USB-C Cable for the Mate 20X - Huawei Mate 20 X Accessories

Most know but if your new to Huawei look for the USB cables that are 5 Amp. Others will work just slower charge speed. For the Mate 20 Pro, it may be a completely different cable. Also for your chargers look for 5a output.

Has anyone seen any super charge cables that are 3 to 5 meters in length?
The longest I have seen is 2 meters.

Pretty much the longest I found when I was searching for some for my M10P. Maybe the limit for the 5a charging.

Maybe it is the same, Super Charge Cable X1, from the title TITACUTE Huawei Mate 9 Super Charger Cable, 6.6FT Quick Charging Cable 5A USB C Cable Durable Nylon Braided Cords Data Cable Type A to Type C Cable for Huawei P20 Pro Mate 10 Pro P10 Plus Red
Works well.
The one plus 5 pin long cable does not support super charging unfortunately does not work. The TITACUTE is a good value comparatively.

Does the M5 have Quick Charge or not?

When I say Quick Charge, I mean proper QC technology, not some "quick" or "fast" charging method unique to Huawei only.
The stock charger says [email protected] or [email protected] QC2 and 3 can do [email protected] However when I put the M5 onto my QC3 charger, it only draws [email protected] as tested with a cable with V/A reading.
Charger and cable had been tested to work at proper QC power with my ZTE Axon 7, drawing 18W and also a Moto G4 Turbo Charging.
The strange thing is, if there is some "special" Huawei only technology on the stock charger, it still charges my Axon 7 and G4 with "standard" QC3. Anyone has been successful charging their M5 on a standard QC2/3 charger?
Only does fast charge when the screen is turned off.
there's also a possibility that your volt/amp meter is blocking the fast charge also.

Tried it with screen on or off, and even with the M5 off, still 10W on a non stock QC3 charger.
Cable definitely works for quick charge because I used the same cable on the stock charger and it reads 18W, so it is not blocking anything.
I use this QC3 charger. I get the dual lightning bolt symbol which I think means fast charge.

Yes, 2 lighting symbol means QCing. However it does not show on my non stock QC charger. My other QC-able devices does on both that charger and the Huawei stock one, strange.
Huawei's fast charge is not part of the Qualcomm's QC standard. However I have found that QC3 is cross compatible with Huawei M5's fast charge.
My 2 cents.
For what its worth, I use this charger:

This is what I use: http://amzn.eu/cLL0gg9
Cable shouldn't matter for QC and proven not to matter as I used the same random cable (and also the cable with the V/A meter) on this charger and the stock charger. It QC my M5 and Axon 7 on the stock charger but only QC my phone on the Aukey charger.
I have a USB C charger ordered, will see if that works better with the M5.

I had since discovered that Huawei does not use QC standards but their own FCP for fast charge. Some QC chargers have that ability built in, but not all. Time to invest in more chargers I think.
Further update: My charger with USB PD arrived and no, it does not charge the M5 (FCP) nor my Axon 7 (QC3) fast. However the M5 charges off my Tronsmart portable charger with VoltIQ and QC3. I had done a bit of digging around and found (so far) that only Tronsmart make any chargers that can support both standards at the same time from the same port. This is great as it is when I am out and about I will need quick charging most.
Sadly they do not (at the moment) make a charger with, say 2 x QC + VoltIQ ports. It is either 1 x QC + VoltIQ and 4 x normal or 5 x QC + VoltIQ and that one costs a bit too much.

There are many chargers that can QC and FCP at the same time, BUT very few that have 2 or more ports that can do them all at once (or at least FCP+QC on one and QC on the other), just one port and the other one at normal speed. There is a Tronsmart one with 5 ports but it is quite costly.
What happens if you just plug m5 into Google phone usb-c fast charger? Like for my nexus 6p. Slow charging? How much slower? Really want one USB c charger for all my stuff.

Not sure what the nexus comes with. However I had tried it with QC3 charger and a USB C PD charger and both just slow charges. Only Huawei original charger or SOME chargers with VoltIQ can fast charge the M5.
plugging in my USB tester proves that actually it takes a 9v 2a charge from original power adapter and cable. Whilst screen is on also.
I'm looking at various chargers and cables to make use of quick charge, or at least fast charge. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I need a FCP capable charger, and a 5A cable?

