[Kernel][A6020][PBH][8.x] - Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & O

Hi guys, you probably know me from the PBH Interactive Governor Tweaks Thread. Yeah, This is a migration from Mere Tweaks to A full-fledged Kernel based on the stable source By @Harry8242.
I am not an excellent kernel developer, a mere beginner trying to learn, so hope you guys support me the way PBH was embraced:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
Features:
-Latest Linux Upstream v3.10.108
-Up to date with the latest CAF tag -LA.BR.1.2.9.1-01310-8x16.0
-Darkness Governor
- Mild Undervolt
-Westwood as the default TCP algorithm
- Idle Drain is reduced to Absolute Minimum
-Several subsystems converted to use power-efficient work queues
- KCAL colour control -- Colours are tweaked to make the screen look more vibrant
- Remove 960 Mhz Frequency and introduce 1036 Mhz Frequency(They both operate at the same voltage, so the higher the better)
-Unlock 1136 Mhz for the "LITTLE cluster' for sd415 variant:angel::angel::angel::angel::angel: :laugh::laugh:
-Flashed with AnyKernel2 (thanks to @osm0sis)
-More features to come. It's pretty barebone as of now

I am always looking forward to constructive feedback and suggestions. All your suggestions would be read and required ones would definitely be implemented. Keep supporting.

Happy to see pbh kernel:laugh:

Thanks ?

Great work bro.. Keep it up:good::good:

Just installed it on AEX 5.4....working flawlessly as of now....no issues encountered till now...thank you dev. One question though should i use pbh mod with this or no need?

Good job bro keep it up .. Finally you made it public ...:good:

The interactive governor is tweaked again for balance usage. I would rather suggest try comparing which (Stock/pbh mod) gives more battery backup for you. For me its almost same.

Hi! Then, what's your recommendation? Only PBH kernel or kernel + mod? Thanks for your work!

Based on the usage scenario I have, the pbh kernel only should be enough. If you think its different for you, try experimenting with mod..

Yes!I think the kernel itself is giving good battery backup than using it with mod

With pbh and aex 5.4 I use my k5 plus for 2 days When I return home I will try your kernel!

Sorry I misjudged it initially.Actually using kernel +mod gives more battery backup:angel:

Lo estoy probando y va muy bien lo noto mas rápido el móvil .sigue mejorándolo .un saludo:laugh:

Battery saviour is finally here. Thank you @Nikish21 for your great works. I firmly believe that you will soon develop custom ROMs too.

Apologies for the delay guys. A new update with some features I feel necessary for a balanced experience is coming in next few days. The delay is due to some experimental testing for sd415 variant,

SD 616 3GB A46
In Darkness Gov upto 1.5Ghz cluster, almost stay in minimum freq.
Still wait next update

can you briefly explain the darkness governer and how to use PBH along with it (since it was for interactive governer) ?
Superb work creating a power - efficient kernel. Will always support your work.

Darkness has its own parameters or values, You don't need to use pbh interactive values for darkness. I am trying to add few other alternative Governors so that it fits all of my users scenario.
This support really motivates me to work harder for you guys. Keep supporting

[KERNEL][N5100][4.2.2 JB][XXCMK1] MoleculeKernel [OC/UV] [09/Feb/04]

MoleculeKernel v0.1 - 09 Feb 2014
NOTE:
I am not a developer, just a modder and an Android enthusiast.
I create/mod/build ROMs and kernels for myself, and want to share with XDA members.
I don't want anyting in return, my work might not fit your needs.
Thanks.
FEATURES:
Compatible with N5100 and N5105
Based on N5100XXCMK1 - Samsung's latest open source kernel
Only compatible with 4.2.2 Samsung ROMs
Extra governors (pegasusq, SmartassH3, zzmoove, lulzactiveq, adaptive, interactive, conservative, ondemand, userspace, powersave, performance)
Extra schedulers (cfq, noop, deadline, row, vr, sio)
Undervolting support
Overclocking support CPU up to 1.9 Ghz
GPU frequency: 533 Mhz
Memory leak fix
Archpower support
TriangleAway 2.90 support
This kernel made from Samsung's latest open source kernel so it includes latest fixes from Samsung.
NOTES:
I tried make kernel stable as possible, so I didn't add much changes to Samsung's code.
I didn't add shell scripts or init.d fixes to ZIP, to make it light and stable.
Most of code from civato, andreilux and other devs. Thanks to all of them.
Kernel is NOT overclocked by default. But minimum CPU freq. reduced to 100 mhz (stock kernel=200 mhz) (when your tablet does not require much processing power, this will improve battery life.)
Source code is available: http://github.com/whitemolecule
TOOL TO CONFIGURE THIS KERNEL
I recommend Trickster MOD = https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bigeyes0x0.trickstermod

TricksterMod->Specific->GPU Frequency Settings -> Step4. I can see frequencies from 200 to 700 there.
@op, do you have your sources per chance?
Any chance to get this Kernel for CM11 ?, just curious. And excellent work BTW.

Yes u can see it, but after setting step4 to 600 it skips back to 533... (for me...)
Still testing, but everythings seems working, good thing to have a custom kernel, stay tuned :good:
It is all right that kernel, congratulations.
I would like to include it in the next my update ROM rebel note8 much
How to install this kernel? I use stock rom, stock kernel, and stock recovery
Thanks

does this kernel support uinput and tincore keymapper?
Thank's
Thank's for this great job.
I get your kernel source and make some changes, can you include in next versions?
I enabled samsung docks:
CONFIG_MUIC_MAX77693_SUPPORT_OTG_AUDIO_DOCK=y
CONFIG_MUIC_MAX77693_SUPPORT_SMART_DOCK=y
CONFIG_MUIC_MAX77693_SUPPORT_CAR_DOCK=y
With this I can use OTG and charge at the same time, as some people does with s3 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/hw-mod-usb-otg-charging-galaxy-s3-t1953061 ), same resistor values.
I also enabled support for some usb serial adapters and some usb network adapters.
See ya, and again, thank's

Is it possible for you to add Fauxsound sound control to the kernel in a future release?

I don't think that's the greatest idea as faux sound is notorious for being buggy/breaking **** when not implemented properly.
An alternative would be boeffla sound or something, I'll look for an alternative and contribute it to this project.
@stefx98 as @_LLJY said I will explore other options
Ok, keep up your good work
Hi!
Thanks for your work. So this kernel is based on 3.4, right? and it's only for Lineage OS?
Thanks!

Fauxsound is dead since Marshmallow, it is now deprecated, and should not be used.
I read about it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=65346831
It says that fauxsound is bad for the kernel.

This is nice - Well done panzerox!
Don't know if its easy to implement but UV (under volting...) would be nice as well...
Otherwise I'm with you... Some Govs, some I/Os, OC CPU/GPU and done...
But take this as an future suggestion. I'm still not using LOS so I have no vote here actually

QC2.0 is under testing right now . I do not have a QC charger so I have to rely on other's testing.
Yes. Ive tried applying the patches .... Spent 8 hours trying to do it and I got tonnes and tonnes of errors . Ill try again some other time.
Custom kernel for LOS, nice one :victory:
As for new features, from top of my head:
1. Intelliplug hotplug (MPdecision is terrible)
2. GPU lowest freq 27mhz
3. Adreno idler (I saw you mentioned it already)
4. Simple GPU algorithm (by faux if I recall correctly)
Those GPU features should help to improve battery life, as I think the Simple GPU algorithm keeps GPU freq at lowest (27mhz if included) while using the phone, as opposed to 200mhz which is the behavior ATM.
I can't test the kernel sadly since top of my touch has stopped working (was unglued before - f*cking Sony) and I'm in process of selling it, I might go with another Z3C again, however I'm leaning towards Z3, anyway this suggestions should further improve the kernel.
Cheers

