Various Mods for 8.1 June Update - Google Pixel 2 XL Themes, Apps, and Mods

I have put some mods into an Aroma installer for the Pixel 2 XL. This is for stock rooms.
The Aroma's come with the following options:
Clock mods
Navbar height adjustment 30-48 dip
Internet Speed indicators
Battery percent on AOD
Battery icon remover
3 Minit Battery Mod (install MinitBatteryResources.apk first)
Enabled stock WiFi-Data in-out arrows
Custom one percent batteries
Colored statusbar icons
Colored Notification Backgrounds
Colored Notification Text
Colored QS backgrounds
Colored QS text
3,4,5,6,7 column QS tiles
Navbar swap of back and recents
Invisible power menu button in far right hand corner of statusbar. Tap closes the screen, long press brings up the power button menu.
Remove carrier text
Remove NavBar completely, choices of 3,4,5,6,7 column QS.
Invisible home button on far left of status bar option in case LMT or other mods don't start on reboot.
Flash the base first. It is at the bottom of the selections. After that you can flash away. No need to boot between flashing. There is a stock restore option as well.
Edit: AOD version clocks show up on lockscreen instead of the system icons. Can't seem to get all off together.
Ability to add your own custom NavBar icons:
Instructions:
Make a folder on your sdcard called "custom"
Put the NavBar Icons of choice in it. Don't forget "dark" ones if you want them to change color on light background
If the Icons are material by google, select the option corresponding to your Navbar height. If they are not material, flash "custom icons with no padding" (last option under Navbar height). In order to swap icons you will have to go back and flash aroma again and flash either navbar swap with corresponding navbar height if they are material or custom navbar swap, (last option under Navbar swap) if not material.

TWRP themes. I did not make these themes but I changed the color and modified the XDA ones to work with dual boot pixel phones. Unzip and put a "theme" folder directly inside the TWRP folder on your sdcard. Inside the theme folder put the ui.zip of your choice.

Transparent - This is untouched by me as it was already dual slot ready. You can upload the background png file of your choice. Click a button rather than swipe when installing.
A few more, two dirty unicorns and resurrection remix's and a material transparent.

Nice, I'll give this a try. Do you know if using any of the navbar height mods will cause the back, recent buttons to get smaller? So far, it seems that all current navbar height mods will cause this.

I think the dev replaced the buttons as they are bigger now and do not resize.

Yes, I finally figured out that little problem and Navbar height should work properly.

You're welcome. I wasn't sure I could get Aroma working without a working custom rom to grab the binaries from but it seems to work okay.

Can you share with me what you did to fix the issue? I'd be curious for going forward.

I can't express my gratitude enough for making the clock mod with day and am/pm. I've been wanting that for awhile now. My only complaint is that when modding the clock, it seems the status bar icons stay lit for the AOD. I had this issue when I tried a substratum center clock mod as well, so I think it's a code thing. Again, thank you for this, and your hard work.

Every clock mod seems to do this - the developer who posted the Navbar-hiding zips also had center clock in some versions and the same issue happened. I figure it must just be that the stock systemui apk has some switch enabled to mark these as hidden on aod and we don't know what exactly that is yet.

sorry, posted in the wrong forum..

I hate this "5 Limit Thanks per day" ****.
I would've hit Thanks, but I'm crashed out.
Anyway, nice theme.
Downloading now.
btw: Fully white out the numbers, because weird people can still crack the last four numbers. My wife gets phone calls long ago about people breathing heavy and ****. Had to change her phone number.... I used to develop ui and themes for symbian os, nokia's, before going to Android. I'd white out parts of the number, and i started getting those for the wife's phone (her phone was my dev phone)
just my 2cents
Pretty sweet dood, had sone framework edits done to the latest bionix and flashed this and looks way better than how I had it.
Thanks a lot.
So which rom/roms is this capable with......like Trigger 2.1.1 is way different than 2.5 etc.

it is.....thats the beauty of using metamorph, i can make specific changes, as opposed to using a flashable zip which just replaces framework-res.apk entirely, even if only one .png was changed.

Okay thank you...im about to flash over EDT 2.2.1 Beta2 Will Report back with results!
You did a nice job putting this together
Seems to work great with 2.5.
Unfortunately since 2.5 uses LauncherPro, didn't see those cool dock icons.
Also, in Metamorph, Pick Existing just opened files like a file manager and didn't apply. Only way I could bring up "apply" was through the extract screen.

