Thanks it worked fine for me! (MIUI Global 9.5 Stable)

can you fix it for mi 8 pro? please!

It works on Redmi Note 6 Pro. But the status bar is slightly less than it should be. Can I have a version for Redmi Note 6 Pro, please?

Why wait if you can do it yourself?)
Adapted for Redmi Note 6 Pro.

@ztc1997 , Thanks for developing this.
I've created an autoscript which is doing this stuff almost automatically.
You can find it here. I've created the post for Mi8 Lite (which was tested with the script, but actually it's doing exactly the same as instruction of this post described, so should suite any device which is ok with the original instruction)

[Guide][17-5-2017]Hide Navigation Bar, Status Bar or both(Immersive Mode)-No App

Hi guys, i was searching for a way to hide the navigation bar without any app that will require you buying it or it consuming battery and after finding a couple of threads on the topic i thought of sharing my findings and also as a reference to go back to in case i forget how to. This is also good for eliminating or reducing screen burn caused by the bars on Amoled screens.
Credits go to @jplempka @cabegol @SmartPhoneLover
Type the following commands in adb/fastboot environment (adb shell) on your PC after connecting the phone in file transfer mode and usb debugging is on:
· Hide Status Bar only type:
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.status=*
· Hide Navigation Bar only type:
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.navigation=*
· Hide Both Bars type:
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.full=*
· Back to normal/default state:
adb shell settings put global policy_control null*
--------------------------------------------
Updates: (15/5/2017):
+ Immersive in all apps except certain apps
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.full=apps,-"app location",-"another app location"
Notes:
1. You can get the app location by going to "system/data/data" using any file browser with root, the location should start with the app folder name "com.appname"
Ex: com.whatsapp
2. Remove quotation marks(" ")when adding the location of the app also add an apostrophe(,) if you are adding more than one app and when typing the code there is no space after the apostrophe.

+ Immersive in all apps but with certain apps having Status bar not hidden
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.navigation=apps,:immersive.status=apps,-"app location",-"second app location"

By the way this method works on all rom versions i have tested it on Nougat and all commands work. Good
luck:highfive:

Updates: (17/5/2017):
Apps Identified to not play well with navigation and status bar hidden and how to exclude them(To be updated accordingly):
Apps List:
*Whatsapp(When typing the status bar needs to be there to see what others wrote at the same time)
*Wechat(When typing the status bar needs to be there to see what others wrote at the same time)
*Youtube(When typing the status bar and navigation bar need to be there)
*Hangouts(When typing the status bar needs to be there to see what others wrote at the same time)
---------------
Code: adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.navigation=apps,-com.google.android.youtube,:immersive.status=apps,-com.whatsapp,-com.tencent.mm,-com.google.android.youtube,-com.google.android.talk
---------------
P.S: If you want to use these commands directly on your phone without a PC you need first to be rooted, next use any shell terminal to insert the code but remove the "adb shell" part.
So in the terminal app for example if you wanted to hide both bars you type the following:
>su
>settings put global policy_control immersive.full=*
Thank you for this info, also I just tested it using Android terminal and it works well. I don't always have PC nearby to test things, very nice.

Cool that's another way. I don't know why we need to do it manually instead of google offering it as an option.
I would love it on as a Google option.

Just found the answer from https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-xl/themes/how-to-enable-true-immersive-modes-t3554299

Sure!
for example, if u want to enable some apps
Code:
settings put global policy_control immersive.full=com.chrome.beta,com.google.android.apps.magazines,com.medium.reader
or if u want immersive full except some apps
Code:
settings put global policy_control immersive.full=apps,-com.google.android.apps.nexuslauncher,-com.twitter.android,-com.google.android.apps.photos,-com.google.android.GoogleCamera,-com.google.android.keep,-com.android.settings
The difference is the "-" before [app full name]

In this case you can add app names or 'apps,-*app name* to enable or set full immersive except some apps

Sorry, there are a lot of threads about Adb. If you are not familiar with rooting, flashing a rom. Then i suggest you don't do this. Please don't take offense but it's better to read on those topics before attempting this.

