Android 8 but emui 5 - Honor 8X Questions & Answers

Hi all, I have searched the internet for some time for an answer to this question but o haven't found one. I figured I would ask it here where you guys seem to know everything there is to know about phones!
I have an honor 8 which is running Oreo but seems to be stuck on emui 5.0.1.
Ever since Oreo rolled out my phone has been pretty buggy and I've tried everything I know to update emui to a more recent version in hopes that this would help but I don't seem to be able to force an update.
Am I stuck with emui 5 due to the age of my phone or does anyone know a way I can update it?
Many thanks, Matt

I am not facing any problem like this after the update I suggest to reinstall your firmware & do a factory reset....
24.80 mb update fixed the bugs but no lollipop for grand 2
Guys 24.80 mb update was a clever update by samsung as they were planning for big os upgrade for this device but due to huge number of devices releasing every year, hence they were unable to provide the upgrade and just sorted the bugs with this minor update. You may say its the last grand 2 update. Here is the source website:https://www.justaboutphones.com/samsung-galaxy-grand-2-grand-prime-mega-2-lollipop-update-cancelled/

[Request] Specific OxygenOS wallpaper needed

Hi everyone!
I'm looking for a wallpaper that was available on OOS. It's a dark wallpaper with some blue led like glowing thingies in it.
Couldn't find it on Google, everywhere I searched I could only find the basic OOS walls, except that specific one that I need.
I'm on cm right now, so don't want to go back to OOS just to retrieve that wall. Can anyone who's on OOS find and post that wall here? Thanks a lot.
look here https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B09n02sj2PO2YnIxTk9pTHFWWTA/view
Is this the one that you're talking about ?

What's new in Android 7 (V521)

Instead of us who have upgraded to 7.0 having to rediscover the tablet over again maybe we could share here of what we found is new in 7.0
Two things I've noticed so far that were pleasant surprises were that my Harry Potter Lego year 1-4 game now doesn't crash on boot. Also now double tapping the Recent button switches between current and last used app!
LG gave up on their emoji and just used Google's.
The New Update Has a Nougat Styled Notification Look instead of LG's Skinned Notification, Lock Screen Looks Better, and It Has A Different Multitask Page, so basically UI Changes And Performance Tweaks

Some apps could be moved to the External memory without any ADB command to use the external memory as internal, as you can see in this picture

I've noticed that my V20 and the G PAD have the same version of LG SmartWorld. The the theme option isn't there in the the app or settings in the tablet. I would tinker on it myself but 1. I'm not a dev 2. It's not paid off.

Persona 5 Themed Splash and Boot Animation.

Hello guys, I'm currently playing this game and I think its design is incredible, and I thought why not try to customise my phone based on this?
Voila, this is the result I achieved:
Bootanimation:

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Splash Image:
images upload
How to install:
For the bootanimation, you will need to copy the zip into /system/media directory.
For the splash, you will need to flash the zip.
(it may show an error 6, try to mount the system in twrp and flash again, in my case even with the error 6 it worked just fine).
P.S. The quality may not be the best, but it was the best I could find myself.
If you have a higher quality image or gif i'd love to update it with yours.
Also the preview is just to preview and doesn't totally represent the quality you'll get on your phone. (it looks different on my pc now that I see the thread from there)

There isn't one, in alternative you can use the 3/16 alfawise h96 pro plus q9377 that will work but there is a bug in wi fi connection that is constantly disconnecting, i got my hands on the 7.1.2 for the entertainment box h96 pro q9377 older models i'm going to flash it soon and let you know the outcome but for now the best for that device that i know of is the stock that comes in it

I installed rom 7.1.2 MBOX , NHG47L20170808 test-keys, ok
until someone makes a rom on XDA this is really the best option, the same guy made a android tv version as well, but this is really the best:
