Got my phone today but I had no free case in the box. The ones on the reviews got one of the clear ones.

I was told, when I preorded it, that mine will have a case in it. I'll see on Monday. I'm in Romania, so maybe there's different packaging for every region?
Edit: Just watched some romanian unboxing videos with the phones from the same carrier I'm getting mine. None had a case. I'm guessing the guy at the carrier shop lied to or just didn't know and sais "yes", to get the sale, when I asked about the case.

Well mine got here yesterday from three and same sad

Yeah that is the first I was looking for. My guess in the UK we get a free wireless charger and Watch GT worth £260 so they removed the case lol

No case here either. The phone was pre-ordered from Vodafone. Not such a big deal. What I am more worried is the software for the camera is missing the AI features for the video effects and the software update shows software is up to date.

I know you're not serious but the cheap cases they include are like 5 cents to manufacture so I'm not sure why they removed them. I though it was something to do with the image of the brand as in some countries it is seen that only cheap chinese manufacturers include a case with their $200 phones and "premium brands" like samsung or apple would never do that but not sure

Free & free.... Depends what you pay for the packing
I got a free coffee when I picked mine up at the dealers' shop :cyclops:

Same, my Clove model had no case, not in the description.

I'm in Norway and bought my phone from Telenor and didn't get a free case.

Got mine in NZ. At first I thought I didn't have a case but then found it in the package with the little books in it.

Sorry, didn't want to stomp into someones thread about when it was release in the US, so thought I'd ask about the UK.
Is it possible to get around here yet? In the UK? I know the release date is later in July, but sometimes you can find them knocking about beforehand.
Cheers
looks like the 20th of july.
I really like the look of this one, what is the best price you have found it? (offline)

I found it for £400 from expansys.co.uk.
Use PP0509 to get £5 off the price and they also offer £30 of vouchers you can use with them.
So in total, its £365 + P&P
I found it at device wire for £400 and it comes with a car charger, case and screen protector.
Also does anyone know if it comes with a mem card?

Im going on holiday on 25th July, my wifes upgrade (with Orange) is due while we are away, I have shown her the Hero and I think with a bit of persuasion, she will go for it. Any chance we could have a few opinions when people get theirs in the UK. Cheers guys.

Yup, mines on pre-order, just waiting for it to come through. I'll give you a run down when I get it, but check out some of the videos on YouTube, theres loads and they just show how good it is.
When are you expecting delivery? Yeah, Ive seen some of the youtube videos, looks awesome.
Probably around the 23rd/24th hopefully, but knowing my look will be august some time.
Looks like most of the UK retailers have changed their 'expected' dates to early August, one even says 7th August. Shame.

Sony Xperia ZU C6833 PreOrder from atgsm.com

What's up everyone, made a new account but am familiar with the xda squad.
Anyways, I just placed an order yesterday (My birthday!) for the Sony Xperia ZU C6833 (Version suited for 4G LTE) from atgsm.com
It's based in New York and they sell other phones as well. I plan on using this with my T-Mobile account and their 4G LTE service. I received a call from them today saying they got a wrong shipment, they got the C6802 instead. The lady told me I had to wait another week or so for the new shipment to come in, in this case the C6833 (4G LTE)
Does anyone here have the C6833 already and is this normal for them to get wrong shipments and/or has the device simply JUST released? And if so where did you get it from? I'm sure I'm not being scammed as I've read about others buying the C6802 from atgsm.com so nothing to worry about there.
Thoughts and comments?
Thanks for your kind understanding!
Oh man..sorry to hear.
I almost pull the trigger with them last week. I emailed them and asked them if they have the c6833 in stock. They replied with a YES. But then i found a better deal on ebay $710 bases out of Texas. I checked their feedbacks and saw that 4 folks had already received their c6833 with no complaints. So i went with the Texas shop. Its coming Monday. I hope im getting the c6833.
I hope you will sort things out smoothly with yours. But i hate the fact that they lied. And also the wait.
Thanks bro appreciate the info, could you be kind to link me the ebay post if it's still available? I can still cancel my order. I already ordered a case and some screen protectors so I'll need the phone asap, it's a nightmare looking at a leather case without anything to put in it lol.

