Mount FTP Drive from NAS to internal storage, so it is available to every app ? - Xiaomi Redmi 5 Questions & Answers

Hello there...
As the title say:
My question is, if there is any solution to mount/map network drives (ftp) to internal storage, so it is available from every app (gallery, titanum backup...)
I have a NAS and would store my pictures and TitanumBackups there...
Can i use my stock gallery to view theses pictures? And can i do automatic Backups with TitanumBackup to my ftp?
My Redmi Note 5 is already rooted.
Thank u very much

[Q][Q-Flyer] How do I use the external (SD2) memory?

I have a HTC Flyer and have nearly filled up the sdcard memory and would like to use the sdcard2 memory.
The flyer has 16 GB of memory. The 16G of memory is partitioned into 3.9 GB internal partition and a 8.7 GB external partition (sdcard). I also have a 32 GB of exteranal removeable memory (sdcard2). The sdcard is nearly full and the sdcard2 is empty. How do I make use of the sdcard2?
For example I would like to move google play music files from sdcard to sdcard2.
Is there an app that will move the music files? Will the google play music app find the music files on the sdcard2 or is there something I have to do to force the use of the sdcard2?
I can mount the flyer on my PC and find the 2 sdcards and I can move the files from card to card. I'm just not sure if it's that simple and what rules are required as far as paths, etc are required on the sdcard2.
It seems like a simple problem that should have a well documented answer, but I haven't found any information in google searches?
An additional comment. Does the removable 32 GB card need some type of special formatting. I believe the card was format when I purchased it. Last night I erased it in the Flyer. I couldn't find an option to format it in Flyer so I formatted in my PC.

Not sure about the new Google Play app but the older one had no way to choose sdcard2 to store/use files. If they have not built this feature into the app yet than you may have to use a workaround such as this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410262
As for just your standard media files (music, videos, pictures) you would like to open via default apps on your tablet, just drag and drop from internal to external via USB or file manager. Doesn't really matter where you put them as long as you can find them. Just create a directory structure that makes sense to you.

If you just use the standard Fat32 format on the PC the card should work just fine.
Thanks for the reply.
I have another question on moving data. The Flyer has an app "locations". It stores all of the points of interest and is about 3 or 4 GB. The points of interest are located at sdcard/.data/navigator/Data/Maps/... Can I just usb drag them to sdcard2/.data/navigator/Data/Maps/... and will the locations/navgator app find the data? I don't understand how the app knows where to look for it's data and use it. Does it just know to look on both sdcards?
Sort of sucks how google messed up the mp3 files in google play music so other music player apps can't find and use them.
I tried moving the locations files it and it said the files were out of date or missing so I guess that didn't work.
My Flyer is box stock. I never took any updates because I was afraid of not being able to root if I took an update (I got burned on the EVO 4G Gingerbread update).
What is the best method to root the Flyer? Is there a ROM that will let me run apps and store there data on the removable SD card? Are you using a custom ROM and do you have a recommended ROM?

Yep. Can't move that data. The app won't find it unless you can try the link I sent you for that program that re-routes the paths but you will need root to use it.

Keeping data for apps on sdcard2 is going to cause you nothing but trouble. If that card is unmounted you may end up having to re-install all those apps for them to work. As far as I know there is not a rom that will allow this to happen. Only thing I can suggest is to get all the media files you can onto your ext. sdcard to free up some space or start using a cloud service.
If you want to root your Flyer use this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1194709 Make sure you have a qualifying hboot version otherwise you have to do some extra prep work first.
I have the same problem. I'm using a 64gb card and the tablet will not store anything on it. Mine is labeled sd-ext. It act like it needs a2sd installed to work. But that's not possible with out root.
Lame
I mostly use my SD2 card for movies. I'm not really seeing anything that uses it other than the camera, I think (there's a DCIM folder there).
I know on most other (2-sd card) android devices, you can actually switch which sd card is 1 and which is 2 by editing the vold on the device. I am not sure if this works on the flyer, and have no real reason to try this myself, but if some brave soul is willing to test it out, I can provide instructions.
PS: if anyone has already tried this, and found it lacking, please let us know before I suggest that someone do something stupid
Sorry, Have been away for a while. I would be interested in the instructions to edit the vold. Could you send me a link to instructions or the instructions. Has anyone else tried the vold change?
Thanks for the reply.

[Q] AOSP save pics in external SD?

