How: remap the shortcut key (volume up) to open led light (flashlight) WITHOUT an app
Shortcut key? What shortcut key are you talking about, where?
If you mean hardware button... Can't be done without either extra software (an app) or with root, which also actually requires an app or features in a ROM.
If you mean some kind of shortcut key on your locked screen for flashlight, there's already one available. See the flashlight/torch over on the right by the bluetooth?

There is an app for LG devices.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp
It works on my V30 for volume up button.
Volume down button sticks to open camera.
I changed volum up as flashlight.

He says he specifically does not want that app or any extra app.
He said in his post, "yes i know about lg key plus app. but i want to do it without any extra software on my v30. "

always display on is off with my phone. key plus works but not sure if this is setting changer or a background app :\

Oh, I missed that part.
Sorry for the wrong info.

Yep, it works been using it for a few years..

Cool App--LMT

I'm not sure if anyone else has tried it, but LMT launcher (not really a launcher) DOES work on the DX2!! Only setback I've found so far is that "slices" used for app launching, literally show up as "app". This is fine for me though, because I'm just using it for toggles, and those icons are showing up--at least on CM7--I haven't tried it on anything else.
If what I've said confuses the mind, here are a few informative links!

This app would be perfect if I could figure out how to launch the stock task switcher from the pie. The task switcher button wouldn't work, and I have tried keying longpress of the soft home to trigger recent apps, but no luck. Long press of the search button (to trigger voice search) worked great.
Its a pretty cool idea. And it matches the browser quick controls so I like the consistency. I tried it out on my phone for a little while but ended up disabling it. I have so many ways already to quickly launch apps and get into settings etc. lol.
About the app icons, if you go into the settings and scroll all the way down, there is an option that says "Show app images". Set that to 1
funny..... in the youtube video you link, it shows how to make the app icon show up. just sayin. you made it sound like it didnt/wouldnt work or something.

Homescreen spacing issue after soft key removal

I know I'm nitpicking here but after I installed the GMD softkey remover it drops the home screen down just a bit and leaves a space up at the top. If it turn on the soft key spoof mode it just moves everything up and leaves a space at the bottom. Here are some pictures to show what I'm talking about. Red bars show area I'm talking about.

Soft key spoofing on
Is there a way to add some padding space above the dock buttons but below the homescreen grid? I've tried different launchers but I cant use the stock weather widget for some reason.

But then I lose my softkeys all together. I still need them to pop-up so I can navigate. Actually, how would you navigate without the softkeys completely?

LMT launcher, gives you keys similar to PIE controls.

Awesome, I'll give that a try.
In my case, I take em out (soft keys) and navigate and do much more with GMD Gesture Control.
Cheers!

How to access settings in PlayerPro?

Hey guys, my friend has an S5 and I recommended that he should install PlayerPro as it's a great music player but mainly because it has great bass once the DSP pack is installed. This is where the problem lies, there is no way to access the settings to turn the DSP pack on as the menu button has been replaced by the recent apps button. There has to be a way to access the settings unless the PlayerPro dev(s) haven't got round to updating the app to include the 3 dot menu button that most apps have. Can anyone shed some light on this issue my friend is experiencing?

Hold down the recent apps key, it then should be the settings key.
Here it's shown on my S5

Wow! Why didn't I think of holding down the recent apps key for a few seconds.. Haha I feel really stupid now! :sly:
Thank you very much for the answer @Mingo3k

I hold down the recent apps key and it goes to multi windows mode. No settings menu
The App has a problem with big screens.
I used the Player Pro with Galaxy S Plus and S5 Mini. No problems to find the button for settings. But with Galaxy Note 3 there is not such a button on the screen.
So you need the "the recent apps key".
That not intuitive. Bad usability!

[App] FingerPrint Launcher

Use your Fingerprint to launch apps quickly. You can set each of your fingers to open different apps
Want to open an App real quick? Tired of using gestures? Want a faster way to open hidden App? The FingerPrint Launcher is the right one for you.
The FingerPrint Launcher allows you to open an app real quick with a touch of a button, anywhere and anytime. You just have to just select which finger launches which app*, then you hold down the menu button and let the app scan your finger and your done. The app is immediately launched.
You can replace your traditional app lock software which consumes a lot of battery with the help of this App. Most Launcher comes with a hide an app option. So just hide the app and set FingerPrint Launcher as the easiest way to open your hidden app** .Instead of using gestures to open an app which any one can do, the fingerprint remains your alone.
The app uses long press home button to start scanning the fingerprint.
Should work with All Samsung Mobile with fingerprint sensor support having android OS 4.4.2+

*This version can only use two fingerprint
**Depending on the environment setup of your device, there may be other alternatives to open your hidden app.

One key control

Hi!
As you might know, the capacitive keys on this phone are not great. I've been using Button Mapper for a while and it works pretty good. But there's one thing this app doesn't support: swipe gestures. So, is there any app to enable this? If you don't know what I mean, look at Huawei's implementation in the image. I believe Meizu has a similar control scheme.

Hmm fingerprint gestures may be very useful but I do not think so that we can get it on Axon

Sorry, I'm talking about the capacitive keys, not the fingerprint sensor.
