Closed per OP request
I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE AND/OR DATA LOSS AS A RESULT OF FLASHING THIS ROM !!!
PLEASE PERFORM FULL BACKUP IN THE MICRO SD CARD OR IN AN EXTERNAL STORAGE BEFORE YOU TRY !!!
Do you need reliability and predictability? Then better stay with THIS ROM
I have decided to create a separate thread because:
- I would like to distinguish PIE BETA bug reports from my normal (OREO stable) thread, mentioned above
- It is normal that there will be definitely much more "bad reports" here, because most of them will be "beta related"
This thread will be closed when Samsung will release stable Android Pie (One UI)
Everything you will need to know about DevBase ROM in general - you will find in my stable thread (mentioned above)
Differences comparing to stable Oreo DevBase ROM:
- No AppLock (yet)
- No Xposed (we need to wait for rovo89)
Note 9 (SM-N960F/DS):
>> N960FXXU2CRLT_DevBase_v6.0.zip << (updated Jan-05, more info HERE)

Dirty flash over my Oreo DevBase ROM SHOULD WORK WITHOUT ISSUES but before you try - I would highly recommend you to set default (stock) theme and default (stock) icons !!! However - I would recommend you clean install (Wipe -> Swipe to Factory Reset is enough)
Known issues:
- [CLEAN INSTALL] Magisk Manager may not appear after clean install despite Magisk has been installed without errors during install - if you notice that there is no Magisk Manager - DO NOT flash Magisk, it is enough to (re)install Magisk Manager as normall app - use ATTACHMENT (it is original apk from Magisk v18.0)
- OEM unlock toggle seems to be disabled in the Developer Options but it is not true (otherwise you would not be able to use TWRP and this ROM). It is side effect of protection I put in the kernel against "KG State: Prenormal" in the DM mode. It is not real issue, just ignore it.
Thanks to:
- all users mentioned in my main thread
- @asc1977 for share me N960F pure dump
- @dr.ketan for share me N960F modem dump

I'm gonna try it now but may i know whether is this rom de-bloated? Looks like i'm the first to your new thread.

Everything you need to know about this ROM you can find in my main thread, linked in post #1 (including v6.0 changelog).
By default it is debloated very slightly - only social and Microsoft apps have been removed (plus some critical and/or not working knox related stuff)

Great to see! Kudos

For external SD card - after clean install you need to tap on the SD Card in notification panel ("Configure") and then select "Mobile Storage"
For other issues - please post here /data/devbase_install.log file - I need to check if it is an installation failure or maybe something else

I've put into the smartphone a new sd card.......I tapped the notification and then I've formatted it but no sd card is detected!

Thanks for your hard work and I'm sure for those who doesn't care about stability will be happy to this
For me.. I won't use it.. and I will stay with OREO until Samsung releases the official stable PIE and once Samsung releases it... I will wait even more for your PIE stable release before jumping to PIE wagon
I always prefer clean & stable rom and then I customize it by my liking I even get files from alexega © Project Note9 at 4pda Russian forums... and I make different kinds of combinations... it is like remix ROM
Thank you!

BTW. Interesting thing is that DL counter exceeded 100 and only 3 persons reported issues. Is there a person for whom ROM is working without mentioned issues? (I mean initial version)

I downloaded early morning (local time here) but didn't have time to install, so I didn't have any chance to encounter the issue.

Just flashed dirty over ver.5.9 without any issues.
Everything runs smoothly.

Just tested chromecast support, working fine for casting video and audio, but unfortunately can't cast screen
While activating "Cast Screen" in the chromecast app , the TV switch to a black screen (like in MIUI).
@faust93
Tell me, if i can provide you some help (logs, tests, ..) to improve chromecast support for Mipad (yeah i need the cast screen function ^^)
You can also try diskusage app, it is great!