Hi guys,
Is there a way to force the camera to save the pictures in the external SD? I'd be happy to even create a link between folders, if that was even possible. I've googled, and found modified aosp cameras for the galaxy s3, and even the AT&T galaxy s2. Is there one for our phone? Or how could it be done? I've just recorded (NOT) a beautiful sunset with time lapse. For two hours. When I pressed stop, it said it didn´t have enough space, crashed, and wasted the last two hours. And the sunset recording. It´s not the first time it bugs me about this. If I could record to the SD (32GB), all these problems would be gone.
Please please, does anybody know of any way to force to store the data straight to the SD?
Anybody?

If you have root access, install a terminal emulator. Move your files inside your camera folder to your external sd. Open the terminal and type this:
ln -sf "path to you camera folder on external sd" "path to you camera folder on the internal sd"
Hope for you this will work
Thanks for your response, Christiaan91. Yup and yup, it's installed from some other stuff I needed done. But...the way I understood this, if the memory cards are not ext2-3-4 based (fat32), you can't create a filesystem link between them, right?

mm true, fat32 doesn't support symbolic links
Thanks anyway...Does anybody know of a way to make the camera to save the pics on the external SD?
EDIT: All working! There's a modified camera/gallery apk that allows saving into the external SD!

@afridi.shahriar, I'm also this need. Can you explain in more detail about how you could solve? My native language is not English but can read and write normally.
I'm with Android 5.0.3 (Lollipop), not-root, and the app the user @Niky20000 said is not compatible with my device (MotoG 2).
I searched the forum and still can not resolve this problem.
Thank you!
I reply here because I spent a lot of time searching through very old posts and trying outdated methods. I didn't know that actually today there is a very easy solution to move whatsapp media folder to SD card. It perfectly worked on my Samsung Galaxy A3 A320FL:
1) Root (I used twrp + magisk method)
2) Download "App2SD" (the original by Vicky Bonick; it's free) and follow instructions on how to create partitions
3) Use "folder mount (app analyzer)" feature, which apparently was not considered in the old posts in this forum, so I suppose it was recently added to Apps2SD.
It's like folder mount, but it's pre-set for some common apps, including Whatsapp. With this feature, you can successfully move Whatsapp media folder to SD, in one clic.
In my case everything worked fine. When I reboot I have to re-mount folder, but it takes one second (just open Apps2SD, tap Folder Mount, slide "whatsapp other").

If you are rooted, you can move the game data by using Folder Mount or GL to SD app!!
No other way??

it occupies 1.5 gb of internal storage and the data cannot be moved to sd and that is the reason for full storage issue..if u uninstall it then u'l get full storage.and if you want that game and storage too then you have to root your phone...
I watched a youtube video...A guy had asphalt 8+subway surf+2-3 more games in his unrooted moto e still his internal storage was not full

Yes the phone supports Hindi script. Just download Hindi keyboard from play store works fine for me.
How much storage should the Moto E have from a factory reset? I've had low storage errors already and I have no games installed. I have Pocket casts set to external SD, Deezer caching to external SD and I have just a handful of other apps - Tweetings, Flickr, WhatsApp, HSBC and a few other small apps - yet I currently have just 707MB free. I'm not sure if this is normal. I tried to use Plants VS Zombies but that is just large enough to prevent many updates installing. I do wish Moto had added just a little bit more storage.
If I use an Apps To SD method will this kill off my SD card quite rapidly? I've always though that they weren't designed to be used for anything but general storage.
general usable storage size is approx 2.2 GB on internal memory.
From my perspective App2SD is safe because it only moves 'statical' files such as .apk (the app), .so (libs), .dex (dalvik-translation). Once those files have been generated they won't be altered. So future handling of those files only is read access and not write access.
So I do not really see any threat for ageing of SD-Card.
I am using Moto E from last 6months, day before yesterday I update my Moto E to Lolipop. But from that day m facing internal memory, m using only Whatsapp Share it and M-indicator thats it. But now m not able to download Facebook app, because when I try to install facebook app from playstore 1 pop up window shows on my screen that insufficient memory. So I deleted all the images videos etc from my mobile still same problem m facing... Please help.

From what all you typed, I can make it out for sure that your files are in the internal storage, whilst invisible from both Windows Explorer and any Files app on Android. Check if you can access images from WhatsApp. If you can, make a quick backup online and reboot into TWRP to check the visibility of files. If you cannot recover any data, I'd suggest you to clean flash your device after clearing your Internal Storage with F2FS format to fix bad sectors. This would help you prevent any such errors in future.
