of about 500+mb in size, you only need to download a file that's only about 20-50mb in size. This size can vary from update to update yet it'll still be better than the full zip.
- Checking for updates can be automated or manually invoked by user.
- If you want more files to be flashed with the delta update, put them under sdcard/OpenDelta/FlashAfterUpdate
- You can enable Secure Mode in OpenDelta settings to make sure that the delta updates are signed with proper key and no intermediate injection was done, only downside is that the additional zips won't be flashed.
- OpenDelta is in Customization - Misc.
- Remember to keep the full zip of latest you have flashed, else when the delta update available it will ask you to download full zip of latest version instead of patching your existing zip with delta update.
- If you are getting update disabled, make sure you clean flashed 23/02/2017 build or do a clean flash of any build after that and you will be fine later.
How to use Backup in OpenDelta properly?
- This feature is added recently and only supports system/data/cache/recovery and boot partitions with data compression ON and md5checksum OFF.
- There is currently no option to select which storage partition you want to backup yet, I will implement in future in my free time.
- Remember if there isn't enough space left on your device for backup, whole script will halt and no further installation will happen so make sure there is enough space on your storage.
- You will be shown a warning if you forgot to check Backup option under settings.
How to use CleanFlash in OpenDelta properly?
- This feature is added recently to clean flash the updates.
- This can work with Backup option so it's better if you click both Backup and CleanFlash options as then it will take a backup first before a clean flash.
- You will be shown a warning if you forgot to check Backup option under settings when you do a clean flash using this option.
How to submit a bootloop log?
- Visit this post and follow the procedure.
My apps don't have access to Clipboard, what's wrong?
- It's a security precaution and you can enable app's background clipboard access by going into Security and enable "Allow background clipboard access".
I am not able to access my USB devices, like my pen drive etc, they were working fine earlier. What's wrong?
- This is again a security precaution and you can give access them by going to Security - USB Accessories and choose appropriate option from there.
Are there any known issues in this rom before I report them to you?
- Smartbar settings doesn't get saved and force close in restoring.
- Report other stuff that's not mentioned here.
My phone is slow charging,, why?
- When the device is in use, charging current will directly reduce to under 1amp but when device kicks idle it'll charge faster and could go upto 1.9amp. It should fully charged within 2 hours and few minutes but if it takes much longer than that, I suggest to use a different charging adapter or cable. I can't suggest any other solution to this as my phone is getting charged within the expected time frame.
Here is a good charging analysis for op2 with a third party adapter company which is a good read.
What about a different bootanimation/logo or something else that makes the appearance of this rom better?
- Bootanimation/Launcher/Delight logo and everything that's subjective to the appearance of rom would be finalized later. This is all temporary till I finalize everything.
*Current Delight logo is provided by @zipalign which is a bit modified by me so all credits to him.
---- I will keep adding stuff here whenever I feel like it's needed to be.

HI @nicesoni_ash,
Thanks for the Oreo Build. I am currently on Lineage OREO build, but I see a lot of additional features in your build. I would like to flash this ROM, can I dirty flash this over Lineage Oreo build or do I have to do a clean flash.

Nice!
Thanks for the Rom.
Let's be delighted! :good:

This beta 1 build is the new one with the bugs squashed?

You should not. Always clean flash when moving to another ROM.

That's great. Finally wait. Try it right away

1. The ROM is updated 4 hrs ago, so its too early to comment about battery. Generally one should give min. 2- 3 battery cycles to check battery status
And 2. The most important thing - battery depends on user and is very much subjective. So its always better to use the ROM yourself and decide about the battery life
Anyway, the battery life for beta 1 was like any other o ROM for me...

Very nice @nicesoni_ash. Glad to see your hardwork and to see you are keeping the OnePlus 2 alive.

Hi, have to say really great ROM
noticed a little "error" though, automatic unlock on correct pin still shows wrong pin, but unlocks, so just a little design error.
and the compass in the statusbar doesnt seem to work, stuck on initializing ^^
Edit: also noticed security patch level still seems to be August ?

This looks awesome, I can't wait to try it out. Just gotta ask, does this ROM have OTA?