If you want, i can link you. You then can send them an offer them $710 with free shipping any colors. They might accept.
Here is the link. Im in california and i bought this 2 days ago. I already got my tracking info. Good luck.

I'll just wait next week for the C6833 from atgsm.com it's not big deal, I'm sure they won't scam me, it's just the damn wait.
But thanks so much for all the help appreciate it much!
Also, I'm planning to rip off that anti shatter film from day one and slap on my temporary screen protector until the tempered glass one becomes available. Oh I can't wait for next week lol

I want to keep the sony logo on the front. I just bought the full front and back screen protectors from Xtremeguard. I youtubed their products and they are awesome, especially for $6, the Spigen glass is too expensive and again..the wait. I also bought one of those thin flip cover from China. Im planning to purchase an OTG cable for reading thumbdrive directly to the phone. I was gonna pick up a magnetic dock charger, but too many bad reviews on it.. I will also buy the sbh52 bluetooth headset when it comes out.
Nice! Where can i find the cable to read USB drives directly? Does it read it just like a regular micro SD card or any other external storage device?
Also, do you think it's possible to have an HDMI output on the device or some sort of adapter so I can connect it to a projector or a tv? That'd be awesome!

Hey guys, my name is Jorge and im new to the forum. I ordered my C6833 from Negri Electronics last Friday and it came in on Wednesday with a little help from 2nd day shipping. First time ordering from them, but they were helpful every step of the way. One thing that annoyed me about Negri was their constant price decreases. The phone had went down in price twice before I had even received my phone!! I was given a price break refund so I cannot complain too much. Hopefully you get yours soon. Its a really fun phone. :good:

Thanks Jorge for your input!! I couldn't order from negrielectronics.com NOT because of their reputation, I've watched countless review videos on YouTube and most of them got their phones and supplies from them, but rather because of the price. I could always cancel my order if something happened to go wrong or if they just took too long, resting assured that my money is still safe as they only charge the credit card once they ship out.
Hopefully you can post up some pics of the phone and whatever accessories you'll put on the Xperia ZU! It really is one hell of a phone, I'm coming from an SG3 haha. Let me know how your service with them was and are you ready to root it and put a custom UI so you can maximize the screen and use it in tablet mode/phone mode at will?

aww man. I see what you mean. I got anxious to order since I had been waiting on it for months, so I just pulled the trigger. $100 dollars difference is quite a bit. I just checked and it is only 30$ more than atgsm.com price is currently, but im sure that will come down again in the next couple of days. I contacted Negri about a price match once again, so we shall see what they say.
I ordered the Incipio Feather case and chopped that up since they left out the magnetic charge port. Made a thread with pics in the ZU accessories section you wanted to check that out. other than that I am waiting on the tempered glass screen protector to come out. I too am coming from GS3, and theres no comparison on sonys UI and touchwiz. Sonys version of android just feels so much better IMO. But thats probably because I came from iphone before that.
I have very good experiences from AtGSM, I bought both the Xperia Z and the Z Ultra from them and that was by visiting the store itself. I like their product selection and that they got new devices in stock quickly, it just took a few days from that Sony started shipping the Ultras back in August before they received them.
So I can recommend the store. For those living in New York, it is actually worth to visit them since it is a different experience - the store is a small office actually. Not like a cellular store with demo devices etc, just this office with a store room at the back. They always show the device to you so you can check it out before taking the final decision.

Thanks man I appreciate the input! And that makes me feel a lot better,I order on Sept. 18 so in couple of days they SHOULD be having the C6833 in stock now. I couldn't wait for the US version I needed it now! Besides, the US and INT versions are both the same except for AT&T users, which I'm not (T-Mobile) and I should be able to connect to their 4G LTE speeds if I'm correct.
Thanks again, I'm based on the west coast o I don't think I'll be visiting their office anytime soon, but definitely I'll order there again if I need anything and they have it at a discounted price.
I just picked mine up from Overseas Electronics on Saturday for $760 after tax (I believe they have it in every color. I got mine in black). Since they're located in Chicago and I'm only an hour away, I just made the drive up to their shop and picked it up. All I can say is this thing's awesome, although I'll admit the battery issue needs to be addressed and the touchscreen on my device needs to be recalibrated. The manager also informed me that the new headset and smartwatch will be in stock this week, so I'll eventually get my hands on the SBH as well. Be sure to check them out though!

