Mate 10 Pro - huge delay, when unlocking with fingerprint, when AOD is on - Huawei Mate 10 Questions & Answers

Like the title says:
I've updated my device from 129 to 137 firmware with Firmware Finder. After update I noticed long delay, when I try to unlock the device with fingerprint, with Always on display on. When AOD is turned off, all is fine? I managed factory data reset, but it didn't help. Anyone else?

I'm on the same update c636, but no delays.

I'm on 137 (C432) and also noticed huge delay with unlock/screen wake up when AOD is on. I experienced more bugs(?) on this rom.

A friend of mine encountered this bug on his mate 10 pro C432 after updating to 137 firmware. While the AOD is on, press the power button / scan your finger -> after that, it takes about 6 seconds for the lock screen / home screen to show up.
I disabled "accessibility shortcut" in "accessibility" in settings and the bug disappeared. Turning the option back on again didn't make the bug reappear...
Maybe try the about suggestion... it might fix it for you too.
Edit: the bug is back. It seems it has nothing to do with the above. Apparently, sometimes the bug is present, and sometimes (for about an hour) it just goes away by itself...

Where exactly did you find this option? I can't find it anywhere...

Settings - > system - > accesibility - > accessibility shortcut.
But I also edited my above post. The bug is back...

Yeah, found it, but it was already disabled, when the bug appeared. Turning it on and off doesn't fix it...

Hi, any solution ?

Nope, waiting for next update, hope it will fix this issue.

Bump...anyone fix this super annoying issue yet?

I disabled AOD to get around mine. When I was getting this bug, you could hear the unlock sound but the AOD would still display. I would lock with the power button and then unlock with fingerprint again and it would work.

Thanks, gave that a try looks to have sped up unlock! Now if I could only get HBO, showtime, movie anywhere to work...

Yay, they fixed it on 142 ?

Developer options may be the answer
Hi,
I recently updated to 363 (185) on my P10 plus
Lag returned - i previously had the problem that I was able to fix by disabling the accessibility shortcut above.
Current fix - worked for me:
settings -> system -> Developer options
Disable the following (update should have them set as 0.5x)
- Window Animation Scale
- Transition Animation Scale
- Animator Duration Scale
Hope this helps everyone on the Mate also
please let me know if it does.
Thanks

I've tried the prior fixes, and they don't seem to want to work.
I just changed my animation and duration scaling.
I'm running the most recent beta of Lineage OS from OpenKirin.
It's stable, and works just fine. This is more of a nuisance than a real problem.
I'll let you know if the fix applies to this build.
Thanks for the information!!

No joy, so I'll wait to see if it gets addressed in the next betas with OpenKirin.

Notifications delayed/not showing up when screen is off

I have a pocophone on global MIUI 9, and whenever a notification is supposed to pop up while my phone is asleep, it doesn't. It shows up when I turn the screen on instead. The app I'm testing with is IFTTT.
I've already disabled MIUI optimizations, disabled battery optimization for that app, allowed all permissions, allowed autoboot, and turned on all notification options. Still happens.
Any way to fix or do I just have to wait for custom roms to fix Xiaomi's mess of a notification system? Anyone know if MIUI 10 fixes it?
Go to lock screen and password, check wake lock screen for notifications. That should resolve this

It's already on.
I don't mean that the notifications show up but don't wake the screen, I mean that they don't show up at ALL until I wake it myself, like the app is frozen.
Have you put an aggressive battery management setting in place? Or is the battery saver mode on? That might delay syncs
For me turning off non interactive mode in battery settings did the job. Since I disabled it all notifications are popping up as they should.

Sorry for reviving a dead q&a thread. Its actually xiaomi fault. Got 3 of them device and all reacted the same way. No way you can fix it either with custom roms nor kernel. The only way to fix this is to install SOD killer and let it run. Youll get your notification instantly.

Ahhh!!! This had been driving me crazy! Sometimes I'd be alerted to a new SMS; other times the phone wouldn't beep/vibrate, flash the LED or produce a notification.
I've just disabled this setting:
Settings -> Battery & performance -> Scenes -> Non-interactive mode
Non-interactive mode
Don't light up screen for notifications, turn off
LED light, fingerprint sensor, and touch controls
to save battery when MIUI detects you aren't
using your device.

