The battery has gone woes the standby is very good tho but the draining is very fast couldnt last a day i used it for 24 hours and the charge doesnt hold tho. But yeah the rom very good and buttery smooth And pssssss THE NOW PLAYING FROM PIXEL 2 does work and is flawless and the songs from the background on youtube also recognizes very flawless

If I am already on Pie have I to flash stock Oreo and then flash this rom?

Recently, PIE ROMs have moved to the Oreo base for FP support. So, unless you have flashed the Oreo FP support, previously, you will need it for this release.

Same Question here...
and if so, will there be any problem if I flash Stock Oreo over Pie?

Best Pie option, IMO, thus far. Everything working, so far and smooth. I am having BT phone stability issues, so hopefully there are improvements coming, there.

If you fall back to Oreo, I believe that you will need to flash the Nougat FP zip.

Sorry, but I´m a bit noobish in the Android world...
What would be the order of doing this?
first, the FP Nougat flash, then stock OREO?

Incorrect, Potter PIE ROMs moved to Stock Oreo base now, you need to either flash Oreo FP Firmware zip (Provided in the thread) that will get FP back to life or to flash the entire stock 8.1 to get both FP and NFC working

I don't believe that was the question, here. I understood that the question was the order of flash. If you go to Pie from Oreo, you can flash Pie ROM and then flash Oreo FP. Perhaps if you flashed the Oreo FP and then the Pie ROM, it works?
If you are going back to Oreo, flash Oreo and then Nougat FP zip. What is wrong in the above?

Just curious, but if Havoc is based on Lineage OS, then why am I able to install unofficial Lineage 16 without going back to stock rom without any problems and fully working fingerprint sensor, but Havoc requires reverting to stock?
If Fingerprint sensor capability can be patched in after the fact, then why was it not part of the original rom in the first place?
Just feels rather cludgy and more like "unofficial" than "official"

It is not unique to Havoc. As mentioned in other posts, many of the Pie releases (not all) have moved to the Oreo based FP support. I have not looked at the source but assume that Oreo and early Pie releases were implementing the older (Nougat) based FP support. Perhaps you don't see this requirement with the unofficial LOS 16 because that release has not updated the FP support. Not a hack, anymore then the fact that our 64-bit device does not have full 64-bit support. Lenovo has not seen fit to deliver that.

Black Shade said:
This is a great introduction for everyone who wants to use this ROM for the first time.
Coming from a TouchWiz based ROM, you'll appreciate a noticeable performance bump with all the benefits coming with any Nougat AOSP ROM. Since it's an AOSP ROM, you have to keep in mind that you won't be able to use all the TouchWiz apps and features, SPEN only works as a stylus and camera isn't that great - but this also depends on the app you want to use.
Performance and battery are pretty good by default, but you may consider flashing the other kernel. This ROM comes with Samsung kernel pre-installed, which is great for performance, but uses more battery and tends to overheat sometimes. Emotion kernel is great for battery and doesn't overheat nearly as much, but you may notice some framedrops in animations. You can configure them manually anyways, using the Kernel Adiutor app: both kernels come pre-rooted, so you can accurately balance all the parameters and get the experience you wish.
There aren't many known bugs, the most important issues have been solved in the past months, I've been using Resurrection Remix for almost 6 months now. Sometimes camera gets stuck when taking photos with flash, forcing you to reboot your device to fix it. I was talking about camera quality before, and I have a pretty good solution for this: just download HTC Camera 2 from APK Mirror (try the latest version, if it shows compatibility issues just uninstall it and look for an older version); this is the best app I've found so far and I'm really satisfied by the results. The other issue is related to Bluetooth: some users have reported issues when connecting to their car Bluetooth systems, keep this in mind as a possibility. Other than that you'll only find a couple glitches, like a couple toggles not working properly in settings. There may be some stability issues, for example my Google+ app force closes sometimes, but it's a bug related to Nougat itself rather than the ROM.
Since this is an AOSP ROM, there's a lot of stuff to play around with. You may start changing system sounds, boot animations and themes. Keep in mind that sometimes you may go too far and your device could end up in a bootloop, but don't worry about that: just go into TWRP and flash the ROM again, clear caches and you're done, system will boot and all your data will be there. System apps or mods you installed will be removed though. You may know that, but in case you or anyone else doesn't, I wanted to include this.
When first flashing this ROM, remember that you should change your /cache and /data partitions to F2FS, you can do that in TWRP (once at a time). This will give you better overall performance. When flashing a ROM without F2FS support they should be automatically converted back to ext4; in case this doesn't happen, you can do it manually once again.
The ROM comes with Magisk pre-installed, it's a RR team decision. Some people don't like it, and you can remove it. I won't tell you how, but you can look for tutorials yourself. If you want SuperSU back, don't use the Play Store version: instead, you should look for the latest .zip package on the Chainfire Google+ page and flash it from recovery. This ROM isn't able to pass the safetynet test yet, so you won't be able to download certain apps from Play Store, thanks Google.
I think that's all you need to know. I hope it helped you to get an overall idea about this ROM!

