About Omni
The goal of Omni is to experiment with Android development because we enjoy it. Omni isn’t better, just different. It’s another option for the billion Android users out there.*Android (vs. iOS and every other mobile OS) has thrived on options as well as the gigantic, talented development community that has emerged to build those options. That’s the beauty of Android – that you can pick and choose from a smorgasbord of devices with varying features and functionality.
Omni is a chance to get involved, no matter who you are. Developers, whether you’ve been developing apps for a week, or ROM features for 3 years, you’re welcome. Users, we know you want to help out, and now you can – Omni actively encourages bug reports and feature requests, which can be added to our publicly accessible roadmap. What’s the point in giving you a ROM, and forcing you to not tell us about any bugs you find?
We also recognise how people use Custom ROMs – we’re all custom ROM users and developers ourselves – the argument that “nightlies are not for end users” is over-used, and no longer valid. We’ve found that the vast majority of users want to get nightly updates to their ROM. For that reason, nightlies aren’t a playground – nightlies are for new features that are finished. You should be able to expect the same stability and reliability from a nightly as you would from a “release” ROM, and can report any bugs that prevent this from happening.
We know not everyone wants to update their ROM daily, and you are free to update as frequently or infrequently as you like. Omni is about flexibility and giving users what they expect – and we are excited to see where the community goes with it.

Yes, I know. I was asking if the ROM has early mount so I'll know not to try it. I take it that it does have it?
More and more ROMs have it but it's not mentioned upfront. I usually find out the hard way when MultiROM crashes.

Heh heh, me. Don't think the year matters unless there's something else to use in 2018. I run multiple ROMs on my devices (MultiROM or DualBoot Patcher, depending). Best way to play around while having something to fall back on if a ROM goes south.
After several years of multibooting I can't see myself with just one. ?
I guess if MultiROM doesn't get updated anytime soon I may have to stick with just one.

Flashed latest motocam2, no issues with this rom, Thanks for this build, it's a beautiful thing!

Yep. Really liking this ROM. Haven't hit any major snags. Sweet. No Substratum supoort so using themes is like legacy, requiring reboots.
ROM is odexed, right?
Had to post in the OmniROM community to show how pleased I am with it.

Thanks. Just found that out. Although I jumped the gun and had installed the Andromeda Local Client app thinking it was needed. I assume it's not?
Basic behavior hasn't changed though. Reboots are still required to enable/apply some overlays. Either I'm missing something or that's just the way it is without the SubS service.
Still, all good though.

No reboot is needed, uninstall Substratum and Andromeda, then reinstall Substratum and give root access, then install Andromeda and open the app and there are settings you need to toggle....if you need help still, I'm here....I have Substratum applying themes without reboot and also updates themes as new versions are released....look through the settings very carefully.

Dont have the option and i Dont have the access. In other Roms i can enable it in developer options. For example: I installed tb and there was no Pop up who asked me for rights.
ROM Kernel: Linux 3.4.x! Is this correct?
Complete clean install, all works fine, SuperSU works, no issues at all, nearly perfect! Thank you for this! (if you can't access SuperSU, this is the workaround: just install the SuperSU apk manually or from the Play Store, and then it should be there.)
Only request for now: is it possible to include KCAL to the kernel?

I'm running this on the H811 variant and have not experienced the data connectivity issues found on CM13. Mobile data connects at startup without having to toggle airplane mode.
I just installed it and I'm missing a menu with mods =)
Is there some way to remove the extra button on navbar? I prefer the stock navbar buttons!
Thanks

I've tried latest CM13 nightly and Dirty Unicorn, both are plagued with the not being able to record after upgrading to 20o on H811 does this ROM have the same issue. If it doesnt I would be glad to flash, as I rather AOSP ROM and I'm stuck with stock cause of the issue.

Unfortunately, the same video record issue exists. I'm running this on top of the H8112o firmware.

Go to Magisk > Superuser and check if the apps have the root denied. Or if they appear there. Like this.

