Xperia X F5121 {OREO} 34.4.A.2.19 Battery ??? - Sony Xperia X Questions & Answers

Xperia X F5121 {OREO} 34.4.A.2.19 2018
abnormal draining of the battery : (
I did not go back to the previous firmware less battery but now I have 50% of the battery in 12 hours now, is it normal? : (
3 day use 34.4.A.2.19 but nothing has changed is just worse : (
Have any idea ?????

Oreo in general is HEAVY for Xperia X, battery Drain is TOO high, I switch back to android 7.1.1
For sony Stockrom
-MM is best for battery life but many feature of N arent there so after a while I started missing those (specially the way N handles notifications)
- N is reasonabily ok with battery life (build .252 Dec17 (android 7.1.1). has alot of value added features, better notification panel to handle and once rooted with Magisk, flashing Sysconfig and Doze; it gives you 6hrs of battery life (heavy 4g usage)
- O is basically NOT for xperia X. or atleast Sony Stockrom on Oreo performs worse! gives you only 3hrs of batterylife (have 4g usage), device heatsup more and snapdragon 625 processor starts lagging. So after trying both OREO Builds released .364 and .19 (6feb & 25feb) I have downgraded my self again to N and I am gonna keep my device on N only.
OMNIROM
- I found Omnirom 7.1.1(Android) working wonder on Xperia X where battery life is concern! watched full 2hrs movies and the batter drops was only 20%
- however omnirom is basically on AOSP so no premium featurse. Xperia X becomes one of those lowfi android devices but if you install all the apps maybe you can live with it. (there is no xreality engine working for xperia x in omnirom so i kinda miss that Vibrant screen. but battery life is too good!
if you are ROOTED then consider flashing DOZE and SYSCONFIG PATCHER in MAGISK
it helps!

Very thankx you bro

From my tests, the battery and the general performance are identical on Nougat and Oreo. Never seen it seriously lag on either.
PS: the SoC is a snapdragon 650, not 625.

Kit kat has poor battery life
Lollipop is on initial stages which is highly unstable
I wanted to ask you guys that which rom are you using and why?

any ICS rom should be best for battery life, i have experienced many JB roms (all are based on munjeni's port? so it's actually the same rom with some tweaks) and they drain the battery very fast, which gets me to the second issue, you should check what kernel you are using, because that can make a difference too, what governors you are using, if you are using greenify or amplify to reduce system load.
anyway, the sola is a poor phone, except for the dual core cpu i find it very problematic, with the touchscreen errors while charging, battery drain jumps (all of a sudden 20% of the battery goes away), charging problems and so on, it's an experiment sony tried but it seems it didn't work out that well, the floating touch which I think is the source of all these problems never caught on and was not added to any device since then, still the sola is a special device for the ones that want a phone with special features (e.g. the only phone in the world with floating touch).

[XU]Your Rom Experience

Greetings
I have some Problems with my Sony Xperia U Phone. Any ROM i try , the battery drains are really heavy compared to my One Plus ONe with Sultanxda´s CM 12.1 based ROM. I barely get 1day pure standby time with no other apps installed....just clean (i dont use the phone! just idle for testing). I charge the phone at night and on the next morning only 30-50% battery are left(androidOS on top). I tried [4.0.4] BendzooROM ; [5.1.1][v2][2016/04/02] Enfriar Z5 and [4.4.4][FINAL BUILD][XperiaSTE Team] CyanogenMod 11.0
Atm i stay on CM 11 and try to optimise the battery Life via Wakelock Detector/betterBAtteryStats/batteryCalibration and recommend settings (the usual routine to find the culprit).
So far i disabled cLock because it scans for Location (weather Widget) and keeps the phone from DeepSleep.
Also i disabled Calendar/CalendarMemory/OpenDelta.
Another Process is "mal_isi" @Kernel wakelock (betterbetterystats) but i dont know what the process does.
I have basically ran out of ideas....So i need some suggestions/help/hints for ROMS/Kernel with good Battery Life (3days is OK)
PS: The reason for this --> my mums first smartphone experience ! And i dont wont to tell my Mum she need to plug in the charger every 8-12h
PSS: Sry for the bad english (greetings from germany)
Have a nice day and big thx
[EDIT]
Just for your Info. The Phone last for 6 Days !!!! with minimal usage @ [4.4.4][FINAL BUILD][XperiaSTE Team] CyanogenMod 11.0 !
The Solution was this:
"So far i disabled cLock because it scans for Location (weather Widget) and keeps the phone from DeepSleep.