Im currently working on a very slight update, im adding a black carbon background to the quickpanel icons (wifi, gps, silent, autorotate icons in the pulldown menu)

[7/30][Port][Elegant][Universal/Aroma][Clean ROM 3.5V Mods][Additional Options!]

Please read!
This is my first time doing a universal theme, there are MANY things to keep in mind.
1. Flashing this will vary with every rom, why?
- Every rom is built differently, for example Beans has many XML edits to make the text blue therefore on some roms your text will be stock.
- There can also be edits done to XML's to point to certain images, if you flash this on a rom and it doesnt look like the below images, thats why.
2. VERY important if you guys want this as complete as possible.
-VRThemes work by finding your APK and then extracting the images into its place. For example if you have Gmail.apk in data/app and I have the Gmail app named, "com.google.android.gm-1.apk" then the theme will not apply. Some roms will have some APK's named differently. If you come across something that isnt themed, simply use ES File Explorer and find the proper name for your .APK (usually located in system/app) and PM me with the APK's name and what rom you are using.
Dont forget to hit thanks, its the least you can do.

All carrier signal bar and 1X, 3G, 4G are themed. I dont know if I already did that in the last update but yeah.
Aroma is now ICS blue . Looks neat.
5/21/2013 - Added Blue and White clock color options. Revamped the, "mods" menu. Changed the toggle icons for the stock Samsung toggles and lidroid toggles. Themed more white and blue 1X, 3G, 4G icons for other carrier's and international roms.

100% Increment batteries with 13 blue batteries and 8 white batteries.
Carrier logos with 36 different options.
100% and 50% transparent statusbar. (DONT USE 100% STATUSBAR TRANSPARENCY WITH WHITE STATUSBAR ICONS BECAUSE SOME APPS WILL MAKE THE STATUS BAR WHITE.)
4/26/2013 - All I did is fix something in Aroma and themed the in-call statusbar mute icon.
4/23/2013 - I've added Aroma! You can pick between stock battery and 1% increment battery (this varys by YOUR ROM.) Added a themed loading icon, fixed the "in-call" icons to better match the rest of the theme, themed all icons to the right hand side of the status bar to ICS blue. If you notice something isn't themed PLEASE let me know.
4/15/2013 - Initial release.
Notes:
If using Nova and the icons dont display then go to nova settings>look and feel>icon theme>default.

Hi,
Confirmed working on Omega ROM.
First theme I tried for my Note 2. Thanks!
One question, if I want to edit something from AROMA again, do I just wipe dalvi cache/cache and run the AROMA again?
Confirm fully working on my galaxy note2 N7105 stock rom.
Thanks

[THEME] 3D blue Toggles and Signals (stock/23toggles/simplistic)

This is a small theme to change Toggles and Signals along few other images here and there.
It is intended as a small addon/modification for the latest Motomoto theme (here), mostly to add the 3D toggles to SF 3.6.
But it can be used on its own too if you just want the Toggles/Signals.
Anyway I suggest to Flash it after Motomoto theme.
Please let me know if there are any problems, I tested it only with Simplistic Framework 3.6
For Simplistic Framework don't forget to:
Go to Semplistic Control - Statusbar Toggles -Toggles Colors
Set Background Color to Black
Set ON Icon Color and OFF Icon Color to transparent (input #00000000 in the Hex field, press Set and then press the transparent color box)
Download here: N2_MMaddon_theme_tacchan23.zip - 29.13 MB
Glass Battery with numbers for Simplistic Framework attached at the bottom.

- Added 3D Toggles for Simplistic Framework 3.6
- Changed some icons on the 3D Toggles.
- Changed some icons in Settings app.
- Changed some icons in Power Menu.
- Changed some icons in Status Bar signals/notifications.
- Changed bottom notification bar to stock.
- Some more icons changed in the framework.
- Added Glass Battery with numbers. (for Simplistic you need to instal the apk and enable it in custom batteries)

I think I fixed it. At least now my Settings app looks nice at 210dpi with xposed mod.
You can try the new zip N2_MMaddon_theme_tacchan23.zip - 29.13 MB

I set the build prop to 240 dpi with a Editor .
I change the system Ui apk to test it but this png is still there after the change!
Does this create a backup in case we want to revert?

