Lenovo VIBE K5 A6020a40 | No OS, No Recovery, Bootloop - Need Solution - Lenovo Vibe K5 Questions & Answers

I was flashing TWRP in my Lenovo Vibe K5 A6020a40 yesterday. Flashing was successful, I rebooted into recovery and TWRP recovery mode also opened. Then I made a Backup of stock ROM then I had to flash a custom ROM but by mistake I restored the backup again then I rebooted my devices again in TWRP recovery & then I wiped Data, System, Dalvik & Cache again then by MISTAKE I rebooted. TWRP was saying 'No OS Installed are you sure that you want to reboot?' then I rebooted.
Now, I don't have OS, No TWRP or Stock recovery, No Debugging permission. the only thing I have is Access to Fastboot mode.
I tried QFIL but it doesn't detect device in fastboot mode. when I reboot in recovery manually devices goes in Bootloops. What to do now? Please Help.

Hello!
Yesterday, I was testing another rom in K5 plus, and reboot did not leave the Lenovo logo anymore, I tried to install the new rom, and nothing, I tried to format and nothing, so I tried to restore the ROM stock.
Searching on google and youtube, procedure videos, I installed the drivers and downloaded the installation files and rom, qfil, qcom tools and Lenovo smart assistant, (the strangest thing is that behind the battery, it says the model is the a6020a40 and the box is a6020i36, and I go, so it is written behind the battery) happened the following:
Qfil: It gives Sahara error, every time.
Qcom tools: It loads, but the phone does not reboot, I was thinking it was a problem in usb recognition, so I tried, with the phone off, + and connect USB, where I loaded the drivers, so I took the battery and I I did the same procedure more now - and I did, I loaded the drivers tbm,
but even so, it loads the whole file, and the cell phone does not connect.
Lenovo intelligent service: I went in flash, I found the model of my device, (which is written behind the battery), downloaded the file in the rescue, and did the restoration, finished and at the time of starting, same thing, only the led , when connected from the usb again, a file appeared on the PC named DO. (everything in Chinese) just nothing happens.
What is going on? Has something disappeared?
Please, if you went through this, please help me.

use Qphil that will help... download qphil from xda thread u'll get the whole procedure to use qphil... i cant provide you the link as i m newbee here... and cant post links with my comment

Neither the recovery or something help me out, I was looking for the preloader or somethin ... I'm just desperate.
Some help will be very appreciated!
How did you root it?

its pretty easy, you can use the motochopper tool, instal the mtk6589 driver and connect your phone to the pc, then hit the runme.bat file and follow the instructions, very easy!
Here you have a very simple and good post that surely will help you.

You must be the absolute first to brick your w100.
Did you succeed installation of kok's rom ?
I bricked my phone too...
First I installed a partitioning app to my device, my plan was to merge the two inner partition into one.
Then i become frozen boot.
After that I tried reflash with sp Flash Tool, I made a "format" and a reflash, and now the W100 is in boot loop.
When I try to do a factory reset in recovery it says: "Mount /data error"
Could you guys help me please? What the hell can I do now...?
I've succesfully unbricked my THL W100

Hi everyone,
Few days ago, I've also bricked my THL W100... My mistake was one of the most stupid one: instead of click on Download in SP Flash Tool, I click on Format and accept the operation without reading the warning message. Result: first boot I got the white THL logo in bootloop, and second attempt give me only a black screen with only a faint red light on the front LED.
I've read many threads about unbricking MediaTek based devices, made many manipulations without success. I've even disassemble my device in search of a secret 'test point' dedicated to full memory flash.
Unbricking THL W100 in far more simple than all this. You'll need one of the 'THL W100 original ROM'. I've choosen the May 16th edition (130516) on NeedRom (http://www.needrom.com/phone-roms/thl/thl-w100/). And off course, you'll need SP Flash Tool, also available on NeedRom.
Unpack the Rom files, launch SP Flash Tool, and load Scatter file, and press 'Download' button
The 'deep memory flash mode' require activation of the 'MTK DA USB VCOM' driver. To activate this mode, you'll have to:
1) disconnect the battery
2) keep the Vol+ down and connect the USB cable (without battery)
These are the main operations...
For my problem, I've tried to flash:
- the whole Rom except Preloader... but it fails,
- the whole Rom including Preloader... but it fails too,
The solution came by using first 'Format' function, and select 'Format whole flash' option, before flashing Rom as previously described. But, I used this format function with classic flash connection, e.g.: connecting the THL W100 to the PC via USB cable without the battery, and inserting the battery (and no use of Vol+ button, off course).
Be carreful: before trying this kamikaze procedure, try to unbrick your device by simply flashing the Rom without/with Preloader.