Hi isaak, to remove the navigation bar without root you need to take the build.prop file from the System folder using adb commands "Pull" and "Push" (If you search online you will find alot of threads on how to use the command) edit the file by adding the code: " qemu.hw....." to it on your PC and then returning the file to it's place on the phone. I am sorry i can't give you a step by step on how to do this because i am travelling, if i have time i might right a tutorial on how to do this. Good Luck

Good question, we use apps like LMT launcher or GMD gesture control instead of the navigation bar which wastes a good portion of the screen. I used both and i love both of them but i think gesture navigation is the future. Now since Nougat update i stopped using both of these apps because it's a headache to simply root and change the build.prop to simply use both apps, instead i opted to hide the status and navigation bar. You should try both apps you will enjoy your phones' screen more. :good:

Get rid of MI Apps and other preinstalled apps

In the last MIUI update Xiaomi has disabled the option of disabling the notification for MI Apps which I don't want to use and don't want to see notifications from it. So, I searched the internet and found the trick.
Prerequisites:
1. PC with android SDK or Minimal ADB and Fastboot
Step 1 : Enable developer options on your phone
Step 2 : Enable USB debugging and USB debugging (Security settings) and connect it to your PC
Step 3 : Run Command Prompt as Administrator
Step 4 : Navigate to your ADB folder
Step 5 : Type
Code:
adb devices
Step 6 : then
Code:
adb shell
Step 7 : then
Code:
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.xiaomi.mipicks
or any other package name you want to get rid of
Thats it. :good:
Enjoy
Dude, big thanks for this tutorial. It was pushing notifications 5 times a day.
I won't be updating this MIUI pos henceforth
Failure [Not installed for 0] error
After performing above steps to unistall Mi Apps ..I am getting error
failure [not installed for 0]
But I was able to uninstall Mi Browser and other google bloatwares.
Also tried disabling MIUI Optimization,
Suggest If there is a option.
I am having Redmi Note 4 with MIUI 9.5
EDIT :
I was entering wrong package name.Be carefull its com.xiaomi.mipicks....that 'a' sucks
Got rid of the error.

Call it a good disable because apps will be on phone. You can't get rid of them unless you root. Misleading headline.

[Non-ROOT][All versions] Fit status bar with notch [Mi 8/Mi 8 Lite]

To fit the status bar with notch, it is necessary to change the density of the device screen
See the attached image.
Steps.
Enable "USB debugging" in "Develop options".
Enable "USB security setting" (bellow "USB debugging") (tap on yes to all).
Setup ADB on your computer with this tool
Open the ADB installation folder
Right click + shift and click on open command window here (on windows 10, type "CMD" in the upper bar and enter)
Type this and accept all permissions on the device screen:
ADB Devices
adb shell wm density 470
adb reboot
Click to collapse
Done!
It is likely that the screen aspect looks a bit different, you can fix that by adjusting the size of the font in screen options.
Thanks
or change it in developer settings ...
there is no difference
Wow u change resolution from ADB! Mama's hacker!

Thank you. I didn't know these. Is there a way to only fit the status bar , because when I change this, all the icons and text shrink. I have a theme with the icons very big, and I would like to keep it that way.
Nope
Okey so. Doesn't work.
How can I go back?

[THEME][NO ROOT][ANDROID 10] Enable Pixel themes and more with adb

Hi folks,
I've just received my brand new Xperia 1 II and I don't want to unlock the bootloader and root it.
So, I've figured out that Sony haven't removed the Pixel themes overlays from the system.
IT WORKS WITH ALL XPERIA using android 10
Here's how to activate Filled, Rounded and Circular themes.
Code:
adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.theme.icon_pack.filled.android
adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.theme.icon_pack.filled.systemui
adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.theme.icon_pack.filled.settings
Code:
adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.theme.icon_pack.rounded.android
adb shell cmd overlay enablecom.android.theme.icon_pack.rounded.systemui
adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.theme.icon_pack.rounded.settings
Code:
adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.theme.icon_pack.circular.android
adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.theme.icon_pack.circular.systemui
adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.theme.icon_pack.circular.settings
If you want to apply a new theme or come back to default theme, you have to disable previously enabled one with:
Code:
adb shell cmd overlay disable com.android.theme.icon_pack.circular.android
adb shell cmd overlay disable com.android.theme.icon_pack.circular.systemui
adb shell cmd overlay disable com.android.theme.icon_pack.circular.settings
Reboot is needed to apply the theme on lockscreen.
You can also change the color accent with this:
Code:
adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.theme.color.purple
and disable it with
Code:
adb shell cmd overlay disable com.android.theme.color.purple
Replace "purple" with black, cinnamon, green, ocean, orchid or space for other colors
If you want to change icon shape, use this:
Code:
adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.theme.icon.roundedrect
and disable it with:
Code:
adb shell cmd overlay disable com.android.theme.icon.roundedrect
Replace "roundedrect" with squircle or teardrop for other shapes.
If like me you don't like headsup notifications, you can turn them off with:
Code:
adb shell settings put global heads_up_notifications_enabled 0
Replace "0" by 1 to enable them back
Epic bro ??
wow! that's pretty cool, thank you for this

Hello. Sorry if unrelated, but have you thought about porting gcam to Xperia 1 II, since there's only very few people on XDA having access to this phone.
The Xperia 1 II camera hardware and the photopro manual camera is excellent. But the stock camera app is very lacklustre. Seeing that this phone is S865 with sensor similar to S20 Plus, it should theoretically doable. Most people just want to point and shoot and get images with great dynamic range.
Hi @niaboc79, reeeeaaaaaally good work. Thanks alot for that.
What commands do I have to type in to get a full stock Pixel experience?
And is there a way to activate an overlay that gives me an OLED black settings panel?

