Tx3 max s905w only 720p resolution in kodi - Android Stick & Console AMLogic based Computers

I cannot change the resolution in kodi to fullhd
Options are grayed out.
Is there a wat to force fullhd?
I installed the dualos firmware, and librexec plays in 1080p Just fine

You have to use a rooted device and app for changing resolution on kodi only

Set the appropriate resolution in Android settings and then reboot. The Kodi should then pick it up.

Xperia x10 video converter

i want video converter for my xperia x10 ??
Thanks
Google it ;-)
Doesn't Media Go on PC companion convert stuff?
Rockplayer app from market to play vids on phone?
I use 4media video converter ultimate. There is a option to use the Nexus One Profile and all required to do is change the video size to 800x400 and its a perfect fit.
Google --> videora

I use Videora with a custom profile (480 x 854), which is a perfect fit.
i use SUPER
but can anyone give me the optimum resolution / framerate for conversion ?

Google -> Handbrake....
There: iPhone Preset with some little changes:
Framerate like source, screenratio like said before, 2-pass encoding at 1500 - 2000 kb/s, Sound at 2-ch + 192kb/s played on RockPlayer.

Just setup a custom profile. Use Magic say then customize it how you like, hit edit profile and under video you can type in whatever resolution you want.
I'm using Xilisoft Video Convertor. Been using it since my K750i days. Still a happy user =D

Why take all the pain bro.
Just install mobo player (free) from market.
In the settings, just select default soft decoding.
Drag and drop any files you want (read it as literally any video formats except very old ones like .vob and stuff).
Just play it.
And the quality is awesome !
there's no way to convert videos direclty ON the phone ? i guess CPU power is to low... or maybe over Multimedia processor which encodes the Video recording ?
Simple:
Freemake Video Converter
- very user friendly interface
- supports a wide range of input formats
- hassle-free
- can burn in subs but not as good as HandBrake does; styled subs are messed up
Advanced:
HandBrake
- supports burning in embedded SSA subs in mkv files
- supports a wide range of input formats
- truckload of options for x264
- fully multithreaded (you got 8 cores? it'll use it)
Which one do I use? Both.
If I want to encode a certain part (trim) of a video, I use Freemake.
If I want to encode my anime (and burn in the subtitles), I use HandBrake.
They are both well-written. Plus, you can even put 1920x87 as the resolution.
The X10 can decode both H.264 and MPEG4. If you experience stuttering and lag while playing, tell me and I'll upload a possible fix. Z's audio lag fix and custom ROMs are the cause.
Hope this helps.

[Q] HDMI scaling problem since 4.2?!

I have a Sony Xperia Tablet Z (1920x1200). With original 4.1.2 it would correctly scale the picture to 1920x1080 when connected to my TV with MHL/HDMI-adaptor. Since 4.2 and now with 4.3 update it will not change the resolution and displays a squeezed 1920x1200 picture on my TV. So the aspect ratio is corrupt, making wide faces etc. when watching photos or movies.
Sony says that it is Google's fault.
The Xperia Tablet Z has a hidden service menu where I can change the HDMI resolution but it is set as 1920x1080 as standard, and changing this to 720p does not correct the aspect ratio issue.
I have bought the app Screen Settings from Forbitel, and I have also tried other resolution changer apps, since I am rooted and have Busy box installed.
I am able to change resolution to 1920x1080, which displays correctly at my Tablet Z (it leaves 120 pixels unused =black bars at top and bottom) BUT when connected to my TV it will still only display a squeezed 1920x1200 picture on TV screen!
Why has Google removed the scaling from 4.2 when it was working perfect in 4.1.2?
Any information regarding this or ideas how to fix it would be much appriciated! Thanks!

Tanix TX3 Mini TV Box based on the new Amlogic S905W

So, there is a new SoC about to heat the markets. Amlogic is trying to beat the RK3229 (low cost processor) and attacks with the S905W.
Amlogic S905W is almost same as S905X but they removed something to decrease its price but without affect too much to the normal users. This case, they removed the [email protected] and it works up to [email protected] For streamers this feature is not a big problem and they can get a powerful box under lower price.
Oh, and it supports Android 7.1.1
First TV Box featuring S905W is the Tanix TX3 Mini. Here some pictures:

When the mecool m8s pro plus is only $4 more, i dont know why people would buy this one?
mecool m8s pro plus has widevine and hdcp, no other box under $70 dollars has that.
I bought this device and make an unboxing video. It has HDMI-CEC feature and it is much cooler than S912 based TV Boxes. If your expectations are not too high, S905W would be a good and cool solution. Here is the unboxing video:

I have one. The UI was rendered @ 720p to avoid performance issues, but it does not downscale FHD videos to HD, that's not true. Local videos @ 1080p will play at 1080p, same for 4k but only if they're at a max of 30fps.
In recent updates they changed because it caused issues with YouTube and other streaming apps. The streaming apps that detected the UI @ 720p, rendered at a max of 720p, so, after some complaints, they removed that restriction.
The box comes pretty much uncluttered, with only a pre-installed version of Kodi, a working Play Store and not much else besides stock apps. It's pre-rooted, SELinux in permissive, which seems to be the norm on these cheap boxes.
The worst thing is overheating. It easily goes up to 80+ Celsius, so i changed CPU management settings in the Governor, limited max clock to 1Ghz and deactivated one of the cores (using KAM). Performance still good and temp is around 65 now. Unfortunately, one of the USB's is already fried after just 1 week, i suspect the overheating issue.

If you play the attached video on your PC connected to a 1080p monitor, you'll see that the field "1080" has a 1-pixel-precise pattern, but if you play it with this crappy box on the same monitor that field is made of thicker lines (2 pixel width). To be honest, i admit I didn't try the latest firmware, but i doubt that they changed anything in that respect. Most people can't see the difference, or they don't want to see, between a 1080 and a 720 video. But the difference is quite noticeable if you want to us the box for web browsing sitting close to the monitor.

Is this zip file flashable within the box itself? I just can't work with the flash tool and that stupid method to plug usb at the same time as power plug, tried a million times with the img files and just couldn't update.
I just received this item from [email protected], tested with videoprojector 1080P and youtube, it looks fine (I'm not a video maniac, I just need it to see netflix and co., no 4K...) and I bought an Alfawise S95 that should be exatly the same (maybe without optical out and smaller, that make me afraid abaout temperature, Tanix is VERY hot!).
I have 3 questions:
1-I can't find the root settings, do I need to install supersu?
2-Actually I NEED magisk systmless root, not a classic root, due to 2 streaming apps that doesn't works with classic root (and home banking too) is there a way to remove the root and patch the boot.img, maybe the one from the new beta firmware?
3-I can turn root OFF and application won't use/see it?
Thank you!
does it Support 5.1 Surround Sound Output?
becouse has spdif output...but at specs doesnt say anything...but tanix tx3 max supports..and i cant understand the differences between tanix tx3 mini and tanix tx3 max

Alfawise S95 mounts TX3 Mini motherboard, then, size and connectors are same.
Probably your firmware is not updated yet. You can upgrade to this version (I recommend you OPTION A):
BETA Firmware Available for testing 20171220
_______________________________________
Assuming 20171107 is the latest stable version available, these are the changes:
Root ON/OFF menu option added at Settings
New Auto Frame-Rate menu option added at Settings
Video layer improvement (fixed a 720p downscale bug)
Mouse pointer resized
Corrections from a new Amlogic's SDK
Improved WiFi throughput
Some other video improvements
Youtube 1080p setting has been fixed with 20171107
HOW TO UPDATE:
OPTION A) Upgrade from TF card or USB memory by using "Update" APP
1. Copy the .ZIP file to your TF Card.
2. Insert the card in the TX3 Mini.
3. Open "Update" APP (already preinstalled).
4. Press "Select" button and choose the .ZIP file
5. Press "Update" button and wait. The box will reboot and upgrade.
- If something goes wrong, try again.
You can get the .ZIP file here: - DOWNLOAD ZIP BETA FIRMWARE -
OPTION B) Flash from computer by USB port using "Burning Tool" software
1. Download the IMG file.
2. Follow this tutorial. It is same process for this model.
- If something goes wrong, try again or choose "Force Erase" option.
You can get the .IMG file here: - DOWNLOAD IMG BETA FIRMWARE -
You will find the Root ON/OFF switch at: Settings > Common > More Settings > Superuser
You can have a try :good:

That did the trick, updated flawlessly, thank you! Finally i can have my box updated, and YouTube in FHD runs smoothly. TV Streaming in FHD also runs smoothly but HW decoder needs to be selected in MX Player options. And no, the box does not downscale FHD because the difference is very very noticeable between HD and FHD on both scenarios.
My broblem is:is it a systemlessroot, can i use magisk to hide the root? Here in italy 90% of pay streaming services won't works with common root, only hiding it with magisk... Well, actually if turning root off doesn't reset the device, maybe I can switch it on or off when I need to use apps that refuse to works with root... Could it work?
Last question:firmwares are interchangeable with alphawise s95 (exactly same specification)
I have no brightness settings after last update.