Wow man.. you look all ready and set! The magnetic transfer/charging cable is a must have although I'm not getting it just yet, I'll be alright wit the standard micro usb cable for now.
Mind I ask, what firmware do you have? And are you using something like CM because you transferred everything and all your info to your phone at once? I'm new to Sony and I'm not that familiar with it's rooting process, I for SURE don't wan a brick! Samsungs are more of my specialty but I need just some quick tips preferably from someone who already has done it. (I've seen the forums on here about rooting/troubleshooting as it's sometimes darn confusing!)
Thanks for the info on FedEx shipping out your phone though, hope you enjoy your device! I can't wait or mine, it's coming Friday!

Thus tablet looks very promising, but there isn't a lot of info out there on it. I currently have a nexus 7, but am looking at getting a 10". When is the z2 coming to the US and at what price? Am I the only one exited about this?

Not entirely sure if it'll come with a carrier. But the wifi version will probably be available just like the Tablet Z was. Both in Sony Stores and in resellers like Amazon, Best Buy, etc...
Best guess is it'll run $499 for a wifi 16Gb just like the Tablet Z did, and $599 for a 32Gb model. Mobile connectivity versions a bit higher, depending on if you buy them straight up or on a contract.
Last I heard indicated either late April or early May for release in the US. Probably May is more likely I bet.
The cellular model looks like Sony made one model with every band in it.
So you could import and will work on Att and T-mobile.
It even has 1700/2100 band for t-mobile HSPA

Wow! I'm not here to bash, or promote, any particular retailer. I'm just a guy who wants to buy one of these and am frustrated that Sony isn't selling them here the U.S. (Similar story with the Z1C phone which I ended up buying from the U.K.)
But ... Did you really pay $1500 at Tropical Mobile (price I see on eBay) for a device which retails around the world for $5-600?
If so, my hat's off to you for being bold and decisive. I'm still waiting, hoping for a good option from the U.K. or from Sony USA. The price from the U.K., when available, is forecast at about $590 with support from Sony UK and a two year warranty. There are apparently reputable U.S. eBay sellers offering no-support Europe versions for $510. The latter are promised to already be through customs and ready to ship; what I read at Tropical Mobile is ambiguous about where they actually are and if there might still be customs issues.

I got the WIFI+LTE version from Tropical on Ebay.
I purchased about 10 days ago and the price for the wifi+lte version was $690
I see he just recently raised the price to over $1,000
Mine came from Singapore. Left Singapore and was at JFK and cleared customs the next day. No problems at all
Mine left Singapore too. I paid $560. It wasn't $1000 or so like u said at that time. So no need to rage just simple ask...

Thanks for both answers. That all seems much more reasonable. The big question I struggle with on any of these imports is warranty. Sony typically warrants their products for two years (sometimes with an offer of a 3rd year for an extra penny). I may never need it, but I hate to give it up. Did you get any kind of warranty?

When I was buying from tropical mobile on eBay, the description said 1 year manufacturer warranty. So I guess it doesn't matter where you bought it, Sony has the tab serial, identity, they would automatically cover you with 1 year warranty. Idk. That's my guess...

I wouldn't assume that means anything. They may or may not be an authorized reseller, but if you take the device to Sony's repair facilities in another country, they may not cover it.
Sony USA for example has their own repair network. Their repair centers may not even have access to software or hardware for devices that aren't officially sold in the US market.
I'm not saying that the warranty is void, but unless you confirm it's valid with Sony and will be covered in your home country, I would not assume. I've got a lot of friends in the Philippines and they deal with that stuff all the time with items they have friends ship to them from the states. To the point where sometimes they ship items back to us for us to send in for repair, since the item is only covered under warranty in the US since that's where it was purchased. Similar circumstances may prove out for these.
That said, the prices are surprising. The SGP311 sold for $499 here in the states and I'd assumed the new Z2 Tablet 16GB wifi counterpart would sell for similar. I can buy that SGP511 model for $520-550 on Ebay. Even the LTE model is readily available in 16GB for $629. The cheapest I saw the TMobile complaint LTE Tablet Z was for about $650 in the states, without a subsidy.
I'm half tempted to buy a white 16GB LTE SGP521 just because I'm almost afraid prices will go up when the US model is available.
I may be overly pessimistic and completely wrong, but I both assume and expect that if I self-import an offshore Sony product that Sony USA week disavow any responsibility for it. Best case is that I would have to send it back to the country of export.

I am going to get a 3rd party warranty... EBay and Amazon have them... The 32 gig Wi-Fi is 612 on Amazon right now

I'm considering that option. You get 2 years of broader consumer protection against various maladies for $100-130. But, I still hate to give away that free manufacturer's warranty

I got the White SGP521 model and I love it.
Really sleek looking and performance is awesome.
Using in on T-Mobile and I am getting LTE speeds in the 35mbps range in NYC.
I ordered this last week from eBay seller never-msrp. Black 16 gig WiFi model. It seems like its a euro model as its USB charger is euro prong. Price was fair. I wanted this bad. Think seller has more.

I was millimeters away from ordering the same model from the same seller - and may still. They were responsive to my inquiries and seemed like they would be reliable. They honestly answered my warranty question, which (to my shame) scared me away, or at least caused me pause. I'm not sure from your post... have you received it? Since they offered two-day delivery, I guessed they had the product in the U.S.A. already, which made me more comfortable about it not having to get through customs. How long did it take to arrive? It's supposed to have a U.S. plug; is it a satisfactory charger? Anyway, congratulations.

buying it in ebay from south korea

Hey all ,
I want to buy this watch and I noticed many sells on eBay from south korea.
watch has a very good price and according to the list it should work fine in my country as far as bands.
also asked the seller if I'll get FOTA updates and he said that yeah.
so my question is , can anyone think on other reasons why I shouldn't buy it from there?
sell for example : http://www.ebay.com/itm/321576361962
Thanks for your help
On the side of pessimistic, I'm always very careful about ordering anything from overseas. Mainly cuz what if something goes wrong???
Once i ordered a fairly expensive HD IP Cam from Asia, and when it arrived it was clearly a fake. The worse case I know of, is a co-worker that ordered an Galaxy
S5 from Korea at a great price.
After a few weeks, weird things began happening.
By utilizing a few sites that specialize in spotting fakes, he would've never been able to tell that he got taken and bought a cheap clone. And the kicker of this story, the fine print in the con's listing forced ebay to rule in his favor.
So overall, try to order products from US vendors and be sure to read the description in its entirety.
Sorta like the guy that bought a picture of a gold iPhone for big $$$, cuz he didn't read (or maybe doesn't know how).
Good luck!!!

I think that for hige-end devices such as this it would be very easy to spot a fake product , for example , curved screen is not something that every manufacturer can make.
and as you said , ebay buyer protection plan can always save you.
in addition there's the whole feedback system that if you know how to work with you can figure within 2-5 minutes of investigation if the seller is reliable or not.
my main concerns are about the version of the watch , will all apps work on it etc.

Don't be so sure on the looks alone. Take a look at this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s/general/gear-s-150-t3001480
First off. This model won't work in the US.
There are a lot of different versions of the GS... Each for a different segment of the world. I would do some 2G/3G/4G frequency research on the model you're buying and the provider you'll be using it with. Also, make sure it's factory unlocked... Trying to get it unlocked from another country would near impossible.

yeah , $150 for a brand new watch is of course a ripoff.
you're right , the south korean watch won't work in north america , but as you can see I'm not from US
I guess I will cancel this order though , since I found other seller from Europe who also promise to cover any customs duties if it gets stopped.
There ya go... Congrats, you'll love this watch!!!