PLEASE READ YOUR APPLICABLE PROCESS AND UNDERSTAND IT BEFORE ATTEMPTING. ALSO READ THE LATEST UPDATE POST AND THIS FAQ, IT HAS SOME GOOD INFO IN IT.
Pre-requisites: An unlocked bootloader and custom recovery installed. Use this guide if you need assistance with this (just read the beginning of the guide, follow sections 1 and 2, then come here).
Which path do I choose? Clean install or dirty flash?
Dirty flash: If you are already on Pure Nexus AND NOT flashing across Android versions (6.x.x to 7.x.x). Please check the update post linked about though. This keeps your apps and their data intact.
Clean install: When you have problems with dirty flashing, when coming from another custom ROM or stock Android, OR when required (check the update post).
Always do a clean install before reporting issues
How to dirty flash:
Download the latest Pure Nexus zip, your choice of root zip (optional), and your custom kernel (optional) onto your phone.
Boot into TWRP and make a backup (remove any lock screen security before this, optional but HIGHLY recommended).
Wipe cache and dalvik cache (optional).
Flash Pure Nexus zip.
Flash custom kernel (optional).
Flash root (optional).
Reboot and profit.
How to clean install:
Download the latest Pure Nexus zip, your choice of root zip (optional), and your custom kernel (optional) onto your phone.
Backup any important data.
Delete any Layers you have installed
Boot into TWRP and make a backup (remove any lock screen security before this, optional but HIGHLY recommended).
Wipe system, data, cache, and dalvik cache in Wipe > Advanced Wipe.
Flash Pure Nexus zip.
Flash custom kernel (optional).
Flash root (optional).
Reboot and profit.

A note about Open GApps:
If you want to flash Open GApps, you MUST omit the Google Package Installer; otherwise, your permissions requests will be elongated and unpressable. To do this, follow the below process before step 3 above:
Download the appropriate Open GApps zip and place it in the location of your choice.
In the same location as the GApps zip, make a file named ".gapps-config".
In that file, simply type "PackageInstallerGoogle".
Save the file and continue on in your process.
To read more on this, visit Open GApps' wiki. This process is NOT necessary with Banks or PN GApps.

I'm not asking about stock app, I'm asking about Google's. Does it have the flickering on this ROM? If I have to use some AOSP crap I think I'll stick to Nitrogen OS and save the flash.

[ROM][5.1.1][OTA][UBERTC][-O3] Resurrection Remix v5.5.9 15/12/2016

ABANDONED!
The development has been abandoned because:
1) I still have J5, but i dont use it anymore since i own Huawei Nova.
2) I dont really want to keep my PC on for 4-5 hours to build a ROM in which people are not really interested considering that they are crazy about Nougat.
3) When ive built RR and Slim for first times, i was running into errors regarding the ROM as the development for LP and MM for those has stopped. I havent wrote the errors and solutions and i would need to spend time again to find those if i wouldnt remember them.
The ROM is stable and is running fine, but make sure to check the bugs list in post #2.

5. Enable the unlock bootloader option at Developer Settings (if you can't see Developer Settings, then go to Settings > About phone and tap 7 times build number).
6. Reboot your phone in download mode by keeping pressing Power button + home button + volume DOWN button at same time for few seconds. After an blue screen will appear, press volume up button.
7. Connect your phone with usb cable to your PC.
8. Open ODIN program and an number should appear at ID:COM. If it doesn't, then make sure that the phone usb drivers are installed.
9. Click on AP or PDA ( according to the version of odin which you downloaded) and choose the TWRP recovery you've downloaded and click START. Wait until the process finish.
10. Now go to TWRP recovery by keeping pressing Power button + home button + volume UP button at same time for few seconds.
11. Choose Wipe, then Advanced wipe and choose Dalvik Cache, System, Data, Cache Android Secure and /hidden (if available). I recommend you to wipe Internal Storage too, to avoid issues (Optionally)
12. Now choose Install and go to the place where you did put the ROM and choose it. Wait till installation finish and DON'T REBOOT YET.
13. [OPTIONAL] Flash GAPPS.
14. Wipe dalvk cache & cache.
15. Reboot & WAIT 5-10 minutes until it boot!. Only first boot is longer. NOTE: When you reboot, if Settings ask for SuperSU access then grant access!

NOTES:
When you reboot, if Settings ask for SuperSU access then grant access!

