See it totally depends on you what you actually want in your phone.
S8+ is premium class phone
-best camera
-Samsung's UX
-good looking
-amoled edge to edge display
-glass front and back
Soo yea its a premium phone. So don't sell it
Pocophone f1 is a budget phone with flagship specifications
It may not look premium and eye candy like galaxy s8+, but it is for power users who don't have so much budget.
I personally want to buy poco f1, because of that specification with aggressive pricing . And currently I am using redmi note 3, So yea for me its a huge upgrade.I will use custom rom on this thing as i am doing with redmi note 3.
See i not i favor of poco or Samsung, but its totally upto your requirement. What you actually want.

Well, I don't have money for now. I would suggest going for this phone. Because Samsung is selling crap these days. And moreover no custom and AOSP ROMs. so using Samsung just for the camera and few other things is useless.

You want to replace a flagship with a budget phone? I would never do that it makes no sense to me.
Yes it has some great hardware, newer than the s8 but still....budget phone dude.

No custom roms?
Guess you havent checked in the samsung development forums lol.

No you shouldn't. S8 is a flagship device and it will beat poco in many departments. For just SD845 leaving S8 is not practical. SD835 and SD845 don't have that huge of a performance gap either, games will perform more or less same.
But yea, if you're broke for some reason and need some money but can still afford a 300$ device then I think it's a good idea.

I .b2.WJQwould do it for the bootloader. Samsung makes beautiful flagships but to me, what's the point if the bootloader is locked. As you probably guessed I live in the U.S (near Cleveland) and couldn't spend $900 to buy a International phone. So I'm stuck with a G965U and a 2 year plan with Sprint

buy a Pixel 2 XL

if you're into casual usage and use your phone as it is, use Samsung
if you're into modding and flashing, maybe this is a good one although we don't know how massive the development of this rom can be

I'm thinking of getting this and I've just sold my S9+. That is a premium phone but I found I don't care for the curved edges, I was over protective, in case it dropped etc. The camera is great, particularly video.
I've also noticed that resale values of the S9 have dropped considerably, you can pick them up for £500 for the plus model on some sites.
What appeals to me with this phone is the power. The camera seems good, and similar to the One Plus 6 on some reviews. Also, for taking a photo to post ok social media I really do wonder just how much of a difference people actually notice now.
I like the fact it doesn't have a glass back, so more durable and less likely to want to stick a case ok it. I know the screen is Gorilla Glass 3 so will stick a screen protector on.
This phone offers so much for the price it's unbelievable. I'm pretty much certain I'm going to get it and not have the associated anxiety of if I damage my phone its going to cost an arm and a leg to fix. Be keen to see some drop tests.

Just go for it I sold my note8 now i am in love with this device...camera is great battery is better than note 8 and phone unlocking speed is insane...the battery life sucks on note8..but this phone goes 1.5 days with some good usage.
The only thing i am missing from note is ip67 water and dust rating which xiaomi will launch in future devices

If your budget is not for a S9/S9+/note9 then why not. People are going "mad" to get this phone so for the 2-3 next months you can easily sell as a used one for a good price if you don't like it. Sure it is not a premium phone like S8, it is better in some specs but in other cases fall far behind S8.

Galaxy S8+ its not that old, you dont really need to change your phone unless its broken and you are looking for a new one, if you have a good and functional S8+ stay with it. Now if you are like me, that its still rocking a nexus 5 which the battery life now its less than 1 hour SoT then a poco phone could be a good replacement

Post with respect, this is a helpful community, hope we all learn from this stuff in here.
I would like to see peoples opinion's on the note 3 compared to the LG G2. I am on the fence on the two. Im coming from the S3 so the note will be quite large. Being on Verizon we dont have the Nexus 5 option so it seems it is up to these two devices. My main hesitation on the Note is how locked down it is. We might not get customs roms on it at all. The LG G2 has Loki so we are good to go on that one. Both of the build qualities are lacking so thats a wash.

