Tested and confirmed to both charge and play music at the same time. This link is NOT endorsed, it is paid for out of my own pocket at the risk of it not working...but it does!
Anyone who also has real world hands on experience with another working device for this phone, feel free to post your reviews here, with a link to purchase if possible
Edit- I just found out today that if you try to make a phone call with a headset that has the three rings on the plug, the microphone does not work, therefore the caller does not hear you talking. However, it does work with the dongle supplied by razer that comes with the phone

Thanks for testing this! I had read in a couple places that people were unsure if the phone even supported this. I saw a post on Reddit with a screenshot from Razer support in which they said it wasn't possible. I'm glad you have actually tried it out.
https://www.reddit.com/r/razerphone...phones_plugged_in_and_charging_while_playing/
Edit: now I'm wondering if the post was referring to the original Razer phone. I haven't looked to see if that one supports it yet.

Thanks. I was the one that posted about it on reddit. Christmas gift cards will probably be going to this

Anyone know of any others that will work, this one is no longer available on Amazon.

I'm a bit late now that the one in OP isn't available but I bought one and confirm it works.

I would assume that if it says it'll work on the pixel 2/3 and is highly reviewed it should work for the Razer.

I have this one I bought for my old HTC U11.It didn't work for that phone, but works great on my RP2. Just tested again to verify that it does charge and play audio at the same time and it totally does. 40 bucks is a lot to pay for the ability to charge and listen to wired headphones at the same time, but that is the world we live in now, I guess.

EDIT: I just saw that Moshi released an updated version, also 40 bucks that is available from the Google store and the Moshi website. I have the old version, so i don't know if the new one works, but I would assume it does. The link I gave is for the older model, which I know works, but also has terrible reviews, so YMMV.

UPDATE: For anyone still looking for a 3.5 jack and Type-C USB adapter to charge and listen at the same time on the Razer Phone 2, I just bought the upgraded version of the Moshi USB-C Digital Audio adapter with 3.5 jack and it works EXCELLENT!
IN FACT... I normally use a Sennheiser HD-1 in-ear headphones with my Razer Phone 2... but I also have a Razer Kraken Pro V2 over-ear headphones that I normally use for PC and PS4. On the phone, they just don't sound good AT ALL... but with this upgraded Moshi Adapter, I can now use my Razer Kraken Pro V2 headphones on my cellphone! The sound isn't as good as my in-ear headset... but it seems to be working fine. I called my voicemail and I could hear fine... I just have no idea if the mic works with phone or not.. haven't tried that part yet.
Here's the link for the adapter on google express! https://express.google.com/u/0/product/7077650855955818041_8464158161035566408_100615687

What part number is the new version? I'm in Canada and can't get it off Google Express so I'm looking directly at Moshi.
This is the one they are showing, no indication if it's the updated version or not.

useful 3.5mm adapter
Hi guys,
I just bought a multifunctional adapter for my phone. This way, i can connect my Mogul to my sound system in my Smart Car. it's helpful. Here is the link from where I bought it:
http://www.moguldepot.com/htc-multifunction-audio-adapter/11A75A4401.htm
FYI, it seems to work for earspeaker; but, it doesn't seem to direct sound from loudspeaker applications.
If anyone know how to redirect loudspeaker to 3.5mm, let us know.

Try this

The strap comes off and its a very neat solution if you dont want a mike.
USE Bluetooth
There are so many bluetooth stero headphones.
Much better. You can still take or make calls.
I have sony HBH-DS205. Works great. You can connect any other headphone or even connect to you home theatre systme (with one extra bit of connector).
£1.99
I got one off ebay from a chinese seller for £1.99 i was the only bidder and received it within about 15 days from china and works a treat.
EBAY
guys guys. Just go to ebay and you will get it very cheap. Why would you pay 5X more for same product made in same country.
Basically two good options, either use this:

or somthing from ebay. I managed to pick up an adaptor for £0.99.

Mini USB to 3.5mm audio adaptor
I'm wondering is the Mini USB to 3.5mm audio adaptor for HTC Jade is something different as compare to any other phone.

My WING came with one, my G1 did not, are you sure yours had a CHARGER adaptor?? This looks good and sells on eBay for $5.50 total. Search for : HTC Touch Pro Diamond mini USB, 3.5mm Audio Adapter
Shouldn't HTC just put this $5.50 adaptor in the phone? Unbelievable!
Combine with with a carcharger and last.fm & streamfurious on your phone and VOILA you have SIRIUSXM except with thousands of channels as long as you are within cellphone Edge/3G service.
For a headphone only option (not recommended as you drain your battery so fast its not even funny) you can try this one for 45 cents SHIPPED:
Search for: 3.5mm USB Audio Adapter for HTC Touch Diamond PPC-6800 on eBay and the seller is gpslot

RC E100 for the G1?
Hihi, I recently bought the HTC RC E100 (http://www.blueunplugged.com/p.aspx?p=137320). On that site it says that G1 works with it. But it doesn't? I tried it, and sound still comes out of the speakers.
Now it said that I need a driver from the disc or from the HTC site. I tried to install that, but it says that the phone is already updated and needn't update anymore.
Does anyone else have this headset, and have it working on their G1's? Thanks!
edit: Well upon researching, apparently it doesn't work. Stupid misleading site is misleading.
There was a set of headphones that came with the G1, you should see if you can get those or see if tmobile will give you some for free if they didnt come with yours.
I was almost tempted to purchase these or get the doopad ones(rc-w100) off amazon for a little cheaper. I was wondering if the g1 will even be able to have this function through the ext.usb? I know the drivers for winmo phones won't work but is there even the slightest bit of possibilities?
I know A2DP is comming for bluetooth but is there going to be an AVRCP profile also?
Apple In-Ear Headphones on Dream G1
Anyone had a chance to try it out?
I can't seem to find a single post anywhere talking about what the music quality is like or whether any advanced features like volume control work or whether calls work using the microphone.
Side story: I went into the Apple store to try it out and the store nazi said I could not try them on due to hygiene reasons. Fair enough, but he then even declined taking them out of the packaging so that I could just handle them and talk into it on a call to see if it worked. So instead I handled the box instead, ShopSavvy scanned it and then accidentally dropped it onto the somewhat dirty floor. Oops.

2-in-1 [USB Mini/3.5 MM] adapter

So I just purchased this handy little adapter which takes the USB port on the bottom of the G1 and turns it into a USB Mini jack and a 3.5 MM headphone jack. Why go to all this trouble? So I can charge AND play music at the same time
I bought this little piece of wonder off of Amazon for $6 including shipping, and it arrived in 3 business days. I'm really glad I bought it! Here's the review I posted on Amazon:
This is truly a neat little device. I often want to play music in my room over my T-Mobile G1, and it's a battle of charge versus play. I have to make sure that if I do play music, I'll have time afterwords to charge back up. Not the case anymore! I'm able to play music and charge my phone at the same time.
The adapter is very compact for what it does; it looks much bigger in the pictures than it actually is. It's about the size of a quarter, and a little longer width-wise. Sound quality is great; compared to the stock adapter that comes with the G1, I found that bass frequencies are carried much more better and with a little more "oompf". I found a lot more power for my system, and it works great.
The build quality is what you would expect; plastic build with very solid adapter ports. I don't expect it to break at all. The phone charges at the same rate of speed as normal, even with playing music. The port that plugs into the phone is the proprietary port that the G1 has, and the "out" USB port is your typical mini-USB port.
Overall, it's a great product, and a must have for all G1 users!

Did you try switching earbuds? Haha sounds simple...but I have this really bad luck with audio devices, that eventually everyone I have I break the soldering points that connect the jack to the circuit board, and I always loose an ear of sound. It's just odd...but that could be it as well.

I bought this and it works with every rom I've tried. Cyanogen, JAC, JF.
I also needed an extension so I could hard wire my charger and line in behind my car dash with only one lead showing and the HTC adaptor has about an inch of cable between the EXTUSB and the adaptor itself. I hunted high and low but could only find one company who could do it and it were these guys.
Jays Earphones
I want one of these but it's much too thick for what I wanted it for (I only want music), Isn't there one that has only mini USB to 3.5 mm? I thought I had seen one a while ago.
I got one made by HTC when I got my Wing a couple years ago. It works great on my G1 and my MT. It is super handy to have it you listen to a lot of music
got a link where I could get one?
def. getting this tonight
Tried this on a friends G1 (stock T-mobile firmware lastest updates) and it does not come up with a headset icon like it does on my touchdiamond2. Does this mean it does not work or is the headset icon just for when you have a microphone attached?
i've noticed on the HTC one that the 3.5mm headset jack doesnt work. you need to use the adapter cable that came with the phone and plug it into the headphone port on the htc adapter.

Headphones for U11

The U11 will come with an active noise cancelling headphones. That's nice for listening on the air plane. But, if I watch movies or listen to music on a long flight, the phone may not have much juice left by the time I land. Is there anything that would allow charging and listening to headphones at the same time?

My impression, based on the HTC video, was that it's the microphones on the handset that receive the ambient sounds that are then cancelled out. If that is so would this not mean that any headphones connected would provide some noise cancelling capability (the function being carried out on the handset rather than the normal (in headset) method).
I understand that the HTC U11 headphones have mics on them and via the USB-C send that signal back to the phone for processing.
That's why the headphone replacement cost is still sub US$50.
It makes perfect sense and does away with the battery that usually come with ANC headphones. (http://us.akg.com/all-headphones/in-ear/N20+NC.html?dwvar_N20 NC_color=Black#start=1)
And apparently they are reporting now that the noise canceling function of the included headphones only works with this phone.