Is there a way to disable the HW keys?
When my kids playing with the tablet, they accidental press them... I would really prefer using the soft (on screen) keys only...
Is there a way to disable the HW buttons and use only the on screen buttons?
I would really like to have this feature, we have it MiUI ROM, it is really helpful.
Thanks for the good work! The ROM runs fine, the 20/1 build gives me no problems with battery drain or wifi connection. Gaming is excellent, I even got XCOM: enemy within working!
Only problem I encounter is that swiftkey keeps crashing. I didn't see that on MIUI. Any thoughts?

It works fine here with chromecast: DS audio works, Youtube and some other apps. Screencasting gives me the same black screen, but since screencasting is known to be buggy (and beta....) I am not surprised.
Does anyone have issues with writing to SD cards? I've tried several, but it seems that most apps see my cards as write protected. Strange thing: ES file explorer CAN write to the cards... I've tried a 16GB SDHC card and a 32 GB UHS-1 card, both have this problem. What is more: CWM works OK with the 16 GB one, however it crashes when trying to use the UHS-1 card. They are formatted in fat32. They work fine in my macbook and digital camera.
Anyone an Idea? Is this a CM11 problem?
Addition:
I've restored a MIUI Nandroid backup: Now SD-writing works no-problem, both SD cards. It seems to be a CM11 problem..
Addition two:
Ok the writing To SD from CM11 can easily be solved by running one of the "SD fix" apps from the playstore. This seems to be a built-in security thing from Android KitKat.
Still, CWM cannot backup to my 32 GB UHS-1 card, it cannot even format it. I could however use it to load an updated ROM. Probably a device specific problem?
problem with clock
I have a problem with the clock, it keeps crashing when trying to use the alarm or the timer. Has anyone experienced this too?

No screen-off
Hi,
I have noticed that either value of sleep I select (Settings-->Display & lights-->Sleep), the tablet will never go to sleep --> meaning will not turn off the screen.
Is this a common issue?
Is it fixable?
Thanks!
Edit: Issue is solved by a reboot...
Cannot Boot MUI
I did the exact steps, same issue cannot boot onto MIUI ... I do a complete clean, reinstall CM11 and do a clean install from MIUI, same thing cannot boot and hangs on booting...
I followed the steps from xiaomi . eu site
Anyone else same issue ?

Insufficient storage available.
Hey, regarding the Mipad CM11 I keep getting the insufficient storage error though my internal 16gb has 7 gigs free. Any ideas? I've tried wiping cache and all and it happens if I try to install an apk directly from Internet as well.

Check which system you flashed at and check if it is selected for boot.
I installed CM on system 1 and chose to boot from it, I guess you should do the same.

Starchild2k's Custom Rom For The Samsung Galaxy J700P

Starchild2k's Samsung Galaxy J700P Custom Rom
Information about ROM:
This a Custom ROM I built myself using SuperR's kitchen! There has been a lot I have managed to do to this ROM making it the best one for the J700P yet by far! I am very much so in the picture still for a CM13 release still working on it as we speak. In the meantime I have been working on a ROM that was made purely from the latest Stock ROM that was released for this phone. I left the system.prop alone to prove that it was in fact stock and if there was any future updates for this phone you would know and be able to get them.
Tweaks Done:
Rooted Phone
Deodexed Phone
Removed Bloatware Apps that was preloaded to the phone
Speeded up the Boot Time
Removed Boot Animation
Freed Up System Memory
Unlocked WiFi Tethering for unlimited use! (HOT SPOT)
Various System Tweaks used from Xposed Installer for system stability
Completely Removed KNOX!
Special Preloaded Apps Included:
SuperSU (Already ROOTED)
Xposed Installer With Preloaded Apps (Youtube, System, TWEAKS)
Subsonic Music Streamer with exclusive access to my music server for free!
Terminal Emulator
Root Explorer Pro
Requirements For Installation:
J700P Of Course!
Custom Recovery Firmware Installed! (TWRP,CWM,etc)
Installation Instructions:
1. Copy ZIP file to a external SD Card first (CAN NOT INSTALL FROM INTERNAL SD!)
2. Reboot phone into Custom Recovery
3. Make a complete backup to the External SD Card (I recommend using TWRP for this!)
4. Install The Zip File that is on your External SD Card (This Can take a little bit to install so don't worry it works!)
5. Reboot into System from Recovery
6. Done!
Concerns About Mobile Data:
If you are experiencing issues with your data connection not working after installing this ROM try using the activate phone in the settings if this doesn't work then do a factory reset and re-root the phone using the latest SuperSU.zip file. This will solve any issues certainly!
Future Plans:
1. Set Permisssive Mode to the ROM
2. Add some more kernel tweaks
3. Add Apps2SD Support
4. Add custom Pandora APK
5. Add Facebook/ Facebook Messsenger APKS
6. Remove PDA Update from Final Release