LOL, THAT was one funny movie......
I'm on the fence about mine. I got in on the Verizon unlimited data glitch and have a Note 3 coming.
I have a Note 2 and if not for the glitch wouldn't have considered upgrading. The Note 3 just didn't excite me enough to spend the money. I HATE pentile matrix screens and I felt like the move to 5.7" wasn't enough. I want something in the 5.9" to 6.1" range.
With California taxes I'm in for about $385, and I figure I could sell the Note III for $700ish. Then in a couple months I could sell my Note II for around $300 and have a nice little fund for a new device. What I really want is the HTC One Max, but who knows if Verizon will ever get it?
I don't know what to do.

The G2 is a really nice device. I hate the buttons on the back, but everything else about the physical form factor is great.
The screen is really nice, it's fast, excellent camera and battery life. I hate LG's skin, but with Nova you can cover up a lot, and now that it's Loki'd I figure it's only a matter of time before AOSP roms are available.

I have the LG spectrum and it's a great phone except for cheap sensors. Before I ever buy lg again I will install android sensors or sensor box on the store demo first. Cheap sensors have a lower range and/or operate erratically. I.e. Magnetic sensor: og Droid 0-2000, gs3 0-20000 and LG Spectrum 0-200!
What's it mean? Compass apps not reliable or accurate, Google sky map to jittery to use, auto brightness works poorly, when on call screen takes longer to turn on for the keypad, etc. At first I thought I had a lemon but LG insisted it was the applications.

contract up !!!! What to buy next?
My contract will be up soon. I am looking to replace Verizon samsung Galaxy Nexus which I loved. I was looking at the Note 3. I like the big screen.
I have a rooted phone and want to root this new phone. The main reason I root is for the hotspot feature. Anyone have any suggestions on what phone I should look at. I am using MIUI Android Rom right now. I would be open to even staying with original OS if it had everything I wanted.
Would also like a phone with a longer lasting battery.
Has the Note 2 had any problems I should be aware of?
Any help is appreciated.
I have time so I am willing to wait if there is a good recommendation. I also don't want a bigger screen. The note 3 size seems to be perfect.

The Note 2, frankly... is incredible. I've had the verizon note 2 for a year now and i'm dying for the note 3. my note 2 is practically my best friend at this point. I know i sound like such a fanboy but i literally just smile when my friends complain about their phones, mine never has any of their stupid issues.

I challenge you to take 2 1080p screens smaller than 6" and, without prior knowledge, tell anyone which is pentile and which is any other matrix with your naked eye.

I've had the Note2 for about six months... it is easily the best phone I've ever owned. Seriously, it absolutely blows the doors off the Galaxy Nexus, in performance, build quality, screen quality, battery, phone call quality... I wouldn't have upgraded to the Note3 if it wasn't for the Verizon glitch. ...that and my wife wanting my Note2!

I agree 100 %.
The Note 2 is BY FAR the best phone I've ever owned and I have basically owned every high end phone ever made.
The N2 is the first phone I have ever owned that I was 100% totally satisfied with and haven't been impatiently waiting for the next phone to come out for an upgrade.
I will still probably buy the Note 3 at some point (I have a line I can use for an upgrade and keep my unlimited data), although I will wait and make sure it is at least rootable first as I just know I would never be totally happy with a 100% stock phone.
I'm intrigued by the HTC One Max. I don't use the s-pen or multi-window much and I do use the external speaker daily. I'm hoping for more information about the Max this week. Also, my eyes aren't what they used to be so the large screen may work. Then again the Note 3 is calling to me since I have loved my Note 2 since it's release.....we'll see