I can confirm that you do not need the original cable for FCP charge. I used a USB 3.0 (blue plug) cable that works with QC3 for FCP and this is confirmed by a USB V/A meter.
I think Huawei has their own standard. Some of my QC 2 chargers work, some don't using the same cable.
Frustrating that I can't use my Google phone usb-c charger for fast charging. How much slower is it using non Huawei fast charger? Any ideas?

Huawei FCP is [email protected]=18W or [email protected]=22.5W. Not sure which one our tablet uses, at work cannot check the actual charger. However when plugged into a QC2/3 charger, it charges at [email protected]=10W. Meaning it will be between 80% to 125% more time with a non FCP charger.
Having just picked up my M5 8.4, confirm my PD charger is (apparently) quick charging the device. It says fast charge on the lock screen and I've got the double lightning bolt in the status bar. Score!

Alternative 30W Chargers?

Any recommendations for an alternative 30W wall charger (confirmed working with the Rog Phone 2) that's cheaper than the $50 official charger?
Search this on Amazon. Works great for about $35!
Anker 30W PIQ 3.0 & GaN Tech Power Delivery USB C Charger, PowerPort Atom III Slim Compact Type-C Charger for iPhone 11/11 Pro / 11 Pro Max/XR/XS/Max, Galaxy, Pixel, MacBook and More
Does any USB PD charger work at the full 30W (provided it can give the right juice)
I believe so. how many volts is it charging at to get that 30 watts? 3amps at 10 volts?
I am not sure if my pixelbook charger is charging at the maximum 30 watts

Honestly, I think only the note 10+ 45w charger can support the hypercharge because the 30w charger is 10v 3a at peak. Soooo most chargers with PD 3.0 scales 5v 3a 9v 3a 12 3a 15v 3a 20v 2a. Note 10+ 45w peaks at 10v 4.5a so most likely that's the only charger you can buy as a alternative.

Anyone from india tried the 30w charger?
Rog 2 has just been released officially in india as well. Went out of stock in 10minutes.
Can anyone send me a photo of their phone while HyperCharging with the 30W charger? Like the battery icon and the lock screen?
When I plug in with a crappy charger, you just get the usual lightning bolt on the battery icon. If you plug in to a standard fast charger, you get a Lightning Bolt with a "+" above it. And when you charge with a USB PD charger (I'm using an Anker) it has two "+" above it like "++", it doesn't say "HyperCharge" or whatever on lock screen though, unlike OnePlus which says "Warp Charging" on the lock screen
I can't find any other charger that does the 10v 3amp that the asus one does. But I think with my quick charge 4 charger, its charging at 27 watts = 9v 3amps
I don't have a charger that does 10 volts though.

I think you wont find any 3rd party charger that support asus hypercharge, at least for now... I bought 45w BASEUS charger that support QC 4 and PD 3 but it didnt work... I bought again 2 different C to C cable but still didnt work either.. And i end up buying the 30w ROG charger, and with any C to C cable i got hypercharge working.... Fyi, the phone will only charged at 25watt wheres th 5watt remain will be used to power up attached accessories like aero fan cooler.
How long charging your Baseus ?
Any luck on finding a Hypercharge Charger yet?
Guys for 3 watts, it's totally not worth it. 27 watts is more than enough. The difference would be minimal if not noticeable. Save your money and don't fall for the marketing of "Hypercharge" numbers don't lie.
If you have the Asus 30 Watt charger, great.
If you don't, grab any other charger that can do 27 watts or more if the price is right.
I have ordered the below linked charger and cable from AliExpress, will share the charging results once i receive them...

USB PD will be best. I use UGreen charger with USB PD and it's charging my Pixel as fast as the original socket charger.

Question What charger?

So we have the official 30W charger for £25 at Google store, which I believe most people will be going for.
The pixel 6 requires PD 3.0 with PPS for full 30W fast charging. Since chargers will no longer be available in future phones and to avoid buying chargers again in the future when charging speeds increase I thought it might be best to go for a higher charging capacity USB-C PD PSS charger.
Fortunately Spigen have a 45 Watts PD 3.0 PPS charger on amazon with charging cable included.