View Full Changelog
To reduce the battery drain, I have made the following settings in the kernel adiutor:
1) CPU Voltage: -25mV Global Offset (300MHz starts with 700mV) -> Apply on boot
2) CPU Hotplug: Disable MPDecision and enable AutoSMP -> Apply on boot
and finally use a black substratum theme which reduce display consumption.
Theme Suggestions:
PitchBlack Origins
Swift Black (Thx to Black Shade)
S.I.X Theme
DNA Project
Please note!
The wipe process that is a part of the installation procedure deletes some important configuration data, ie. BATTERYSTATS, which keep track of the battery's power level. These data ensure a balanced power management profile for all the hardware components of your phone. This is normal and nothing to worry about at all. Your battery drain will return to normal within a day or two.

This is a AOSP rom, No Spen support... some features are accessible with third party softwares.
Can anyone advise if camera works with flash and Bluetooth work on this Rom? Attempted most recent MM rom of Resurrection and camera with flash crashes the phone.

I've used that too. Probably the best you will get on AOSP roms

I juggle between AOSP & Touchwiz very often. If u need better camera, volte, tons of features(including Spen) stay with touchwiz, Else move to AOSP if u need stock interface with mediocre camera(comparitively) but on the highside u wont notice any lags and the experience will be fluid.
I quickly dirty flashed over emotion aosp. Everything seems to be working great! Thanks for another welcome N Rom. I'll give it a good go now. I hope my random reboots might be gone :good:

FAQ
Can I use Viper4Android (V4A) FX Audio with this rom?
If you want use V4A just flash latest Magisk Version, download modul "Viper4Android FX for Magisk v15" and install it.
Why did Bluetooth paring with car not working?
Most car bluetooth interfaces using A2DP for communication between phone and car. At moment A2DP not works really well on Oreo and force crashes of bluetooth app.
Great! I was just looking at their source code. And wondering if someone was gonna build!
any bugs? like bluetooth and video? does kernel support dt2w? thanx

Please, read the OP for the known bugs. I suppose that dt2w is not supported because it use the same source kernel as RR 5.8.5 but forgive me if I'm wrong.
I will test it soon.