Looks like an AWESOME phone to me, but I use the s-pen quite a bit.
This obviously is a question I can only answer myself but wanted some input from some people that have bathed themselves in note 3 info... lol and some likely coming from an s3.... I'm not eligible for a new phone until march 2014... however I'm sure I could call and call and eventually get an upgrade to edge anyway (done this before... it works.. just keep calling) edge obviously a bit of a rip off.. but i could kill a few other accounts i don't really use often to make up for the cost.... and obviously if i wanted to flip a phone i could do so in 12 months or so..... with that being said..
I do love the size.. and the bigger screen is preferable to me when it comes to videos.. and other things. The speed is obviously sweet and so is the size... however..
I use my phone to play general games.. not a huge gaming on phone person.. (less you could get league of legends on there lol)... i use my phone as a basic camera..... as well to surf the web... 75% of the time i have access to a desktop in which time i could use my phone as well... i do enjoy surfing whatever sitting on the couch obviously..... I'm really on the fence... I always get super hyped over a new phone (got s3 right away and it took several calls to Verizon to get it done) in which yes, its a nice phone with nice camera options... with that being said.. its still a phone... using it to call people is its basic purpose... i've started to utilize google calandar more and more as i have a disability that the meds hinders my short term memory..so that would be one nice thing.. the s pen is sweet.. looks so awesome.. but i don't see me using it much except to jot down phone numbers or addresses on the fly (which wouldn't be often.. i'm not a people person type of guy and my job doesn't require any use of cellphones) So i'm thinking a faster processor.. better camera..the faster processor and screen size would be the main reasons..... but do i really want to go for it? do i really want to get it now and go on the verizon edge program? I just feel like I may be jumping in and after a month regretting my decision... anyone coming from an S3 have an early opinion? ( i also am in an area where voice calling isn't that great... and i would hope it would be better with the s3 (its better on my wifes older galaxy nexus)... that would be something i suppose i would have to find out after the fact.. and use the 30day policy... to go or not to go..... been thinking about it A LOT for the past week.
Be careful... if you're on Sprint or Vzw, it's only a 14 day policy

Whether or not you consider Edge to be a rip off, I prefer it to dropping $300 on the phone, plus paying my ETF for my old line. That is a total of roughly $310 +$50 for last bill + $300 + taxes for Note 3 = $660 on the lean side. With Edge I spent $102 with Priority Overnight shipping, screen protectors, first month of Edge, and taxes. Now when I sell my HTC One, I sell for around $400 after shipping and paypal fees, that leaves me with just enough to justify upgrading to Note 3. Now in 12 months, I will have paid $300 or so, and I can upgrade to the next Note 4 by then. I find this better.
Okay now on to your question: S3 is a good phone, but no Quad Core Processor, 2GB RAM is okay low compared to Note 3, but 1080p screen is a nice addition, makes watching 1080p movies so much better (based on my experience with 1080p on HTC One). No more scaling, or downsizing. Honestly if you can get the Note 3 at $299 or Edge it then do it. I recommend it.
N3 > LG2 because it has a micro sd slot and no annoying fixed nav bar taking up display space. What is the point of the bigger display if you end up having about the same space as a 5" display (if no nav bar)?
S3 and N3 seem IMO two different devices. I have medium hands and find the phablets too big for one hand operation and awkward (too big) to carry in a belt case compared to my S4. That said, if I did not have several tablets, I would choose the N3 as a true all-in-one device.
this. the htc one max has my attention but the biggest question is when will it come to verizon? remember the htc one? and if htc one max has removable sdcard i may have to buy it and have my note 3 and then decide which i like better. i love sense when it comes to htc phones but cant stand nonremovable battery and expandable storage so we will see. and i really like having an s pen if i dont use a whole lot when you need it, it comes in very handy but if the ppi is much higher and screen is better on one max i will be sure of that so it will be an interesting few weeks

Everything I've read/seen shows a removable battery and 16-64GB on-board storage + Micro SD slot. Add this to the front speakers, S-Off having been developed for the VZ One variant, and the only shortcoming is the S-pen features that you won't get vs the N3. I've asked around recently to find out if any of that gets ported to ROMs, so if that's not available I think I finally know what I'm going to buy. I need a new phone immediately if not sooner, but just want to feel like I'm getting my money's worth.

Is the Note 8 worth it?

I keep seeing these videos on YouTube or other places even from XDA employees. Saying should you buy the Note8 or the S8 or S8+. I know people with the S8 and the S8+ and let me tell you the Note8 is Superior to both of those phones. Number one the build quality and the looks. The Note8 looks and feels like a more premium phone than the S8 and the +. The S8 and especially the + feels like something is missing inside of them. The Note8 is solid. Then the Note8 has a bigger and brighter screen than the S8 and +. Then it just plain looks sexier than those two. Then the Note8 has software the other 2 don't have. Then we go to the Spen that's a point all by itself!!! So these crack pots making these videos are crazy. But everyone has their own opinions. But that does not mean they are right. I love my Note8 would not trade it for a S8 or + for any amount of money.

What do you think
?????
I was in the same boat as you. Treated myself to Note8 and never looked back. The display is absolutely breathtaking and that in itself is a unique selling point for me. Even though i have been using the phone for almost 2 weeks now, everytime i look at the display, it takes my breath away. S pen is a hit or a miss for me. It's not the practicalities which stop me from using it. More like, i forget it's there ?.
Also, this is my first Android phone which i will not be rooting. Samsung pay has spoilt me.
I've had s8n, s8+ and note 8...ill take the s pen and 6 gb of ram... My. S8+ always got 5.5 hours screen time, note Rarely over 4.5...note for the win

ive already ordered my Pixel xl 2 for $900 black because the black ships in 2 to 3 weeks and its in stock. the white looks better but is 4 to 6 weeks away and i emotionally couldn't wait that long.
But ive also been very interested in sm-n955f and have been debating on cancelling my pixel xl 2 order and go after a note 8 international f version. theyre priced similarly .
the only thing i want is to have freedom over my device with custom recoveries custom roms substratum with definite root and unlockable bootloader. if the 955f rom development opens up and gets growin thats my queue.

This literally has nothing to do with this thread topic. The OP is questioning why reviewers don't seem to value the key differences between the S8+ and the Note8, which is baffling to us Note8 users.
I agree with you, OP. I wouldn't even buy an S8+. For me right now, if I wasn't allowed to buy this phone, it'd be the Pixel XL 2 or LG V30. Only after those being taken away as options would I consider the S8+. This phone having the RAM boost for unparalleled multi-tasking ability and the s-pen are HUGE differences. If the s-pen was a modular add-on for any phone, I'd always buy it and I'd probably pay $200 for the s-pen abilities. So the gap in price between the S8+ and Note 8 is easily worth it to me.

I hear ya. I was a die hard Nexus user. When they went to pixel it just did not do it for me. I do not like the way the phones look. I will admit the pixel 2 XL does look better. But the Note 8 looks way better to me. I do miss all the development on Googles phones. But as I have gotten older I don't see myself flashing all these roms like I use to. I would like root and a couple of things. But until Google makes another Nexus I will stick with the Note. Nexus to me was like a pro phone. The Pixel looks like they made it for the average Joe. I liked having something special.
I dont see the point in comparing apples with oranges? I see these reviews and most of them baffle me.
There are four superb Samsung Galaxy S8 series mobiles, the 8, 8+ the (forgot the bloomin name) and the Note. All four have there market share, all four serve a given need and they are not comparable.
Identical situation with cars. Merc class C will come in coupe, saloon and cabriolet even more types.... One is not better than the other all are good cars and all will serve their niche in the market.
I have no idea why we see the Note 8 being compared or versed against other mobiles? There is no other mobile like the Note series. Not my fault don't shoot the messenger. We own a particular type, brand and style of mobile that's unique in this marker sector. As for comparing the Note 8 with non Android mobiles such as Windows and IOS it becomes even more absurd.
I find the note range in the past few iterations to be fabulous micro PC's. Incredible devices and those who don't make use of that S-pen are truly missing the point. The S-pen is not the cherry on the top its the cake. :good:

I'm past troubleshooting roms.Samsung has matured to the point where root hurts more than it helps. I'll keep my Samsung pay and stable OS. Tethered to a Frontier,Samsung ecosystem is decades ahead of the competition.