I did buy mine from Korea, and I'm from the UK. The problem is that you got to pay import charges, that will be 50.
it is the original samsung gear s with sim/wifi. the other problem is because its from Korea the navigation is not there on the watch all thou i updated it through samsung kies3 app.

I see , well yeah , I figured that since I have the risk of having to pay import charges I better cancel the order before the seller ship it.
This is what I did.

it's more or less the same price when you calculate it. if you buy it from your country or import it/ the charges will add up like you brought it locally.

wow, so you might as well buy it on ebay for 200/import charges will be about 55...total you pay will be 255....ho yeah paypal take about 9 charge to send the payment overseas, so the new total is£264,still cheaper than £336.
Buy it if you don't mind the trouble and long delivery time.

Nano Memory card available for pre-order

Looks like Amazon have the Huawei 128gb Nano Memory card up for pre order. It's quite expensive £54.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Huawei-Nan...d=1540543546&sr=8-6&keywords=nano+memory+card
I can't seem to find much other information about it, and it also seems odd that it just popped up on Amazon before anywhere else.
What do we think? Will other card manufacturers start making generics?
Hmmm... Usually sold by Huawei on Amazon US
Thank you for finding that! I'm very interested in getting one of these despite the high price. But I'm concerned about the seller on the Amazon UK sure in that link. Usually always sells their products themselves on the Amazon US site, I agree this sounds a bit odd. Has anyone heard of this seller or use them before?
Any other links to alternative sources that might be a bit more legitimate would be welcome as well
[I'm new so xda dev form is not letting me post a link to the seller's profile, but it's Tienda Siglo XXI]
49 euros in Amazon DE, seller is Amazon.
Thanks! No US delivery tho :-/

Aaaaargh! So close and yet so far. Thank you very much for the link, best price I've seen.
Unfortunately they won't deliver that item to US. Following your lead, I saw one other (non Amazon) seller there on Amazon.DE but they won't ship to US either. It will let me add to cart but I get errors when trying to check out that there is no US delivery.
I really appreciate the help... The search continues, and unfortunately may need to resort to a third party eBay thing when that becomes a viable option.

If the seller is Amazon they will ship to the US regardless of what the site says. Ordered the super car charger last week and it shipped today to the US from the UK even though the site says won't ship to the US.

Thanks for heads up and sharing your experience, perhaps it only works for Amazon UK (which unfortunately does not seem to list the NanoMemory card at all), but it doesn't seem to be true for Amazon DE.
Even though the 49EUR NanoMemory card for Mate 20 Pro is sold by Amazon it will not let me check out with a US shipping address (I tried several different US address).
I hey there following message and only the option to delete it from my cart, not purchase:
Huawei NanoMemory 128G Memory Card for Mate20/Mate20 Pro
There was a problem with some of the items in your order (see below for more information):
Sorry, this item can't be sent to your selected address. Learn more. You may either change the delivery address or delete the item from your order.
The quest continues... I messaged all the Mate 20 Pro sellers I could find on eBay and all except one said unambiguously that they will not sell any Mate 20 Pro accessories. That one seller may offer accessories, time will tell if they follow through.
These were in stock a few days ago on Amazon UK.

Currently on backorder with expected stock date of 9th Nov
And the price has dropped a little (well actually % wise quite a bit)
Still twice the price of a regular 128gb micro sd card
who's going to be the first person to try "adapting" a standard SD card to fit ;o)

Judging by the info at the link below I suspect that it would be a very big challenge given the difference in size & contact layout

I've ordered the one supposedly available on amazon with an expected delivery date of November 12/13th let's see.

Available at China:
https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?s...d=579884666832&sku_properties=5919063:6536025
Mines out for delivery today. Ordered from DE Amazon to UK.
I also ordered from Amazon DE, original delivery date was 14 November, then last week it changed to 6-8 November. But not yet shipped...
EDIT: now says shipped, delivery on 8 November
Received today form Amazon.co.uk. Fits fine however doesn't come with any kind of adapter to plug into a computer so the only way to put existing stuff onto it is connecting phone to PC via USB lead
Card just received today. Will try and see how it works.