16:10 resolutions?

Hi,
Im trying to setup a X96 mini to my liking. I connected it directly to a 24" 16:10 monitor. Im not aiming to play movies or anything like that, but want to display music sheets as pdf via the adobe reader app in 16:10 ratio.
It seems the box always forces a 16:9 ratio, as this is what the monitor is showing (FHD). I was able to change the resolution via a command prompt app. I tried different resolutions like 1920x1200, 1280x800 or even 1920x1080, but anything different then 1280x720 squeezes the image to non-fullscreen. I wouldnt mind a lower resoultion, but atm I have no idea how to output a 16:10 resolution at all.
Any ideas are highly appreciated, thanks!

HDR content, how to read files?

Hello.
I was wondering if some of you found a way to read x265 files with 10bit HDR content bt.2020.
Using the native video app or VLC, I just got a grey-ish screen like I have when watching the movie on my SDR computer screen. The native app didn't even decode the soundtrack (aac I think). Any clue?
I use a mobile version of Kodi, hdr works very well, mxplayer work . Besides I do not have any problem playing hdr on VLC either. Regardles to vlc you may consider turning YUV (FORCES CHROMA) In setting, advanced,
Ps sony Xperia one pick brights is not as high to fulfill full gamet of hdr , although do not qoute me on that
I will try those one, thank you.
I suppose it's about the codec used. I'll try another file

That a files format I use and plays perfect
I tried Kodi and MX player, and run the same as VLC:
SDR:
Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 1920x808 23.976fps [V: English [eng] (h264 high L4.1, yuv420p, 1920x808) [default]]
Audio: DTS 48000Hz 6ch 1536kbps [A: English [eng] (dts, 48000 Hz, 5.1, 1536 kb/s)]
HDR:
Video: HVC1 1920x804 23.976fps [V: Avengers Infinity War 2018 x265 1080p HDR10 [fre] (hevc main 10, yuv420p10le, 1920x804) [default]]
Audio: DD+ 48000Hz 6ch 512kbps [A: VFF EAC3 7.1 [fre] (eac3, 48000 Hz, 5.1, 512 kb/s) [default]]
HDR content here is really darker. But I was wrong, it's not grey-ish like on my SDR computer monitor. I have to set the brightness at the maximum to watch the HDR movie, and be in the dark. Well, the trailer of spiderman far from home bundled in the phone goes the same way (Video: HVC1 3840x1644 23.976fps 12480kbps [V: video handler (hevc main 10, yuv420p10le, 3840x1644, 12480 kb/s)])… I'm in creator mode, but maybe I messed up other settings?
It's boring, but I'll try a factory reset to be sure.
EDIT: nothing after a factory reset. Maybe I just need to put the briightness at the max for HDR content to have enought output for the light peaks.
Ok, so it was just a misunderstanding from myself. HDR file should be watched with brightness at 100%. It will not use that much Energy since the movie is purposely darker, allowing brightness peak on some part of the screen. Just watched Shazam in full blu-ray iso and it was really great. Beautiful screen. I need a 2To SD card tho xD

After latest update, phone automatically turn brightness to 100% for HDR content. At least this has been consistent with YouTube HDR videos.

I'll see that when I'll get the update. Not really a matter since it's just a swipe on the screen with VLC. Just a shame VLC is not 4k. I have my 4K video downscaled to the app to be read on a 4k screen -_- (proof is if I set the zoom to "centered", the image is twice time bigger than the screen, it should be perfectly displayed if it was 4k on 4k).

I may find a solution for the problem, the sony xperia one is running at 21:9 version of the 1080p which is not really hdr standard, try to turn off the game enhancement , it will switch back to native 21:9 4k it should switch to natively hdr... I have disable that on the very first day of mobile phone usage since I do not game on my phone.

Thanks, but are you sure game enhencer is used even when it's not displaying the game enhancer settings and with app that are not on the game enhancer list?
Anyway, I disabled it and VLC is still in 2K (I never had game enhancer working with this app since it show a big round Rainbow on the corner of the screen when game enhancer is working).
And I'm positive it's 2K and not FHD, the 4k movie are only cut by half. And it's logical since most phone work in 2k so VLC was developped with that in mind. Xperia 1 use the max setting available on an app till 4k.
Anyway, pentile 4k is really crisp and it's ok for me.
About HDR, just set the brithness to maximum to allow the phone to use enought power for bright peak. The rest of the scene is purposely dark because of this.
