BKL-L09C765 Update Discussion - Honor View 10 Guides, News, & Discussion

Updated- changed the title to be more generic for device rather than just an update/build.
Hi folks,
As title says, this full firmware is available now on FF so you can just dload for update or can use in case phone is soft bricked. This is the first full firmware available for Indian variant on FF.(b151 system img was shared long back).
Note- OTA has already started rolling out a week back and many has received the same. OTAs are coming in batches and should reach everyone by 3rd August as per info i have.

Thanks,
I have figured it out. I have taken second zip file from khera's rom and rename the file to update.app and it's upgraded and now I got OTA update for the new version.

Its better factory reset your phone if you are coming from custom rom.
After update i had so many bugs, but after reset everynrjg is smooth and fine.

Just got the b162 via OTA with August security patches.

Try checking. I just randomly checked and it appeared. Can wait as no change apart from addressing CVE issue as announced in august 2018.

There is no OTA marshmallow update for the KIW L21 yet
Think you might have flashed KII L21 update instead
Sent from my KIW-L21 using Tapatalk
No, the statement is false . I was offered this morning on the App HiSuite the OTA update .
Have you tried the pc program to do a recovery or maybe reply update thru the recovery .... Yes the KIW has the B320 update I'm using it right now ...
I do not have the files . And can download they nowhere . At least for the KIW - L21

don't worry
- turn device off
- put USB-cable in your pc (with drivers and adb/fastboot installed)
- press vol-down and power simultan und plug in USB-cable in your phone within one second
- now you are in bootloader-mode
- flash TWRP and do anything you want (restore a backup, flash rom ...)
- I would advise to flash a rom from xda with TWRP instead of ota or update.app through stock-recovery (only problems!)
So far so good , pretty snappy , batt seems ok . Going on third day with this update . Ui changes in where stuff is located and finally batt percent inside the icon Yeah ... Had some trouble with swipe to unlock while charging butt could have just been the theme.... I use perf mode 90 percent the time I don't like the smart mode at all....

Cool. Still waiting on my KII-L21 (GR5) Nigerian region. No update yet. I keep refreshing Updater everyday. Twice a day even. Nothing.
Plan is when it finds the update, i flash back my stock recovery and update normally. But already getting so impatient. Thinking of moving to CM soon.
Kiw L21 rolled out yesterday dont have the update yet it takes some time. De you have to be fully stock to receive the update? Did you upgrade from B130 or B140?
I'm full stock was B140 with unlocked boot. I tried some Roms but none have FW support afaik so I went back to stock no root. I found the update thru the updated Hicare app not the one already installed but the one the pc program installs....
You have to upgrade from within the HiCare app, select service, then OS Upgrade early adopters.

Noob question: So this means the update is not "officially" out, but rather some kind of public beta where you can enlist for?

It is the official update. From what I understand, the update normally rolls out in stages. You simply 'jump the queue' by downloading it through the early adopters option..

Firmware files download location?

Hi,
Does anybody knows, in which drive or folder the firmware files gets downloaded? I updated from B150 to B180 via Firmware Finder (proxy method), so I was able to download the update files over the normal Firmware Update function in the settings. Sadly, I klicked the Update-button in Firmware Finder several times and so, the download of the update files got started several times.
Now the firmware description page in the settings shows a size of 5 GB for the last update (B180). And on the memory page in settings, there are more than 12 GB occupied drive space from firmware files listed. Other file management tools like Files Go from Google show the same amount of occupied/free space on the internal drive (not SD card). So, the files must be on the phone somewhere. But...
I used several tools to search for the downloaded files. I didn't found them. Not I in a directory on the internal drive, not I in a directory of the system partition (read-only). I also cleared the /cache partition via recovery menu: press Vol-Up and On/Off-Button to switch on the phone and clear Cache.
Has anyone an idea, where the firmware update files have been be downloaded and/or how I can clean up "old" firmware files?
Thx.
The firmware is saved in /data/media/0/HwOUC/[Some number]. /data/media/0 is the internal storage.
Hey,
I have Honor 9 version STF-L09C432B100, I have looked on the forum, and can see you can get Oreo updates since 5th / 11th Dec.
I saw you can get updated firmware from Firmware finder, I saw the latest 180 build, however checking this with imei, shows that is is not ready for my device.
2 questions
1. is it safe to get firmware like this?
2. Am I seeing this due to buying from Three (uk)?