First time Sony user

Hey, i got a sweet deal for brand new Z5 compact, and bought it for a family member (previous phone galaxy s4 mini)
Compact size (and good reviews) were deciding factors
I'm a long time nexus user and don't know anything about Xperia in general, apart from reviews for Z5..
Can you help me with a bit of tl;dr what should i expect from software in general, and Z5 model? quirks, problems, something i should watch out for or modify?
I'm not gonna root/rom if not necessary, want a stock stable android and maybe cosmetic changes with a good launcher or similar
any help appreciated
Overheating, bad camera image quality, battery drain, lagging due to old CPU, 2G ram and aggressive throttling..
My advice would be get newer model instead like X Compact or XZ1 Compact if you have higher budget.
I'm a old Nexus 4 user too. I bought my Z5c when my Nexus 4's screen become unusable after it was dropped. I've installed official Lineage OS on my Z5c. I'm not a heavy phone user but occasionally in the day i look up reddit use firefox to read/search something and listen music when I'm using subway and of course use Whatsapp to communicate with my friends. I don't use Facebook on my phone. Installing Lineage rooting via Magisk and installing Brevent app for increasing battery life made phone my favorite. It endures my daily use for 2 days without charging sometimes it may go 2 and 1/2. The features of stock rom like Bravia engine were not interesting for me and considering the bloatware included it's hard to call that they are worth it. I generally don't use my phone as camera but sometimes take quick photos of the landscapes with scenic views. Camera quality is enough for me. I'm not taking 4K videos w/ my phone anyway. There is a feature of stock ROM that I miss though. The iOS like selection magnifier for text boxes was a killer feature of stock ROM. RAM usage dropped 200 MiB and responsiveness of the phone is significantly increased with LOS. It is a great phone overall.

Well, i bought it already X or XZ1 would be in much higher price range than for what i got.
It's gonna be very very lightweight usage, basic stuff only, so only thing that concerns me is that 'battery drain' after nougat update?
Is that issue fixed with some recent updates or still a problem?

Huh man, now i'm thinking of Lineage ^^ i know it's better os, but i used nexus because i didn't have time to constantly updating my roms and guessing will my camera work properly with new one etc.
If i decide to flash Lineage, can you tell me is it streamlined and documented properly for Z5 so i don't waste hours on research?
And also, is nougat battery drain still present? any major bugs in Lineage for Z5?
tnx for replies!
I'm running latest stock rooted. Having overheating and lags when browsing webs..
wipe calvik data cache...remove bloatware (spotify, moviecreator...) try again...after that the phone works as it should
100% use LineageOS. Performance and battery life life are phenomenal compare to the latest stock firmware.

I just tested to see how much battery drain will happen when phone is not in use, no sim card, connected to my wifi, with stamina turned off.
It's siting on my desk for 3 days, currently 45% battery left, thats not bad right? i'm sure that with sim card it will be more, but still..
If i go for LOS Can you tell me what version should i go for, for most stable performance? I see there is Stable Release Date: 2017-08-27..
tnx

Hey, look for the official LineageOS rom. There was an unofficial that was compiled by someone but it seems that he's stopped.
I've recently gotten an Z5 Compact too.

Overall it's a good camera in Z5C.
Camera quality is pretty much same same for Z5 Compact and X Compact, the XZ1 Compact has somewhat better image quality though.

Marshmallow, Nougat or Oreo.. For Xperia X.. Which one is the best..

Which one is the best in performance wise and battery as well..

The best custom rom for Z Ultra so far?

Hi guys. I am using Z Ultra for 5 years and i want to install custom rom. Yes i know that there is so much roms and most of them are old but i want to use something stable and i want the phone to be a little more snappy because sometimes is a bit sluggish. Good battery life is a must too. I am using mainly Chrome, FB messenger lite, Gmail and a couple of games (Titan Uprising and Asphalt 9). My phone battery life is somewhere around 5 to 6 hours of screen time (sometimes 7 hours if im more carefull). So i did a little research and i have selected those custom roms:
1. HybridRom Concept EditioN - stock based rom and i can use Sony goddies. Also support UB and LB but i think UB + custom kernel is the best option.
2. LineageOS 12.1 - current security patches. How is battery life?
3. ResurrectionRemix 5.8.3 - possible problem with touch but i can use the fix.
4. RXSW Z5 Experience [v14.00]
5. Nimadroid Rom
6. Other suggestions?
I need stable rom with minimal bugs because i am using my phone a lot.
Thanks in advance!
Ive used nimadroid rom, he is my frined actually, its very good, fast and no lag, but battery is a littel drain than stock

Thank you for tips, do you know if screen mirror and hdmi over usb works reliably in nimandroid and not by occassion as in sony rom ?
Me too - I need a new update for my Sony ultra z. But I worry I'm not able to use banks app with custom rom as some banking apps and e wallet apps are really picky once it knows the phone has been rooted.
My gps navigation is very sluggish to start too - every time I go to a new place I had to stop on the roadside as gps signal either lost or not connected.
Count me in as well. I've got two kids and we give our old phones to our kids after updating them You are not alone
I've tried https://www.getdroidtips.com/custom-rom-sony-xperia-z-ultra/ Android 9 Pie, but i don't seem to get touch working
I seem to need a different kernel to get this to work. Anybody got Android 9 Pie working with touch working? Any tips to share? Thanks in advance