Black Shade said:
This is a great introduction for everyone who wants to use this ROM for the first time.
Coming from a TouchWiz based ROM, you'll appreciate a noticeable performance bump with all the benefits coming with any Nougat AOSP ROM. Since it's an AOSP ROM, you have to keep in mind that you won't be able to use all the TouchWiz apps and features, SPEN only works as a stylus and camera isn't that great - but this also depends on the app you want to use.
Performance and battery are pretty good by default, but you may consider flashing the other kernel. This ROM comes with Samsung kernel pre-installed, which is great for performance, but uses more battery and tends to overheat sometimes. Emotion kernel is great for battery and doesn't overheat nearly as much, but you may notice some framedrops in animations. You can configure them manually anyways, using the Kernel Adiutor app: both kernels come pre-rooted, so you can accurately balance all the parameters and get the experience you wish.
There aren't many known bugs, the most important issues have been solved in the past months, I've been using Resurrection Remix for almost 6 months now. Sometimes camera gets stuck when taking photos with flash, forcing you to reboot your device to fix it. I was talking about camera quality before, and I have a pretty good solution for this: just download HTC Camera 2 from APK Mirror (try the latest version, if it shows compatibility issues just uninstall it and look for an older version); this is the best app I've found so far and I'm really satisfied by the results. The other issue is related to Bluetooth: some users have reported issues when connecting to their car Bluetooth systems, keep this in mind as a possibility. Other than that you'll only find a couple glitches, like a couple toggles not working properly in settings. There may be some stability issues, for example my Google+ app force closes sometimes, but it's a bug related to Nougat itself rather than the ROM.
Since this is an AOSP ROM, there's a lot of stuff to play around with. You may start changing system sounds, boot animations and themes. Keep in mind that sometimes you may go too far and your device could end up in a bootloop, but don't worry about that: just go into TWRP and flash the ROM again, clear caches and you're done, system will boot and all your data will be there. System apps or mods you installed will be removed though. You may know that, but in case you or anyone else doesn't, I wanted to include this.
When first flashing this ROM, remember that you should change your /cache and /data partitions to F2FS, you can do that in TWRP (once at a time). This will give you better overall performance. When flashing a ROM without F2FS support they should be automatically converted back to ext4; in case this doesn't happen, you can do it manually once again.
The ROM comes with Magisk pre-installed, it's a RR team decision. Some people don't like it, and you can remove it. I won't tell you how, but you can look for tutorials yourself. If you want SuperSU back, don't use the Play Store version: instead, you should look for the latest .zip package on the Chainfire Google+ page and flash it from recovery. This ROM isn't able to pass the safetynet test yet, so you won't be able to download certain apps from Play Store, thanks Google.
I think that's all you need to know. I hope it helped you to get an overall idea about this ROM!

To reduce the battery drain, I have made the following settings in the kernel adiutor:
1) CPU Voltage: -25mV Global Offset (300MHz starts with 700mV) -> Apply on boot
2) CPU Hotplug: Disable MPDecision and enable AutoSMP -> Apply on boot
and finally use a black substratum theme which reduce display consumption.
Theme Suggestions:
PitchBlack Origins
Swift Black (Thx to Black Shade)
S.I.X Theme
DNA Project
Please note!
The wipe process that is a part of the installation procedure deletes some important configuration data, ie. BATTERYSTATS, which keep track of the battery's power level. These data ensure a balanced power management profile for all the hardware components of your phone. This is normal and nothing to worry about at all. Your battery drain will return to normal within a day or two.

This is a AOSP rom, No Spen support... some features are accessible with third party softwares.
Can anyone advise if camera works with flash and Bluetooth work on this Rom? Attempted most recent MM rom of Resurrection and camera with flash crashes the phone.