For some reason, people always feel that they have to justify to the public why their phone is better than your phone; I mean who really cares what someone else thinks about your phone, your car, your clothes, what ever; I miss the days when being an individual was more important that being like "everyone else"..
I've had at least 50 cell phones in my life, and the last few were alot of fun; nexus 6, huawei mate 9 pro, S7 edge, and frankly, this note 8 is probably the best all around phone I have had so far..dont care about rooting any more, but probably will once its perfected and the BL is unlocked, if it ever is, but, that being said, the truth is that NO CELL PHONE is worth 1000 dollars, this one included..but, if you are going to overpay for a cell phone, this one is probably the one you should pop for

I hear you loud and clear. :highfive:
Your last sentence is where we differ. I am unsure how one can write that no mobile is worth 1k€? I know its an awful lot of cash and I know it makes ones eyes water BUT in the case of the Note 8 have you any idea how complex this mobile is to design then produce? The R&D must cost tens of millions alone. Write a list of the accomplishments the Note 8 covers and its incredible.
In way of comparison. in 2000 my Toshiba Satellite 2800-100 lap top cost 1,500.00€. Celeron 650MHz processor. 6GB hard drive. 64Mb sdram ram memory. It weighed about 3kg. In 2000 it was cutting edge technology! 17 years later we have micro engineered a device that is just chalk and cheese in terms of value, cost and tech'.
In 1989 my NEC 11A 'mobile phone' cost £320.00(?) and only made and answered calls and wow was each call expensive. Its relative and accept it or not over the years the technology has developed at break neck pace yet the prices have dropped.
I paid last year for the Note 7 887.00€ (twice, enough on that already). This year I paid 1,020.00€! That's a rise of 133.00€ in 12 months to maintain this cutting edge technology. Does the Note 8 warrant that 133.00€ price increase? I would say without a doubt yes but it is subjective and open to debate. :good:
In theory by 2020 we could be looking to pay for the Note 11 1,500.00€ or more! Goodness knows when this technology will level out and reach a point where totally new technology will reach a plateau? For sure unless the science of battery power changes the next generation of uber mobiles may only function for an hour sans a recharge or be the size of my 1989 NEC 11A!
The Note series started a revolution in the mobile market. I recall when it hit the stores there was hardly a positive review as most reviewers said the device was too big and the trend would never catch on and indeed I DID feel self conscious when using the Note 1 in public. The rest is history.
Now if you truly desire a debate on the value of a device talk Apple. There latest iPhone 8 is a literal disgrace in 'modern technology' and the price -v- value is absurd by any standards. The iPhone 8+ is a better buy but still lags behind the rest yet millions and millions buy them? I suspect just for the brand? That's crazy. :silly:

I think that all those videos or articles about questioning if the note 8 is worth the money it costs over the s8 or v30, etc. Are simply based on the fact that the authors of such videos or articles do not really apreciate what a samsung galaxy note is ! I believe that most of us that love the s pen features and "boxy" body style , will NEVER look back to any other s pen less phone
If the PEN means nothing to you.. get the S8+. me .. I LOVE the PEN!
I had a note 1 and 2, and a 4, then got tired of touch jizz, and moved on to other stuff; got a note 8 after being bored with my mate 9 pro, and realizing the nexus 6 was long in the tooth..
As far as 1000 being too much for a phone, I spent many years in the consumer electronics marketplace, and I know the more the technology matures, the lower costs actually go; not that I expect ANY electronics mfg to lower prices on newer models, although if you look at t he prices of 4k tv's now, versus 3 years ago, you will understand what I mean about costs to produce dropping as time goes by; the reason phone mfgs keep raising prices is to keep consumers thinking their phones have newer and greater stuff in them every year, but, believe me, the cost to mfg these phones either stays stable or goes down over time..
anyways, we all decide what we are willing to pay for stuff, so the market forces dictate what mfgs charge; if people stopped buying apple crapple, they would lower their prices too, since they use the lowest cost labor in the world, and their raw materials are nothing to get excited about; they sell the sizzle, NOT the steak!!
I keep hearing about the Spen? If you don't use the Spen get the S8+? I do use my Spen everyday. But if I did not use it I would still choose the Note8. It's just a better all around phone than the S8+.
I was using an s8 before this and I don't use the spen at all..but trust me ..this is an awesome phone and YES very very much worth it