Afraid I don't understand...
The format is what you had done to brick it in the first place isn't it ?
So you needed to format again using 'Format whole flash' option ?
Is that correct ?

True: I've bricked my device by using 'Format' with the option 'Format whole flash except Bootloader". At the first reboot, I got a THL white logo bootloop. After second reboot, nothing but a black screen and a faint red light from the front Led. I've tried 'Download' and 'Upgrade' SP Flash Tool functions to reinstall ROM(s) with or without 'Preloader' partition: got lots of sybilin error messages, and correct download.upgrade achievements, but my device remains bricked.
I've also tried 'Format whole flash except Bootloader' function + immediate Rom download, but it fails... until I use 'Format whole flash' function (USB cable connected + battery insertion) and immediately after whole ROM (130529) 'Download' (no battery inserted + Vol+ pushed + USB cable). First boot took about 4 minutes... but everithing works after that.

Hi everyone!
When I got my w100 I tried to put an other ROM with sp flash tool, flash tool process completed perfectly but when I tried to boot my phone, the pone it started up but the screen only showed white lines. I even heard the sound of the boot.. But screen remained black with white and other colours lines.
I tried to flash it again with diferents many ROMs..W100_130912_backup_131001-214504, W100_130504_ForFlashtoolFromReadBack_130605-170952, ThL.W100.130701.JBV2.HD.EN.COM.8P32_MT6589.
Even though the process got complete, the perfomance of the phone was the same as I said.
As I got tired of flash it once and again, then I followed your advice, so I did a "Format whole flash", I got it, but after I tried the "Download" I always get the same error, after first red bar it's 100% sp flash tool always shows the same message:
BROM ERROR: S_FT_ENABLE_DRAM_FAIL (4032)
[EMI] Enable DRAM Failed!
HINT:
Please check your load matches to your target which is to be downloaded.
Now when I tried to do whole format or download, I got the same error.
I tried by vol+ pushed + cable usb and cable usb conected without battery then I put de battery. But still the same result.
I'm starting to think that can be a motherboard damage or samthing!!
Can anyone help me please!!?
I found the solution!!
I did it by using Windows xp!!! Then the error message disappeared!! And i've got my phone working!!

Great! That work for my friend phone after a lot of trying , Thank you.

Brom error: S_ft_enable_dram_fail (4032)
Hello,
my THL W100 arrived yesterday and i was immediatelly interested in some custom rom so i began flashing it not knowing properly, what i was doing, so firstly i ended up in boot loop, then completely bricked with device refusing to boot (black screen).
I tried recovering using SP Flash Tool these builds, but nothing worked for me:
thl.w100.130529.jbv2.hd.en.com.8p32_mt65
ThL.W100.130701.JBV2.HD.EN.COM.8P32_MT65
ThL.W100.130802.JBV2_.HD_.EN_.COM_.8P32_MT65892
W100_130504_ForFlashtoolFromReadBack_130605-170952
I also tried using different versions of SP Flash Tool (.119, .139 .150), but all showed error BROM ERROR: S_FT_ENABLE_DRAM_FAIL (4032)
As said here before, tried on Win XP and Win 7 64bit and it showed same error.
So then being despred for several hours I actually dig up a lot on internet and found up some information:
1) There are apparently some hardware revisions, according to beginning of serial code:
BFYSG94W - Rev. 1
BFYSG9410 - Rev. 2
But my phone has CFYSGM4W - maybe its a new Rev. 3?
2) Based on many other mtk6589 phones having the same problem, you should look for firmware released by date of manufacture. It should be written somewhere, but I didn't find any information on device no package, so I decide to look for latest.
3) The phone shows up in device manager as "alcatel RNDIS" under network cards, I had to manually update the driver selecting "Preloader for Flash SP.Flash" .ini file manually from a disk. It may tell that the device may not work or something, but don't worry, reconnecting it shows up as MTK USB Port under COM and LPT ports and it should be fine.
4) I also had to disassemble to device and short LCOLO test pin to ground - here is the original post with image http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44208574#post44208574 I soldered a single wire of hdd ribbon cable to lcolo, the other side being wrapper around USB cable. I flashed without battery, shorted all the time. The Flash Tool immediatelly discovered the device, when the lcolo pin is shorted, then when progress bar turned from red to violet the MTK USB Port device changed to 'MediaTek Preloader USB VCOM Port' so the preloader was owerwrited and phone successfully flashed back to factory state.
(before you lose your warranty try connecting usb > inserting battery or connecting usb without battery + holding volume up, it does practically the same job)
5) There are lot of stock roms here - http://www.needrom.com/phone-roms/thl/thl-w100/
So finally the version that worked for me was: ThL.W100.130912.JBV2.QHD.EN.COM.V01.8P32-kol
I even managed to get CWM working, (used same scatter, checked only recovery and doble clicked and selected recovery-cwm-6037-w100-130912).
To make it easier for people having the same problem I put up the things that worked for me and uploaded it, includes:
ThL.W100.130912.JBV2.QHD.EN.COM.V01.8P32-kol
SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1316.0.150
recovery-cwm-6037-w100-130912
and drivers for ADB and Preloader for Flash with SP.Flash
http://www.4shared.com/archive/FjP0asvJ/thl_w100_rev3.html
I hope you will find my first post useful, sorry for my bad english
Regards,
Umakarton
I also received a THL W100 with a CFYSGM4W serial today.
I flashed a different stock rom to it and it refused to boot (just showed some black and white lines). Google led me here and your package worked great . I tried a few different roms but the one you provided seems to be the only one to work.
Thanks