If you want to have an idea I recommend to read last 3-4 pages of the unofficial LineageOS discussion just here. The base is the same.
Some problems are reported (BT connection, fingerprint, modem, etc.) but is very promising.
Installed today, im happy, very smooth
Ir- blaster works , tested with chinese led, remote i light
Titanium backup works, even restore

Thanks mate for reply .
Issue is that whenever i lock screen doesn't matter when ,after trying to unlock screen doesn't come up . Sometimes dark grey or black display shows up .
So i have to use phone without locking phone on pie/oreo based roms. Nougat and mm roms works fine.
if i let it charge then unlock problem seems to be solved .
Maybe its hardware issue but if its hardware issue then how come mm/nougat roms works fine .
it should be kernel related problem i think which is causing this problem.
i have already done fastboot and flashone method not once but twice but as soon i flash oreo/pie roms problem comes up
i would be grateful if you help me to solve this issue atleast in your rom .
Attention. Anyone having problems like the screen of death mentioned above, you probably tried installing Android Q. Clear vendor partition and ***install the base aex you used to trembilize your phone and then install the rom you like*** I don't know if installing aex is needed or not. I think it is. But after that all Q problems are gone.
I never tried Q until today and the problem appeared weeks ago.
anyways which rom I have to try to get back to. original state? I have already flashed aex a lot of times.
sorry for going off topic.
@azzammalik That's an odd problem.
Do u use some mod on pie /Oreo which u didn't on mm?
Also does this happen with pattern or fingerprint?
Hello
I've been trying your ROM for a few days and all works fine for me, I noticed only that the notifications arrive on a completely black background and are not readable, in particular google and whatsapp, other thing battery life is not the best for my daily use...
CDLA headphones work perfectly after installing this module with Magisk (thanks to @shivatejapeddi)
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1395089523397949415
I hope this ROM will be supported for a long time yet because it is a great job
Thank you very much for your work @Nicky_san

For notifications,
Do advanced restart>Reboot system ui.
If doesn't work ,u can also try changing device theme to light under settings>Display>Device theme ,reboot
For battery,
other users r getting 5-6 depending on their use.
You'd check which app is draining battery.
U can try greenify in Magisk.
Also switch between spectrum profiles.
Lastly per app thermal profile's also available, try that.

I clean flash every rom. before I install any mod problem appears as soon phone goes into sleep mode or I lock device by my own.
thanks dev for your reply but maybe I am going off topic in this thread as this isn't problem of this Rom so I think I have to live with it. because I have done every thing software wise but to no avail.
oreo onwards all roms have same issue.
but I am thankful that you replied here as I have already created a post in help forum but no one replied there.
thanks a lot

I had the same problem. Head to " how to trembilize your phone" topic. (That's not the real title of the topic) and then download THAT particular aex version after you wipe everything including vendor partition. When you flash this aex, install this rom.
Hi Thanks for very smooth ROM.
One issue for me. The rom always forgot my fingerprint each boot.
It looks that /data/system/users/0/settings_fingerprint.xml is initialized during boot.
Any ideas to fix it?

Instructions :
SECURITY ADVICE
Don't flash ROMs or Magisk modules which set SELinux to permissive or you welcome malware on your device!
Install Latest Firmware
Grab the Sony Stock firmware using e.g. XPeriFrim. You should always flash the firmware matching the LOS build.
Grab newflasher and put it in the same folder as the firmware files.
Read the newflasher original post on XDA for general instructions!
Remove the following from the folder so they won't get flashed:
all *.ta files (keep the one in the boot/ directory)
Turn off your phone
Hold the volume down button and attach it via USB to your system till you see LED turning green
Run newflasher from within this directory to flash the remaining files
Skip the second optional step (dumping of trim area), it's useless if your bootloader is unlocked already and takes a long time.
Hit Yes for all the next questions asked in Newflasher(Only dumpin of trim area should be selected no and rest all questions should be selected as yes.
Once Newflasher flashes the Stock rom, boot into it and make sure volte is available.(VOLTE WILL NOT WORK ON BLISS IF YOU DO NOT HAVE IT IN STOCK ROM.
Incase you are not able to see volte icon in stock either your carrier does not support it or there is an issue with the stock rom(Try flashing it again).
Once you confirm Volte is available in stock, Flash the TWRP recovery and follow below instructions carefully.
Boot into recovery >> Format Data >> Power off the Phone.
Again boot into recovery >> Format Data >> Power off the Phone.
This time boot into recovery >> Wipe Internal Storage.
Flash ROM, Gapps, Magisk.
In the setup wizard select SIM 1 as the default sim for calls data and message.
Once Boot is complete, wait patiently for few mins.
Voilllaa you should have volte and dual sim both enabled.
Google Apps
You can download and install the Google Apps from opengapps.org. You need ARM64 and 10.x. I suggest to *always* use the pico or nano package. If you need additional apps you find them in the Play Store.
MicroG
This ROM does support Signature Spoofing. However we are watching MicroG and check if they provide newer builds e.g. for Android Pie.

