Is it by chance Google Assistant or just the Google App? Can you post a screenshot of the advertisement your seeing?
If in doubt try factory data resetting the phone. I would suggest this combined with an antivirus/malware scanner (at the very least the latter if you don't plan on factory resetting the phone). A factory data reset basically resets everything back to default and removes all your apps. Set your phone backup, install some sort of antimalware/antivirus app and then pay particular attention to what apps you install. If the issue happens again take note of what apps you installed last/recently (cuz they might be the cause).

Don't do factory reset, download Malwarebytes eecurity,u will get 1 month free, then choose "use deep scanner during full scan" from the settings,it will detect and kill the malware nd adware

Chack the apps with an "overlay permisson"

Got it fixed had running Malwarebytes and Samsung owns antivirus both got nothing, i cleaned Google cache, reset their app data, removed few apps and its gone thankfully, have no idea where it would come.
The picture attached is "Estonian language" but yeah it would close my apps and show the add when I click show recent apps shows "Google play services" and then it immediately deletes itself.

Removing stock apps.. slight problem

So.. I deleted everything that I wanted to delete... problem is when you got to Manage Apps in settings it still shows but now its com.android.packagename and when you click on it it says application not found.
Anyway to take this out?
is no one else having this problem or something? or simply dont care?
Can you throw me list of what you removed ?
I had the same **** right after i removing all unwanted apps from the phone. Needed to reflash the phone in order to get it run propelly again, and after that did bit less "heavy handed" cleaning on the phone... Afaik i noticed, its those Google's apps that coused it... (gtalk or somethink like that)
Well I removed all the apps that I didn't want and it stayed in Settings > manage apps menu. So I reflashed again and deleted one this time (Alarm Clock, for testing purposes). Rebooted then went into the menu and it shows com.android.alarmclock, so the phone thinks its still there but its not anymore.. because when you try to go to it, it says Application Not found and kicks you out of the menu
/data/system/packages.xml
Thanks man..

Android force close loop (with phone access)?

Hello,
I have a problem with my samsung galaxy s2 GT-I9100
running android 2.3.5 stock version.
I'm normal user who used the phone for basic function like making phone calls and using the google, facebook apps with some installed apps from the play store.
Today, 2 hours ago logsprovider initiated out of nowhere an endless loop of "force close" alerts, between them most of the running apps were closed too (including some weird z7... app).
Because of the interval (about half a second) between alerts I can goto setting -> apps -> and "clear data" in the logsprovider config.
this stops the "force close" alerts loop untill the next restart of the phone. in this state I basically don't have access to the phone features and all the home screens are empty, including the phone's apps menu.
I can run any app by adding it to the home screen and then executing it, if the app has system operation like the play store that require it to install something, the app will crash and no new programs will install.
I can also connect the phone to a computer and get access to all the files (I think it's just those on storage), I might try to get an apk of an antivirus there and try to install it - hope it doesn't crash
These are desprate times... thats why I'm contacting the experts,
1. Can I fix this, this might have been caused by an app, what to do?
2. If the only solution is factory reset how do I backup the data, apps, or contact lists?

[Q] My phone seriously messed up itself

Yesterday my phone ran out of battery and it took me a while to get back to my charger. I came back late and I put my phone to recharge over night. I wake up and start my phone and it's like it's never been used before. It has done some sort of reset by itself. All these help popups comes up about how to use slides and motion etc etc. My gmail account is not registered to my phone anymore. I go through my applications and now I start to realize that something is seriously wrong.
Some of my apps are missing on my home screen and when I look for them they seem to be uninstalled, so I try to install these apps again and get the "unknown error code during application install -24" error. This is the case for 3 of my paid applications. Portfolio stocks, swift key and maps with me.
I have more problems though, 50 % of all my apps that are still installed will not even start, like all of my games for example, Every time I try to start one of these I get "Unfortunately, application has stopped" This is also the case for some other apps like skype and spotify. Most of my apps have completely dropped the app settings and information. All my whats app conversations are gone for example and my number isn't even registered anymore.
Some apps still have the icon on my home screen but when I try to start these (like googles for example) it says "application not installed" even though the icon is there.
So as you can tell there some major problem has occurred when my phone turned itself of yesterday.
Now I'm afraid my phone ****ed itself up to much to actually be recovered with is a ***** but I'm wondering how the hell could this happen? What kind of information has deleted itself and why is this possible?
And is there anything you guys think I can do except resetting the whole device. My phone is not rooted and I regret not making backups.....
I have a galaxy s3 I9300 with android 4.1.2
Regards
Victor
factory reset. don't know why it happened

Can't opt-out of interest-based ads, have some effects

OK, so, it's probably not about being unable to opt-out. I basically can't change anything in the 'google settings' application.
Let's take the opting-out as an example. When you press that check mark, what should happen is a second of loading (a circle appears to load), and then the check mark applies. In my case, the check mark immediately applies, and when pressing the back button and entering the screen again it doesn't save.
In addition, apps that try to sign me into google+ (Clash of Clans for example) does nothing. I'm pretty much sure it's related.
This might be because some app i disabled or uninstalled, although I tried unfreezing all apps (as well as disabling Greenify) and the issue still persists. I can't clear data or change the ROM as several apps can't restore their data using Titanium Backup (CoC is one example).
Also, my Advertising ID seems to be empty nor does reseting it does something
I'm currently on NeatLite ROM 6.5. Also tried newer versions, same issue. Any help would be highly appriciated.

You can do Factory Reset : (this wiil wipe your data ) so make sure you first remove you Google and other accounts before doing this , or you can use
CM Security app to clean viruses .

It may not be a virus but it is a likely result of adware that was installed as part of an app you installed.
You could probably find out what installed it by using a good security scanner. If that doesn't do the trick, reset the phone back to Factory settings. Make sure you back up your data.
