It's funny because that option wont do anything on the lg g5 as the screen resolution feature is only compatible for the lg g6, v30, g7 and so on. Cause looking that the image it's says 1440 x 720 which for the record is HD 18:9

Screen resolution problem

I'm having a very annoying problem with my honor 7 Eu.
Rooted and on B170 no mods, no xposed.
Basically I tried to use themer and it wouldn't load any themes. This is because my screen resolution isn't supported. Since 1920 x 1080 is supported I thought the very weird.
I checked with an app and I found out that my screen is showing up as 4.9in and with a resolution of 1794 x 1080!!! WTF

That's because of the navigation field.

I figured that but it's still not great since we cant use certain apps (like Themer) and dont all phones have nav bars .... those other phones don't have that problem!

Q: LG V10 with 1080p screen?

I was wondering if anyone knew a way to turn the 2k screen the V10 has into a 1080p in order to save battery life, and better performance?
Not at the moment, especially because of the 2nd Screen and changing DPI or Resolution forces FCs. Once we finally get the Nougat update we would be able to switch between 1080p and 1440p

Camera app - no slo mo video?

Recently got an honor 8 FRD-L09 running droid 7 and emui 5 can't find a slo mo option in the camera anywhere.
I've turned off the wide aperture, tried all the resolution options, tried stabilizer on/off but still can't see any slo mo anywhere... what am I missing?
Try swiping from the left to see all of the available modes.
Swipe from left to right you will see it
Yes, the same in my honor 8.
Swiping left..i can't find this mode.

Yes, with b389 (that add watermark and monochrome mode)
B386 here (updated August 3rd) - no slow-motion, gain monochrome mode
Maybe this is because of the update. Maybe it's removed from EMUI. (idk) @Rommco05 know anything about it?
I took 1st image from reddit, camera modes in marshmallow I guess. The second one is screenshot from my phone. I remember correctly that before the latest firmware update I saw slow-mo but no monochrome, now it's the other way around.
Slo-Mo is available up to 409 dpi. If you have set "Smallest width" in Developer settings to a larger number it will not show in the camera options

Damn, I have 480.
Any idea of a 3rd part app to record slomo?

Not my finding. I just saw it in another thread and share it with you.
@frisky_bg

where is the sense?
Beats the sh.t out of me.
Doesn't make any sense to me too, but it's a fact, unfortunately...

App-Scaling broken in Oreo

I'm on the unlocked V30 latest Oreo update 20e.
Is it just me or is App-Scaling not showing all of the apps? It's only showing a small fraction of all of the apps installed. I wouldn't mind except for one thing: When an app updates you often have to set it back to full screen again. Does LG have any plans to fix this?
Has anyone found a way around it? If I can find a way to force 18:9 ratio for all apps I will be happy.
I have the same issue, lots of apps are missing from the App Scaling list. I do a lot of gaming especially emulation and I really need to force some of them that do not have good support for 18:9 like mupen64plus fz to 16:9.

Missing Google Camera Smart Burst

Am I the only one really pissed off by the removal of Smart Burst capability from Google Camera in our Pixel 3 in Android 10?
I just can't believe it... So useful thing, just removed supposedly in favour of Top Shot, which is something that covers just part of what you could do with Smart Burst.
Google, I can't believe it...

Nope, you're not the only one pissed off about it.
Sent from my Pixel 3 using XDA Labs
Glad to know.
Just found out and I am super pissed.
Worst part, I can't roll back because the USB port on my pixel 3 has been dead.
This is very messed up! I use the 3 takes a lot of sport action photos. That 1.5 sec via Top Shot is not enough time.
This update is total BS!!!

It seems in Android 10 there isn't available the remove updates option from the app info. Real bummer!

it was such a useful feature. top shot just doesn't have enough frames!
You buy a phone with a set of features... and less and a year after, Google just removes one of them... I still can't believe.
They didn't remove the uninstall updates feature, but it's instead hidden underneath the overflow menu on the app info page. You can revert the app back to the version which still includes Burst photos.

Right, or you can just uninstall it from google play which will set the version having the burst mode enabled :good:

Nope not the only one... I miss this feature a lot. As long as the quality of the "Top shot pictures" is lower than a "normal picture" (which is the case at the moment) it's no replacement for "Smart burst"..... :/
Is there a way to have the version with Smart burst still in and the latest version of the camera app installed at the same time ... Then I could at least choose the old version whenever I want to use Smart burst.
Smartburst restored!
Pixel 2 XL: I went to the Google play store and found the Google camera. I hit the "uninstall" button and Smartburst is back without losing the other updates.
Hope this works for others!

If you are okay with moded gcam, you can try the PX camera by cstark27. It has an option to Restore smart burst.

The feature wasn't really removed. They just changed how you access it. Simply press and hold the shutter button and it records a video. The video records up to 30 fps and then you can select the single frame from that recording and save it as a photo with hdr processing applied. Enjoy!
It was not that way when burst mode dissapeared... You're replying a rather old topic.
Thanks anyway.

Hi! I had just been uninstalling camera updates to get smart burst back, which worked until I updated my Android OS. So I just installed PX camera (the most recent version for Pixel 2), and I don't see an option to restore smart burst. Would you mind pointing me in the right direction to find the setting in the PX mod? After ruining a bunch of Christmas photos/videos by trying to use top shot (thinking it was just video recorder), I've spent a few hours this evening trying to fix this camera. No luck. I'd appreciate any additional help! Thanks!

I found it under the PX Mod settings just right under the 4k Time Lapse option. Though, I've never use the smart burst feature before, so I can't really tell you if it's working.

Thanks for your quick reply! I'm not seeing that OR the 4k Time Lapse option on my 8.1 version (the one recommended for the Pixel 2). I may have to try another version of PX Mod and see if it's there. Though my camera speed has greatly slowed down since I installed it, so I may just uninstall. (Or it slowed down since the forced update that came with android... not sure which one.)
Thanks for the help!

Oh, you beautiful human, Xeust! I followed a link on an old thread from October 2019 and installed that version of PX Mod. Not sure what the file version was, but when I go to "About," I have version 4.2 of PX Mod now, and I see the Smart Burst option right where you said it would be. I turned it on, and it appears to be working! Can't wait to test it in action on my kid. Thank you so, so much! I don't have to quit buying Google products now.