Apologies for this dumb question, I'm very new to this and I really want to try this Rom. How can I tell if my downloaded firmware is matched with the LOS build?

If don't know what it's it, then please inform yourself, you will may loose guarantee if you unlock bootloader.
Please take into account that I am far from being a professional adviser.
Unlocking the bootloader means loosing the TA partition which contains some keys from the producer, every device has it's own dev keys.
Without them, the camera, for example, won't have the same performance with stock firmware. Or you won't be able to turn on advanced features for video playing.
They can be restored if you've backed them up.
I didn't backed them up but I don't miss stock that much.

Oh I see. Thank you very much for your patience. I'll ask google how to. One more thing, are you using this ROM for your daily driver? If so, what is the model of your phone? Mine is G8342. I'm sorry for asking too much.
Update: working, my download was corrupted

Is my second phone but I use it daily.
This Rom is stable, very stable, it seems that everything works, at least everything important. On the other hand you can find minor bugs on stock firmwares. Device G8341
To install in short
Unlock bootloader, see Sony site
Install the stock firmware with new flasher, using computer, see YouTube
Install twrp for poplar by computer, see xda posts, twrp helps you install custom ROMs and other programs for root, 3.3.0 and 3.4.0 (or something like that) are the latest versions, any of them is good.
Install Rom by entering twrp, see first post.
DO NOT SKIP ANY STEP from these guides above.
Once you will install a few custom ROMs you will know when you can do that

Hi, I would like to try this.
Will it be OK to flash on SM-960F?
Can u please let me know the specific version of TWRP to flash?
So, root is optional? If I choose not to flash Magisk, I will stay without root? It is important for some of my Apps.
Which camera is included? Is it fully functional without bugs?
Will the S-pen feature work?
This being pixel ROM, will I get unlimited storage on Google photos?

Yes, you'll be okay to flash on SM-N960F
Any TWRP version is okay!
Magisk root is optional, you'll fine even not root!
Stock AOSP Camera is included! I recommend GCAM GO, which is better for you!
S-Pen will work, but S-Pen Menu and Air Commands will not.
Nope, Google Photos won't unlimited if you not root. You will need Magisk to flash gphotos module to get unlimited storage on Google Photos!
Hi Chef,
Just want to ask about updates, will this rom be maintained with future updates, or is it just one shot only?
This is not about update ETA, but more about how long this rom will live.
Thanks.

so if you come from Noble ROM, you will have to flash stock Android 10 Vendor first, then HavocOS! Because Noble ROM vendor will always stuck on bootanimation on AOSP!
Thank you for that, is there a place I can get the stock vendor other than sammobile?

Hi everyone. Please help. I'm trying to flash this rom but when finished, it reboots and goes into download mode directly. It's like its not seeing anything and just go straight into download mode. I have also tried different roms, the same happens. What am I doing wrong? I did flash latest stock but the same happens. What am I doing wrong? I have asked on the noble rom page as well and I'm just so desperate to get this working and I must be doing something small wrong. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for replying. I came from stock firmware. So yesterday, I flashed stock again, and then flashed havoc, and still straight into download mode. I have the N960F.
I got it right. Used the firmware that you had on here. Thanks so much for the help. Setting up the rom now. Looks great already!