Is it really worth the price

Hi,
I am planning to buy a new phone. Confused between the S9 and S9 Plus. Are these phones really worth the price tag?
Thanks

It depends on what's important to you. I cherish battery life, so I went with the S9+. I also felt that size was not a huge difference.
To me, it beats out the note 8. Less weight, faster, and better battery(by far, for me anyway)

Besides the camera and screen what other difference does it have if we compare it with the s8/+ and note 8? Will the gear vr of s7 work fine with the s9/+? Please share some portrait shots from both the cameras.
Bump....
Get the note 8 I've just moved from iPhone 8 plus to the note 8 (I did get the s9 plus and returned it) speed wise it's on par , it's now got Oreo on am betting at least 24hrs of heavy use, never stutters and camera is among the best I've ever seen (I am a photographer and use Nikon DSLR) as everyday shooter it's brilliant
Very have 20% off for next few weeks , as long as it's on 12 months interest free u get 20% credit back so it's about £630 well worth the money and that's from a long time Apple fan boy

I came from the Oneplus 6 which was better than the Mi 8 and the S9+ is better than the OP6, so you figure.
The performance isn't too different ( even though the Exynos9810 is actually stronger than the SD845 in raw performance ) but the screen difference is as plain as day ( you don't even need to hold the phones next to each other to see that the screen of the S9+ kicks ass both in looks and quality ) .
Pros:
-certified water resistance
-MicroSD suppot
-a great screen
-great hardware
-a headphone jack
-fully working Pie-based custom roms
Cons:
-stock roms are lackluster
-if you crack the screen, be ready to cough up a decent amount of money ( you can pretty much get a Whitestone Dome type curved tempered glass on Aliexpress for 4$ and the cases are cheap as well --- if you actually crack a screen, you can't say protection wasn't available )
-?
I used to switch phones every couple of months because I'd find a flaw and get annoyed with it but the only annoying thing with the S9+ is that I still can't find a flaw.
So yeah, the phone is definitely worth it if you plan to unlock the bootloader and use custom roms.

Thank you very much for ur answer.
I was between oneplus 6t or s9+.
S9+ better than op6?
I don't plan to unlock and root.
I'm tired all these years rooting devices are and play with custom roms.
Is the stock rom of s9+ lag free?
How is battery life?
The deal is to give my mi8 6/64 plus 150 euros for s9+ that is 10 days old.