[Ulefone Power2][Solution] for INSUFFICIENT BUFFER or Status_Sec_IMGHDR_Type_Mismatch

So i wanted to flash a new firmware on my MTK Device (UleFone Power 2), but i ran into some Errors while doing so, thus , my phone died in the process.
Following Errors occurred, depending on which (SP Flash Tool;SPMultidownloadflashtool;etc) you use:
Errors:
Internal Buffer
STATUS_SEC_IMGHDR_TYPE_MISMATCH
Through digging and asking on the web, two wonderful and very very helpful people: alterogi and finally Sunray888
This solution popped up. Thank you so much to both of them!!
Solution:
But first: You are now warned, try this at your own risk.
Quoted from Sunray888, alterogi. Credits to them.
My German Guide (more detailed with Pictures): Outside of XDA
Side Note: For the UP2 Rom you use SPMultiPortFlashDownloadProject , for the UK6P ROm you use SPFlashTool.
(Links & Attachments below!) (Adb-Fastboot.zip & Checksum.zip)
Part1:
1. Download all the files. (Below are the links and attached files.
2. Extract each zip to its own folder. Then Put the files of the Checksum.zip into the ROM Folder of the Ulefone Power 2.
3. Run the Checksum.exe and wait until it is done. It will show up in the black CMD when it's finished. A new Checksum.ini should be in the folder now.
Part2:
1. Make a backup of your NVRAM and NVDATA, a full ROM backup if you can.
2. Get the Oukitel K6000 Plus ROm Version 2.0 Ready. Extract it to its own folder somewhere on your desktop.
3. Open the SPFlashtool and select the android scatter file of the Oukitel Rom.
4. Connect your phone, hold Volume down and press on "Download" in the SPFlashTool. Now you wait for the process to end, WHILE still holding the button down.
5. After it is done flashing your new Firmware unto your phone, start it like you would normally do. Disconnect your phone now. You can now also skip the Setup Details, since we still have to flash the original Firmware.
6. Go to Device Infos on the bottom of your phone settings, tap a few times on Build Number until the Developer Options activate. Go back and tap on Developer Options.
7. In here you activate OEM Unlock and USB Debugging. Back to the pc: Now you open a CMD Windows and navigate to your extracted ADB-Fastboot Folder. (Some Pictures of this are on my German Tutorial Thread, Link above).
8.Connect your phone, tick the avaible spot of the upcoming new popup notification. Shutdown your phone now. Hold Volume Up and Power Button at the SAME Time until the Fastboot Menu pops up.
Make sure your phone is still connected to the pc.
9. In the cmd window you will now have to type the following thing: fastboot oem unlock
9.5 Another Method to get into fastboot mode: (OR enabled usb debug, accept connection between your PC and Ulephone and send command fastboot reboot bootloader after that "fastboot oem unlock")
10. After the process is done. You are still in fastboot mode.
And let the phone connected to the Pc.
11. Now you have to flash the original ROM/Firmware. In this case only Version 17 will work.
On this step i had a lot issues with "insufficient buffer"-Errors under SP Flash tool, but there is a solution for this.
Be careful :
Try to use #SPMultiPortFlashDownloadProject Version 3.1620 - only this software worked for me,earlier Versions i tried ( v.3.1636 ) always showed an Error.
Current Status: Phone is still connected to pc, fastboot mode, oem has just been unlocked by yourself.
What to do now:
12 Open the SPMultiPortFlashDownloadProject, load scatter file of the Ulefone Power 2 Firmware, then press scan. Nothing will happen now, so be quick: Don't disconnect your phone.
Press Volume Up + Power Button at the same time to simulate a new connection to the pc. While the phone is still connected via cable! We have to do this. You will now hear a sound which you normally would here when connecting a new device to your Pc. Now you just have to keep holding the Volume Up Key.
IMPORTANT:
Don't let go of the button until the Programm shows up a Green Tick which signals the end of the Process. Now you can let go of the button.
13. After the scan has finished, press start and flash firmware. But how? It's easy. Just do the same again. ->>
13.1 Press Start in the Flash Programm.
13.2 We have to simulate a new connection. Hold Vol+ and Power Button. Until you hear the sound again, now only keep holding the Vol+ Button.
14. Wait for the green Tick Notification. Until then: Don't you dare let go of the Vol+ Button. When it shows up, you're pretty much done. Congrats!
