Honor 10 wi-fi calling - Honor 10 Questions & Answers

I know this phone supports wi-fi calling try I don't have the option in call settings.
My partner has the honor 9 and she does.
Were both on EE and my previous phone the S8 had it so I know my account has it enabled yet I don't see the option, am I missing something?

It's working without a problem.
You have to enable it under:
Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Cellular Network -> Wi-Fi Calling There is also the option to enable VoLTE.

Yes, I have WiFi calling with a second, spare, pre pay aim, but my main aim does not have the option listed, and I know the SIM is set up for it as it worked on my previous phone. I see no option for volte though on either. Shame.

It is so annoying this phone does NOT have wifi-calling. My son's Honor 10 Lite does!! But not this 'higher-specced' Honor 10. Really bad misfire for Huawei there. WiFi calling is such a useful feature. My other son's Samsung S8 even has it. And I had an Umidigi which had it. Come on Honor!?!?!?

My Honor 10 doesn't have the option for WiFi calling, i put it down to being a sim free phone, looking about, it seems it's only available of you have a handset with the carriers firmware on it?

How to activate WiFi Calling on Honor 8X

This may work for other phones but it certainly worked on my 8X.
I have WiFi calling activated on my Vodafone account in the UK. But the 8X isn't listed as a supported phone (some other Huawei phones are) and there was no WiFi calling setting.
You need to install Nova Launcher.
Load Nova and go to Widgets
Select Nova Activities
Scroll down to Settings
Select Settings and scroll down to WiFi Calling
There are two WiFi calling settings - I presume one is for each of the two SIM cards
Select one of them and either create a shortcut or just turn it on and leave it.
I did all steps, but still the WiFi calling not working in my Honor 8x. really disappointed. I just switched from iOS to Android because I need some more freedom in my phone and to use twin apps , but I'm living at a remote area where it difficult to find good network to call but the Wifi calling. my SIM card is supported WiFi call and it was working just fine with my old phone ( iPhone ).
please help me out with this issue.

A2017G Oreo Enhanced LTE Services Server Error

I have tried this new feature coming with the stock Oreo ROM and received a message from my mobile carrier initially, welcoming me to WiFi calling. All network settings seemed to be working fine, I was also browsing internet with no problems, all apps were connecting and responding as expected. However the first time I tried dialing one of my contacts I've got a message "Server error. Try again later." on the dialing screen itself. It looked like the call couldn't be connected. This happened to all outgoing calls, I suppose to all incoming also although I couldn't confirm that.
I tried many things like restarting the phone, turning data on and off, going into flight mode and disabling it, in the end I reset all network settings disabling LTE advanced services before doing that and enabling them again after the reset, but I still get that error. If I disable LTE advanced, all calls get connected with no problems.
Does anyone know if this is something with a list of supported devices explicitly enabled by the mobile carrier in their network? I am considering calling my carrier for more information but the fact itself I have got a welcome message means the device has been detected as part of the advanced services network. Perhaps there are some network settings I need to enter? Anyone ever used Axon 7's WiFi calling/advanced LTE features on any network?
Does that maybe include VoLTE which the carrier may not support?

Well according to the link provided and what I know, LTE is supported by my operator, but I wonder if it needs to be specifically tailored to a phone model by them and/or the 8.0 update by itself is not providing such functionality or it is limited by default. And I think it may be the first since ZTE products are never on the list of supported phones by any operator. But I couldn't claim it for sure as otherwise ZTE would not have included it at all with the 8.0 ROM and there are so many basic or very old models like LG K8 or Microsoft Lumia 550 that are supported.
Has anyone tried using "LTE advanced" on their 8.0 yet?

LTE Advanced = Volte
If your carrier does not support Volte, keep this option off.
WiFi Calling is something separate and not related.
If your carrier does not support WiFi calling, keep this option off.
You should still get LTE service with both of these options off. I personal find WiFi calling to work poorly, so I leave it off even though my carrier supports it. (TMobile US)
Also, there is a Q and A section for these types of posts. Don't post questions in the Guides and News section please.
Thanks for the input. Both of these options are reported to be supported by my carrier on their website. Also I always had LTE before 8.0 so simply wanted to try the new "HD voice and advanced communication service" as described in the latest firmware.
About posting this thread in the news & discussion section, this only relates to Oreo which was only recently released to the public so it is a completely new feature for the Axon. Most of the other threads are too general and since there will still be many people with 6.1 and 7.0/7.1, I would have hardly got any response whatsoever in there. For now I will keep this new option off and will contact my carrier for the support of the Axon and ZTE in general.

No Wifi Calling Option

Hi,
I am using Mate 20 Pro (LYA-L29) in US and the firmware is 232. I am pretty sure that my carrier (not U.S. carrier) supports VoWifi and I used it on this Mate 20 Pro before while I was not in U.S. After I moved to U.S., I also updated the firmware and the Wifi Calling option has gone since then. To double check what is the cause, I inserted this SIM card into an iPhone and Wifi calling was available and worked well. Therefore, I think it is a problem of this phone.
Does anyone encounter a similar problem?
Thanks!
Different networks operate WiFi calling in slightly different ways. I know that my Mate 9 didn't support WiFi calling in the US but has done in other places without issue.