If you want to try to fix it, you can have a look at the checkbox images inside my zip (vrtheme\system\framewrok\framework-res.apk\res\drawable-hdpi) and resize all of them about 1.5 time smaller.
Honestly I am not very good with how different dpi works... I'll have a look when I have some free time if you can't fix it too.

It creates a backup of all files being modified in /cache/vrtheme-backup/
But honestly I never tried to restore it nor I honestly know even how to do that (if it's a flashable zip backup or what etc)

Hey
Nice looking theme. Can you explain something to me though. Every time I apply a theme with simplistic framework the toggles in the notification pull down never look like they should. They always have a bluey green back ground. I can never seem to get them as they are ment to be. Any ideas why this is?

@fkfmfz
@krowley3
@dwitherell

@eZdubzitmk4
Without these guys this phone would suck, and you wouldn't have TouchWiz KitKat. Extremely grateful to watch them develop all these roms for you, learn a lot, and be a part of something better than a rom, but trying to get people on the same page for the better of the device. That's what this shiznit is all about.
***YOU MUST BE USING PHILZ LATEST RECOVERY. DO NOT REPORT BUGS IF YOU USE SOMETHING ELSE***
***THIS ROM IS EXTREMELY DEBLOATED....LIKE 400MB LESS THAN THE ORIGINAL RELEASE. THIS BUILD DOES NOT CONTAIN NOTE 3 FEATURES. IT BARELY CONTAINS NOTE II FEATURES. S-NOTE...GONE. SCREEN MIRRORING...GOODBYE... WHAT I'M GETTING AT IS THIS BUILD IS GEARED MORE TOWARDS PEOPLE THAT WANT THE STABILITY OF OEM FIRMWARE WITHOUT ALL THE GIMMICKY FEATURES. IF YOU LIKE THESE FEATURES YOU CAN EITHER ADD THE APPS BACK (PLEASE DO NOT REPORT PROBLEMS IN EITHER THREAD IF YOU DO) OR FLASH SOMETHING ELSE***
PLEASE NOTE AFTER INSTALL HEAD TO THE PLAYSTORE AND DOWNLOAD FOLDERMOUNT AND RUN THE APP. IT WILL FIND A CORRUPTED FILE AND FIX IT

Rebased off of Odin tar base from this rom from Krowley3. A special thanks to him for letting me use it.

