[Q] Screen only recognizes holding touch for 5 seconds exactly. - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

In my samsung galaxy tab i can hold buttons for only 4 to 5 seconds and then it stops recognizing the touch of my finger. So i cant use for example the quick voice recording green button on whatsapp. It allways stops at 5 seconds.
Its a very old samsung and i dropped it many times. Maybe is something broken but isnt it strange that it allways allows me exactly 5 seconds of touch-hold?
Any ideas?
Thanks

Galaxy Tab Frozen, Camera LED Keeps Blinking

Hi,
I got a galaxy tab 10.1, wifi only version there a few Weeks back. First thing I did was update to 3.2.
It had been going fine until this morning, I was browsing the internet on dolphin hd and the screen went black, the tab looks to have frozen. I've tried holding power button, and power + volume down button with no luck.
The weird thing is every time I hold the power button down the camera led starts flashing every second or 2 as if it was taking pictures. Other than that there's no response at all from it. The camera led also blinks when it it plugged in so I've plugged it into my ps3 to keep the led blinking until the tab runs out of battery in the hope that it'll start up fine again afterwards. Anyone else have any idea what to do?
Anybody seen this before? Or have an idea of how long this will take to run out of battery even?
It randomly came on there now. I had it plugged in for a while then the screen came up that it was charging, then I turned it on with the power button and the samsung logo etc all came up, then went black. it's off again now. no response at all from the tab now, no camera flashes or anything
Im having this same issue, have you found a solution to this yet? Worked fine last night left it charging all night now i just get the camera led flashing every 2 second when i press the power button

[Q] Home button randomly activates torch?

Running 3 mobiles SII with Foxhound sniper wolf and Siyah kernel 3.2.6.3
Occasionally when I go to unlock my phone with the home button, the torch turns on instead and the screen remains unresponsive. The torch stays on for as long as I hold the button down for, and after a period of responding like this for 10 or so seconds the home button does what it should do again. Using the side lock button gets it out of this most of the time. Any have any ideas why this might be happening ?
TIA

xperia s touch screen problem

After receiving a phone call, which lasted around 5 minutes. I hung up the phone and then through the speaker there was a loud crackling sound. I then noticed the 3 illuminated touch screen buttons started to flicker. Eventually the touch screen stopped working. Only the hard buttons work, the unit has switched on/off numerous times and I have also tried a hard reset by holding the power and + buttons until it vibrates 3 times.
Nothing is happening.
I don't want to lose my data, I need a way to back it up.
Could somebody please help?????

[Q] Black screen, touch-responsive, vibrates but does not display anything...

I'm having a really strange issue with my gear fit:
1. Screen is black
2. Screen responds to touch(!) - I unpair the device and pair it again, when i press the left(top) part of the screen (confirmation button) it stops vibrating...
3. I am able to turn it off and on but the screen is still black (Samsung logo does not appear)
4. Bluetooth works fine
5. Kies3 also recognizes the device
6. It happened randomly a few times - the screen turned on and was responsive to touch but when i try to do anything it freezes and goes black again. I noticed that I can even change the wallpaper and clock through the Gear Fit Manager. I thought that it could be just the screen issue but I've never dropped it and as I mentioned - it responds to touch.
This problem appeared out of nowhere - I've left the watch (turned off) for a month on my desk, the battery was at 40% today, tried to turn it on and...
Due to the screen failure I cannot put it in the download/recovery mode. Is there a way to do it with screen off?
I know it's stating the obvious but have you done a full reset on it? (Hold the button down, a good 8 seconds, until it forces it to reboot)

Click to collapse
Just my 2 cents,I had to hold it down more like 20 seconds, way more than seems logical.
From my Galaxy Note 2
Has there been an answer to this because I've been having the same issue with mine for about 4 months. As stated before, it turns on but screen stays blank but I know it's working because it vibrates after I turn it on. Mine is a international one.
possibly a screen defekt? was the same thing with my when i rip it apart

Screen input delay after moving away from face

Ok, so lately I've noticed when I've had to call a few numbers that need me to Press 1, 2, 3 etc on the dialpad that I can't do it right away. When I put the phone to my ear, as I would expect the screen switches itself off. When I pull the phone away from my face the screen comes on again immediately, but there's about a 5-7 second delay before I can actually press anything. In those seconds after the screen comes on, it wont accept any touch input whatsoever. It's not delayed, presses I make during those seconds just aren't registered at all, then suddenly it begins accepting input as normal. It isn't just number keys either, it's the entire screen, so I can't press End Call until nearly 10 seconds after I've actually pulled the phone away from my face, nor can I move the phone away and press the Speaker Phone button quickly.
This only happens when the screen comes on after being against my face though. If the screen is just turned off and I press the power button, or double tap to wake, it accepts input immediately, so I don't believe it's a hardware problem.
Currently running 4.4.4 rooted, image was made from stock and pre-rooted prior to being flashed onto the phone.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
yeah i've experienced this as well. doesn't happen on speaker though.
No, doesn't happen on speaker phone. If the screen goes off from that and I turn it back on then the screen responds immediately. It only seems to happen in cases where the screen auto shuts off due to it detecting that it's against your face.
