Hi folks,
I've just received my brand new Xperia 1 II and I don't want to unlock the bootloader and root it.
So, I've figured out that Sony haven't removed the Pixel themes overlays from the system.
IT WORKS WITH ALL XPERIA using android 10
Here's how to activate Filled, Rounded and Circular themes.

adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.theme.icon_pack.filled.settings

Replace "purple" with black, cinnamon, green, ocean, orchid or space for other colors
If you want to change icon shape, use this:

Replace "roundedrect" with squircle or teardrop for other shapes.

is more grey than black in the settings menu
can you change that with ADB commands?

With root you can change everything, when I'll do my rom you'll get 8 various background colors.

Hello. Sorry if unrelated, but have you thought about porting gcam to Xperia 1 II, since there's only very few people on XDA having access to this phone.
The Xperia 1 II camera hardware and the photopro manual camera is excellent. But the stock camera app is very lacklustre. Seeing that this phone is S865 with sensor similar to S20 Plus, it should theoretically doable. Most people just want to point and shoot and get images with great dynamic range.

No since stock or photo pro auto mode works perfectly, I haven't missed one picture since day one.

No the needed overlay isn't there.
@niaboc79 Just got my Xperia 1 II. There is one thing that really sets me up... When I connect my phone to my Wifi 6 mobile hotspot from my computer which I use most of the time the phone connected but no internet access. Any other Wifi netfork is absolutely fine. Any ideas? I am on the latest Sony firmware flashed with newflasher v20 and then with performed a software repair with Xperia Companion. Any ideas what the problem could be?

i have a problem. I did execute the mtknoled.apk becoause oft some battery issues.
And the result was not gold, because my battery Problem still was not fixed, and the notification light was disabled.
Now I want my led notification work again.
Can someone help me out, with an apk which enables the led again?! Would be great!

Hi guys, i was searching for a way to hide the navigation bar without any app that will require you buying it or it consuming battery and after finding a couple of threads on the topic i thought of sharing my findings and also as a reference to go back to in case i forget how to. This is also good for eliminating or reducing screen burn caused by the bars on Amoled screens.

· Hide Both Bars type:

Cool that's another way. I don't know why we need to do it manually instead of google offering it as an option.

Sorry, there are a lot of threads about Adb. If you are not familiar with rooting, flashing a rom. Then i suggest you don't do this. Please don't take offense but it's better to read on those topics before attempting this.

You need to be rooted to execute the command within the phone.

Hi isaak, to remove the navigation bar without root you need to take the build.prop file from the System folder using adb commands "Pull" and "Push" (If you search online you will find alot of threads on how to use the command) edit the file by adding the code: " qemu.hw....." to it on your PC and then returning the file to it's place on the phone. I am sorry i can't give you a step by step on how to do this because i am travelling, if i have time i might right a tutorial on how to do this. Good Luck

Good question, we use apps like LMT launcher or GMD gesture control instead of the navigation bar which wastes a good portion of the screen. I used both and i love both of them but i think gesture navigation is the future. Now since Nougat update i stopped using both of these apps because it's a headache to simply root and change the build.prop to simply use both apps, instead i opted to hide the status and navigation bar. You should try both apps you will enjoy your phones' screen more. :good:
In CN version you can active the app list in the watch, if you have not already enabled "Launcher App List", go to "More Settings" -> "About" -> Keep clicking legal information till you see countdown to zero. Once that is done, you will have the Lab link below. Click on Lab and select "Launcher AppList". This will restart your Launcher. Now go to the Right most app from your watch face, you will see the Launcher.
This method allows you to activate the app list also on the American versions so as to use the third-party app!
Connect the watch to your computer via USB and access via ADB (install ADB Drivers as needed)
Open command prompt or shell
Enter the commands :

> /sdcard/launcher_config.ini
am force-stop com.huami.watch.launcher
After Launcher restart you can go to the Right most app from your watch face and you will see the App List.

BUT IT DOESN'T MEAN THAT ALL APPS WILL WORK.
It's only the app starter.

Hello there. I was using this metod on last 1.3.2b update and it was working.
Now i've received 1.3.3a, that should have app list by default.
But it desapparead from the watch, and also using this method, i have no more app list.
any idea?

Jun 2017 firmware 1.3.3a was supposed to include the app list as a feature.
I tried to enable it by going in to the menu > About > Legal and tapping 5 times but there was no app list in the new Lab menu.
So I tried the adb shell command and it worked.
To reverse this, do we just delete the launcher_config.ini?
Also, I tried to pull that file and look at it but couldn't:
adb pull /sdcard/launcher_config.ini c:/temp
Got no errors, but got no file in C:\temp.

I've also tried, on 1.3.3a but still not work...
Thanks to Android Runtime Resource Overlay, we can change the status bar height without ROOT.
The result is as the attached image shown.
--How to use--
Download "fit_notch_sirius.apk" and "fit_notch_hide_notch_sirius.apk" from attached files, and install it.
Reboot your phone.
Enable "USB debugging" in "Develop options", and connect your phone with your computer.
Setup ADB on your computer according to this post.
Execute the "adb shell cmd overlay enable --user 0 com.ztc1997.overlay.sirius.android.fit_notch" command on your computer.
Execute the "adb shell cmd overlay enable --user 0 com.ztc1997.overlay.sirius.miuisystemui.fit_notch" command on your computer.
Reboot your phone and enjoy.
--Known problems--
Doesn't work with Hide notch (Credit to @Trần Anh VN)
Doesn't work on Android Pie

No, it is juat a resource overlay package.

Just uninstall the app and reboot.

I'm on MIUI 10 stable (Eu), I've installed the app and executed the command via adb, then I've rebooted my Phone, but status bar didn't change. Have I done mistakes? Thanks in advance
missing this in phh gsi rom. hopefully there will be a solution for android pie. thank you for this

one thing, instead of 'adb' (on the command shell) i had to use ".\adb"

It works on Redmi Note 6 Pro. But the status bar is slightly less than it should be. Can I have a version for Redmi Note 6 Pro, please?

I've created an autoscript which is doing this stuff almost automatically.
You can find it here. I've created the post for Mi8 Lite (which was tested with the script, but actually it's doing exactly the same as instruction of this post described, so should suite any device which is ok with the original instruction)

First thing to do is to unlock bootloader and then root your device. Then go to terminal on pc and enable usb debugging. type:
adb shell
su
then copy and paste all this into the terminal window : https://del.dog/asovalisad.pl then type enter.
if you go to aida 64 it will tell you that all your sensors are working again. DO NOT REBOOT, FIX DOESN'T STICK AFTER REBOOT Tested on Pixel 3 (blueline) but it should work on every pixel. full credit to @ab123321 and @_LLJY
Add "sync"
Hey if you're touching the persist partition, you'll want to add a "sync" command to flush content out to the disk / UFS.

Thank you for sharing the script.
A suggestion to try out: put this script in init so it is initialised at each reboot.
Let us know if it works!