The stock rom isn't bad but it isn't pure Android, it's heavily skinned and Samsung was confirmed to be slowing down phones with updates.
Honestly, I'd only recommend getting an S9/+ if you plan to use custom roms on it because it's more or less "excellent hardware marred by software".
And to be honest, OP phones aren't worth the money now that the S9+ price has dropped to the one of the OP6T.
The OP6 wasn't necessarily bad, I changed it primarily because I wanted a 1440p screen, but since most people aren't bothered with 1080p screens, you might not be either.
If you ask me, it's a waste not to unlock the bootloader, but if you really don't want custom roms, Oneplus devices should satisfy you because OxygenOS is probably the best stock rom.
Other than the software ( which is solved by flashing a custom rom ) the S9+ is the best choice overall.
Probably i will stay with mi8.. I don't use wireless charging, don't care about ip rating..
The screen on mi8 is allrdy very good as all the others.
Most important thing is headphone jack and it's quality. S9+ has the best speaker system i have ever seen. With dolby it is way ahead of its game... I tried iphone 7plus for a week and boy i couldnt handle the no headphone jack... It is just cancer to me. Cant use headphones while charging(especially gaming). So i learned a lesson from this, i will never buy a phone without jack. I dont have the kind of budget to buy high quality bluetooth earbuds. Also akg buds are the best i have seen that it comes inside the box. I had razer hammerhead pro v2, akg is way better than that. I also love tuning my sound with v4a so im into sound quality more.
S9+ will rock with custom roms no matter what. I also hate notches... It is like a blank space that i cant use the screen fully.
Best things to look for before getting a phone,
Your preferences
Headphone jack
Software compatibilty and development support
Performance
Overall quality
Phone's own headphones
Overall user experiences and reviews
What you expect from a phone
Notch(it may really annoy you, so go to a store and get your hands on a demo device/i got my hands on s9+ before buying it\)
So before you make a purchase or get the device, make a list of important things for you, go and see the devices by hands, compare them, look for custom rom development(you may want to try diffrent interfaces/i like lineageos a lot\).
Dont forget that the phone you will get will be with you for a long time. Pick it like you are picking your soul mate ?.
I had note 8, it was satisfying me a lot, but when i had the opportunity to get s9+ i went for it. In my social areas, most of the people are using apple or samsung. From what i heard i never heard someone with a bad look to samsung phones. I have been using samsung galaxy devices for almost 2 years now.(my dad had note 3 and he had switched to note 8 1 year ago. He changed many phones and he is prefering Samsung more.) Some things may be a pain in the ass but if you are looking for a long term usage, i would say go for s9+. Mi8 is also nice but i prefer s9+ over it. So like i said go see both devices. Touch both devices, feel the phones and listen to what your heart says. (The phone you will pick will be your best friend. Remember that)
Edit, i forgot you had mi8 already, you can just look at other devices at the same prices. Or if your phone just suits you and gets the job done, no need to move. You can do another things for that money. It is like buying a car or buying a house for the same price. Also your deal is a good one. Just 150 euros for a 4 days old s9+... I traded my note 8 and gave 150-200 dollars more for 4 months old s9+. My phone was bought outside of Turkey, Samsung Turkey doesnt cover any warranty for phones outside Turkey and it has a big impact on second hand sales cause of no warranty. I made the choice before it was too late, if i waited longer my phone would lose more value over time. 2nd hand phones purchased outside Turkey prices are around 2600₺ while Samsung Turkey warranty covered devices prices are 3500₺. Got my s9+ for around 3900₺/I knew the seller and my relationship with him is good, he counted my device for 3000₺\( non used s9+ are like 4200-4300₺. )

Note20 Hype

Who's already thinking about upgrading their phone, according to the current informations we have about the future Note? And which phone do you want to replace it with?
I'll start: I'm a big fan of the Note series since the first one (I don't use the Spen that much, but I find the overall design and specs to be quite nice, I prefer it over the S series). I usually skip one iteration because I find on one year they add features, and the next year they fix some of the previous year's mistakes. I even had the Note7... not for long So now, even it it still rocks, I'm thinking about replacing my Note9 with a Note20, for the cameras, the display, and all that stuff. Yes I'm totally into the consumer's profile, paying the full bill for a "minor" upgrade, but I enjoy it
What about you guys?
I'm hyped!
Note 10+ here, but I got the upgrade plan or whatever through Samsung with every intention of getting this year's model.
My biggest excitement? 120Hz screen and the new colors. Improved camera as well. I'm hopeful the battery life will remain similar despite the increase in refresh rate.
I'm actually trying to find out reasons to NOT get the Note 20 Ultra and I'm not finding many so far which is a good thing.

