[BOOTLOGO]Custom bootlogos; dark variant included! - Moto X4 Themes, Apps, and Mods

I'm working on custom bootlogos for our pretty little Moto X4, thanks to @caitsith2 and @AvenidaDelGato. To start off, here is a dark bootlogo, with bootloader unlocked warning disabled (of course). I'll be updating the thread to post new bootlogos regularly. Open to requests and suggestions!
To flash, boot into bootloader mode and run
Code:
fastboot flash logo x.bin
where x is the name of the downloaded bootlogo.
Downloads and previews available here.

I personally love the Android One bootlogo. It'd be nice to see some creative ones made using that one. Nevertheless nice job man!

good to see some more customizations for Moto X4

Bro read the comments! he just wrote 2 comments above yours that he has included them!

Can I flash bootlogo images with the bootloader UNlocked?
(My excuse for such a noob question: I'm experienced with changing bootlogos on boot-unlocked and rooted phones. I usually unlock and root phones right away. My X4 is still under warranty, and I want to keep it on stock for Pie upgrade. I'm comfortable using fastboot and adb over usb connection.)
/I love the black androidone - Thanks

I wanted a white Google logo, and a black one

Bro, read what I said again. I asked if the animation is dark however it is just a static image and not "animated".
@abhi212b, Next time please understand before replying to anybody.

Did you mean locked? Your follow up comments make me think you meant locked/ unmodified in anyway.
If so, I have the same question.

This is boot logo, not boot animation.
During booting, boot logo is loaded first from logo_a/logo_b partition (depending which slot is active). Then, boot animation is loaded from /system/media/bootanimation.zip.
bootanimation.zip is made up of multiple images that are displayed in sequence to form an animation.
boot logo can only contain a single* static image, it doesn't support Animated PNG format (AFAIK).
(*technically, the logo partition is made up of multiple images, each for different situation/scenario. Since only one image is displayed at a time, hence no animation.)

Black theme boot logo is outstanding, thanks!

Could you remove the Code markup? Cannot access any links, and when replying, the text in Code is ignored. Perhaps this is just an issue in the mobile app.

I could successfully change the boot logo. But after updating LOS 16 to the latest version the old boot logo again appeared. This might be related to the A/B partitions. How can I make sure the modified boot logo always appears? Just flash it again on the 2nd partition? Thx

Anybody know what font is used on the custom greetings? Want to recreate mine since I've unlocked the bootloader.
Have you guys been able to remove the normal (locked bootloader) image? It just stays there for me. Which sucks because I'm barely over the 4mb limit!
Need root right ... ??

[KERNEL]Stock Decrypted Kernel without Verity Checks

Here is the stock kernel without verity checks and no forced encryption.
In order to decrypt your device, you must flash the img and format userdata.
Download: http://renderserver.net/?dl=efd034ffba8b6b67c8d50ab4499ed86f -MDB08K
Do not hesitate to ask for help. I get my device tomorrow and will be working on ROMs and custom kernels when I receive it.
DISABLE BCL
Here is how to disable BCL using an init.d script.
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
sleep 40
echo disable > /sys/devices/soc.0/qcom,bcl.60/mode
What is BCL?
BCL polls the battery monitor system for various values such as voltage, current and temperature through the battery. This driver is meant to help prevent possible reboots, but with it removed on several devices we have seen no issues.
The way it prevents reboots is by setting thresholds and when the threshold is passed or tripped, it will throttle or unplug cores, which is detrimental to performance(we have seen it on the OnePlus Two and Nexus 6 so far). With that being said, wouldn't you truly like your device to run at its maximum performance and let the real hotplugging and thermal drivers work properly?

How much of a difference is this expected to make to storage performance? Getting phone Monday hopefully and this seems the kind of thing you want to do out of the box, rather than formatting later.

It's just on userdata access, so stuff you usually find on the emulated SD such as pictures, music. videos. I swear by unencrypted anyways, because we won't be able to use TWRP properly without it I also remove verity so if you mod your system images we won't get corrupt system errors on boot. You will still see the bootloader one if your bootloader is unlocked, this happens on 6P and 5X.

I've once read a CyanogenMod reply saying bootsound is one of the less used features of a ROM so they would drop support for it. As such, there is no bootsound support in any CyanogenMod ROM.
CM7 ROMs would still have bootsound support and just remove bootsound execution on startup, but CM9+ ROMs have dropped all the code necessary for bootsound right off the kernel.
I guess adding bootsound back is a real PITA even for advanced users since not even developers on the XDA forums added it back.
Sorry mate, I hate this too, but there's no way we could get it back . Maybe we can re-code the instructions again . Atleast for LineageOS we should try to bring it back

The non continuity between op boot logo and boot animation is still there. Is that a know issue? Can it be fixed?

The bootanimation will be fixed when OxygenOS 10 for OnePlus 5 will be out (I'm gonna take the ZIP from there)

On OnePlus 3/3T, you need to use SAR package only on Android 10 ROMs

Are those SAR packages can be flashed with normal twrp?

Yes, but it's a magisk module so you'll need to have Magisk. I'll port standard zips with the new bootanimation (I'm gonna take it from OOS 10 update for OP5)
May I know what is the difference between this boot animation in OP and default boot animation?
Seems exactly same to me. @PierreVicquery02
I'm running Havoc OS (Android 10) on my 3T and the SAR package does not do a thing. The installation is successful but the module does not show up in Magisk. Nor does the boot animation change. It's not showing Am I missing something.
Hi guys!
Unfortunately, OP changed his plans on OP5 for boot logo. I uploaded 2 new versions:
NEW: Provides new Android 10 logo + new OnePlus logo
HYBRID: Provides new Android 10 logo but maintains old OnePlus logo to fit OxygenOS bootanimation
Bootanimation packages are not needed anymore. If you want OxygenOS boot animation, there is plenty of downloads in the web

Hi @Pierre02;
Could you please share the png you have used in the NEW logo.bin, as you did here with the old one (with the old OnePlus logo).
I want to use it in my bootanimation.zip, but unfortunately did not manage to extract it, as all software available to extract logo.bin seems not to work or is not available anymore.
Would be a great help!
Edit:
Took the screenshot from the first page and used Gimp to resize, cut and edit contrast settings. For who wants to use a really basic boot animation in line with the NEW bootlogo with just "booting..." with 1/2/3/4 dots and the logo building up, you can pick the attached boot animation.zip and replace the one in system_root/system/media.
Pressing the thanks button when you like it will be appreciated of course