1.) Turn off the phone. Hold down Volume Up + Home + Power until you see a little Android guy. It will say Applying System Update or something like that possibly, and just let it do it's thing until a menu comes up.
2.) Select "Apply update from ADB". You can scroll using the volume buttons and select using the power button.
3.) Make sure you have ADB and the proper drivers installed on your PC:
http://dl.adbdriver.com/upload/adbdriver.zip
4.)Put the firmware in the ADB folder. You can rename it to anything easy to remember like "FIRMWARE".
5.) In the ADB folder, hold SHIFT + right mouse click and choose "Open command window here". Then type the command "adb sideload FIRMWARE" (where FIRMWARE is how you named your file).
6.) Wait patiently.
7.) The phone will reboot and will hang at AT&T logo. This can take another 10 minutes, just wait until it's done
Ok, so I'm a novice at best on flashing with Odin... just flashed my AT&T S7 for the second time today, loading the SM-G930U version of Oreo (G930UUEU8CRJ2).
My understanding is that the 8 in the firmware version (G930UUEU8CRJ2) indicates that it is bootloader v. 8. I also understand that once you update the bootloader, it is impossible to downgrade it... So when I realized I couldnt enable Wifi calling on SM-G930U firmwares I thought I would flash back to the AT&T firmware, and then debloat it to improve the performance. But i cant find an SM-G930A Oreo Rom with BL v. 8.
I thought this one might be, but the 3 files seem to be independant of each other, and the 3rd file that lloked like it might be BL8, is less than 50MB...
So Im hoping you can provide some guidance, and im hoping i didnt shoot myself in the foot with this SM-G930U firmware.
Thank you

Awesome! Thank you, thank you!
I actually really like Oreo, just trying to get Oreo and WiFi calling working on my phone (My Office at work fights all day for 1 bar of cell signal), I had hoped that WiFi calling worked in the SM-G930U variant since everyone talked about it running so much better, but alas, it still doesn't support WiFi Calling (Stupid me for thinking it might have had support added recently).
Thank you again
(My Wife is sure to get upset with me once again working on my phone again today... whoops)
Thanks , G930AUCS8CRJ2 is working fine so far. Do you mind sharing how you go about 'converting' a set of ODIN files to a flashable adb zip? Do you just unextract every single archive in the .md5 files? and then zip it all up? And would rooting to G930AUCU4CRI2 brick my phone now that I am on CRJ2? My bad for all of the questions.

You mean about G930AUCS8CRJ2 sideload with adb? Im just pulling the update from AT&T servers and uploading it here. I don't know how to make sideload zip. And for the rooting part I don't know if its possible now because the bootloader binary was updated to 8, try to search here on xda and see if you can find root methods for this firmware

I actually have no charge port functions and can only use wireless charger to charge the phone till i get the port fixed someday to do these features. I am on Android 8.0 oreo that i installed to sd card and updated from there like a year ago? Is that possible to do? Use SD card update.. Or. Would love to root the phone again, but cent seem to find a one click root app that will work with this phone..

I was thinking something like that was possible. I have baseband version G930AUCU4CRB5 Android 8.0.0 on the AT&T Gal S7 as mentioned, I never saw any updates from this version to go up to a newer version or get into regular updates from OTA. 2 issues I would like to also fixed, that came with the manual update to 8.0 oreo on my phone was the HR heart rate sensor on the back by your flash(red LED) always goes off.. And have tried to go to Samsung health and do some settings to turn it off, but seems to show back up eventually. Also, the issue of not having a working LED indicator, works fine when the phone is POWERED off. and charges. But in OS, it won't work, screen off or on bc of the update. If anyone knows how those issues could be fixed and if there is a possible newer update from my baseband mentioned below. And thanks for the response.
HI, Help needed
Hi,
I wanted to check if it is possible to flash the latest Oreo firmware you have here for downloading dirrectly to my samsung s7 that is currently running on 7.0? Current BaseBand is G930AUCU4BQK2
Basically what happened was that i lost all my contacts on my phone, I ended up download Dr.Phone to my laptop, which i used to try and recover my numbers. What i didnt know was that dr.phone rooted my device which has caused me nothing but headaches.
I now want to flash my phone and get updated to oreo and have my phone working normally again. Since dr.phone did whatever it did to my phone I lost use of my finger print scanner, had to disable samsung health as it kept trying to open on its own, my phone is lagging and freezing constantly..
I just want my phone to be normal again and unrooted and updated.
Lastly my phone is an AT&T device, that i bought second hand in Dubai, if i flash stock firmware is it going to carrier lock my device to AT&T again?
Any advice and help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

How to install huawei firmware?

Hi everybody, I'm a new p20 lite user and I want to ask you: do you know how to install a original firmware? I've tried to follow the dload method (so I put the update.app file into the dload directory that it's located in the external sd card) but the installation process stops at 5%. I found the update.zip file using firmware finder, the firmware I want to install it's avaiable for me (I checked the imei) and I tried with ota and full ota. Maybe I have to unlock the bootloader or root my device before? If someone need my actual build is ANE-LX1 8.0.0.145(C432).

Ok thank you for your replay. I took a look at the post. I've tried to install the firmware using huawei firmware finder (proxy and dns methods) but nothing to do. I have a question for the Huawei eRecovery method of your post: there's no way to not wipe user data? Because for me it will be annoying. Anyway, why if huawei finder tell me a firmware is approved, then via ota there are no one updates??

Nowadays FF is not working as did in the past, I hope it be fix soon.
No, is not possible, to install via eRecovery always wipe data partition, at least I don't know how to avoid it.
That happened to me two days ago, I was running B148 and I find that B150 was approved for installation on the FF app, then I checked settings/system/ system update and no OTA there
To update firmware I'm been using HuRUpdater tool

how to update the path for x6
Hello,
*#*#227#*#* works well.
*#*#874#*#* has no response at all. Is root or bootloader required to do that?
I just realize the X6 I bought from ebay is global firmware version, which does not support OTA. Use OTA to update to latest firmware is a key feature I am looking for. I do not care it is China version or Global version.
Do you have any suggestion that what should be the easiest way? Hopefully no bootloader required. Thanks!
google play pretent CN OTA?
Boss,
After discuss with many other user, we think it is because I am using China version rom, but installed Google play, which pretent OTA update.
Do you think so? Could you give us a solution?
I bought the phone from ebay. I just need OTA.

Use the boot image from Nokia 7 Plus. They work. Just don't flash it, only boot it.
thanks for sharing, i just installed the pie version on my nokia 6.1 plus
Hey I just installed the pie version on my Nokia 6.1 plus (TA-1083).
Will the installation void my warranty?
My camera app is crashing like crazy... Is anyone else experiencing this?

No, it will not destroy the warranty at all. As for the camera app, go to the app's settings and try wiping its data completely. Then reboot your phone and try again.

Well, that didn't do the trick, but I just simply clicked 'disable' after wiping the data and it gave me a message of "uninstalling app and installing factory camera app" which worked beautifully.
Now everything's working fine.

"Would you like to install the following system software?
System upgrade to 330B.B01
You will be unable to use your device or make emergency calls during the upgrade.
It will lead to unexpected result if you cut off power or remove downloaded file while updating software.
There is small possibility of erasing user data caused by upgrade purpose. If need, please backup your data before installing system upgrade.
The normal update can not be guaranteed after the device is rooted. If root contributes to abnormal use on the device in update process, the user should be responsible for it oneself"
