Any suggestions for best quality Fast Charge Type C cables? - Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 Accessories

Hello all, I am sitting here waiting on delivery of my S4 LTE and watching the progress on the courier map, I am 104 and the van is currently on drop off 42.
To salve my impatience I am researching Type C cables, this is a new subject for me, and I wonder if anyone has experience of Ravpower, Anker, Aukey and (the new kid with great Amazon reviews) Volutz. Or any other worthwhile make.
This does seem to be a quite technical subject and with dire consequences if a poor choice of made. Amazon Reviews is replete with experiences of burning, melting and flames. Best to avoid!
It would help if Samsung themselves were to supply an optimal cable, but seemingly they don't.

Anker PowerLine+. Best cables out there in my experience. I've got 2 micro USB and 3 type C. Micro USB already outlasted any other cable I've had. Type C probably is a forever cable. Watch out as they come in USB 2 and 3 variants.

By brand reputation alone, I would definitely say Anker. I don't trust Aukey at all. Their products seem subpar, and they flood the Slickdeals forums with obvious shills posting their products and upvoting the posts. I have a ravpower wireless charging pad, and that seems pretty good. But everything I have from Anker has always been high quality. Their customer service is also excellent. Hold on, lemme cash this check. Just kidding.

I would check out Benson Leung's Google Page, https://plus.google.com/+BensonLeung As he is the go to guy with regards to USB Type-C charging cables. In fact Amazon actually banned a few USB Type-C cables based on his reviews.

A few weeks ago, I bought two of these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0718Z1MWF/
They are well made. They do support Power Delivery and video, as claimed. I used one to attach an Asus Zenscreen (DisplayPort over USB-C) to my S4. At the time I bought them, they were among the best priced cables that supported everything over USB-C. However, it seems that the Anker cables are now on a Black Friday sale for less.

Benson also has a reviewer page on Amazon. However, he hasn't posted a new review since May 2017.

Replacement Wall Charger

I've kept up with all the research and debate on the best charger/cable combinations for the galaxy note 3 and i'm happy with the charging results from the charger that comes with the note 3, but I need an additional charger. The best I can gather from others is that some are able to use their tablet chargers as well as some miscellaneous other chargers with mixed results to get the faster charging. I've also noticed that almost every non-OEM "fast charger" sold is marketed and designed for the ipod/ipad/iphone, which decreases the power for non-Apple devices.
Does anybody have a direct link or a suggestion for an affordable stand-alone charger that I can purchase for the Note 3? The OEM charger runs $25+ on sale and i'm hoping to find something less expensive.

Your best bet is just to shop around on Amazon, as there are tons of viable options available there that will leave you more than satisfied with your purchase. I would sit here and type out answers to all your question(s), but this has been covered before. Actually, I participated in a thread very similar to this one and since it's nearing 3:00am and I'm exhausted, I'll just point you in that direction instead. :good: Anyway, here's the link to the thread from last month, and here is MY post in that thread based on products that I purchased and am still using on a daily basis.
To sum it all up in a quick "Cliff Notes" form, I bought the AmazonBasics 2.1 amp charger from Amazon and it performs exactly the same as the OEM Samsung wall charger, except it's only a fraction of the cost of the OEM Samsung. You can pick one of the AmazonBasics 2.1 amp chargers for $8.99 here ------> AmazonBasics Wall Charger with USB Outlet (2.1 Amp Output) I hope this helps you a little bit in finding what ya need! :good::good:
Looking for one too.
I have the Hong Kong model and it comes with the UK plug.
Big, ugly and don't need/want it if I am not in UK.
It is removeable (the UK part) so there should be a EU, USA etc pins that will fit it but don't know where.

I'll try this out. I read the thread you reference, but then somebody posted a review on amazon that said they still ended up with slow charging on the Amazon Basic unit, so I got cold feet. I'll just give it a go. Thanks.

Yeah, as inexpensive as the AmazonBasics charger I referenced for you is, you should just try it out for yourself. As many people that have bought this charger and have had a great experience with it, in my opinion it's well worth at least trying it for yourself. If for some crazy reason you happen to get a "lemon," you're only out less than $10, so not too big of a deal really. I highly doubt that's gonna happen though lol. I use mine every single day. I actually split time between the OEM charger and the AmazonBasics 2.1amp charger, as I have two chargers(1 OEM and 1 AmazonBasics 2.1amp) at home and another charger(At work I use a second AmazonBasics 2.1amp charger that I purchased from Amazon after seeing how well the first one I bought compared to the OEM Samsung charger that came with the phone.) at work. :good:

[Review] CHOETECH Micro USB Cable with Current Voltage Monitor (3.3ft/1m)

Would just like to share with everyone a good quality and very useful tool I've recently got hold of.
I've had and used a few different Choetech products and the quality is always amazing, the presentation when the products are delivered gives them a premium feel even though they are quite a reasonable priced product. I would say the quality rivals that of anker and aukey.
The cable itself works with any USB A charger and any device with a micro USB port, a USB A-C cable is also available for those who have a USB C device. The cable is just plug and play, once u connect to a charger the display lights up and when the device is connected you get readings.
I tried this cable with a few different devices and chargers but I found it especially useful for testing how good the fast charge chargers we're when using a galaxy s7, even though the s7 shows fast charging I found different chargers would give me more current at 9v.
For anyone interested in a good quality charging cable that is also interested in seeing just how good there chargers are this is a perfect product. I've also used the cable to transfer data to and from my phone as I wondered if this would be effected and I'm happy to say it wasn't.
For anyone in the UK interested I've got discount codes that are valid till the 31st of jan that make these or the USB C version £6 each. Hope someone finds these useful.
Code 5M9WY7AX

They do now!~
I just ordered and received one of these things to finally have one for monitoring. This thing was great and has actually taught me a few things i didn't already know. For one, I didn't realize that fast charging stopped the second I turned on the screen of the phone! That's right these phones jump back to regular 5volt charging when the screen is on. The second the screen goes off it's back to 9 volts.. Good to know when you are trying to maximize the charge rate. Anyways.. i digress.
So far this puppy has been accurate. I have used it on my S7 Edge as well as my htc 10 with a choetech micro to C adaptor. I am able to monitor and track the various stages of quick charging without disturbing the phone's charging. This cable seems to be well made and doesn't seem to be cheap. The display is solid and bright.
I attached some extra pics showing the display toggling between charging current and voltage. If you are looking for a simple USB current monitor with some forward capability I would recommend taking a look at this one.
For $16.99 shipped on Amazon Prime it's not a bad deal

Feedback on USB type C cables for the S9

I just got my S9 yesterday, and need a few cables for the car, office, etc. The Samsung OEM is pretty expensive, so I'm looking into Anker ones. I've used Anker products before without problems. Does anyone have any feedback on Anker or other brand, type C cables that work well with Samsung phones? Thanks!
In the same boat, first C device in the house, 2x s9
I started with the anker adapter 2 pack. Looking at the usb3 powerline anker, the plus look thicker, good or bad, not sure. Been a few years since i bought cables. Just looking for fast charging myself,
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AHKYIRS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I bought this 5 pack of cables for my G6 and I have used them fine with the S9 in the car.
There is a 6' cable (for work), three 3' (one each in both cars with spare I don't know where), and the 1' is used with my portable charger.
they work fine, are braided and thick.
http://a.co/cwHCYPy
i got the belkin ones since they ended up being $8 each with best buy 3 accessory discount promo. problem is they are 6ft, little long for in the car imho. seem to be pretty good quality, says 2 year warranty
I finally received my Anker cables, and they work as they should. Good product for the price.
In case anyone wants to try them, they're the Anker PowerLine USB-C to USB 3.0 Cable (3ft) with 56k Ohm Pull-up Resistor.

I've been using those same cables. Working very well for me, too. Check out the links here for reviews of other good USB-c cables:
https://www.google.com/search?q=usb.....69i57j0l4.8680j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
I got these - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01LYW4WIY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 by Choetech. They are great quality and fast charging works.
I'm using anker. They are very good.
Still really happy with the Choetech cables after a couple of months. One of them did bring up a "moisture detected" message a couple of times but they all seem fine now.
Aukey 3 pack on Amazon. No issues. One gets baked in the car. One gets beat up at work. One at home. OEM cord is still in the box.
This has been my favorite cable to date. Long, braided and the ends have a stress relief part of rubber to connect the cable and connector.

Not advised since the length of the cable drops the voltage, but I use these to make 20ft C to C cables...
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071WW2K47/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Have a shed load of good USB cables so got these from Amazon. Have one good C cable and use my old cables for everything else, with the little chain you can leave them attached to the cable and they don,t get lost.

What USB C cords are you guys purchasing to charge your OP6T?

This is my first USB C device so I don't have a lot of information if I should be just purchasing random USB C cords on Amazon to charge my OP6T at work. Any suggestions or information on what type of cord I should get would be helpful. I would like to purchase 2-3 cords in different lengths if possible (one for work as mentioned, one for the car, and one for my battery pack).
USB c has been out long enough to trust the reviews of them on Amazon. Just check the ratings and read some of the reviews
I'll put in a high vote for anything Anker.