Big bump, but the array looks way better than the S20 Ultra.
Oh Im getting it for sure, the new copper color.
Will be keeping my note 10 plus though and still even use my copper note 9 once in awhile lol.
On an S8 and have been putting off a new phone because every time I get hyped I read about what the NEXT one is going to have, most recently skipped the S20 because the 120hz doesn't work on the highest resolution, but I think the Note 20 Ultra will finally be what I drop money on. As long as I don't hear rumors of the S21 folding my laundry...

I really want to get this phone. But I gotta say I'm a little disappointed with the news being reported today that Samsung is sticking with the Exynos 990 (note the rumored Exynos 992) again for international models, while the US, Japan, China, etc get the Snapdragon 865+. There was already about a 20% difference in power between the Exynos 990 and the regular Snapdragon 865 with the S20 models, now that gap will likely be larger.
Don't get me wrong, I think I will still get the Note 20 Ultra as I'm a huge fan of the Note series and I don't think I can wait another year to upgrade from my Note 8. I just wish I wasn't going to get an inferior processor for the same high price as others are paying for the Snapdragon variant.
I'd be interested to hear what others here think about this.

The rumor also suggests a thin possibility of a "SD865+ in all markets".
If 990 continues, it will definitely be NOT my Note lol.

Likely to keep happening as people push for better cameras.
I use a case, so it won't bother me much at all.
I also hope there will be some sort of pre-purchase offer, for example a refund if you send your old device back maybe, like they did for the Note9.

the ONLY reason whoould be that Samsung will again charge us the same money for Exynos chipset eventhough South Korea, China, US and Canada will get Snapdragon 865+ which would be with 30% more powerful and more power efficient.
This means approx. 3hrs SoT more for the Snapdragon 865+ ..
And Samsung it makes it even more difficult if we will buy Snapdragon 865+ note 20 Ultra from US or somewhere else, because in EU they are not supporting warranty for the Snapdragon devices..and they neither do service where customer pays money because they don;t have the spare parts..which is awful..

I feel the same. But I'm also quite conflicted on this for another reason.
Snapdragon phones are locked down, usually they can’t be rooted, and users can’t flash custom recoveries/ROMs.
There are of course exceptions to this but the Exynos variants are definitely better for development purposes.
Now for the first 2 years that probably won't bother me as the stock software would be fine. But once Samsung no longer provides OS updates it's really nice to be able to run custom ROMs.
If only we could get an Exynos device with comparable performance to Snapdragon.

Exynos 992 on 6nm or 5nm with arm x78 architecture is the best soution as of now for Note 20 Utra
If Samsung does a really strong trade in offer (I have a Note 9) to get the price reasonable, and ideally a throw in offer like the new ear buds, I'm in. Multiple Note owner (had the Note 4, 7 and 9) and really looking forward to a camera with a real zoom and better battery life. Looks like a winner!

I read somewhere the 3 colors for the Ultra will be that new copper color, then black and white.
One with Exynos 990 & the other one with SD865+, Samsung will STILL find them to be equally performing..
And a lot will believe it too.
I went from a Note 10+ to a Oppo Find X2 Pro instead of waiting for the Note 20 series, simply for the fact that every leak was pointing to European users being stuck with a Exynos 990 & I don't regret my decision at all, Samsung themselves are so blind they that continue to argue that the Exynos 990 is on the same level as the Snapdragon 865/+, it's ridiculous and from a consumer point of view, unacceptable, we're paying the same premium price but for a worse equipped device.
Many argue that it's only noticeable in benchmarks or on paper etc. But it isn't, it affects camera performance, camera quality, gaming performance, thermal performance, app fluidity, all the important parts of a smartphone experience, Snapdragon is far far ahead.
Sorry for the rant but it's just frustrating, hopefully one day Samsung will listen, in the meantime I'll enjoy my Snapdragon equipped Oppo :good:
