for me best rom is aex and havoc with pitch black recovery - before flashing any rom plz wipe data,delvic,cache,system.vendor ,cust for better experience and flash gapps with rom.
all the roms are also available in there official site with rolex or riva name ,i just wanted to share this wonderfull roms which are spread in different forums .
I've only had tried out crDroid and Pixel Experience from that list, and from 2 of those Pixel Exp is way better.
Mostly due to stability issues with crDroid.
Also enjoyed [7.1]ResurectionRemix with all of its customization options.

you should try aex ,it is the most stable oreo rom for me.
thanks, because of you, i am trying both. aex and havoc.. pixel experience is a nice rom too.

Alright. After trying all. i came to conclusion, best rom is AEX
Aex is the most stable Oreo rom for 4a/5a and also battery / performance is super good, also u will receive frequent updates most of the time every month.
AEX is seriously the best ROM. All other Oreo ROMs consume lot of battery.
Alright.. recent aosp extended has bugs, random bootloops too.
Recent pixel experience 8.1 is amazing ROM
So my vote now goes to pixel experience 8.1 . Almost everything works, stable. Unfortunately I can't change vote lol

I have found DOT OS ... ULTRA STABLE.. i dont like AEX .. bcz usual appearence... HAVOC OS.. consumes battery A LOT.. so.. DOT OS.

Tested a lot off roms and bootleggers was for me the highest around 260.000. Didn't test all roms so maybe there are higher scores.
Featured packed rom is Havoc 2 pie but rom is not that stable and needs updates
Mine's at Miui 10 global stable 10.1.3.0.. with r12 franco kernel. This one's enough for both my gaming & balanced needs. Though it scores a bit lower. @ about 260k something on antutu. Because it is underclocked at 2.1ghz speed..
This one's the best for me..
Though i also tried LOS16 & NOS... BUT im still flashing back to miui global. ??? And franco kernel.. ever since r1.. ???
Latest Nitrogen OS with Franco kernel is the best of custom roms, but still has a few bugs. After I tested all (Miui & Aosp based) I'm back to Miui 9.6.25.0 for the battery
No ROMs are best. Every one of them has one or the other bug. I would have recommended stock miui, but since you have mentioned "custom", so I guess you have decided to go for a custom ROM. Hence, I would suggest you to try NOS or CAF Reloaded (AOSP based)/Miui EU or MI-Room (MIUI based).

Miui EU + eXtreme kernel v12. The best combo for Pocophone. I was running Pixel Experience since I got the phone... But in one morning my rom was ****ed so I decided to go back to miui but not on global... I went to xiaomi eu. I let a print screen down bellow... No word needed.

I'd recommend PixelExperience. It's the best one I've used, tho it has no customizations at all.
Wait till SyberiaOS gets an update and adds FaceUnlock as well.
Havoc OS
Try Havoc OS it's a really good rom with many customization features. But I did have some issues while installation.
If you don't want to install Havoc OS then I don't think that there are many roms that offer that mush customization.
You can try Syberia OS but I haven't tried it so I can't say anything about it.
I tried miui.eu 11.2 beta from bitnet , it is very pretty and the best of all, but haven't OTA update you must download update manually and flash it with TWRP.
You can try SyberiaOS it is very nice and closest to EvoX.
Havoc os is nice too, but haven't ota update you must flash it with TWRP.

What premiostr have that miui.eu dont have ?
If u r looking for best battery backup and no ****ty mods go for lineage 17.1 by Pigs it is rock solid rom right now although it is unofficial but way better than any official rom anyway best rom totally depends on ur preferences so no rom is best.
Ressurection Remix is the best ROM ever for me, Lineage OS is close second.
I am now using miRoom ... decent but i will change soon
I enjoy MSM Xtended.
Miui based: Hellas Rom or Miuimix
AOSP: LOS or AICP

Shapeshift is a really nice ROM out there, has fully working FOD like MiUI and the battery is at its best and the customisation provided are good enough, with the oneplus launcher that i prefer, stability is very good in this rom no issue faced till now??
So for battery life do you recommend Lineage OS?

Havoc. Very robust features and has no bugs. Battery drain is a little high, but I can live with that. Fingerprint reader is the best I've used.

CrDroid for the most customization, AwakenOS for an all-rounder rom. In terms of kernel, NGK and SilverCore are the only two options.
I'm very fussy with custom roms and only flash a new one if I hear its stable. I came from evolution x pie to Lineage 20 (Android 13) and Los is a fantastic rom. I'm yet to find any bugs so I highly recommend Los