15. Restore NVRAM and NVDATA.[/I] through mtk engineering mode: open dialer and call *#*#3646633#*#* , scroll down to GRPS and type in your IMEI (can be found in the box, in which your phone came shipped with). If it says something like that it's successfully written.-> Activate Airplanemode, wait a few seconds, deactivate it, activate Mobile Data Connection and wait. It should show a mobile data active.
Download Links: (I didn't upload those files,i simply shared the links, all credits to their respective owners. Use at your own risk.!)
UP2 Rom: Google Drive
Flashtool for UP2 Rom: One Drive
UK6P 2.0 + Flashtool: Click me
Checksum Gen Zip: --Below--
ADB Components: --Below--
UPDATING:
After flashing V15 Ulefone Firmware, use the SP FLASH TOOL to flash the newest firmware via "Firmware Upgrade" mode. remember to keep pushing vol up before connecting phone!
How to:
Press Download in Tool
Push and hold vol up
Connect cable to pc.
wait until green tick shows up.
Profit.
Same situation here. I've tried flashing with and without battery, no success. I can confirm that I did NOT lock the bootloader. Not that it helps me much.
I've tried using different versions of SPFT in addition to the multiport tool, but they either don't work with Power 2 scatter file, or show the same error.
This can potentially be a driver / USB issue, so I will probably try that next (different computer, fiddle with the drivers). I've also seen claims that SPFT v3 can happily flash over this, and then newer versions start working too, so try that if you can. It did not work for me - the download never starts on my computer with v3.
I can also add that I can flash preloader as well, although I try and leave that off when possible. The modem and lk* partitions show the same error you have, though, and the phone is dead.
I have managed to resolve this with a lot of help from Vivanyok on 4pda.
1. Make a backup of your NVRAM and NVDATA, a full ROM backup if you can.
2. Download Oukitel K6000 Plus ROM v2.0. Only this version will work.
3. Flash it. It will actually work just fine, no errors. I've used the latest SPFT.
4. Boot the phone into Android. In Developer Options, enable OEM Unlock.
5. Reboot into fastboot, do fastboot oem unlock.
6. After this, you can simply flash any Ulefone ROM for Power 2. Win!
7. Restore NVRAM and NVDATA.
Hope this helps somebody.
Thanks for your reply!! I will try that and report back ! I'm so glad there are people out here who help !
EDIT: OMG, You are my hero!!! The Flash Process went just fine, no errors. It boots up. Thank you so much! Now i can flash like a devil again, haha
EDIT2: So i could use the phone with the oukitel rom but i want the original rom, firmware.
So here is the other Problem. I can't flash them. I either get insufficient buffer error or the imghdr error.
Could you link me what you are using? I really need the phone. Thanks for your help in advance.! :S
Hi sm00th4f3
I add some advices to Vivanyok instruction by red letters --->
I have managed to resolve this with a lot of help from Vivanyok on 4pda.
1. Make a backup of your NVRAM and NVDATA, a full ROM backup if you can.
2. Download Oukitel K6000 Plus ROM v2.0. Only this version will work.
3. Flash it. It will actually work just fine, no errors. I've used the latest SPFT.
4. Boot the phone into Android. In Developer Options, enable OEM Unlock.
5. Reboot into fastboot, do fastboot oem unlock.
OR enabled usb debug, accept connection between your PC and Ulephone and send command
fastboot reboot bootloader
after that
fastboot oem unlock
6. After this, you can simply flash any Ulefone ROM for Power 2. Win!
on this step i had a lot issue with insuffitient buffer under SP Flash tool, but yesterday i win too.
be careful :
after oem unlocking you should NOT reboot ulephone to Android, let phone stay connected to PC
try use #SPMultiPortFlashDownloadProject version 3.1620 - only this soft help me,earlier i tried v.3.1636 but always error appear.
and when i started flashing i stayed ulephone connected to usb (i dont disconnect phone after oem unlocking) and i simulated connection by long press volume UP + Power buttons. You can control connection by default PC sound.
due in SPMultiPortFlashDownloadProject other interface i did not change flashing type, it was firware update by default.
After that my ulefone become alive.
7. Restore NVRAM and NVDATA.
good luck, if any questions ask me on 4pda.ru
So, i tried your nice guide, and it finally worked!! Side Note is: After fastboot oem unlock you have to scan with the #SPMultiPortFlashDownloadProject version 3.1620 your phone first, and then like you have already said, use the volume up+power button combo to simulate a connection. and then it will be flashed. Holy crap. Thank you so much!!.
You are welcome, last three day i also tried flash my up2
Still same problem

