T - Huawei MediaPad M5 Questions & Answers

Anyone know how to tether this device. I have the chinese LTE version and foxfi and the native hotspot broadcast something but i have no internet access. Does anyone know why? how to fix it? I am on the 29.99 unlimited data plan from att since the ipad 1. I had the tab s before and foxfi used to work great. now they both create a network i can connect to, but there is no internet access.

I know this is no consolation, but, tethering works fine with all the treble GSIs that I have tried. This is the reason I've been running phh's AOSP GSI for the last week.
Good luck with the stock ROM1

Tethering worked fine on the stock rom for me (Asia firmware).

Tethering is allowed.
(I signed up Black Friday and paid $78 for six months of talk/text and 10 GBs per month. Can't beat that - but now my six months is coming up and it's gonna be $30/mo if I pay six months in advance, or $25 if I pay for 12...plus taxes.)

Dude can you pm me the link for signing up for that deal. It's nuts. How is the reception?

The website is mintmobile.com
The deal I initially got ($75 plus fees for six months) was a Black Friday / holiday promotion. So you can't get that at the moment. There might be other deals available via eBay.
It's on T-Mo's network, coverage and speeds are generally the same as if you were on T-Mobile prepaid.

[Q] T Zones $5.99 and HTC Radar ?

Has anyone attempted using T zones with their Radar? Or have any other related info? Im waiting for my Radar to be delivered and plan on using my $5.99 Tzones data. Hope it works... I will update with my results in a few days.
Please do post an update when you have had a chance to test.
I also purchased the HTC Radar to test on the grandfathered $5 Preferred Internet plan. I'll post my results.
tmobile cancelled my tzone last year when i still had the tp2. i had a good run with tzone, over 3 years. lol
consider yourself lucky if tmobile hasn't discovered you yet.
Data still working after 2 days on the Radar with the $5 Preferred Internet.

I upgraded my second line and maintained unlimited on my primary line. As far as i know this is the only method to maintin unlmtd, otherwise yes you will be forced onto the new data tiered plans.
Picked mine up this morning as well. Phone is freaking beautiful in every way!

Tiered is fine by me. I expect that. I meant the share everything plan. Like unlimited talk and text with family shared data. My plan is cheaper paying 30 per phone for data then those ridiculous plans.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk HD
Yes $30 is a lot of money for 25 or 30 gigabytes, I mean thats a dollar a gig I pay. If I went tiered it would only be $15. a gig over the first 2 so I would only be paying $450 a month for data. Oh wait, $30, is cheaper than $450, never mind.

Its just cheaper on the base end of it for me too. Three phones only two have data. Unlimited text, 700 mins, 2 data plans and insurance with my employee disc is like 145 pretax. I'm looking at 180 for a shared everything plan.

They didn't make me go to the share everything plan but they did take away my unlimited data. That being said, I am only one of five people on my plan so I think we would have to switch the whole plan over to do that.

I was planning on paying in full later today to keep my Unlimited.
My coworker just got his and for those on unlimited wanting to keep it check out mrcellphoneunlocker.
I must say that the DNA is light, thin, and so far very fast. Beautiful screen. Looking to pick myself up one after the first of the year.

The ONLY way to keep unlimited data is to buy it off-contract for the full retail price. There is no other way. If you pay $200, you must change your contract.
With that being said, I picked mine up about an hour ago. First one to get it at the store; they were still inventorying it when I got there.

So if I already have a line that's unlimited and I buy this as a new line I couldn't swap this to the unlimited plan then down grade the new line to voice only?

[Q] When will the M8 get a discount?

I know when I bought my m7 back in August or so, I only paid $115 with a new, 2 year contract. But, If I remember correctly, some time before that they were super cheap with a new 2 year contract?
Does anyone know about how many months after launch these things usually happen?

Some private phone resellers or retailers have their own instore offers and promotions. But when I went to the Verizon Store to get the HTC Dot View case they had a Buy one M8 get one M8 free offer for 2 year extensions and new contracts, if I'm not mistaken,,,
Yeah, I saw that and I'm wishing AT&T had that as well. But, I only need it for one line. I'd be paying for a line that would never be used lol
Anyone else perturbed that AT&T still doesn't have a carrier discount yet?

I just got rid of my unlimited. Mobile share isn't bad. Especially since they throttle your data at 5 GB anyways. You can't tether or Hotspot (you can, but if they catch you they add a fee like they did with me) so I just switched. Paying less, although I have a data limit now it was a good deal. I never thought I would dump it

I have two lines with unlimited and is probably the only reason i have not switch. I honestly never even use 3GB of data since i am constantly on wifi. My data gets used for quick search when out and about and google maps directions. Thats pretty much it. Stream some gogole music when running. Not that much really.
I am considering on changing my family plan to shared since none of us really use that much. I have only went over 5GB one time because the wifi at work was down and i saw a netflix movie, also strange for me to do.
I will look into it. did you also jump to the NEXT program?

Anyone have luck adding the Gear S to your grandfathered UNLIMITED plan??

The corporate ATT store yesterday said it would cost upwards of $30 or so a month to add it to my plan. I don't have mobile share. Anyone get them to add it to your unlimited plan...and for how much?

I am waiting this out as well, I have a grandfathered data plan too.
I Went to at&t today and they were really busy, but i wanted to try on the watch and take a closer look at the nano sim slot.
I am thinking about buying it outright, and then swap the sim from my phone when I want to leave it at home. I know I will need an adapter for my phone's sim and it's may not be ideal, but it's better than paying a monthly fee.

I looked it up online and it looked like a good deal. One ad said $30 dollars another one said $50 with expanded data. I walked into their store and told the guy I'm coming from AT&T and wanted to save money. He said if I brought all my 3 lines to Metro and got the 4 GB LTE data plan I'd be paying $135 a month for their family plan. I said I'm getting 10 GB of data from AT&T with 2 smartphones and a Gear S for $135 after taxes. He didn't have anything to say to that so I thanked him and walked out.

I'm so tired of the T-Mobile fan club.
They've renamed "throttling" to "de-prioritizing" but are now applying the same speed caps as everyone else to some percentage of their biggest data users. At 133GB I'd say your days are numbered.

I agree with you. There's no doubt T-Mobile speeds can be fast. I know a guy who gets 64 mbps down on his T-Mobile One Plus One running Cyanogen. I must be getting a good deal with AT&T tho because nobody has enabled me to save money by switching yet. I could always go to Sprint and get my bill cut in half, but then I'd have to turn in all my phones and switch to CDMA which I don't want to do.

They give me 10 GB of rollover data with unlimited talk and text on 3 lines. All lines share the same data. I just checked and they don't offer the 10 GB plan anymore.
Being on any MVNO sucks if you roam internationally. They all also get de-prioritized over native traffic when the network is congested and in some cities (NYC, SFO) that's quite a bit of the time. Being on T-mobile or any of their MVNO's sucks because they have a lot of high frequency spectrum which makes indoor reception sketchy. T-mobile is a multi-billion dollar public company who's mission is to generate above industry financial returns to their shareholders. They aren't benevolent. So far they've proven they can move market share (they're still #4 BTW) by giving up profit/margin. The jury's still out until the latter starts to increase.
I am thankful to them though. I pay AT&T $70ish a month for three devices and 7GB of data and that includes the $10 a month for the Gear S I just bought from them for $149.
No wireless carrier is anyone's "friend." It's choosing between the best of a bad lot. Talking about pricing, service, and support on XDA is educational. Trying to pimp others toward a specific carrier not so much. Everyone here values different things.

That process got the best of my dyslexia, I guess it doesn't really matter which way ya do it right?
Damn I'm on metro pcs with four phones and two have hotspot for just 105.00 I was curious how much it would be to add a smart watch