1. Sure
2. I have just changed lowest to 100mhz rather than 27mhz ... Just to suppress the lag. Ofcourse it can be changed
3. I actually have mentioned that I won't be adding adreno idler. Took me several tries to get compile with it... And when I did, it didn't work properly . :silly:
4. Yup. That's a good suggestion ... Though I'm not sure, I might have added it already. The feature list is what I remember adding. You can look at my GitHub for all the features.
That's sad. I had the same issue and got it replaced under warranty . My battery has actually weakened drastically. So I have upgraded my device and given the z3c to my brother (getting battery replaced soon). So the z3c is my main Dev device for now
I hope you can get it fixed

IMHO,
Closed source SuperSu (since v2.76* approximately. was the last by the real, Chainfire after he sold it to CodingCode, who nobody knows) is both a privacy and security concern: SuperSu now belongs to CodingCode which is a subsidiary to a large global telecommunications company, JJWorld Network Technology Co., LTD. Beijing China. I don't trust it and why the secrecy. This is the reason behind the sudden rise of both opensourced: Pierre-Hugues SuperUser and TopJohnWu's Magisk Manager. (Both rapidly playing catch up)
I would never give administrative rights to an authority I do not know, use at your own risk.
[emoji7]
*Some v2.76 stable were being supplied by Chinese website's even before Chainfire had officially released his v2.76, due to a communication error and without his knowledge, and had contained a bug that v2.76 was designed to fix.

This kernel is more faster than artx and light kernels, I am of those who cannot see a little lag because that bothers me and this kernel keeps my device smooth...
I didn't tested it on stock and I don't think that it will work, anyway, I can try to build custom stock kernel but I think that it's too late now for build to marshmallow

Keep your time. You don't have to push an update all days. Let the users use it for a while and then report. One day with this kernel and report it is nothing. The system need time to get one with the kernel settings
G3X is pretty much beta. ArtX is not beta (IMO). If you want a more stable kernel use ArtX until this one gets all the kinks worked out.

I think I should also mention that I'm using RR 5.8.3 rom for F400 variant by oadam11, which is also have performance governor by default on its default kernel. Maybe there are something related.
Anyway, take your time, and thank you for your hard work.
EDIT: However, I've tried artxlight 2.1 but its governor wasn't set to performance by default. It was zzmoove.
Hi I have a little problem. When I flash through TWRP I get unsupported device and error 1. My device is d852.

Velocity Kernel (3.10.108) v3.0 for M and N ROMs

After a lot of testing and hours of hard-work, I have developed a Kernel based on the Latest Sources. As the name of the Kernel suggests, the primary focus of the Kernel is Speed and Performance. As a result, I have fine-tuned and optimized this Kernel to Perform in the best possible manner. However, I haven't missed to look into the Battery issues of the phone. A lot of effort has been made to Fix unnecessary Consumption of Battery along with regulated CPU usage. Further, I have worked really hard to include almost all Features and Fixes so as to make my Kernel the most feature-packed All-in-One solution.
Main Features---
Display---
Support for kCAL Colour Control v2.0 (enhances Colour Vibrance and Intensity). (available as a Screen TAB in Kernel Adiutor).
Support for Governors---
Interactive
OnDemand
Performance
Support for I/O Schedulers---
BFQ v7r8 with Hierarchical Scheduling
NOOP
CPU---
Support for Power Efficient WorkQueue to reduce Power-Consumption (available in CPU tab of Kernel Adiutor).
GPU---
Support for ADRENO-IDLER algorithm (saves a lot of Battery by reducing GPU Frequency to minimum when there is less load).
Memory---
Support for Swap, FrontSwap, and zSwap Techniques (improve Performance significantly when zRAM is Full).
Support for CleanCache Driver (improves I/O Performance).
Support for zsmAlloc with Page-Table Mapping Technique (improves Memory Performance).
Support for zRAM with LZ4 compression algorithm (improves performance by saving memory).
Sound---
Support for Faux Sound Control (Modified by ME).
Support for 4 Gains---Headphones, Speaker, Microphone and Video Recording Microphone.
Provides ability to Increase or Decrease Volume beyond Default Limits.
Support for Controlling Volumes separately for left and right Headphones.
Note---
As of now, only Headphones Gain and Mic Gain works. You can't use this to Increase the Speaker Volume.
Optimizations and Tweaks---
Based on the Latest Sources available for Lenovo Vibe P1.
Disabled CRC-Check for upto 30% Faster I/O Performance.
Compiled with UberTC 4.9.4 Optimized for 64-BIT (Uber uses the latest of every component as well as increases the Battery-Life too).
Disabled Debug-Info (should reduce the size of the kernel making it lighter).
Notes---
1. This Kernel only works on Official Stock ROM (Marshmallow) and Nougat Custom ROMs.
Installation Instructions---
1. Before Flashing this Kernel, Download Universal init.d App from Play Store and after Granting Root Permission to the App, Enable Emulation option and Exit the App.
2. To Download the Kernel, head over to the ChangeLogs and Downloads post and select the Version of Kernel you want.