I juggle between AOSP & Touchwiz very often. If u need better camera, volte, tons of features(including Spen) stay with touchwiz, Else move to AOSP if u need stock interface with mediocre camera(comparitively) but on the highside u wont notice any lags and the experience will be fluid.
I quickly dirty flashed over emotion aosp. Everything seems to be working great! Thanks for another welcome N Rom. I'll give it a good go now. I hope my random reboots might be gone :good:

Disclaimer:
We are NOT responsible for anything that may happen to your device as a result of flashing ROMs, kernels, or installing any other mod. You are responsible for your own actions and bad decisions - so stop blaming others!
This is a user friendly thread. Please be respectful and courteous to other users. While feature requests will be considered, AquariOS tries to maintain a ROM that is smooth and stable, so adding every feature under the sun is not the plan here.
READ!1. Unless I tell you otherwise, you MUST always, absolutely, positively, most certainly wipe data AND system before flashing AquariOS...without a doubt!
2. Don't report bugs if you haven't followed directions - most likely it's user error at that point as far as I'm concerned.
3. Always run a backup before doing anything.
4. Provide a log when reporting a bug (see more info below).
5. Be respectful.

Q & A
Read this before telling everyone something is broken!
1. Android Pay isn't working!! What do I do?
Go into Magisk settings and toggle on the "Hide Magisk" option. Then try again. Also, I've found once in a great while, even with this enabled, it will say it failed - if this happens, just try again...it'll work.
2. It's bootlooping after flashing ROM with Magisk - now what?
Don't flash Magisk until you have already booted into the new AquariOS build at least once. If that wasn't your issue, sometimes Substratum overlays can cause bootloops. If you have anything applied, flash the SubstratumRescue zip from your substratum directory
3. Why is the built-in System Theme section greyed-out (background, accent, & fonts)?
When the Substratum app is installed, this section will become inaccessible in order to prevent conflicts. You CANNOT use them both at once!
Reporting a bug?
See how to do so here:
BEFORE REPORTING A BUG:
1. Flash the SubstratumRescue zip and see if your issue is still there.
2. If you have flashed a custom kernel or ANY OTHER MODs, delete 'data/system/packages_cache' then wipe dalvik/cache, and flash AquariOS again WITHOUT any additional modifications/custom kernel.
3. Check to see if your issue persists.
*Do NOT even bother reporting an issue if you have dirty-flashed AquariOS over some other ROM! We WILL be able to tell!
Logs are crucial to resolving almost any kind of issue. You need to provide a log in order for the issue to be addressed. Please also include info on how to reproduce the reported bug if possible (maybe even take a screen recording for us ).
If you need a log extracting app, try out CatLog!
Either save your log locally and share it, or paste your log into an online code sharing tool like hastebin.com - then share the URL after hitting the SAVE icon.

Hi!
Didn't boot on my Huawei mate 9.ended on a bootloop .
can't boot on huawei honor v9
Sent from my Honor V9 using XDA Labs
Haha every gsi should support huawei first because huawei's maximum devices are treble supported
OP, Please endeavor to compress your files before uploading. It's not everyone that has all the bandwidth or data to download such large file. Thank you.
Does this ROM support app scaling? I mean I've got 18:9/18:8 aspect ratio devices on treble roms I've tried I get a huge black bar at the bottom.
Great to see you guys in the GSI section. Be good to have AquariOS on even more phones now!!
Sent from my OnePlus6 using XDA Labs
Can we get GApps
Can we please get a version of this ROM with GApps included like the AOSP build? That's what is stopping me from using this ROM, I really dislike TWRP and I want to use fastboot, please give us a version with GApps included? Thank you :good:
I know, will be better with those features. That's a bummer, won't boot on my Huawei mate 9.
32 bit A only please. Moto g6s are getting left out of the GSI game and if I didn't have 3meg internet I'd build one myself.

Moto G6 Plus. If we wipe system, TWRP reports no OS installed and bootloops.
Tested on P8 Lite 2017, it is bootloop with or without wiping system partition. It is an interesting rom that I will try next build, thank you

AOSP Extended is an AOSP based ROM which provides stock UI/UX experience with useful customizations. Being based on AOSP it provides a smooth experience. We have added useful customizations from various other open-source projects and have tried to keep our things simple. A ROM by a user, for a user. #BeExtended
#ExtendYourDevice Here are the Extensions! on top of AOSP! We are constantly trying to update the list. Our aim is not to provide all the features available on earth. We aim to add important features that we think should be here and also what you think. For the addition of more tweaks or features, head on to our Telegram community and post the list of features that you want! Features with commits will be more helpful!

