I'm using EvolutionX (march security patch) on my mi a3 but i read in the thread that the developer has abandoned the rom, so i m looking for a good rom to replace, one with equal features to Evox, i was thinking of derpfest OS but i Didn't find it for laurel sprouts
Please recommend me any if y tried
I'd recommend PixelExperience. It's the best one I've used, tho it has no customizations at all.
Wait till SyberiaOS gets an update and adds FaceUnlock as well.
Havoc OS
Try Havoc OS it's a really good rom with many customization features. But I did have some issues while installation.
If you don't want to install Havoc OS then I don't think that there are many roms that offer that mush customization.
You can try Syberia OS but I haven't tried it so I can't say anything about it.
I tried miui.eu 11.2 beta from bitnet , it is very pretty and the best of all, but haven't OTA update you must download update manually and flash it with TWRP.
You can try SyberiaOS it is very nice and closest to EvoX.
Havoc os is nice too, but haven't ota update you must flash it with TWRP.

for me best rom is aex and havoc with pitch black recovery - before flashing any rom plz wipe data,delvic,cache,system.vendor ,cust for better experience and flash gapps with rom.
all the roms are also available in there official site with rolex or riva name ,i just wanted to share this wonderfull roms which are spread in different forums .
I've only had tried out crDroid and Pixel Experience from that list, and from 2 of those Pixel Exp is way better.
Mostly due to stability issues with crDroid.
Also enjoyed [7.1]ResurectionRemix with all of its customization options.

you should try aex ,it is the most stable oreo rom for me.
thanks, because of you, i am trying both. aex and havoc.. pixel experience is a nice rom too.

Alright. After trying all. i came to conclusion, best rom is AEX
Aex is the most stable Oreo rom for 4a/5a and also battery / performance is super good, also u will receive frequent updates most of the time every month.
AEX is seriously the best ROM. All other Oreo ROMs consume lot of battery.
Alright.. recent aosp extended has bugs, random bootloops too.
Recent pixel experience 8.1 is amazing ROM
So my vote now goes to pixel experience 8.1 . Almost everything works, stable. Unfortunately I can't change vote lol

I have found DOT OS ... ULTRA STABLE.. i dont like AEX .. bcz usual appearence... HAVOC OS.. consumes battery A LOT.. so.. DOT OS.

Can you please update the list with Pie roms? It will really help.

To those who flashed ROMs multiple times, which do you think is the most stable for Redmi 5? (Whether in Nougat, Oreo or Pie)
stock miui is the most stable by far. as for custom rom resurrection remix is the best IMO as it have much customization (but design is quite outdated). For oreo, lineage os is quite stable i guess but lack of customization as it try to look like stock android rom. I had tried all the pie rom, the only one working is the aex rom but it is much less stable for me, although the battery and temp is good.
I find the official pixel experience oreo Rom to be most stable. Except ir sensor everything works perfect. I find it more smoother and gives better battery backup than than stock rom.
Lineage 15.1 trbale
Most stable with everything working no matter what? Lineage 14.1 Nougat.
99% stable with only minor issues (slow fingerprint if you have Goodix fingerprint reader)? Lineage 15.1 Oreo or one of the new official ROMs like PIxel Experience or AospExtended. The only difference between them is how much you want to customize them, Lineage gives little chance, AExtended is best for that, PE already packs some Gapps so if you want that then its good, but if you don't want Gapps then Lineage.
90+ % stable with chance that you can create it to be what you want? Any of the Pie GSI's (I prefer PE).

Try Pixel Experience on 9.0. It's pretty stable with a good battery backup.

As the title States, is there any oxygenos stable pie ROM available for our device, if it's not available I'd request anyone to port for our beloved device. Undoubtedly oxygenos is better atleast to me it's better than stock. I'd like to see it, as it got ported to many devices like rn5, rn4, 4 and so on. Thank you.

I'd say until this gets ported, if it does.... Try Lineage OS., its basically stock android with extra features, quite similar to Oxygen OS, and the OnePlus devices originally had Cyanogen OS (Lineage OS predecessor) installed on them.
You could also try this magisk module, it would bring some of the OxygenOS features to any ROM as long as you have Magisk installed.

I have tried a lot of roms but no e seems perfectly stable yet.
I want a good rom with updates.
If you want just a stable and overall good rom, than you can't go wrong with LineageOS 15.1. It's stable and clean so no useless functionality. Also as it is official, you will be getting updates, security included (I think).
Pixel Experience Official 9.0 has been my daily driver for months, it's awesome. I'm still running the AOSP version but i'm contemplating switching to CAF.

So i got this phone from my cousin who used to use this but it lags like hell and i would like to upgrade it to something better, Wanted Oxygen os but it isnt available on this phone i think. So, i want to know if MIUI 12 can be installed on this phone and if not what other roms would you recommend?
Well I'm pretty sure DotOS 5.x.x is the closest custom rom to miui and is a vailable for a variety of devices.
Otherwise, HavocOS is one of my favourites, BlissOS is good too in terms of customisability.
LineageOS is often the fastest custom rom on devices, though it lacks customisation.
DotOS 5.x looks pretty good. i should do some research on the other ones as well.
I have used LineageOS for android 11 on my galaxy grand prime and while it was good it was also a bit too simplistic for my taste
edit: I dont think 5.x is available for Honor 5x
Well, most roms other than lineage and pure aosp usually are customisable, so give any of those a go. Miui 12 most likely wont be ported, as the last ported version was miui 8, and dotos 5.x probably wont be available either as this device's development is only till android 10 from what I can see.
I am on lineage os 17.1, it looks good, did not see dotos 5.x for honor 5x
