Windows 8 CP + ADB?

Hey I installed windows 8 customer preview the other day and I'm trying to figure out how to get adb to work on it. I'm still trying different methods but if anyone else has gotten it working, please let new know. Thanks!
EDIT: Let me just say I finally got it fixed up! Since I had installed Windows 8 CP x64, I had to google for the HTC drivers in 64 bit. Eventually I had to update the device driver in "Device Manager" on my PC and locate the drivers on my hard drive for the 64 bit, that finally got it set up, and now I can flash as I did before on Win7
If anyone else has any issues, I'll be sure to type out a better guide to help!

Hi, I am struggling getting this set up, I am not a noob, but just cant get this going. Is there any way you could post a new topic with step by step directions and link? I think as time goes on, more and more people will need this guide. Thanks in advance!
You have to Disable Driver Signature Enforcement - guide is here:

Thanks for the tip - got fastboot working on Windows 8 64 bit by disabling the 'Driver Signature Enforcement' at bootup, then force-installing the Samsung ADB driver with my phone connected and in fastboot mode.
Even though my phone is a Sony Arc, the Samsung ADB driver still works, and I've just used fastboot to flash my phone from Windows 8

[Q] Problem installing KIES on Win7 64bit

Anybody successfully install the latest KIES on their Win7 64 bit machine?
I saw another thread 2 years ago, but it has no solution to it...
Does anybody have a workaround or a way to get it install?
Mine failed when it try to register nkwab.dll, i think it was trying to use the 32bit regsrv32.exe to register the 64bit stuff... but can't really force the installer to do anything...
Tried to update to the latest 64bit java.
Tried to clean the registry.
Tried an older version of KIES.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Which version are you tying to Install ?
I have Successfully Installed Samsung Kies v2.5.3.13052_10 (on Win8 64bit & Win7 64bit) without any problem.
I think the Latest version is 2.60.13064_2
Not tried that one yet
Uninstall your Current version of Java & Kies
Reboot your System
Just download and Install Latest version of Java
Java 7 Update 25 (64bit) from LINK
Then Reboot your system
And then Download Latest Version Of Kies From LINK
And Install it..
Thats all...

I was trying the latest version on Samsung website.
But anyhow, F that $hit. I tried everything. I end up just installing the Samsung driver package myself, then hook it up with Odin. Kies is a total fail. Wasted me a day on it.
This is what I've tried and done before:
Uninstall and install Kies
Uninstall and install Java (64 bit)
Ran CCleaner
Reboot, and deleted the Samsung folder
Ran CCleaner again
Tried a couple of different version of Kies
Bottomline, Kies doesn't work with 64bits Windows 7, judging by the error message, Kies was trying to run the 32bit regsvr32.exe to register some dll, but it should've ran the 64bit version of regsvr32.exe under Windows/system instead.
I got my stuff working now, go here:
http://www.modaco.com/topic/361286-...or-mobile-phones-15270-win-87xp-adb-fastboot/
Get the driver pack (you may want to google the latest driver pack instead)
Install the driver pack
Run Odin
:good:
That's a bit jumping to conclusions ? Just because it doesent work on your pc - you simply call that Kies doesent work on Win7x64 ? That's weird because i have it installed - and never had any issues with it ?

I had an older version of Kies Mini installed before for my old phone that worked too, and that was 2 years ago. But the new one doesn't work, in fact if you google it, tons of people are having issues with Windows 7 and 64 bit, and yet Samsung doesn't do anything to fix it. Is not my PC's issue because Kies installer was trying to register its dll and failed. The error message was saying that the application (Kies) was performing wrong operation. Like i explained before, I suspect Kies installer is calling the wrong command to register its dll.
Anyhow, Kies is not needed now. I never liked Kies anyway, especially the new one, it looks like iTune...
I don't have any problems with Kies and Win 7 64 bit as well. Currently running 2.60.13064_2 version.
In fact I have Kies installed on my PC December last year without any issues. It is weird that some of people do have installation or stability problems with it when others don't. It's gotta be something not 100% kosher with the application.
Use of Kies on XDA should receive a lifetime ban .

Flashtool and Windows 10 v1607

Hello, I have used flashtool successfully with windows 10, but yesterday windows updated to v1607. Flashtool loads and finds ROMs etc but once I select Xperia Z2 for example nothing appears.
I suspect that I might need to install drivers but nothing works.
Can anybody help me?
Try restart Windows 10 with Disable Driver Signature Enforcement from advance startup and install the drivers from there, and reboot to normal usage, this should fix this problem.
