Sixaxis android app - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys. I d like to know if there is a way to make sixaxis app for to work with all roms or it is conpletely up to the rom i m using. What i mean is that for example in miui the sixaxis app cant find my bluetooth adress(all 8 attempts are failing for connection) so i cant make my ps4 controller to connect with my phone.Pure stock androids like pixel experience, omnirom or even sone lineage roms are working with sixaxis app(can find my bluetooth address and connect usually at 2 attempt) but at the moment none is working even from thrm mayby because of pie software. Is there any of you that found a solution to this problem so i dont have to keep changing roms or we are doomed to this problem?? I ve looked all over xda forum and google but havent found any solution and thats why i ipen this thread. I even asked my rom developers but they dont have an answer either. Thanks in advance for your time.

[Q][App] Sixaxis Controller - ROM.

Hi all!
I know it might be a lil odd to be posting this but I kinda really wanna have this app in my phone, lol.
I've tried using CM7.1 "Stable" but realizing it wasn't really stable and yeah, they removed it from being stable after all.
I'm currently using CheckROM HD and it's great! But it wasn't compatible with my controller So here I am, hoping to get some help from you guys ^^
And just one more question: Is Siyah 2.0 or 2.1 working well with CM7.1? I think I read it somewhere Siyah's not on friendly terms with CM7s if I'm not wrong.
I'm using KI4 currently btw. Is it better to change to KH3? Fine I'm sorry that's 3 questions in a row, lol.
Thank you guys for the help!
I’m using MIUI since 1.9.30 (now we are on 1.10.21) and the Sixaxis works pretty well. You should try it (in my opinion, MIUI works best with [URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154299”]this[/URL] app).
I can’t help you with the second question.
For the third one, what do you mean by better? Battery? FCs? I suggest you to find something really stable (as Touch X-Power, MIUI, VR3) and to stay with it till something with Note things (first) or ICS (then) will come out.
Wrong section. This is Development.
If you want to use CM, then use the nightlys. They've been ahead of rc1 since at least 85. Nightlys are currently at #90+
Edit. If you choose to use CM nightly, then use the kernel that comes with the rom.

No, he can use siyah 2.1 (beta) with CM like i'm doing and some hundreds more. It's flawless and the best choice to make.
(see my signature?)
To use the six axis app you need to use an AOSP based rom, like CM or MIUI

With new version it works also on stock

I can now have a good camera, FM radio, and play multiplayer N64 games.... no compromises.. my life is now complete!
sixaxis support was the only thing keeping me on CM7
Thank you so much for the information about the update!
is there a list of fake/aftermarket controller(with store links_ that are compatible with the app?

As long as you didn't use the PS3 controller on your PS3 after it paired with your phone, it should automatically connect over Bluetooth since it was already paired once.
Mindaddig, amíg nem használja a PS3 kontroller a PS3 után csatlakozik a telefonhoz, akkor automatikusan csatlakozik a Bluetooth, mert már egyszer párosított.

[Q] steelseries FREE mobile wireless controller

Today I've bought the steelseries FREE gamepad for playing games on my HTC One X+.
I'm running the latest 4.2.2 AOKP version (20130224) by maxwen (I've also tried it on official Slim Bean 4.2.1 by bedalus), but the phone doesn't seem to be able to connect to the gamepad. When I try to pair it the gamepad is moved to the list of pairing-devices, then it says "connecting..." for about one second and then nothing happens and the device isn't connected.
Then I've tried to pair it to my iPad (i know there are two different settings on the controller for Android and iOS and of course I changed them before attempting to connect to different devices) and it worked fine, but my HOX+ doesn't build up a connection.
Is it because I'm running a Custom ROM, because in all of the reviews of the gamepad I've seen the people were using stock roms (or roms build on stock roms maybe? but I don't think so)?
Can anybody help me connecting the gamepad to my phone?
Edit: Now I've downloaded the steelseries app from the play store, but also nothing happens. The gamepad is still under the pairing-devices, the app acts like there was connected a steelseries gamepad at least once but the log is empty and I also can't configurate anything.
Edit: Now I've tried out various ROMs, 4.2 ones: CM10.1, AOKP, SlimBean and 4.1 ones: CM 10, ParanoidAndroid. And the connection was built up on all of the 4.1 ROMs but on none of the 4.2 ROMs. So I guess there's something wrong with the Android 4.2 ROMs or the gamepad isn't able to connect to 4.2 ROMs.. So is there any possibility (maybe a hidden setting or something) to play my games with my gamepad on a 4.2 ROM because actually I don't want to miss the features of 4.2...
Have you tried a sense rom?
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda premium
Yes, but there are no Sense rom available with Android 4.2 and the AOSP roms based on 4.1 have always been working. Found out it was a issue based on Bluetooth in Android 4.2 (has been completely reworked, some profiles are missing, as well as the HDI-profile which is used for things like that).
But the next kernel from maxwen will have this feature implented so the problem is solved now and the gamepad (as well as a ps3 controller or somthing like that) will probably also work on every 4.2 AOSP rom available for the HOX+, I think the thread can be closed?