Hi there,
Thanks for the instructions. I have succeeded to install the Oukitel V2.0 ROM on my Ulefone Power 2 and change OEM in Android and fastboot but still no success to flash the final Ulefone Power 2 phone ROM from the Ulefone web site. The flash process starts but after two or three download steps the flash tool (3.1620 in administrator mode) stops still with the STATUS_SEC_IMGHDR_TYPE_MISMATCH error.
I have also tried with another ROM coming from another site, but still same error.
Could perhaps provide me a download link to a ROM that you successfully flashed to the Ulefone Power 2?
Thanks for your help

Win!
on this step i had a lot issue with insuffitient buffer under SP Flash tool, but yesterday i win too.
be careful :
after oem unlocking you should NOT reboot ulephone to Android, let phone stay connected to PC
try use #SPMultiPortFlashDownloadProject version 3.1620 - only this soft help me,earlier i tried v.3.1636 but always error appear.

cannot find the up2 rom which can be flashed after flashing Oukitel K6000 Plus ROM. Please help...
Download Links added. There shouldn't be any problems using my method as long as you think as well.
Be aware that you have to use the Flashtool i linked, the exact same Flashtool Version as mentioned. Otherwise go to my german thread outside of xda to get more detailed pics.
solved my problem
this was the solution for me, thanks a lot....
recovered!
Hello guys! Thanks for the instructions, it worked great! Only thing, the fastboot you supplied has an password, so I used another I found online.
I finally got time to take care of my bricked Power 2 phone, and I got it back to life using the Oukitel method.
The phone works great, I only had to input IMEI numbers manualy.
Is there a need to lock back the bootloader, because now my device says "orange state", your device cannot be trusted?
hm hm.... fastboot allows me to lock the bootloader, but then the phone would reset itself to factory state for security reasons, so I will leave my bootloader unlocked, as I don't want to go trough the phone app installation and getting the settings to my taste
i just updated the zip..there shouldn't be a password anymore. ^^
For us, there isn't really a need to lock the bootloader. Since we can simply install every ota update by downloading the new rom from external sites. Just a reminder: don't use the ota update app since it will brick or just not work, since your bootloader is unlocked.

don't forget to enable oem unlock (bootloader isn't unlocked yet after you do this)
then fast boot the phone with oukitel rom, unlock the bootloader with adb fast boot unlock
don't let go of the vol button while flashing the phone with multiport flash tools
don't use ulepfhone original cable, mine was not working ok although there was no visual damage to the cable. I used another one that fit the usb port on the phone more firmly

Lenovo vibe k5 plus aosp oreo does not enter fastboot, no oem, no twrp, no root.

Hello, believe me i have search, i have a lenovo vibe k5 plus a 6020l37, which oiginally came with 5.0, i nstalled lineage OS 6.0, then several custom roms with android 7, and then installed oreo with aosp rom (all with minimal adb), everythng works, but the battery last only a few hours, so i decided to keep tryin other roms, but, it turns out i no longer have twrp, no root, if i try to boot in fastboot/bootloader it just gets stuck in the lenovo logo, if i go to developers options i have no unlock oem option, not even in gray, it just doesnt show, even if i wait 2 weeks, kingroot or any app won´t get me root access, when i have the phone plugged into the cpu, adb recognizes it (with the phone turned on) i tried copying an img to the sd, but the phone gives me several errors i try to factory reset and after it ask for the pin, i tap the "erase all" button but does nothing, in recovery mode i wipe data cache, and partition, but it gives me errors like
E:/failed to mount /cache/recovery/last locale
couldn´t mount sd card
instalation aborted
E:/unknown fs_type "f2fs" for Cache
And many similar ones.
The lenovo moto smart assistan recognizes it, i go to rescue, download de image to flash it, and it gets stuck on 67% everytime, i tried qfill, but i cannot seem to get it recognize the port (the device) and two other apps like that, is there any known path to solve this? i appeciate the help, thank you so much.

Stuck in Mi Recovery 3.0 with a stock device

Hello,
This morning I turned off and on my phone (RN5 Global).
Now, If I try to start it, phone goes directly to Mi-Recovery 3.0 and, no matter how hard you try to restart, it always ends there.
More info:
- The phone is completely from stock. No root, no bootloader unlock, nothing.
- Mi-Recovery only let me Wipe All Data, so this would be an unfeasible option without first having recovered the data.
- My PC Suite does not recognize the phone.
- If I connect the mobile to the pc, 'adb devices' command says "sideload".
- If I try to make a backup by 'adb shell' it says "error: closed".
- I do not know if 'debug usb' is activated. I remember i activated it in the past, but I think that MIUI10 update deactivated it again.
- I can enter fastboot mode.
- I tried to open the phone, disconnect and connect the battery, but nothing has been fixed.
What can I do? My priorities now are:
1.- Recover the data (at least photos).
2.- Revive my phone.
Thank you.
Found this on MIUI, what do you think?

If your device is Redmi Note 5 from other country but India then it´s Whyred and this Forum is for Redmi 5 Plus/Redmi Note 5 (only India) that is Vince.
In the case I´m right and your device is Whyred (two rear cameras is a simple way to note it) then as far as I know you will need an EDL authorized account to flash a rom through MiFlash Tool.
Other tool that you can use is XiaomiFlash Tool by Francesco Tescari through Mi-Recovery but you will need too have enable USB debugging (maybe you have) but the same way you can flash a rom also you´ll lose all your data.
Adb shell works only in rooted devices, you can´t backup nothing in this state and fastboot mode is limited to just few commands like list device/reboot devices and nothing more in locked bootloaders.
In this scenario you have two things in order to solve this issue:
1- Highly probable loosing all your data.
- Doing format data through recovery and try to boot (data lost for sure)
- Flashing a rom through recovery with the mentioned tool (99% data lost probabilities)
- Flashing a rom through EDL; if you have Vince you can do it but if you have Whyred I don´t think so (if you choose second option "Flash without erase userdata" in MiFlash Tool I guess your data will be preserved)
2- If you enabled before USB debugging and binded your Mi account with device wait the time to unlock bootloader and maybe booting first of all in TWRP you can recover some data from your device, if you unlocked but first of all you boot on system for sure all your data will gone.
So what happened? Were you able to solve it? PLs share if you were...
I am also faced that situation.
When i tried to flash stock miui through fastboot it locked the bootloader and cant boot into rom then mi flash tool cant flash as boot loader is locked.
Worst part is in order flash another rom i need recovery, unable to reach developers option as rom not booting up.
Lost hope on the device
After all so many google searches and sleep less nights
I found application called mi pc suite china
Try to flash miui rom through mi pc suite mode
It says boot loader locked do you want to unlock
Finally it unlocked boot loader without booting into mobile.
In your case that will app will work. try it

Open the Mi App Then Click the update button which shows upon opening
Phone automatically came back to normal (No loss in Data) and Remove Cable. Don’t Flash Data.