Same problem here. But I suffered it in LOS, and in AOSP extended. Root only works in ADB but not for apps. Tried everything. I think it's related to the Segmentation fault error described on LOS thread, and not all variants of Cedric are affected.
PS: if you try to get root access lots of times, eventually it will pop up the root request in Magisk and it will work, you need to do it almost 30 times.
andyro2008 said:
However the ROM seems to be affected by the same error as LineageOS. I hoped that this was not the case because it isn't based on LOS. I'm not a developer, but I guess that the problem must be in the kernel code released by Lenovo.
If you are not familiar with the problem, this is the first comment in a series that describes it: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5...-1-moto-g5-t3611973/post73510009#post73510009

Yeah, I feared it is part of the segmentation error. It's a pitty, really. I hope we see an update for twrp (or kernel?) which fixes this problem. Maybe with Android O it might be fixed...

I assume you have the Latin American variant. I'm from Argentina too, but I'm using an UK device bought in Amazon, a weird 3gb RAM variant with removable battery and Dual SIM. So I'm thinking that something must be incompatible with our devices.
If you look at the thread of LineageOS, you will see that there are many people affected. With or without root, commands like "pm", "am, "adb backup" are causing the "segmentation fault error". These commands are used by many root applications (Flashfire, Titanium Backup, Greenify, Disable Services, NapTime, ForceDoze) so you will find lots of complains in customs ROMs related to this problems.
Asking for root access when using Magisk also causes the segfault error. I checked it by looking at the logcat. As always if one repeats many times the command or the action in question it eventually works. Every ROM except the stock one causes the problem on my device. Of course I tried everything, wiping, flashing, going back stock, starting all over again.
I you want to help us, my WhatsApp/Telegram/Gmail are available for you in your Inbox. I'm from Rosario, Argentina, so I talk Spanish way better than English. Thanks for your attention.

Yesterday I started using AOSiP and yes, Magisk for some reason didn't install the Magisk Manager apk, that's why it didn't pop up the requests. Extract the Magisk Manager apk or download it from apkmirror, install it and then should work. Good luck!

They don't need to be unified, they just all need to be used in the build.

No, that would be @SeanStar. Thanks, but it was really nothing. It wouldn't work as good without his work.

I tried that last night, trying to get an Official BlissROM out for us (was probably gonna stop there cuz you guys were doing Awesome over here, Lol). And got nothing but strange double conflicts.. I may have overlooked something since I only pulled the owens folder from vendor and was up too late. But ok, I'll try again later. You're doing a great job, @Goose03 . Props to all of ya

You shouldn't have to do much of anything other than sync or clone the repos and change a few lines here and there to make it build. And make sure you have the msm8937 qcomm audio, display, and media stuff.

You could try asking in the QA section for someone to build it.

It really is that simple. The truck is changing any device name stuffs in some of the android.mk files. Lucky RR built without too many issues. I am just happy to see this many roms out for this devices now.

@SeanHacker Has Aokp Oreo been based off of Aosp instead of Lineage like Tom had planned?
Here's the sprint visual voicemail if anyone wants it. It works 100%. Should work with any custom ROM.

Yes, it is the app from the stock ROM. You only have to pay to get the messages transcribed. You can get them right in the app to read for free though without having to call your voicemail box.

You asked for someone to build AOKP. It's built, and now you just want to keep asking for battery life info. Try it, see how it is for you with your own personal use. Everyone uses their devices differently. Everyone has a different opinion. Make your own opinion based on your own experience. Too many peoples opinions are actually someone else's, and would probably be different if they took the initiative to make their own rather than just listening someone else's.

[8.1.0][SANDERS][ROM] Resurrection Remix v6.2.1 (UNOFFICIAL)