The headphones should work on any USB-C enabled phone (including the U Ultra), but the Noise Cancelling is a feature built into the U11.
You cant take it away from HTC to make available the U11 replacement headsets that support Active Noise Cancellation for under US$50.
The only other Smartphone that shipped with ANC headphones (in selected regions) was the Sony Xperia Z2 along with the Sony Digital Noise Cancelling Headset MDR-NC31EM that achieve similar benefits with the phone handling the ANC wizardy.

I found a solution for this. I was searching for USB C Hub and found some have pass through USB-C PD ports. There are different options in the hub. Some have HDMI output, Ethernet, SD card reader.... and they're expensive. I got one with just USB 3.1 ports for only $9.00 from Amazon. There problem is USB 3.1 ports are all Type A connectors. So, I have to get an USB 3.0 Type A Male to USB 3.1 Type C Female Converter Adapter, another $6.00 from Amazon. After that, I tested on the Google Pixel phone and the JBL Reflect Aware C Earphones. They work perfectly. The phone is charged in rapid mode and the headphones noice consolation works. Now, the hub and the adaptor is a little big and I will have to deal with it. it's not too bad when sitting still on the airplane seat. The more expensive hubs may be more compact.

This sounds promising, but doesn't really tell you if the USonic headphones will work with U11 in a similar setup.

This is the hub I tested: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZONJ20/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Smaller hub (ordering): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B..._title_dp_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1UF68VVAYTLD5
Type A to Type C Adapter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M7Q42QV/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The headphones: JBL Reflect Aware C Earphones. $200 at HTC but I paid $50 from A4C.com last month.
The smaller one doesn't work (link below). The charge shows up as "Charge slowly" or just "Charge" without "Rapid" after unplug/plug a few times. The phone doesn't recognize the headphone when plug in to the USB-A port. I'm returning it. That's too bad because the size of it is much smaller than the other one and it looks much better too. . Do not buy it...

From the reviews I've seen the noise cancelling is negligible and enhanced more by the ear plug's noise isolation. Great for day to day listening in a noisy office but not great for plane or train rides. I'll stick to my Bose for noise cancelling on flights and use included headphones for day to day use.
Hi,
I picked up my U 11 a couple of days ago.
Using the U11 on the train worked very well. You can tell the difference when ANC is ON or OFF.
I would say it's comparable to my Sony Bluetooth Active Noise Cancelling Headphones.

Q for ya: What do you think of the JBL Reflect Aware headphones? I'm looking to pick them up. Thanks for the link. They are still only $59 which is much better than $200.

This goes for anybody else who has or had these headphones with the HTC 10. Any thoughts about it?

If you get them for $59 then not bad at all. I have mine and they are good.

Well my carrier sent me the JBL E55BT as a gift on top of my U11. Got to say as I'm not the most audiophile: I really love them! Good sound regarding all frequencies, at least in my humble opinion.

Great thanks. The A4C.com site had them at that price so I went ahead and ordered a pair.

Solution: Poor quality audio and low volume usb-c to 3.5mm output

When i got the P20 Pro in October i was astonished at how BAD the audio quality and volume output was. That was using the supplied official usb-c to 3.5mm cable of course.
I found the same using the P30 Pro using the same cable.
Then i discovered there is cables out there with much better DAC's in the cables - as its digital to analogue cable. Bottom line problem solved....deep bass, clear mids, and sweet treble.
This is the cable i got https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07KW3XYQX

To be honest i havent tried with headphones - i use the phone mainly in the car for music using the AUX input to the sound system. It was really bad quality before i got the new cable. Transformed the sound completely, like buying a new hifi lol.
The headphones i do use tend to require an amp to get the most out of them, AKG K550 and Sennheiser HD590......
I am surprised that none of the reviews picked up on this cable short coming, particularly in the P20 Pro reviews since it comes with a cable.....

I have their wireless headphones, Freelace, but it's annoying because when using on my P30 Pro the sound vs video is delayed (1-2 seconds). Tryed in dev option to change codec, but still an issue. I hoped that in EMUI 10 they will sort it out, but is the same. And seeing your post made me remember of my AKG from Samsung headphones, to give them a chance since they are never used
Yeah, strange. Maybe no one had any interests in promoting this cable or no one ever care
Gonna give it a try (when back in stock).
Thanks again

there are several other cables you could try also which feature the same thing. for reference mine was priced around £8-9. I have seen some price around £30. When i ordered i thought hmmm no way the cheaper cable will work but it did.
