Change BOOTANIMATION on Poco F1 - Xiaomi Poco F1 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hello everyone, sorry for my bad english..
Here is a tutorial to change the bootanimation easily.
In a root file explorer (Es Explorer for exemple), go to system> media :
1° - rename the file "beryllium_global_bootanimation.zip" in "beryllium_global_bootanimation.zip.bak"
- rename the file "beryllium_india_bootanimation.zip" in "beryllium_india_bootanimation.zip.bak"
- rename the file "bootanimation.zip" in "bootanimation.zip.bak"
2° Choose a bootanimation file in .zip (for example https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3028130&d=1416670021)
>>> Preview : http://www.christiantailor.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/ComicCharcters480.gif
3° Paste and rename this file in system> media in "beryllium_global_bootanimation.zip"
4° Change permission as rw--r-r
5° Reboot and look at your new bootanimation

This isn't recommend though, this action is not-reversible if done wrong. Poco F1 isn't unbrickable.

Lol. This way has been used since android 2.1 to change bootanimation. The only thing what can happen if doing wrong is bootloop. You can simply reflash your ROM and you will get stock one then. But honestly I don't know what you can do wrong here.

You can revert via twrp, using the explorer and changing the names of the files

If not this method, can i use the normal flashable zip method and use any boot animation?

Are there any magisk modules to do this?

This magisk module also change camera watermark from "POCOPHONE F1" to *POCO F1"

FYI, Changing splash screen(Poco logo screen without 'powered by android' logo) isn't recommended. Changing boot animation is extremely safe and hardly it soft bricks which is easily recoverable.

FYI changing boot animation is barely noticeable . The device takes just one sec to boot after the poco splash screen.

OP should have wrote somewhere that this guide only works on MIUI to let others know that this isn't how you change boot animation on custom roms

On custom ROMs you change bootanimation.zip

Can not find these files. Only the bootanimation.zip which basically does nothing. I'm on latest miui EU.

in my pocophone f1 global edition with miui 10 Global 8.12.13 Beta bootanimation are (as Mix Explorer root say) located at "ROOT / System / Media / Theme / Cust_config / Global and India folder"...
changing the bootanimation.zip inside global folder will display a 2 second custom bootanimation... i don't find where poco splashscreen is located or the file name... any advice?

hi guys
an someone analize the logo file located at root / dev / block / by-name/ logo and check if is related to splash screen? i'm not so skilled with this work... tnx

How to apply bootanimation with twrp without root? Thanks

this method is not working for me as there are three different folders in which the bootanimation.zip file is situated 1st one be the device>system>media and the 2nd and 3rd one are in device>system>media>theme>cust_config>india and global folders
i have tried changing them all but it didnt work any kind of help is much appreciated thanks!

It works for me. I just changed the one in media and global, and no problem. Pocophone boots faster without the custom animation, though.

so is this safe or not ? and does it work with miui and custom roms as well?

Safe for me, using with Miui global developer ROM. I also did it on an AEX , AOSP, Bootlegger roms on other phones.

If you see "POCO" on the screen while booting change the "bootanimation.zip" in /system/media/theme/cust_config/India/ folder and if you see "POCOPHONE" on the screen while booting change the "bootanimation.zip" in . . . ./cust_config/global/ folder.
It's working fine, maybe issue with your bootanimation.zip file.

Yes u can use any bootanimation which has boot sound already.... Open that zip.... And edit it according to need...easy way....
Hope this helps.
Do you maybe have a link to one ?
EDIT:
By the way,if i need to move some stuff (ex: the mp3 sound) to the system/media folder then i'm screwed because i can't move any file with root explorer to that folder : /
(Yes i have root and already tried to install an SD Card Xposed module, but it still doesnt work)
Use es explorer and enable root explorer and click on the button /option there u find options one of them is mount r/w click on it and set root or system to write mode... DONE..
Xperia z lollipop bootanimation has sound..search it...
If u not find ask me i will upload it later...
Nope,can't find that boot animation.

I swear I'm not just trying to be ignorant or beat you up here by saying this, but I just thought it was kind of funny because you basically just asked a question and then answered yourself all in one sentence. Anyway to answer your question (again lol) though, yes you do need to have root in order to do this because without it the directory where the files need to be pasted will be "read only", and you will not the have the access needed in order to change it. Hope it helps [emoji106].

I came from the note 5 and the were severeral roms and an aroma zip that totally modded the way androids looked just starting up. No lg. no t mobile. no triangle. I wish i even knew how to start out or who to pass the information along to. To have some overall pleasant experience.

I recently created a nice boot animation for the Honor 8, but I don't have an Honor 8. In fact, I have a Samsung, so I'm unable to test it since the formats are different. I just need someone with an Honor 8(1080x1920 display) who can test this for me and let me know if it plays properly(ie. the timing is right, etc.) before I post it.
To test YOU MUST HAVE ROOT, a custom recovery like TWRP installed & some experience with flashing zips and backing up your device in case you need to restore. Much appreciated. Thank you!