Nice with bro
I'm really enjoying using this rom. Everything is smooth for the most part, but there are times when the UI will reset, or it will freeze up at times when I'm on Youtube or Instagram.
I installed SeLinux Mode Changer, and used it to make the device permissive. It doesn't seem to be sticking on reboot though, which sucks cause I want Viper4Android active on my device.
But these are all nitpicks. I really do enjoy using this rom, keep doing your thing. Anxiously anticipating the finished out of beta version, man. Thanks for all you've contributed towards the J700P development, man.
I wouldnt worry about the SystemUI errors on Youtube I believe these are issues with xposed Installer with all the modules I preloaded and I will look into these issues and I will definitely have permissive mode released in my final release then on to finish CM13 and then CM14!

TBH any way you make this is fine. I'm just glad to see the stock surpassing its potential. Reminds me of @Curtis1973 with his custom stock ROM mod for the LG Volt Last year. So many thanks to you. You and @minz1 pretty much kept this model in the loop of modifications.
1. Set Permisssive Mode to the ROM - don't, permissive has a bunch of secuirty compromises
2. Add some more kernel tweaks - okay
3. App Apps2SD Support - ok
4. Add custom Pandora APK - that can be added easily. don't debloat then rebloat your ROM
5. Add Facebook/ Facebook Messsenger APKS - ^
6. Remove PDA Update from Final Release - ok
Haha thats so funny u metioned the lg volt i worked on that phone as well i still have a volt i think it stopped on cm12.1 but i did want to rerelease and revise it to cm13 as well but for now i want to put all efforts towards the J7 on getting a stable cm13 and cm14 build
Is this the best stable Rom for the J700P to date? I've been looking for a good one for a lil bit now. So far from what I have read that it has everything that I'm looking for. Will flash this jewel soon if it's a go

Its better to set permissive mode on a kernel for scripts/mods to run better but if security is a issue i will put some antivirus like malwarebytes on it as far as pandora it wouldnt be bloatware at all it would be a custom version that can download songs by hitting a tumbs up and it also would have no ads and unlimited skips
Heck ya. I use the Pandora download version and its great. The main feature I saw was the bypass WiFi hotspot lol. I have a HTC desire I use for GPS only so I would like to wifi this phones data to it. Get live traffic updates and so on.

They made it to 13 on the Volt... I ended up making 6 'remix roms' that fixed the camera issue (KitKat)
They used LgG2 mini sources to get the phone up and running. Anyway.... Y'all got this.

You might want to look at this: download any format, no ads, background playback, and pop out window mode. Just a minimal amount to read to get it working.
Working on getting selinux to permissive permanently now!
See that's the things I like, modded stuff. Anyone have any other useful links or websites?

Does look to be off to an excellent start doesnt it? i gave it a 5 to encourage everyone involved to carry on with it. :good: i am in my own struggle at the moment on a new Alcatel device. The A621BL. Alcatel has it in beast mode with crippled fast boot among other over board protection issues. But root is not to far away.