I have a USB-A--> USB-C cable from Anker. Definitely can't complain.
I have been using the Aukey cables without any issues so far. Get the longer ones for data and the shorter ones if you are only using it for charging.
I've had a couple that worked fine elsewhere but would not dash (yeah I now they lost the right to use that name) charge my OnePlus devices, I'd read the reviews and make sure you're ordering something that's going to leverage your charger. I've got a couple older OnePlus cables in the drawer which I'm assuming will work but I cant prove it until the 6th.
If you want fast charge you have to use the originals. If you want spares you can get some in AliExpress for a reasonable-ish price.
If you want cables to use with batteries or don't care about fast charge, I find that TOPK cables are pretty good, cheap too. They usually come in several colours, have cord and are pretty flexible.
An engineer at Google, Benson Leung, took it upon himself to test many cables for standards compliance. I cannot get his site to load, but I found this article that lists some of his approved cables. http://buyandroidchargers.com/list-of-benson-leungs-usb-c-google-engineer-usb-c/
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00S8GU544/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_dkTJBbN069J3Z
Based on the recommendation here https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/accessories/ordinary-usb-cables-support-dash-t3838411
I wanted a longer cable to plug into my computer, as well as a couple of additional cables to charge at work and in my car. I am also purchasing the OPPO charger for work as well, since it can be had cheaper than the OnePlus wall wart.
These are replacing worn out and slower type C cables.
I thought if you want fast charge you have to use the charger. The cable can be any quality cable

AFAIK USB type A side has additional pins for DASH/Fast Charge. That's why it won't work on any other cables.

I read on OnePlus site that if you want fast charge you have to use their supplied cable or equal too.
I have a few of these aftermarket ones from amazon, work fine with dash charging.

I was going to say, I haven't had a look see for a while but this morning I hit Amazon and there are a number of cables that work with dash charge according to the reviews. Some that don't, also according to the reviews. My big takeaway was half the price of the official goods so I went ahead and ordered the same one the fellow above me linked because it's the first one I ran into that was 6 ft instead of a meter. Glad to here someone got there first and it worked: Amazon reviews are good but I have more faith in a thumbs up from a fellow phone person.
Anker all the way.

Can you link a fast charge cord or adapters from AliExpress? I swear I never know what's fake on that website. I've ordered a few things from them before but only on smaller purchases.
I ordered one from Amazon .. it comes from shenzen China. Where most electronics are made in China..
It's literally a official OP cable but packaged in a generic box.
I tested and it works for dash charge..
It's exactly the same except it says dash on the tip .
And it was under $7
I'll post a link of anyone shows interest

I asked my friend in Asia to buy me some Oppo chargers and OP 1.5m dash cable. It costs around $3 for the Oppo charger and $4 for the cable. Also bought the dash car charger for under $10.

Nintendo Switch USB-C cable + iPad charger will fry my OP6T?

I have a spare USB-C cable from my Nintendo Switch, also a spare charger from an old iPad. Is it safe to use them to charge my phone?
I've read people saying they won't use any other acessories other than OP, and other people saying it is safe to use 3rd party stuff as long as it is good quality brands (I assume Nintendo and Apple would be considered to be good quality).
So... is it safe? Would you do it? Why?
Thanks a lot!!
Personally I don't see any issue with this as long as the USB-C cable has the proper 56k resistor in it. I would assume that an official Nintendo cable would have this.
I personally use multiple different chargers for my 6T and good quality cables like Anker or Aukey without any issues at all.

It should be safe.
It's not going to deliver more than 1.5A. The phone won't fast charge with anything but. "dash" charger.
Shouldn't be a problem, i sometimes use my wife's Samsung Note 8 charger on my phone, it's no dash charging but it does do a job.
There are amazon brands which are equally good and way cheaper than Nintendo or Apple stuff: AmazonBasics, Anker, Aukey,...

ive used my ZTE Axon 7 charger and my personal favorite aftermarket usb type-c cable, Anker, with no issues. it does not show the dash, warp, wth ever speed icon, but it works fine without frying my phone. that being said, i do typically just use the oem cable and charger. i think speed is the only tradeoff, but its quick charge 2 vs [one plus faster charge] so its a few min faster to use OEM is the only IRL difference i've seen.

The whole myth about using 3rd party cables and chargers can vary. Brands such as AmazonBasics, Anker, Aukey, and other reputable brands will be perfectly fine to charge with, but not dash charge (not that it will hurt the phone, it will only charge at normal speeds). OnePlus phones can only dash charge with OnePlus accessories, and do not support Qualcomm charging standards. Cables and chargers from other devices such as Nintendo, Apple, Google, HTC, etc. should also be safe to use. Charging with cables from brands you've never heard of, have bad reviews, known they don't have the proper 56k resistor or cables from that $50 RCA tablet you bought may work, but I doubt will have the necessary USB protection for charging.
Instead of spending $20 on an Apple Lightning cable (that will break in a year) costs more money than buying a $7 Anker cable on Amazon. So yes, I would do it not only for saving money but for convenience sake of having more cables.