This is a lightly customized variant of Resurrection Remix for the Moto G5S Plus (sanders). I aim to build at least once a month, ideally soon after each monthly security update is merged into the RR tree.
On top of the official version of Resurrection Remix for sanders (which is already great!), there's a handful of tweaks I've made:
Lightly-customized kernel based on RR stock
Power-efficient workqueues
NVIDIA's "relaxed" power-optimized functions
Bringup to 3.18.124
TurboPower charger support
ARCore smart selection model files
Slightly improved APK read performance
GSS garbage collection for ART
Zopfli-compressed APKs conserve space on system partition without incurring additional performance overhead
Enabled use of SIMD instructions (armv8 NEON) in aac/amrwb/h264 codecs
Tweaked some OpenGL ES wrapper methods from regular JNI to fast JNI, which should reduce JNI overhead
ScrollView tweaked for responsiveness
JNI, DisplayService, Vulkan, and OpenGL built with -O3 (yes, this may or may not be a gimmick - figured it was worth a shot)
ROM DownloadPatcher Download (all tweaks used on top of official RR)
Instructions
If coming from a ROM other than Resurrection Remix, you should factory reset before flashing this ROM. Otherwise, you are advised to wipe system, cache, and Dalvik cache partitions before continuing, although a dirty flash without any wiping will probably work too.
If you're coming from official Resurrection Remix, you should probably be able to dirty flash from the latest official version at all times.
After flashing, flash Gapps/Magisk other mods that you want to use; this ROM does not include any of those things.
FAQ
Does this ROM support VOLTE?
If the official release has it, this should too; I did not (and don't know how to) make any changes regarding VOLTE. It did disappear for a short while at the end of the 6.0.0 versions, for some reason, but it seems that it's been added back. Of course, VOLTE support is dependent on your network connectivity/regional availability and your carrier.
Does this ROM support WiFi calling?
Yes. Check in the dialer settings. Again, this feature is dependent on your carrier. Not all carriers that claim to support WiFi calling on your device may work with this ROM.
Does this ROM have GApps? Magisk?
No and no. Flash them yourself if you want to use them.
Yes, this post is kind of ugly. I might make it better later, but everything you need to know is more or less here.

No worries! My wording is complicated there and I should probably fix it. No, this is not somehow modified from the actual .zip that Resurrection Remix officially distributes. This is built from the Resurrection Remix sources. "From scratch", if you will. This is also not based anyhow off of the official stock Oreo ROM from Motorola (as suggested by the thread that you linked).

Please do. I'm curious if the battery is good, is the ROM stable, and hows the overall experience compared to other ROMs or even the official latest rr.
People seem to want screenshots for some reason. Here's a bunch. Customizations mostly.

Battery us good. The ROM is stable and buttery smooth.
There are many customizations which are not present in the official RR.
With the integration of Alice kernel things have become too much good.
Hey ppl. This just started coming up. Any ideas what this means.

Nothing to worry about. Just a notification that SELinux is permissive. This is part of the new Trust interface that LineageOS has implemented (which has trickled through to RR).
I like this ROM a lot, but I've got a few issues. I have to use Universal Safetynet Fix to pass SafetyNet, otherwise I get a CTS Profile Mismatch error. With USF flashed though, I get a vendor mismatch error on startup (which I can just dismiss). Additionally, on every boot I am asked to select my launcher even if I have saved it.
Possibly better EIS performance? Yes and no xD
Long time ago, some users flash a Magisk Module for MI A1. The module add enable EIS and tweak a little with other lines. Im only take persist line to enable EIS and share a zip to the Sanders Telegram group. Its a parcial solution, tested on 720p/1080p but on 4K not get working. Good work bro and like more that type of thread, no ugly, "minimal" style

Screenshots of what? It's essentially a bare ROM. Nothing to show off.
You seem to be all over the place with lots of feature requests and repeated questions. Bordering on spam.

Yes on both, like most custom ROMs, if you want Google and root.
Just remember that this ROM is very minimal. A couple of options like network activity ("hiding" under System UI Tuner section) but not much else. If customization/features are important to either of you then you might have to think twice.
I am really liking this ROM. Been stuck on it that I haven't even booted into the other ones for awhile. Using GravityBox for the featureset and OmniSwitch for recents & favorites sidebar. Threw in Lucid launcher which is quite nice and different.
Substratum themes work but the SubS service is not included.

so, i already read that you are a "flashaholic" (in the best way!) to try custom roms and able to talk about that... i have on my nexus 6p lineage with microg but my wife has some more needs so i don't know which rom to choose... maybe you could give me some hints?
most important is regular updates for the security fixes. i allways install root and xposed so functionality and full control will be given
thanks

I'm sorry community. I suffered a robbery a month ago, they entered my house and they took my laptop. I've just been with my new PC for a few weeks, but I would need an HDD and I could update the rom. At the moment I'm taking a break, I started with the Pie version and all this happened to me.
I need some time to relax, but I'll probably be back soon. Thanks for understand!
As always, real life (good or bad), takes precedence. This ROM stuff is not important.
Sounds clichéd but I'm sorry for your loss, man That sucks big time.
