I'm still upset that Huawei hasn't released the GPU Turbo update for this phone

Honestly, can we do anything? It says in
September 2018, we are supposed to get our GPU Turbo update. Now its December, I feel like suing them for their false claim.
The support for this phone is low as hell

Depends on if the firmware is the same or not. If it's a newer version you should still get an OTA
Surprisingly that it's now December and still no OTA for Lollipop. That's sad of Verizon.
I agree but the build quality and stability have softened my heart some. I just purchased a Verizon branded Z2 tablet for $250 new. I hate to say it but I love it. It is a nice upgrade from my nexus 7 2013. The price is right for a 10 inch in my opinion.
Use to we had to alter the build.prop file to stop the stupid OTA update cue, most of the time we were already ahead of the stock builds, if the update doesn't see the correct build number it will probably trigger an update cue.

I think you'll like it for sure since it does have the real Lollipop firmware. And what I mean is being able to multi-user and the settings icon being Lollipop themed and all.

Are Huawei lying about the hardware?

Hello fellow honor fans!
First of all I just want to say that I love my new honor 7, i'm an old oneplus one user, i'm quite spoiled when it comes to performance.
Anyway i've been running a few benchmark tests reaching a score of 50k on antutu which is decent for a €300 phone. But to my suprise, while testing the device, i saw that the GPU in honor 7 PLK-L01 is a MALI-T624 not MALI-T628 as advertised.
This made me very sceptical because t624 is two times slower than t628. I even tested three different benchmarks and all of em shows the same poor MALI-T624.
So are my fears true? I'll attach some photos of the three benchmarks i ran.
Edit: weird i couldnt upload the pictures..
Kind regards,
Sebastian
I have t624 too

Alright well this wont end well for Huawei if that's the case. Because then i'll return my honor 7 and sue em for false advertising.

There is a difference between Mali-T628 MP4 and Mali-T628. The MP4 version has only 4 GPU Cores instead of 8, being an upgraded verison of the T624 in fact. That's the reason why some apps (like CPU-Z and Antutu) recognise it as Mali-T624.

Exactly, they abandoned my Jide Remix Mini just like that and conveniently shift the blame to the SoC supplier for the lack of newer Android support.
And to top it off, many of the cheapest phone today are already on SoCs with 14nm and 16nm manufacturing process and here we are with Jide Remix IO/IO+ still running on some 28nm crappy SoC.
And the best part is? It's not even shipped yet.

Huawei updating their phones?

A reason I didn't buy the mate 9 was that Huawei were poor with android updates. They said in a recent press event they were going to do this much better. Has anyone noticed if this is the case?
Especially with the mate 10?
Thanks

If you talk about periodic OTA,
We already got like 3-4 OTA since launch.
And if you talk about major android version update,
I think project treble will speed up things
Define poor because compared to other brands, Huawei phones get updates faster. However, even Pixel does not get updates past 2 or 3 years. So you can expect update for 2 years for sure, and beyond that the update will come but only that the schedule will be far behind as all the new flagships will have more priority than the 2 year old phone.
If you mean by security upadates that google constantly pushes, then cannot guarantee you will receive them as frequent as Android pushes them out. You will only get when there is some real known risk to the phone or along with a general rom update.

I've had the 10 Pro since launch and had no updates
---------- Post added at 01:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:57 PM ----------
I've heard those who signed up to Android 8+ have to give more faster updates so beware those still only offering 7
Huawei makes a TON of updates. Usually one update every week for Mate 10 series. It's just that they don't release them.

Not really, I think these just don't pass a full QC control.
And they reccently bricked a big number of european Honor 8 Pro with an update, so maybe not the best timing to rush them
3 1/2 weeks with the Mate 10 pro and nothing so far.

General Pixel 6 March update delayed !

posted on Google Pixel Community just now:
"We have provided the monthly software update for March 2022. All supported Pixel devices running Android 12 will receive these software updates as part of the March 2022 update, which begins rolling out for most users today. The rollout will continue over the next week in phases depending on carrier and device. Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro devices will receive the update later this month."
And it looks like they fixed a lot of stuff too.
Bummer.
Oh boy, they're taking a piss again
I like my P6.....but.....come on Google.......
Check out the long list of fixes, including fingerprint sensor performance!

Definitely not a good look for the flagships to face repeated delays. Phone was announced nearly 5 months ago, right? Sheesh.
I'm guessing that there is something about the Tensor chip that's slowing down the software build process. Note that all the other Pixels have a build number of SP2A.220305.12, the Pixel 6 and Pro have SP2A.220305.013.A3.
Here we go again with the crying and whining.
Gas prices are what you should be crying about.
This is why l came back from OnePlus to get timely updates 🫣

Yeah all the other SOCs are Qualcomm and we essentially have an exynos. But they should have the bugs ironed out by now. I understood at first but it is getting to the point where it is unacceptable. Tensor was supposed to improve updates not hinder them.
Sorry you find that offensive l will edit my post. In my country the UK it doesn't mean the same thing

Mate is a gay slur? Since when? I always thought it was a term of friendliness among guys in other countries like Australia, GB, Ireland etc. usually spoken when at a pub. Perhaps it was from matey, a pirate saying like Ahoy Matey. But I don't know really. Either way we're once again getting screwed by the oligarch oil companies jacking up prices because then they can even pay less taxes than the minus (read subsidized) taxes they now (don't) pay. But I digress... Ok where the heck is the update for those poor folks that have no signal or very intermittent call quality? Thankfully, I'm not in that camp but there are a lot of folks who are and need this update. They already had an extra week due to the date issue and they still couldn't get the update done? I find it unacceptable and this will really hurt their brand outside of us die hards.

I am from the US. A mate is a girl friend, a wife.
Mate means screwing your partner.
So you can understand better, what do animals do when they pair up?
Sigh.......
Anyone know if the March update will bring us 12L?
Yes it is 12L if l am not mistaken

Might be, since all the other pixels are on a 4.x kernel. Only the Pixel 6 and Pro are on a 5.x kernel
"
Kernel update to 4.9.292 for Pixel 3a & Pixel 3a XL.
Kernel update to 4.14.257 for Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL & Pixel 4a.
Kernel update to 4.19.220 for Pixel 4a (5G), Pixel 5 & Pixel 5a (5G).
Kernel update to 5.10.66 for Pixel 6 & Pixel 6 Pro.