This should save folks from buying a charger in the future when charging speeds get increased once again.
The good thing is that this one is currently having a 25% off promotion until the end of this month, so turns out cheaper than the official Google fast charger!

No its not. It will charge at normal speeds only. For example if you use a oneplus dash charger it won't charge your pixel at 30W.
A handshake for fast charging is made between your phone software and the charger and therefore they both need to adhere to a contract between the two. This is where we need standards so that chargers become compatible across all manufacturers.
Samsung has already moved to PD PPS standards.
Google is trying to push all manufacturers to use PD 3.0 PPS standard so that all become compatible.
Also note that the higher capacity charger you purchase the more future proof you are. For example even with a 45w charger you can't charge your pixel 6 more than 30w as that is what your phone software will allow. But at the same time it means you can use the same charger to fast charge one of your latest Samsung devices at full 45w potential via USB C PD PPS (and potentially future Pixels that allow even faster charging).
I have been looking at this one that looks to be compatible. It doesn't have the future proof of the 45w above as it is 30w - but it is relatively cheap.

Even if you plug your 18W charger into your phone it will say charging rapidly. It doesn't mean its charging at the full 30W capacity!
Any USB c charger will eventually charge your phone.

That should do as it has the PD 3.0 standard with PPS. A word of note that you will see 30W chargers just with PD 3.0 but no PPS. These will charge slower than those with PPS but should still be more rapid than the previous gen 18W fast charger.
Ordered the Spigen charger thanks for the recommendation.

Got mine before they removed the 25% discount
Just ordered the Spigen 25% discount £22 bargain thanks for heads up
I have had my eye on that spigen charger for a while now. I am actually a big fan of spigen. I have had every pixel and I have used a spigen case for each one.
I actually don't like using those high amp chargers. I only use them when i am in a pinch like i forgot to charge my phone and i gotta go. I use a chargie with a 1amp usb port on my power strip. And i only charge to 80 percent. Again if i am in a pinch or if i know i will be gone from a charger for more than 10 hours i will charge to 100 but that rarely happens. My pixel 4xl used to last all day plus and I had it for 2 years and when i traded it in the battery was still at 98 percent health.
I have a question though since we are talking about chargers. I have a lenovo chromebook that uses a 45w usb c charger. can i use that on my pixel 6? I have the base model 6 not the pro. Or will that damage it? I would assume that it would be ok but just want a second opinion.

On to Amazon now!
If i ordered today i would be paying around £6 less for two!
This charger oozes quality. It is slightly smaller than the pixel 5 18w charger, comes with a higher quality braided cable, in all much better value than the Google 30w charger.
Indicates it's charging rapidly so hopefully getting full 30w
If you're not testing your charger with a usb C meter of some sort, you're almost certainly not getting 30W.
These pixels appear to have an apple style restriction on chargers. Something many people are missing is that not all PPS chargers are created equally. Google specifies 21v whereas most of the pps chargers on the market top out at 11v.
I've tried 3 different 65W 11v PPS chargers and they all top out at 18-20W.
I then specifically bought a 21v capable charger and still it tops out at 18-20W.
I'm extremely disappointed Google decided to take this anti consumer approach. The chargers I have tried are by all means technologically superior to Google's charger in every way and yet this arbitrary restriction means I'm forced to buy Google's if I want 30W charging.
I can include links/photos/videos if anyone is curious.

I can almost guarantee it's not. It says charging rapidly for anything above 7.5W.

"Up to 45W(5.0V=3.0A, 9.0V=3.0A, 15.0V=3.0A, 20.0V=2.25A, 3.3V-11.0V=3.5A, 3.3V-16.0V=3.0A)"
^ Taken from the amazon page for the Spigen charger.
No support for 21V so no 30W fast charging. Even if it did support 21V, I doubt it would go over 18-20W, based on my findings.
Of course it's ridiculous because even with "only" 20V, the charger can push 2.25A which is more than enough for 30W charging. I don't understand the point of PPS if the voltage/current combinations are not dynamic. The implementation of PPS so far seems to make a mockery of the intended purpose of the standard.