Velocity Kernel is now available for Lenovo Vibe P1 !!!
Changelog (v1.0)---
1. All the Features Supported which are mentioned in the First Post.
2. Tons of Optimizations and Improvements to the Default Configuration of the Kernel.
3. A Lot of Unnecessary Drivers have been Removed from the Kernel to make it Clutter-Free (reduces the Size of Kernel and makes it Lighter).
4. A Few Fixes to the Source Code of Lenovo Vibe P1.
5. The Kernel Boots with a Default Set of Optimal Settings (Vibrant Display Settings, Efficient CPU-Settings, etc.).
Notes---
1. I Don't own this Device but my Brother does. Since he was with me for a week, I decided to Build him a Kernel. That's why, I am sharing this Kernel here. The Kernel is Tested to be Stable and works Fine on Nougat Based Custom ROMs.
2. My Primary Devices are Yu Yureka Plus and Yu Yureka Black. I have Developed Kernels and A Few MODs for all Yu-Devices in Yu-Forums and that's where I remain Active.
3. In this Version, I haven't included many Advanced Features (that I have Built for Yu-Devices) because I didn't have the time to Test them on this Device as my Brother went back to his place. So, if you people want Advanced Features such as OverClock, Improvements to Tasks-Scheduling, a Better Thermal System, etc., then you people will need to Test my Builds and Report. If I could find Reliable Testers here, then I'll surely bring many of my Advanced Features here.
Notice---
Before Flashing this Kernel, do READ the Instructions Given in the First Post!

This Kernel is Based on Stock Source. So, if it was working on Stock Kernel, then it will work in this too.

In Kernel Adiutor's Sound TAB, you'll see 4 Gains. Out of them, currently, only three work, Headphones, Mic and CamCorder. So, if you want your Mic to record your voice while Calling at a higher volume, you can increase the Mic Gain. Similarly, you can increase the Gain of the Ear-Piece (to listen while calling, the other person's voice at a higher volume) and Headphones (to listen to music at a higher volume).

Yes, I would like to. I didn't introduce it in this version because I didn't have the Device to test.
So, if you and a few other people are willing to test, then I'll introduce a Few Advanced Features gradually.

It works perfectly fine here, probably there is something in your device which is preventing deep sleep. Do a clean flash and then flash Velocity Kernel It may resolve u r issue

[Kernel] [LineageOS_15.1] [KLTE] OreKazu-Kernel Project [BETA]