Oh I wish I could help mate. I'm keeping my phone as stock for now but I'm sure that I will root before long.
When I do I will help with all the testing that you need.
I'm sure you will soon have a line of people ready to test.
Thanks for putting the effort into our phone.
Just one question.
Why the Honor 8 if you don't own one ?.

Ok. Does anyone know why you can't change the boot animation on the Honor 8 and Honor 7? It seems that even with root and TWRP it's still preventing this rather simple change. I had someone test my animation on their device and it flashes fine, but it doesn't change the animation for them, even when replacing the bootanimation.zip file with the proper permissions manually. I make animations all the time, so it should work just fine, but what could it be that's not allowing the change? Any ideas? :/
UPDATE: The person testing for me just tried deleting his bootanimation.zip completely and rebooting and it still shows the stock boot animation on boot, so there must be a master copy that it keeps copying from somewhere that's writing over my animation on boot. Any help? Ideas? :/

The boot animation on the Honor 8 is located in the following directories depending on the device:
/version/special_cust/FRD-L04/hw/usa/media
/version/special_cust/FRD-L09/hw/usa/media
/version/special_cust/FRD-L14/hw/usa/media
If you remove the bootanimation.zip located there it seems to default again to /system/media/
So if you're making a twrp script, you may want to try having it remove the bootanimation.zip located in /version/special_cust/FRD-L04/hw/usa/media

I wonder if I can just have it replace the animation in both locations, making a zip for each(L04, L09, L14, etc.) If I could identify which variants have which FRD folder, then maybe I could just list the files as such.

It really isn't that complicated. Huawei ignored using /system/media and instead made their own directory (aka special_cust) which contains bootanimations. Each device has a product name/number (aka FRD-L04, FRD-L14, FRD-L09, etc). The folders in there correspond with the product name/number of each region specific device. So, I have a FRD-L04, so my folder is /version/special_cust/FRD-L04/
My suggestion however was to simply remove the FRD-L## folder inside /special_cust/, then just apply your bootanimation to /system/media. This way it'll work on any device.

The guy who was testing for me actually had an Honor 7, but said he tried replacing my animation with the Huawei folder one and ended up in a bootloop. His folders were a little different though. I think his was in the "etc" folder, but it kind of had me wondering if those folders maybe need to be there. Maybe I just need to replace the one in special_ cust. If I made you one that just replaces the L04 one could you maybe test it for me?

Here are my observations: The "PowerOn1.ogg" worked, but played a different sound upon booting—the 2015 Samsung boot up sound, plus my phone converted the .ogg file by itself—and if I try to change it, I'm gonna have a silent boot. Weird, huh? I assume this is a problem with the ROM
Update #1:
I tried the Lollipop boot up sound of the Note 4, and it works. I'm thinking the S8 and beyond boot up sounds will never work on Refined Nougat. Hope there's a way to fix that.

That happened to me too. If i change any ui sound name it wont work, its just silence. I tried to use huawei boot sound but because name is different phone didn't recognize the sound. Maybe Samsung did something with coding where it recognizes certain words Samsung put in. I dunno. Try downloading the s8 sound from different site. Maybe that'll help.
P.S i got those sounds from GraceRom
P.S #2 Okay this is weird. I downloaded the s8 sounds from different threads and none of the poweron.ogg worked. Only Poweroff.ogg worked. Im on marshmallow so its not a nougat bug.

1. I'll clarify something: Remember the "PowerOn1.ogg" that I mentioned? I didn't leave it like that and paste it on the UI folder, but I renamed it to "PowerOn" to replace my current boot sound. The one from GraceROM (AKA what you provided) works, but my phone converts it into a 2015 boot sound, which is bemusing if you ask me.
2. I tried flashing the S8 boot sound on Nemesis Refined (6.0.1), and it works on my mom's unused Note 4. But if I flash it on Refined Nougat, it doesn't. So I I'm still believing that Refined Nougat may have the blame here to why the S8 boot sound won't work.

Moto G8 power BOOTANIMATION

Hi to all, I've got a xt2041-3 stock rom, rooted with magisk and with twrp;
I'd like to change the bootlogo (to cover the warning advice), and the bootanimation (I hate the stock one).
All the info tell me to replace the bootanimation.Zip file, but i cannot find it in root/system/media (i see onli a wallpaper folder).
I've tried also to flash some bootanimation, le dialogue confirm the correct installation, but at the reboot nothing is changed....
OT: @Admin, it miss a moto g8 power folder in the motorola devices thread.
I've found (i think) the correct path: System/product/media where i finally can see the bootanimation.zip to replace, but i cannot change the permissions to operate on the file..

The system partition cannot be mounted as read/write. They there is technically a way, but it requires lptools built for Android, and I don't have a copy of it. I believe lptools is included in Phh's Android 11 GSI.
So the tips of the bootanimation file replacing is not working with the g8 power? Any suggestions? Tnx!