@niaboc79 Just got my Xperia 1 II. There is one thing that really sets me up... When I connect my phone to my Wifi 6 mobile hotspot from my computer which I use most of the time the phone connected but no internet access. Any other Wifi netfork is absolutely fine. Any ideas? I am on the latest Sony firmware flashed with newflasher v20 and then with performed a software repair with Xperia Companion. Any ideas what the problem could be?

How To Guide Force 120Hz MIUI 13 & MIUI 14

This is a thread for those who don't want to root their device to force 120Hz on every app.If you are looking for a root solution, then use the LSPosed module called MIUI Performance Saver - Download here
In this way, you can force 120Hz in applications such as: YouTube, MX Player, Google Maps and many others that run at 60Hz by default in MIUI.
You will notice the changes, but you can check it by turning on the refresh rate counter in developer options and check the changes before and after.
First method via ADB
1. In your device, in developer options, enable usb debugging and usb debugging (security settings) and connect your phone to the PC.
2. Download platform tools and extract to a folder
3. Open console in the platform tools folder
4. Enter the following command:
For MIUI 13:
Code:
adb shell settings put system user_refresh_rate 1
For MIUI 14:
Code:
adb shell settings put secure user_refresh_rate 1
If first method doesn't work for you, then try second method.
Second method via Settings Database Editor app
Download this app from the Play Store and for it to work properly, download and install this file from github (settings-database-provider.apk).
For MIUI 13:
1. Open Settings Database Editor app
2. Search "user_refresh_rate"
3. Cick on it to edit the value and replace 120 with 1 and save changes
4. Done
For MIUI 14:
MIUI 14 requires you to grant permissions to the Settings Database Provider app via ADB
1. In your device, in developer options, enable usb debugging and usb debugging (security settings) and connect your phone to the PC.
2. Download platform tools and extract to a folder
3. Open console in platform tools folder
4. Enter the following command:
Code:
adb shell pm grant com.netvor.settings.database.provider android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
5. Open Settings Database Editor app
6. Search "user_refresh_rate"
7. Cick on it to edit the value and replace 120 with 1 and save changes
8. Done
Keep in mind that it may not work because Xiaomi changes something under the hood of the updates.
I dont know what to say, force fps can cause useless battery drain on app that dont really need ... Do you really need 120hz when you send sms or making call or even messenger ... All do what they want but i wont use it

I've been using this method since I had the Poco F3 and I've never noticed that the battery was draining much because of it. I'm used to 120Hz and find it irritating to suddenly switch to 60Hz when scrolling in YouTube or some other app. I am not forcing anyone to force 120Hz on their devices.
Yeah but its most of the time at 120 btw, only you tube and tik tok seems to lower it at 60,
I miss my poco f3... They have all custom rom they want pfff, i sold to my brother ...
root and non root method doesnt work for my poco f3 with xiaomi.eu, i tried global too

Can you provide more information? Any errors when executing commands in ADB? Can't find user_refresh_rate in setedit app? It's impossible that it wouldn't work on Poco F3, because I had this device until recently (now I don't have it anymore) and both methods worked perfectly in global ROMs and xiaomi.eu.
is there any way to force it from 120hz to 60hz instantly when i stop swiping? it only works when brightness is above 50%, if below 50% it's always 120hz

This is MIUI, nothing can be done about it. You can try Magisk root + LSPosed "MIUI Performance Saver" module and force 120hz, which "maybe" will solve your problem, or you can wait for some custom rom that will hopefully come out for the Xiaomi 12T Pro someday, as long as Xiaomi releases kernel source code for this device.
I cant seem to get my ADB to work u have any guides? and there is no "console" in the platform tools folder please help me

Changing refresh rate via ADB doesn't work for me either. Xiaomi changed something in the permissions again during one of the updates. I just updated my thread, so try second method through the Settings Database Editor app, because I checked and it works for me on Xiaomi.eu weekly 23.5.22.
Very good find! I had it working on MIUI 13 but I had been waiting to get it working on MIUI 14 since forever, didn't know we had to modify the secure table for this. Also, do you know any more efficient ways to do this with root? I am always rooted.

Try with granting permission to the app. Even with that you will get an error which you can solve as follows:
How can I use adb to grant permission without root?
Background I'm trying to create an app that can grant and revoke permissions of other apps. To do this I'm using adb commands: pm grant packageName permissionName This works great if I call it

If you have root then use LSPosed module MIUI Performance Saver.