I don't quite understand why wifi calling depends on the physical place. Say I set the phone to airplane mode and connect the phone to different wifi routers in different places. The wifi standard is always the same and the phone may not be able to tell where it is.
VoWiFi and VoLTE (WiFi and 4G calling) are network and handset dependant. If a particular network hasn't authorised a particular handset, or if that handset doesn't have the specific settings needed for a particular network; then VoWiFi and / or VoLTE won't work.
I installed "Network Cell Info" to check the status of Wifi Calling and the availability of Wifi Calling is No. I notice that the devices prior to mate 20 pro have a secret menu and there is a switch to turn on the availability of Wifi calling. However, the secret menu code does not work anymore in my mate 20 pro.
This is so fvcked that despite my carrier (from which I GOT THE DAMN PHONE) supporting VoWiFI (I had it working on my S7Edge before this) and despite VoLTE working on my Mate 20P, they just won't enable it on Mate 20P.
Guess what...it DOES work on P20/30 Pro, from day 1. Go figure.
Also...got a SIM from a different carrier...bam, VoWiFi working on mate 20P.
This is madness....I'm running out of hair to pull.
PS I went as far as installing Nova launcher so I can create a widget to ENABLE VoWiFi (which normally does not show up in the Settings) but of course it does not do anything because the carrier did not enable it for the phone.
i have same problem in Israel carier
i have the volte switch but its not working.
other carier its worked automatically but their internet i cant watch youtube at 1080p

My situation is exactly the same. I have a switch for VoLTE but not for VoWifi. I also tried Nova launcher, but it did not work.
The strange thing is that the sim + mate 20 pro works in one place, but not in the US.

Wifi Calling on EE UK?

So i got my Mi 8 Pro yesterday (Global Version). The one feature I cannot seem to activate is Wifi Calling, I have done both the *#*#86583#*#* (voLTE) and *#*#869434#*#* (voWIFI), both options are enabled in *#*#4636#*#* and when i go into my sim settings both VoLTE and Wifi Calling are enabled
voLTE shows the symbol in my task bar however wifi calling never seems to enable? Is there some other setting I am missing or do I need to get EE to disable and re-enable it on my account since I've swapped phones? It's vital for me as I work in a lot of places without cell reception so i rely on wifi calling.
Any help is appreciated

Hello, my friend is also like you, he is the development version of WiFi can not be used but the stable version of the MIUI system can be used. You can try to re-wire the stable version of the MIUI system, I wish you good luck.

Anyone have WiFi Calling enabled and working on T-Mobile US?

I really need WiFi Calling in order to reasonably use this phone for calls from my house due to a poor Network signal. There is no Wifi Calling option in Calls -> Settings or in Settings -> Network & internet -> Mobile network anywhere. Also when I do *#*#4636#*#* and go into Phone information Wifi Calling Provisioned option is grayed out.
Nope. Last time I saw wifi calling available was on the XZP. Wasn't an option for the XZ3, and still not an option for the Xperia 1. Try giving tmobile a call or maybe sony support and ask if they can add wifi calling support.

Which frimeware is that ? Is that US unbranded
Nope, no wifi calling for me. I originally had the J9110 model (international dual sim, hong kong) but i recently flashed it with the US firmware. No dice, unfortunately. But since changing to the US firmware, I now get VoLTE and group message in Android Messages. It's a start.
Ya VoLTE is working fine and appears as provisioned in the hidden menu. So it seems like I will have to do something similar to what I did on the XZ Premium in order to get WiFi Calling...but I will wait until there is a DRM backup process.

I see the same thing as you. How did you do it on the xz premium?
I had to root it and flash a zip that someone made for it, it might be possible to use the same zip but I'm not going to root mine until there is a DRM backup method. I barely every talk on the phone without LTE service so it's more so just really annoying not having WiFi Calling. I think a bunch of people were using the same zip for the 2017/2018 xperia phones to get it working.
I have XZ premium and XZ1 and wifi calling option is displayed when I use the Jio sim but not displayed when using Airtel sim (using Airtel broadband), so our phones do have wifi calling facility but working only with Jio sim, although Sony is not shown in the compatible phones list. I am in India.
That also stresses me out on My Xperia 5. Don't know If You talked about My Zips for VoLTE and the other Features but i didn't get it to work actually on Android 10. Possible that i just don't have the right Firmware atm (Customized EU / My Devices Firmware isn't Out yet), so i'm using Custom UK Firmware but that should also work... I'm a bit confused so i switched to GSIs which Made it even worse... Looks like we should start making Custom Vendors for our Xperias since the Methods changed over Android 7-8-9-10
Can you flash the dual sim model to work with a single sim firmware and does Wi-fi Calling Work later?
yes, that's what i did with my xz3. volte works with tmobile, but not att.