I guess there is nothing wrong in reading facts!
-Why no "Incremental/Delta updates" Support?
->The updates we provide monthly are heavily changed and modified than the previous builds. New stuff is merged and added. So we don't provide incremental updates and recommend a clean flash.
-How do I root this ROM?
->We recommend Magisk
-Does this ROM Support Substratum?
->Google killed Substratum support in Pie. You can use it, however, you need to be rooted. We don't support rootless Substratum.
-Which Gapps are recommended?
->OpenGapps and BitGappps
-Will this ROM relock the bootloader?
->No.
-What about XPOSED?
->XPOSED is still in the beta stage. We like Xposed but it messes up with the system so before giving any bug reports make sure you have Xposed uninstalled.
-When Will Be the Next Update?
->No ETAs, please. ROM Will be updated whenever the new build is ready by your maintainer. We generally provide monthly updates with the latest security patches and new features.
-Adaway is not working
->Download it from here Adaway
-SElinux Linux mode changer app is not working nor Busy Box installer app is working.
->Everything is good with the sources. You should try other things first and then contact your maintainer.

Awesome job on this!! Anyone who hasn't tried these AEX builds I highly suggest doing so. Good stuff!! Appreciate your work bro!! [emoji106]
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
thanks friend, I tried crdroid, also very good, but the battery drained very quickly, so I started looking for an alternative rom, and this is great, I solved problems I had on crdroid with moto g7 power, such as low sound, and the battery life.
BUT, I have a problem, when I enter games, everything is fine, when I unfold the notification bar, the screen mitat changes colors, as if it were a cable TV noise effect, but colors, and when I upload it, everything is fine . Anyway I have it for daily use and boy is it going well.
THANKS FOR AOSP EXTENDED ON MOTO G7 POWER
Thank you O.P.
Again for the best overall rom for the g7 power.
Everything works including google chrome.
I got root and micro 10 gapps installed right after I installed this rom using the method I posted awhile back for the aosp 9 (pie)rom that a user on here posted.
I changed a few instructions . Twrp still has the no touch issue on all aosp roms for some reason.
That's why i flashed all zips during the rom install.
Then back up the boot.emmc and use the patch file method to root in magisk.
Again my daily driver. Much thanks.
hello good morning, this rom does not allow me to record internal audio, any possibility of correcting it, I will not use this rom again until I know if there is a rootless solution, I wait for an answer if possible, this rom has a lot of potential, thanks.
Recording works on this rom.
I flashed the moto camera android 10 version, also I use HiQMP3.apk for voice record.
Google assistance works..
What errors are you getting when trying to record audio?
AEX with my MetroPCS XT1955-5
I want to try AEX with my MetroPCS XT1955-5. I already have it unlocked. I've been waiting for a rom like this. I am starting a new job and would like to use this for my data, hotspot, and tether. I've read that now carriers can find info about my phone through GAPPS. Should I worry about installing GAPPS and have my phone blocked from my provider (Tmobile)? I might try to use Visible in the near future, I am looking into it.
Anyone have experience with a carrier blocking you because of GAPPS?

I've never heard of carrier blocking because of not using gapps. I've used micro g and fdroid on a few devices I own for a while off and on and have never had such an issue and I have Metro by TMobile... I can't remember if I used this rom with micro g and fdroid or not but the developer that built this is very knowledgeable and helpful and is or was much of the time on the Moto g7 power support group. You could go there and ask. If he's online he will surely answer you or you could just install it without gapps and flash nanodroid micro g and fdroid from there and see what happens. Should maybe be an option some place in settings for signature spoofing if its there in the build. I can't recall. I've since moved on and now use another device but worth a shot. Definitely check out the G7 Power group. There are MANY people there who share many things about all types of stuff and they're extremely helpful!! I'll get messaged by a mod if I link it here. I believe the op is the only one who can post a link to telegram. This is a very solid rom though and I used it quite a bit on my G7 Power and never had an issue with it. :good:
I believe I used AEX with gapps. I wouldn't worry... Do you mean because of wifi tethering? I don't have all the answers mainly because my memory sucks and I'm kinda old ? but I know the guys and gals on telegram group most definitely know the ? solid answers to all your questions.
Nano Droid thread is here. Has micro g, fdroid and a bunch of other things... https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-nanomod-5-0-20170405-microg-t3584928
