How to install Pixel 3 launcher apk on a Pixel 2 xl? - Google Pixel 2 XL Themes, Apps, and Mods

I have tried to install the apk on my Pixel 2 xl, but it won't go through. Is there a way without root?

There isn't, but even with root, you shouldn't do it. I've tried several methods, but it's pretty broken. With Android P, Pixel Launcher is responsible for the multitasking menu (App Overview), and with the leaked Pixel 3 launcher apk, that's completely broken.
TL;DR: Don't try it, it's broken.

Just update your phone to Pie, it's the same launcher

For some reason on Pie you can't install some APK's like pixel bridge for rootless pixel launcher or the lean launcher companion apk. On the google support chat they told me it's a security feature. I had no problem on 8.1

Yes, it did work!

IDK why you have problems but everything works fine, any Pixel 3 XL app worked, even the Actions Services

I'm on stock 4.3 MK2, is it okay to install the Google Experience Launcher?

From this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2506488
And can I just install the GoogleHome.apk from that link or do I also need the PrebuiltGmsCore.apk and Velvet.apk?
I'm finally sick of the Samsung default launcher, and absolutely love the Google Experience launcher on my Nexus 7 and don't want to buy or pay for any of the other 3rd party launchers that people sometimes talk about.
So am I good just installing GoogleHome.apk or should I wait until Verizon finally releases 4.4 on the phone so I can download the google experience launcher the correct way from the play store?
Well, I tried it, Just installed the GoogleHome.apk and I have the launcher and everything seems to be working.
Go for it. I put it on a few weeks ago. It rocks. I have had no issues at all. Matter of fact, I put the Xposed GEL Settings and Unicon apps on there as well and love it even more now that I can change the grid size and icons.

[Q] Real Me1 Google Feed Option

So, I was looking for a decent budget phone to act as a backup for my PXL 2XL. Was eying the red 6 GB, 128 GB for long and just got it yesterday.
Installed a P Launcher, and till now all looks good.
However, for the life of me, I am not able to turn on the google feed? I did go into the google app, and set "Yes" to the Show Feed option. But, nothing happens on the home screen.
What am I missing?
Which launcher are you using?
Try searching for rootless pixel launcher on XDA or ruthless launcher (non pixel)
You can use Lawnchair along with Lawnfeed from the Play Store. No root needed

Google feed on Poco F1?

Guys i am coming from Nexus 5 and pretty much used to google feed as my daily news driver. However, i do not seem to find a way to get it show up on my app vault (left drawer). I understand i can open Google app and see my feed but was wondering if there is a way to have it on left swipe like its available on stock android?
Also, anyone able to install and use RootlessPixel launcher on their Poco F1? I tried but could not get the intended UI as shown in youtube videos for other phones.
Thanks in advance!!!
i use nova launcher with nova google companion to get the result you want...
Use Lawnchair V2.
Lawnchair V2 works great for me

Me too.
I will suggest smart launcher 5 it helps to keep icons near your thumb and fingers so that u need not to jump to top of the big screen again and again
im using nova launcher pro version. Superb and love it!
Nova launcher pro... No question ask
The New Hyperion Launcher Pro it is. it´s from the substratum devs, has all i need looks great and has awsome customization!
and with the hyperion dock addon you get google feed on the left side swipe. it has a beta tree and updates come constantly.
I like this Launcher more then Nova Pro and i used nova launcher quite long maybe 4 years. try it out guys, y´all have nothing to loose it has a free version too!

You need to get a vivo account which requires a chinese phone number you can get at onlinesim.ru/en for a few cents (paypal possible). After adding the vivo account in the account menu in settings you can activate "allow the launcher to be replaced" in more settings / security and then change it at security / device manager and reboot.
But I don't know if this is necessary in the global version... Does anyone know?
P.S.: Here is a video describing how to change launcher: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOCLSUugXf0
No, this procedure is not required for the global version.
You can replace the stock launcher without any problem.

I installed the rootless pixel launcher from the play store and it only worked for a few hours and now will not load? I have the Global version of Nex S.
Update: After deleting and reinstalling and rebooting it seems to be holding fine.

Are you using the stock launcher? This happened with the MS launcher for a while.

No, I was asking if you are using the default 1+ launcher, which apparently you are.
I was referring to alternative launchers (home screen) such as Lawnchair, MS, Nova, and others.
looking at the play store reviews ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.oneplus.launcherlooking ) it seems you aren't the only one with issues.
try a different launcher

Thank you for your answer. The link does not work for me... Which launcher do you recommend?
Nova has a huge fan base and is well liked
I haven't used Lawnchair for a while, but it used to be very pixel like
I've been using the MS launcher for several years because I like how it handles the app drawer and home buttons.
Try various ones. If you don't like it just go to settings/default apps, change the Home app back to OnePlus then delete the one you didn't like and try another.
Okay I have recieved an update because phone is not mine, but the owner of the phone already tried changing the launcher to google now launcher. It did not fix an issue. And just to add something to the post the shortcuts are missing after every reboot of the phone and not after updates it was my bad at the first post.
Sorry, of it is happening with the Google launcher and the OnePlus launcher after each reboot try asking in the OnePlus community