Mi app recovery will not work on older phones like vince i suggest flashing through test point by removing the back cover and reconnect both points

I was stuck in Mi Recovery Mode 3.0 on my Mi Redmi Note 5.
Even after doing reboot to system, it wasn't going back to normal.
After scratching my head for a lot of time I decided to do the old school thing, i.e. REMOVING the SIM card and SD card and pressing the VOLUME DOWN + POWER KEY until the vibration occurred (NOTE: Mi logo will appear while you have pressed but keep the 2 buttons pressed until vibration occurred).

were any files deleted? and do you perhaps know if it would work on redmi note 7?
hello guys just look this video i solved it
Hi all,.
I also faced the same issue my redmi note 5 Pro which was on I believe MIUI 10 because it was never updated from the day it was purchased got stuck in bootloop and not getting ahead after recovery mode no matter how much time you reboot it was all working fine but some apps were updating such as youtube when this incident occurred I tried every solution like pressing keys pressing all three keys simultaneously or ADB method but none could work since the phone was locked also there was no USB debugging so adb method wouldn't work to also if an if ADB connected I couldn't flash because it will remove the data, in recovery mod you can see in option connect with MI Assistant but the Indian English version shown no connection so found one youtube video (channel name -" Ach Sharif ", video link-
which helped to install chinese version and and solved login issues I used Google translate translate to read the Chinese characters and understand what is going on I connected the device intending to take a backup backup but as no option was available I had to click on flash device so it downloaded upgraded recovery rom and automatically flash to MIUI 11 but still same problem then again I connected and upgraded to MIUI 12 and the phone was able to boot so the phone finally got fixed all data and all apps were intact and working as originally also all data of WhatsApp chats etc remained even the open apps at the time when problem happened were still present.
I believe guys this is the only solution to the problem because while flashing it replaces the recovery module of the rom which was corrupted earlier in my case when MIUi 12 installed not 11 I feel that it replaced recovery module due to update and it was able to work so please try once and I hope you get your files back, now lesson learned please do regular backups to live worry free life otherwise we will be spending time and energy here only.
I believe ADB methods or other methods won't work because they will flash and you won't be able to get data only flashing through recovery ROM not fastboot rom just like update package will be able to solve your problem if it is a software problem it will be can be fixed fixed this way only and saving data if it's a hardware problem such as power of all volume buttons are stucked you just get change and everything will be fine it happened in my other phone redmi Y2 so from speaking from experience thats all as I was going through trouble these things really help me so I thought to spend time in creating this guide please follow and I hope it will be solved.
You must open back cover( easily you can do it by hair dryer) and disconnect and connect again the battery, it will fix

Mi a3 hard brick, Screen Black, Haven't opened the backside of my phone yet.

Hi, I beg your help. Well what happened is,
I was on CORVUS OS, then I thought of rolling back to stock rom. So after flashing "laurel_sprout_global_images_V12.0.21.0.RFQMIXM_11.0" using Mi Flash tool (clean and unlock), My phone said to me "This device has been destroyed". So I thought I might have flashed a wrong version. So I again flashed "Xiaomi_Mi_A3_V10.3.4.0.PFQMIXM_20190815.0000.00_Global_9.0_XFT" using Mi flash tool. But this time, android one logo showed up and did'nt proceed. Luckily I could access to fastboot mode. But after doing this flashing few more times, My phone blacked out completely. Things I have done so far:
1. Tried flashing again using Mi flash tool. The device manager says that the "QDloader 9008" is connected properly, but the flash tool is saying "cannot receive hello packet" and eventually fails the proccess.
2. Tried volume button and plugin combination. Nothing happened.
3. Download QFIL software. But it's not detecting any device.
4. Tried switching USB port
Please save me. I am going through a disaster. and it's my primary driver T_T
try to disconnect the battery, and plug usb
Try flashing using Paltform-Tools instead of Mi Flash Tool. See https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/slot-a-is-destroyed.4399965/ for links to instructions.
Do not take the back off your phone. Seriously, shell out the ten bucks for the deep flash cable. You need to get to EDL. Here are a couple of methods, depending on what you want:
Repackaged A11 stock here: https://c.mi.com/thread-3527044-1-0.html
CC9e Conversion here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/miui-12-port-10-miui-12-for-mi-a3-stable-weekly-rom.4016457/
Note: If you want to use QFIL, make sure you're using the latest version with QPST. Save yourself the time and install it system wide. https://qpsttool.com/qpst-tool-v2-7-104