Having just issue with gyroscope not working properly so far everything else all good can't use file manager as won't let me access SD card so use root browser and no problem whatsoever
Thank you for your work!
So to continue from the other thread.
Seems large apps can't be moved, while small apps can.
I have 30gb free on the sdcard, but Final Fantasy 7 or 9 can't be moved there, giving the error "insufficient storage". However big files can be moved between location manually.
(Final Fantasy 7 doesn't run at all, and just instantly crashes when open. That game was always sensitive to where it was stored. It did work on your cm13, but not very well, its a bad port of the pc version I think
*Edit that, updated just got pushed by play store. What's changed state it doesn't work in 7.x Android).
Again, I am providing feedback as things happen. Not particularly asking for a solution, although maybe anything I come across can indicate issues to help with development.
Ooh another thing. In the expanded notification panel, pressing the pencil icon in order to rearrange the icon causes the phone to freeze for a minute or two, then brings up the lockscreen. Seems like SystemUI having issues but there is no error messages indicating that (but its that kind of behaviour from older Android versions that makes it seem like the case). It does not happen every time, but happens more than actually opening the rearrange page happens.

I got no problems (SD card not formatted as internal).
Although in some earlier builds when I formatted the SD card as internal storage I couldn't access internal memory from my PC.
So specify your problem a bit please?

Plug your phone to your PC. Then when it connects to the PC you'll have to open your status bar and see a notification saying "USB Charging this device". Click on it and you'll get a small menu with 4 options. Click on " Transfer files" (which is the second option) and then your phone will reconnect with your PC automatically and you'll be able to access the internal and SD card data from your PC.
And a feature has been added to Android ever since the 6.0 version where the users can configure the SD card to be able use it as Internal Storage. You can find that in the settings of your device?

This might be able to fix it. Go to developer options, scroll down to "select USB configuration" and change whatever setting you have to MTP. You might wanna switch modes a few times and then connect to PC with MTP active..
The bug has been active since cm13 in some cases and I personally never had the issue so I can't go into full depth of this.

Finally, I had time to check whether it's possible to build a 64bit firmware on the exynos7870. Yes, we have 64bit kernel, but all stock firmwares were 32bit, as result I need a lot of missed 64bit proprietary files.
This is fully 64bit firmware, missed files from a5'17 (it's on exynos7880) - gralloc, gps, ril, gles (mali).
Only own audio\camera still 32bit, but in any case it's working great in 64bit firmware.
I wrote own sensors HAL, because it's very specific for each device, it's still buggy, i'm continue work on it.
Right now I need understand - do we need 64bit at all? I don't see any huge improves.

Congrats! I am test it asap!:good::good::good:
new version.
now I can say - it's stable.
sensors - done (back to stock sensors.universal7870.so with prebuild 32bit service for sensors)
flip - done
it's still sometimes fc on camera - I'll check it later
I can confirm it works on SM-T580 (WiFi only) as well. Everything seems to work fine; buttons, WiFi + BT, camera, audio, video (youtube), sensors, smart cover etc.
OpenGApps 8.1 ARM64 installed with no errors.
The only thing I noticed is during first boot screen it says in the top-left corner in red text: 'Kernel is not seandroid enforcing'. Maybe this is on SM-T585 as well.
On the SM-T580 you get unusable sim-card icon in the notification bar and some other places, but that is to be expected.

Just installing on T585 now, I've flashed the rom and gapps fine.
Problem I have is first there was no keyboard, and now I can't sign in to Google account
It says checking and then screen goes black.
I've wiped cache and davlik but still won't work
Any help would be appreciated
Also, what's a full wipe in twrp?

Those problems may be related to improper wipe, no worries.
Full wipe means in TWRP you go to 'Wipe' -> 'Advanced Wipe' -> Select all partitions except 'Micro SD card' and 'USB OTG'
In my case (SM-T580) that would be;
- Dalvik / ART cache
- System
- Data
- Internal Storage (Optional, but recommended to wipe)
- Cache
Don't forget to first make a backup via TWRP of the 'EFS' partition (on sd-card or USB-stick via OTG cable), just in case the SIM-card functions stop working due to lost IMEI.
Also, some issues may be related to the device still working on stuff when it shows the welcome screen after flashing. In general you should leave the device for around 5 minutes before doing anything after flashing and first boot to let everything finish properly.

