Constant High Disk Write Activity for No Apparent Reason - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I own an Asus Zenfone Zoom that occasionally experiences a random high (internal/system) storage device write activity. It won't stop until I restart it. What's really frustrating is that I cannot track which app uses the memory chip, because the system monitor doesn't provide such information. There are no system monitoring apps that can make such information (the disk usage per and by app) available; I can only see the chip having a high write rate, but I cannot track which app does that.
The occurrence is apparently random - it happened one time after I used the camera and one time, recently, after I plugged the charger in. It stays somewhere between 50 and 100 KB/s and it causes a bit of lag - just some dropped frames; it doesn't affect the performance consistently but it's obviously abnormal and anyone would want it fixed.
I attached a screenshot taken from the app Simple System Monitor. I used more system monitoring apps and all of them provide the same results, so it's definitely not a matter of monitoring app malfunctioning,
Does anybody experience the same thing or it's just me? I'm looking forward to a solution. Thank you!

"Android System" battery drain too high

Hi,
I've tried a couple of roms recently, but I am a bit bothered by the battery usage by "Android system".
My phone is only giving me around 4 hours of screen-on time.
Sometimes, these system processes:
Binder_2
kswapd0
Peak my phone CPU usage. Under "screen", they are usually the top consumers. Is this normal?

Here I was playing ingress on and off for around 4 hours. For those of you who are not familiar with it, this is a game that uses GPS, Wifi, a mobile data connection, and your GPU, all at once. The battery drain was so bad I had to plug in my battery pack just to get through these 4 hours. And note - the screen was not even on the whole time! Point being, android os and android system managed to consume more power than ingress for that period of time.
I see nth wrong. Looks logical.

Set alerts for data usage

Hello. Before the Lollipop upgrade, I was able to set an alert when I reached a preset level of mobile data usage. While I can now see the graph for data usage, I no longer see a way to set the alert. Does anyone know how to set this?
MT2L03, EMUI 3.1
It should be in the settings, on the graph itself. I don't remember if Huawei changed it on EMUI though.

Hi ScoobSTi. You are correct for standard lollypop but Huawei appears to have changed it a bit. The graph is still there but the options to set the alert is gone. It's a pretty graph though. :-/
I can't find how to set it but I still get a warning over 2gb. Next time I get it I will see if I can find the setting on the screen that pops up.
Here are the pics that it exists, but for the life of me I cannot find how to access them. I don't know if they defaulted over somehow from JB cause I don't remember setting the limit on LP.
ok this worked for me to be able to find it and edit the settings.

Many thanks! That worked.
No Problem I wonder if this could just be an edit in the build.prop

Charging and Battery problem

Good day.
I own a Zenfone 3 ZE552KL running at 7 Nougat and unrooted. The "System UI" always notify me that a high temperature of device is detected (as shown in the screenshots). Even when the device is not even noticeably hot and even when I'm not charging. As of this time, the phone won't charge when the phone is turned on. You have to completely turn the device off to charge, which is not convenient. I have a screenshot of a temperature readings of my device using CPU-Z and notice the "chg_temp" is noticeably high, even I'm not charging at the moment. Other s says that the electronics of the battery is broken, specifically the thermistor that sends signal about the charging temperature. I think it disables the charging mechanism when it detects the high temperature.
Can anyone help me somewhat solve the problem. Either by reconfiguring the system about this "chg_temp" by adjusting its limits or by simply disabling it. I cannot readily replace the battery since it's not already available in our country for purchase.
Please help me. Thanks everyone.

Question Google Weather App Location Issue

My wife and I both have a P6, and an issue is showing up with her's and not mine which I can't resolve.
In the Google Weather App, it has always shown the current location in the search bar at the top. Mine still does, but her's is blank:

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Additionally, when you tap the search bar it usually shows previous places you've used (along with your current location). Mine does, her's doesn't:
Every setting seems to be identical between our two devices, including location permissions. The conditions reported on her main screen match mine, but there's no way to tell what that location is.
Has anyone run into this? Searching online pulls up a lot of results if the app doesn't have location permissions set correctly, but I'm not finding anything regarding this.
Update:
After months of being like this, I made this post and then learned ten minutes later that the issue has resolved itself. So I think we're all good? Very weird.
More details:
Apparently there's a limited number of locations you can have on your list. My wife was able to remove previously-saved locations, and as soon as she did everything fixed itself. Strange issue. Hopefully someone finds this helpful in the future.