POTATO GESTURES MOD
First, what this mod does is allow you to use gestures within your status bar. JUST SWIPE AND DOUBLE TAP ON THE CENTER OF THE STATUSBAR. ONLY FUNCTIONS THAT WORK ARE MUSIC GESTURES. SET DOUBLE TAP TO PLAY/STOP, AND SWIPE ACTIONS TO SWITCH TRACKS IN THE POTATO STATUSBAR GESTURE APP IN YOUR APP DRAWER. DO NOT REPORT SYSTEMUI FORCE CLOSES IF USING ANY OTHER FUNCTIONS. NOTE YOU WILL ALSO NEED TO SET STATUSBAR COLOR TO TRANSPARENT FOR THE GRADIENT APP TO WORK PROPERLY.
WHAT DOES NOT WORK:
CUSTOM STATUSBAR COLOR
SHOW AVAILABLE MEMORY
SLEEP
POTATO STATUSBAR GRADIENT MOD
What this mod does is allow you to select up to 4 colors for your stausbar. Transparencey is supported, and you can choose which direction the gradient goes
POTATO STATUSBAR CLOCK/DATE MOD
This mod allows you to put the clock and date wherever you want in the statusbar. You can choose multiple different formats including text clock. If you know java you can create you own display style! NOTE: IF YOU USE CENTER CLOCK THE TICKER TEXT WILL OVERLAP THE CLOCK. UNFORTUNATELY THERE'S NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT IT.
CPU SPIED
Yet another great mod from Potato Inc. This mod shows your CPU load as well as governor in your statusbar dropdown. Use the control app to toggle on/off and toggle governor.
MIUI BATTERY BAR
Yep, its an MIUI battery bar. Select different colors for different battery levels or go one solid color. Adjustable width, and animations.
NETWORK SPEED IN STATUSBAR
Selectable on/off, choice of incoming, outgoing, and incoming/outgoing. Custom color, refresh rate, and hide when inactive. TO ACCESS SETTINGS, GO INTO SETTINGS/DISPLAY AND SCROLL DOWN TO MORE SETTINGS
3MINIT BATTERY MOD
This mod let's you choose from over 1200 battery styles, all support custom size, multiple choices include custom color, multiple choices of charging animation.
3MINIT QUICKLAUNCH
This mod allows you to choose custom app shortcuts in the Notification pulldown. There's an app avaliable in the Playstore for full control of this mod. The app is paid so I can't link it, just search 3minit quicklainch
6 SELECTABLE GRAPHIC EQUALIZER ANIMATION
This mod displays a graphic equalizer animation in notification pulldown. Use the visualizer app in the app drawer to select between 6 different graphics, or turn it off.
ADDED SD CARD READ/WRITE FIX
REMOVED IME SWITCHER
REMOVED LOW BATTERY NAG
REMOVED FULL BATTERY NAG
ADDED 4 WAY REBOOT
DISABLED SIGNATURE CHECKS
DISABLED ASEC STORAGE
ADDED 0.25X ANIMATIONS SPEEDS AND SET AS DEFAULT, ALSO ADDED SOME WICKED ANIMATIONS TO GO ALONG
ALL APPS IN MULTI-WINDOW
QUAD WINDOWS IN MULTI-WINDOW
REMOVED AIRPLANE MODE NAG SCREEN
REMOVED BLUETOOTH NAG SCREEN
LOCKSCREEN NOW ROTATES PER SYSTEM SETTING
REMOVED NOTIFICATIONS/ONGOING/NO NOTIFICATIONS TEXT FROM PULLDOWN
REMOVED TOGGLE TEXT
ADDED RAM INFO IN NOTIFICATION PULLDOWN
REMOVED STATUS BAR OVERLAY
BREATHING NOTIFICATIONS FOR MISSED CALLS, MESSAGES, AND ONGOING CALL NOTIFICATION
REMOVED AUDIO LEVEL WARNING NAG
MOVED AND CENTERED THE CLEAR NOTIFICATIONS BUTTON
ADDED APP OPS TO SETTINGS
LINKED NOTIFICATIONS AND RINGER VOLUMES (FOR SOME REASON IT DOES NOT DISPLAY IN REAL TIME IN THE EXPANDED QUICK VOLUME PANEL, BUT WORKS PROPERLY. DISPLAYS PROPERLY IN SYSTEM SETTINGS)
REMOVED CARRIER TEXT ON LOCKSCREEN
ADDED CRT SCREEN OFF ANIMATION
XPOSED PROOF FEATURE.XML
(If you wanna add your own tweaks or use your own, feature.xml is now RebootROM.XML in system/csc)
CUSTOM BOOT AND DOWN ANIMATIONS
NOTE:THIS DOES NOT HAVE BOOTANIMATION.ZIP SUPPORT, I MADE CUSTOM SAMSUNG QMG FILES

Great work Man
Glad to see you making some nice additions to the 4.4.2 Rom Selection :laugh::good:
Love some super trim roms. Any idea if the USB dock audio out works with this build? Seems to be hit or miss with 4.4 tw roms. Almost always worked with 4.3 two roms.

I think the devs just wanna leave all apps in for functionalities sake and that way people can choose what they'd like. But I hate bloat and don't use all the features of the phone so I make slim builds.

I tested it today. It does work!
On an unrelated note, some of the fonts are too big. Getting random buttons that only have a few letters of the word. Like one was a button that should say simply 'continue' but instead it had 'co' on one line and 'nt' on the 2nd line. I wanna say it was Titanium, and it was other apps as well that had large fonts in some random spots, but the buttons in pop up messaged were almost all big fonts.

Yes solved! I install again the rom and everything is OK now! Thanks
hi @glfsd
love your mods (especially the black transparent notification and the Analogic Clock in "no recent panel")
i installed the mod without the power button in statusbar and FULLREC No1
all works perfect.
i just modified your mods a little bit
a) changed the navbar buttons to the ones from the sappy theme of @niaboc79
b) changed all icons in settings into grey from the brown copper theme of @niaboc79
c) went back to no tinted navigation bar (tut by @idid idamrep
for me now eXistenZ MM 5.1.0 is fantastic and almost perfect.

Thanks [emoji2] work perfectly
If somebody love a pure and minimalistic look of the statusbar i really recommend the mod from @Ticklefish
you can find it HERE. Just follow the TUT.
Works without problems and looks fantastic in combination with this mod from @glfsd
(to get this new wifi symbol, you have to modify the systemUI.apk of this mod)
@glfsd
