MIUI 9 Theme Creation - Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Ive requested a designer account and got accepted. I went on official web theme designer but this tool is VERY limited with custom options.
Is there another and better designer tool that we can use or install on a computer?
Thanks

No one on xda knows how to create a theme on miui? Really?

I'm sorry , but i don't. You can find lots of tutorials on the internet but if you want to get deep in designing a theme , you need to know how to code.

I'm planning to try on tickle my Android. I just got it set up. That is for Windows. It's an xda program for theming.

Yes, MIUI Online theme maker is very limited. If you plan on creating advance MIUI 9 themes then you will need the latest MIUI Theme Editor which you can get from here: http://c.mi.com/thread-658768-1-0.html. Do note however that this theme editor will take some pretty steep learning curve. And if you want to really customize the theme you'll need to at least have google translate beside you or learn chinese ^_^.
you can check out some of my free themes and use it as basis if you want to: http://zhuti.xiaomi.com/search?keywords=jenz1

mi note2 need pitch black theme for his amoled

How do you redesign themes that are made by others

I wanted to know if there is a program that can do what you guys are talking about. I would like to make my own themes with themes made by other people. If the is no program then where would one start. Thx in advanced.
Ok I don't want to piss people off but how can I make a theme. Where do I start, is there a program to help you make themes instead of copying off of people. That's what I really like to know.
What mind of theme are you talking about? There are different methods for different types of themes.
I think u just need Photoshop and u have to edit the images then repack them to the zip for install just be sure u don't lose where the icons are placed and don't rename them... I think.... but I have no idea "/
CM7 wtf else....
Well I'm talking about themes poeple make that are in android market. I dont know what type of themes they are. Forgive me I'm new to android, I had a iPhone 4 and used winspc to change themes other people made on cydia.
Now do you just got to only use Photoshop cuz I use gimp is it the same.
You can use any image editing software. Read this thread. It pertains to the same thing that you are trying to do. You will use almost the exact same process to edit themes made by others.
Like the previous posters have mentioned, Photoshop or Gimp photo editor which is free would be your best bet, if you wanna make your own designs... If you want to theme your home screen using other people's work visit this thread, might help you out a bit.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=901649
It also has an instruction on how to change the icons after you make the design
Good luck!
If you use anything that is not yours, ask first. A lot of time goes into making a theme (even a not-so-good one) and I've seen too many people just say "credit goes to blah blah" but never asking. Please be considerate of the work of others.
As for actual theming it all depends on what you are theming. Some apps (launchers and widgets mainly) have built in theme functionality and should have a guide specific for them. Theming a ROM is a lot more time intensive and involves decompiling frameworks, setting up development tools, dealing with many possible problems, hoping compiling works, being frustrated about forgetting something, testing, etc. etc.
good info was looking for something very similar
Is making a them for a stock MT4G that uses the theme installer different than those made for custom ROMs?
It seems the androidian theme is the only one that can be installed and used on a stock MT4G. I'd love to see that exact theme with the green replaced by a dark gray.

[Q][Help] Porting .apk's WP7 style

Hi i found apk's styled to Windows Phone 7 (Mms.apk, Phone.apk, Contacts.apk, and there is framework-res.apk, and much more) it is made for Galaxy S I9000.
here is originar thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=910918
is there any option or someone who can help or port those apk's to X10 mini pro.
i don't have so much knowledge to do that i only know how to resize png's and decompile apk.
I'll be grateful for any help
Well, porting will be much work..but at least there are some developers creating some WP7 apps, they are even working on our QVGA devices
Have a look at: WP7Android.com
If you make a little contribution you get access to all (full version) apps - for lifetime!
Theming the framework-res.apk (statusbar, buttons and all that stuff) is not that big problem, but how to resize an app, i don't know either so we need some more help
Apkmanager or apktool, it has nice enviorenment and noob friendly ui
@Nitroboy tnx i will take al look
@ glavic i allready have apkmaneger for decompiling and compiling and so.
I dont know how is with smali and java :/

Well, now the new site since August 10 is: http://sevenplusandroid.org/
And I found also this theme here in the forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1219691
I just want to clarify that http://sevenplusandroid.org is not the new website, but rather a separate organization from http://wp7android.com. While some of WP7Android's developers (notably ZPlayer and WP7Lock) have joined us, a number of other developers are a part of this project (notably Timo of Launcher 7), and it is under different management so to speak. Nonetheless the ideas are similar, we seek to provide an entire suite of applications for any Android device with the WP7 style user interface.

You Create Icon Pack, I will supply the Icons

Hey guys, I was just looking for a tutorial on how to create an apex launcher icon pack. I found it but it was so complicated that i found an idea. I wanted to create an icon pack with Symbian Belle icons. I will supply all the icons and any one person can compile them and make an icon pack. He can then give me a copy of that icon pack and then do whatever he wants to do with the rest(sell it in the market etc). I will also supply the icons if requested of any app/game etc. Pl help me and you can also make some money out of this if you decide to sell the icon pack in the market. Just write my name in the description:angeloptional). Thanks guys hopefully someone will contact me:fingers-crossed:. My email: [email protected] :highfive:
Search in android development and hacks, in theming forum or something similar . You have tutorials, i was reading some yesterday.
SKYDRAGON Team
Really cant make the thing
Thanx for the support but i wanted you to know that i really dont have the brains for it and really would like to meet a person who agrees to the above terms thanx contact me at [email protected]
I'll build the apk for ya. Give me a few days to find some free time.

[Q] Easy way to make Icon Packs without knowledge in coding?

Disturbing question in a dev forum, I know. But I have to try it at least.
Okay, I'm a graphic designer with no knowledge in coding apps. I am able to customize CSS-code to some degree, but maybe that's not relevant.
All I want to do is to make MANY nice icons (which is enough work for my taste), bundle them into one package that is compatible with Nova, Apex, etc., and upload it in Play Store.
Any tools out there that are helpful and easy to use? Preconfigured templates with an UI, maybe?
Or would it be just a waste of time?
Thanks for any advice.

Eclipse, with the Android SDK and plugins will give you just about everything you need to create an icon pack (except the necessary artistic ability :silly: ).

Seems kegit
I don't think I am qualified to be on a design team. I was just wondering if their is a way to design my own theme from scratch or at least learn how to modify a current theme. I will check out the videos...

Yeah, i also read the entire tutorial, but seems too work for me apply a theme, delete all elements, and start create something from scratch. But it seems the only way to normal people like me to create new themes.

We're working on a function that lets you start with a fresh blank screen, but for now you'll have manually remove the widgets etc. We apologize for the inconvenience.
the ability to start from blank screen would be very good, but to be honest I haven't seen the video but find it more fun to see how others have worked a theme then edit etc to suit my own needs,by adding or removing items. One feature I would like however is the ability to switch styles without having to go into settings and applying an exported style a bit long winded for me,a quicker solution would be great.
nice one!
+1
add a blank empty theme into the gallery???
are there any templates or do i just pick the resolution i want in PS and overlay the grid according to the themer settings? (9x9 for example?)
already use a blank template but would be good to start from scratch within the launcher
As in a blanl photoshop template? Would it be alright to grab a copy please?

What we meant is an option to select "Apply a blank setup", that will include something along the lines of a single blank white page with now icons or widgets. For now though you can still achieve this, simply remove all the pages on your current theme as well as all the icons and widgets and then export the theme to use it later.
To export/save a theme: Themer Settings > Advanced > Export Theme. This theme will now be saved in the Exported section of the My Themes tab.
Hope this helps!