WiiU Pro Controller

Hi, I've been trying for like five straight days to figure out a method to get the WiiU Pro Controller to work with my HTC One and I've had no luck. The problem is that I need a pin to enter on my phone to pair it when in reality you don't and that's the problem. I can't find a way to bypass not entering a key. I've tried everything and have failed, I'd pay to see someone to get this to work and I think this could be the place. Any help?
Same here. I am looking and will report back if I find something
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 2
Anybody have info on this? I have had no luck with the PS3 controller or the Wii U Pro controller and would love a solution.
I don't have any experience with the WiiU Pro controller but Android 4.2 broke Wiimote support. I am running a 4.1 ROM to use a Wiimote for games. Also I used to own an HTC device and Sense wasn't compatible with Wiimotes and I had to switch to CM to use one but that was ages ago.. Food for thought.
Hey there,
I've lately been exploring the true potential of the Wii U Pro Controller. So far I have been able to pair it with PC and utilize it flawlessly with a Steam game (Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition), so I've moved on to see it's capabilities in the android world.
I've done quite a bit of research and can confirm the only way you can possibly utilize this controller up till today is with an app that specifically claims to support it. At the moment the only known ones are any of Robert Broglia's apps. He has managed to incorporate a feature called "Scan for Wiimotes/iCP/JS1" which works like magic with the Wii U Pro Controllers. I have been able to connect 4 controllers to it just by enabling the scan and pressing the "Sync" button on each controller. Unfortunately though this doesn't actually "pair" the controllers per say, it seems like it's only a very temporary connection which disappears once you press Home button or exit the app. This limits you to only SNES/GB and the other few apps he has but hey at least it's a start.
Now moving onto the actual "pairing" side of things - I have recently downloaded a number of bluetooth manager apps and joystick input apps to experiment with, and using a combination of a few, I was able to somehow pair the controller!
[See attached, noobs aren't allowed to post URLs ]
HOWEVER - unfortunately I have tried using it with a few apps (mainly N64 ones) and it seems to be totally unresponsive. Either that or perhaps I'm not using the correct Joystick button mapping apps...
Btw I'm still using 4.1.2, during my research I've noticed a lot of people on 4.2 have been unsuccessful with most of what I've mentioned above...

Do you happen to remember the name of the apps that allowed you to pair the controller? Are you able to use the Dpad and buttons within an app normally, just without the use of the analogue sticks?
I love the Wii U Pro controller and I am trying everything to get it to work with my device. Like you said, only the .emu apps work.
The devices that worked were:
Hisense Sero 7 Pro
Galaxy S Blaze 4G

Unfortunately, I dont remember
No, regardless of it being paired, there is not a single way I can use it, all four lights on the controller remain blinking (probably normal till an intended-for-use app instructs it to light only 1 LED), and whatever app I try to use it with, won't register or recognize any keypresses.

I assume your Android OS version is later than 4.1.2?
Supposedly this works, but you may need to attach a bluetooth dongle to your device (yes, even though it already has bluetooth built in):

is this the app?

This might help anybody having pairing issues. My nabi 2 has an option for ''bluetooth time out'' before changing it to ''never off'' i couldn't pair my phone. Afterwards it paired effortlessly.

ps3 controller on Custom rom

I understand the Xperia Z ultra stock rom has the ability to connect a PS3 controller.
Is this something that can be ported to a 3rd party ROM?
is there any apk somewhere for this?
thanks

Creating a Marshmallow-compatible Sixaxis alternative

Hi All,
I have a PS4 controller that I've been using between my Nexus 6 and Shield tablet using the Sixaxis Controller app. When my N6 got Marshmallow, Sixaxis stopped working and instead showed these errors when starting up
Code:
Could not load bluetooth library...
Error: Failed to configure bluetooth...
Could not load HCI library...
Some posts online said it might be because the app needed to request new permissions for api 23. I've tried decompiling, adding the permission, and recompiling with APK Studio. I also installed it as a system app. No change, still broken.
With no word from the Sixaxis dev months after 6.0's release, my question is: what would it take to write a Marshmallow-compatible Sixaxis alternative? I have some experience writing apps, but haven't touched JNI/NDK. Also, I've been doing some research on the history of Bluez vs. Bluedroid and it looks like there aren't really any equivalents to hcitool and hcidump for Bluedroid.
To clarify, the goal is only to get the controller to connect to the system. I'm not interested in the touch mapping, mouse emulation, or other extra features.
I'm interested in it too, don't know why no one ever replied. We can try to make an open sourced app.
Is there any document about the protocol used by PS3 controller? Seems like PS3 controller use some incompatible bluetooth protocol, I used Sixaxis app before, when I connected PS3 controller using BT, all other BT devices were dropped.
I am also getting this issue. No responses?
I have the same problem. any solution?
Yes please, not that I can help, but it'd be greatly appreciated.
Bump
Still nothing? It wouldn't be as bad but the native DS4 pairing mode sucks so bad on Android (Massive input delay after 30 seconds)
EDIT: Their website 404's... http://dancingpixelstudios.com/sixaxiscontroller/about.html
they are alredy working on it http://dancingpixelstudios.com/2016/02/05/migration-to-wordpress/
Love this app. I'm glad he still rocking. Google should just buy him out and implement this into their future OS... Give this man a job!
I am also having the same problem on HTC one m8 with gpe 6.0 rom.
Any news?
So far I have seen no update, but on his site he says he is working on it.
looks like there is no update for this
Is there any alternative available for this?
It' been months and still no update. Does someone know any alternative solution or app?