Rom is running smoothly, only problem I found so far is the camera app, it loads but the soft button only shows a half. It's like the screen is not big enough.
Is there a fix for this?

It's honestly WORRYING the fact the tablet runs at 10FPS when scrolling through the notification bar. Can't you disable the notification bar background alpha @Valera1978?

Is this rom still OK for T580 ? I read someone flashed it already. Can anyone confirm ? Thanks.
I can't access the SD card in this ROM, maybe there are some leftover files from the previous ROM, that prevent the tablet from accessing it? Anybody has some advice if it's possible to fix that?

Did you format it as internal storage on the last romyou had installed, if so it possibly will not work unless it's reformatted on the currently installed rom.
Does it actually show up in file manager?

HAVOC 3.0 ROM V2 2019-12-06
Project ended.
This is BETA version, USE STABLE crDroid or GoogleDroid ROMs.
Your warranty is now void.
There's no guarantee, don't use it if you don't know what you're doing!
Android quota removed. (Easy back 7.x-9.x ROMs)
Make sure you have a custom recovery installed (TWRP (or clones) is the preferred recovery) My TWRP: LINK
Boot into recovery
Wipe dalvik, system, data, cust (vendor), cache partitions
If your /data partition secured, maybe need format /data.
Flash Rom (sideload or copy SD)
Flash Google Apps package (Optional) LINK
Flash Magisk Root (Optional) LINK
Reboot (If TWRP warn that there is no system, it doesn't matter, go reboot.)
First boot may take up to 40 sec to 1 minutes.
Boot time 30 sec.
There are many tiny, unpleasant bugs in Havoc system, NOT recommended for daily use, maybe just for fanatics.
DOWNLOAD V2 ROMDon't need wipe data if upgrade previous Havoc 3.
NEW: FM radio fixer LINK (If not working FM radio, install this fixer in TWRP)
NEW: dt2w fixed : LINK (Install in TWRP.)
V2 Changelog:
Power off (offline) charging bug fixed
Some camera bug fixed
Many system bug fixed
Energy consumption is very good
The Android system seems stable and fast (Havoc Os not so much )
Know bugs: - no double touch wake up (?)
- FM radio
- power off charge
Update: I found some permission issues.
I'm trying to fix it.
The camera app does not save images to the SD card...
Gallery Go does not handle SD card properly...
They don't even ask for permission...
Workaround: USE INTERNAL STORAGE for photography, and sometimes move images to SD.

1. workaround dt2w: download Ravenge OS (TWRP save) and restore ONLY VENDOR. I integrated dt2w to vendor, but only for PE and subsequent ROMs.
2. workaround (full ROM installer): change the vendor.transfer.list and vendor.new.dat.br files from PixelE to HavocOS (or Arrows, or crDroid) in to the installer zip file. After no need patch for dt2w. Only copy two files to ROM installer zip file.
If you want dt2w, you have to disable the double tap on ambient display because two identical functions cannot be interpreted at the same time.
Dt2w will be good in every new ROM.
I have already stated that Official ROM development is chaotic.
The Havoc bug to this day:
- no flashing LED for missed calls
- Doesn't work with two buttons navigation back sweeping
- there is a problem with the bluetooth call
- applications are chaotic and inconsistent, with each developer trying their own solutions
- etc
- developers do not receive meaningful feedback
The situation is similar for all AOSP-based ROMs, which may be due to the lack of an official Lineage 17.
Google ****ed up sd card permissions.
I don't know when a stable AOSP ROM will be available, just wait now...

1. If your phone data was encrypted, you may need to format the data partition. Save all your data first.
2. If a quota was applied to the data partition, it must be removed or formatted.
To remove a quota from TWRP:
Code:
tune2fs -O ^quota /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/userdata
tune2fs -Q ^usrquota,^grpquota /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/userdata
(If you then install a ROM that uses a quota, you will need to uninstall it again to use the quota-free ROM.)
3. Or, put the previous ROM from your backup on your phone and keep using it.
