Not to my knowledge, it seems that FunTouch (the fork Vivo has developed of Android) is particularly complicated to root for some reasons. The handset comes with options to "unlock boot loader" but I am not sure regarding the steps from there. From my searches is Baidu and on Chinese BBS-boards such as YDSS (can't link because my account is new) there is still no luck regarding rooting or flashing custom roms for Vivo x20/x20plus. :crying:
NO, and there won't be any in the future, because it is ONLY sold in China as a limited edition ...

Bought one ... very annoying but it doesnt allow you to change stock launcher. It always defaults back to the stock launcher.

[UPDATE] So it turns out you can change the stock launcher for the X20 Plus UD; you need to complete a second step which can be found in settings|security|replace the system launcher. However, in my version you have to first sign up with VIVO Cloud which requires a chinese phone number (it sends you a verification sms).
Loving the phone now!!

It might be /system/vendor/app then.
I have the same problem about the vivo account and I can't find the folder that you requested. So I can't change the launcher too

I have a "C3 note 2" too, i want build stock rom for you, but when i create follow link your post, i can't find a file name "MT6577_Android_scatter.txt", i'm try find it in google but file i found not working, all menu check unavailable... can you help me find a correct file ?

i have the firmware for 4.1.1 took me days to find battering chinese web pages and sites with many dead ends, i bricked my c3 note 2 and now it lives again, take this into account tho, even tho firmware says 4.1.1, when clicking fast on it instead of the jelly bean game popping up, it comes up telling me its ics still, so maybe the chinese are faking the revision to sell more phones, either way its a never version than stock 4.0.9. can i post a link here to it, if not message me and i,ll link it to you.

now I can root my honor 4x with King Root 4.1.
however, there is only one problem.
whenever my phone is in sleep mode (whether the phone screen is automatically closed or i close it), the phone automatically restart.
is there any solution for that?

issue caused by root or by something else?
whats changed since the reboot started? drop the phone?
it's like being a doctor and your patient tells you they don't feel well. by what has changed?their diet?their sleeping pattern?stressed at work?etc so many possible issues.
help yourself by giving as much information

solution is that i just upgrade the build number to B379.
btw, do you know how to add one more google account in CHE2-UL00.
i just installed google playstore from huawei center and it can only be added one account.
can help me, plz?

download Gmail
hit the menu tab on the top left corner
go right down to find "settings"
select add account.
i usually add mutiple google accounts though the actual OS settings tab. i guess you have already tried that and wanted to know another way.

what version of gmail are you using? and you got the gapps add on from Huawei?
I don't own this phone anymore. I sold it on and I had the EU version which came with it.
I have another phone with kitkat and it is easy to add from android settings and clicking accounts. however the method I told you was adding another account from gmail directly.
also off topic, you can unlock your phone bootloader if required- which will void warranty. you can flash a custom recovery and flash supersu this way if you cant root kingroot way. also you can probably flash official gapps.
but if you have root, you can use tools such as flashify or flashfire to flash custom recovery.
always make a back up before you do anything crazy as well

How did you upgrade the phone?
Mine is already rooted through Kingroot and when i try to upgrade to Lollipop it says installation failed without a reason why it failed.
i copied the update.zip to my dload folder in SD card.
Should i rather use the internal memory to do it?
I did it through EMUI manual update by the way.

This link (V919 AIR CH 双系统android固件(V7版本)-20160429) is a new version of Android 5.1 - V1.0.0_V5, build date of April 29. The main difference - the presence of preset gapps. Binary file "su" in the present system, but the question is about activating root-access remains open (in the previous version I su/SuperSU integrated into the image, this will have the same).

Choose: you can use my version: enabled root access (version 2.65 free of Chainfire) and ejected the Chinese program (but the language at first start - Russian). At the same time density of the screen I adjusted to a comfortable value. Or I can put the original, for example, in Google.Disk.

I'm afraid not so simple. You had to change something in the BIOS settings? This is a possible cause of loss of sound. Firmware will not help here.

Yes, indeed, if update the firmware to version 20160429, some of the revisions of the tablet the sound disappears. I can advise you to try version 20160307, rooted and gappsed (added in the thread from the link above).

There is no way to root it, impossible, No "One-click root" softwares/apks work, and also the fact that it has no "install" in the recovery menu isn't helping, oh and it's in chinese as well

For me it worked at first with kingroot.
Then I found boot.img on needrom, and patched it with magisk (via adb/fastboot), and now I have magisk root

This is my first Oppo Device and i have just received the Indian variant which i suppose is the global variant for this device.
The device is gorgeous in terms of look and feel and i am yet to explore the software which i suppose is the sad part of this device.
None the less, any quick tips & tricks will be highly appreciated :fingers-crossed: I will try and compile it all in this thread.

These are some of the useful settings and apps that i installed:
1. Nova Launcher Prime Version:
No need to uninstall the stock launcher, just install Nova > Restore your previous backup and done, The Launcher also works with the built in gestures and no need of a separate app to be installed for the gestures.
2. AccuBattery
As ColourOS does not show battery stats and SOT, i will use this app to monitor my usage.
3. Andromeda & Substratum
I use to heavily theme my devices when it comes to devices like OnePlus but as there is no way to root for now, i use Andromeda & Sunstratum for theaming some of the apps. My setup is usually blacked out and it looks awesome on the amoled screen. The theme i can recommend is Swift Black for a blackout experience.
PS: Avoid Android System and System UI Overlays as the theme is not Oppo compatible but you can blackout the apps.

i doubt that Oppo kernel will make crossflash from a variant to other one ....
We should request to Oppo developers Team to open this job or better to open bootloader : [email protected]
Meizu is usually really more closed that Oppo, but they allow unlocking bootloaders
So it does have a different model name than pafm00. Interesting. Does it allow you to set more than 5 apps for back ground use in setting?

IIRC,you purchased this phone on FlipKart.
It appears FlipKart is for those residing in India only,less using 3rd parties to order &/or ship for you,to destinations outside of India.
My question is this:
Do you have any recommendations for those of us outside of India as to ordering this phone & shipping?
Any ideas would be welcome,including other e-sites &/or 3rd parties that specialize in this scenario.

Sadly it also has 5 app auto run limit, so no escape from that for now unless we have root, I don't see a workaround.

Well Flipkart does not deliver outside India but you can create a virtual PPO box address and get the device delivered in the US http://www.ppobox.com
I remember i got my OnePlus One this way in early 2014 when the device was not launched in India.