Did it fix the problem for you? It didn't for me.... I have this issue with Gmail notifications and nothing seems to solve it. I'm on MIUI 11 Android 10 from Xiaomi.eu, and the worst thing is that it didn't happen on Android 9... So things went wrong for me after the update.. Any idead, anyone?
i started having the same issue with miui 10 onwards and never with miui 9 or non-miui custom roms.
Has anyone tried the Adaptive Notifications function from Developer Options in Android 10? Does it change anything/fix the MIUI notifications management?

Yes -- it seems to have fixed the problem. I don't use GMail, though.
Actually, I've missed a few alert sounds (far far fewer than before). I'm not sure if it's just that I didn't notice, or if leaving the app open and the screen on (sometimes?) prevents the alert sound...? Probably just me!

I can't see that setting in the MIUI 10 developer options. I've searched around, but I don't think it exists in MIUI...
Good for you man! It seems to have helped a little bit for me as well, especially with messenger notifications, but the Gmail ones are still delayed
I think I can live with it for now.
Adaptive notifications have been introduced in Android 10 so you need that and MIUI 11 apparently.

Power button delay caused by Google Assistant (9.0 Pie)

Sony seems to have added a double tap shortcut for the Google Assistant on the power button. This causes a short delay when opening the display. Did anyone find a way to disable this?

I don't know if it's a placebo effect I'm having, but changing it to none only disables the Google Assistant. The delay is still there. Hope someone confirms this to me, it kinda irritates me.
I was also having this exact issue.
Immediately after going from Oreo to Pie, I was shocked at the delay (even with the power key behavior set to disabled).
Not sure if I am just getting used to it, but it doesn't seem as slow as when I first disabled the setting.
Do you still feel a delay after using it for some time? Shortening Android animation speeds also helps to make it faster.

Definitely still noticable if I look for it, but I got used to it. I like the animation speed so rather not speed it up. I still hope that they fix this next patch.
There is some specific timing to it. If I wake the phone after it's been sleeping for a couple seconds, then there's almost no delay waking and unlocking.
But if I press the power button twice consecutively (or within a couple seconds), then there easily at least a .5 second delay.

We just have the normal sleep delay : Settings / Display / Sleep
That's for the confirmation

My changelog for MIUI 11

I just installed it about 2 hours ago, and I've noticed many new details that Xiaomi didn't mention. This will include most of the new, missing, broken things etc.
The 'new' changelog :
- New scrolling mechanism; it is now an ios clone, and I LOVE IT. It is super smooth! However, it only applies to system apps.
- Faster fingerprint unlock; it is noticeably faster. I'm still not sure if the bugs regarding the fingerprint reader is fixed though.
- The sleep/screen timeout option is now present; previously missing on MIUI 10 :/
- Blur app previews in multitasking; you can now select the apps you want to be blurred in the multitasking section.
- You can now view the battery % next to the icon; previously fixed to in the icon.
- Updated camera app; decreased delay when switching between lenses, stickers and filters in the 'short video' section. Processing is probably better.
- You now have the option to disable quick shortcuts on fingerprint reader
- Updated android boot logo
- Gesture stutters are completely gone!
- Notifications now stay permanently in the status bar!
The things that are missing/broken
- Still no voLTE option
- Audio is still 96kbps
- AI button settings keeps crashing
- Screen randomly turns on multiple times when charging (your mileage may vary)
Do let me know in the comments on what I'm missing

In eu rom 9.10.31 nothing of these.
I have a voLTE working, maybe you mobile provider is blocking this options. There a thread here on XDA about how to force unlock them.
Audio where? just checked in recorder, it's up to 192kbps.
AI button settings, works fine.
About screen on charging, may be i just haven't noticed

Well, this is an official OTA from Xiaomi themselves, eu is always better than the stock MIUI.

Help! Ambient Display & Wake Up not working

After more updates, the screen does not show the time after tapping. It only reacts to tilting. Both in Beta and stable version !?
Does anyone have the same problems?

Hallo guys, does anyone have any other idea to restore Ambient Display and double tap to wake up?
I even went back to ver. OS 10.0.3. They only worked a few minutes properly :-(
Then frozen again. I went back to ver. 11.1.1 and I am waiting (I hope) that someday OnePlus (apparently already OPPO) will write an appropriate amendment.