Welcome to OreKazu-Kernel Project
My main objective for this kernel project is to somewhat keep it simple but include a few features that I find useful , it won't be bloated with all the features out there.
I decided to share this kernel (at first it was a personal project ) with the great S5 community. Im a noob at this so don't expect much (lol) , as far as I know this kernel was complied under KLTE but my variant is a KLTEVZW , so my guess any other variant that can run KLTE kernels this should work as well.
OreKazu-Kernel is still in beta stages but it still works very well.
* Features of this Kernel*
- 268mhz CPU
- Smartmax eps CPU Gov
- CPU Boost
- Input Boost
- CPU Voltage Control
- Mako Hotplug
- GPU Overclocked to 600mhz ( since LOS15.1 still has a power drain issue higher gpu freq will def drain even more , keep that in mind )
- GPU Overclocked to 657mhz
- GPU UnderClocked to 27mhz
- Adreno Idler
- Kcal
- USB Fast Charge
- Kernel Samepage Merging
- LMK (soon switching to @fbs 's version)
- Few TCP Congestion Algorithm
- and maybe other features to come..

OreKazu-Kernel v1.6 Released
check the OP for download link (updated as always)
Check reserved for changes made to the kernel.
Enjoy!!
Update
V2.0 is now out .
Kernel as been started back off from the ground ( :crying: ) up due to some issues i faced , heck it might start off from scratch again but that time it would be due a switch to a different ( new laptop) workstation.
-sound control was removed due to instabilities from initial Lin15-1 so adding sound control only made it worst ( in my experience)
-a few other stuff are not added back yet but a few thing were added.
- since this is not stable/official release i won't bore you with the details , as always same download link from OP is updated to current release.
OreKazu-Kernel-Rebased_v1.0
This is just a re-base launch ( yep started from scratch again lol ) but decided to switch it up a little .
Pretty much the same features with some new added ones that were not in the original Orekazu-Kernel.
Latest Lin15-1 kernel commits as of today.
Also added another gpu gov , and i dont remember if the other Orekazu-Kernel had the added cpu frequencies.
Download link in OP.
Enjoy!!
WireGuard
Hi, what about WireGuard support? Is included in this kernel? Or will be?
Thanks

I will look into it , ive never heard of wire guard b4 , but it is an interesting feature. Can't say for sure that it will work unless you know of another samsung kernel that already had the support in it ( that would be much helpful ) , but i will take a crack at it and see if it will work and not cause a loss in anyway.:highfive:

It will be difficult to include Wireguard support to any klte kernel atm as it is only available and intended to work on Linux Kernel versions 3.10.y and above.

3.10.x kernels and up? , then sadly it wont be able to be supported.
i guess the only option is if Lineage can support it unless it depends on the kernel aspect as well ,if so then thats a no-go for WireGuard.:crying:
Hi.. Awesome kernel.. Btw i manage to port it on hlte with lineage defconfig... I got many features but some are missing and may not work properly because u're using MSM8974PRO.. Can u support MSM8974 too?? Thanx.. Im new in this kind of things btw..

Not sure , since my setup is limited and manually applying the commit for hlte might be a a troublesome task , but none the less i'll give it a shot .

as @kenedielh stated , it will overtime burn(sort of speak)out your device, kill the cpu at one point , also to avoid even more battery drain as Lineage has not fully fix battery drain plus the gpu is at 657mhz compared to stock 578mhz max , also due to past experience testing 3.0ghz its very unstable so keeping max at 2.4ghz is the best course of action in this kernel's case. For example when i was testing Venom Kernel my max cpu freq was always set at 15xxmhz and nothing more and gpu at 657mhz max and between a 100-105 - undervolt ( silicon lottery , your mileage may vary ) .
Also since this is just beta thread im just compiling , testing and sharing builds here , Stable release when ready and very stable/smooth/and power efficient even for gamers like myself , it will be in the Unified section and this beta project will be deleted , think of this as a rough-draft for the main thing to come.( hopefully)

You need to update your lineage to @haggertk's ( taking this opportunity to thank @haggertk ) latest build , i doubt my kernel will work on an old build of lineage since many changes have been made on both kernel and rom sides.
Yours: Kernel date : december 2017
Rom : december 2017
Heres the latest klte build : https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673956719939820275 " download and flash it then flash OreKazu-Kernel-Rebased right after "
that what everyone else is using if running this kernel , both have to be up to date.
